It was the only place that stayed opened near 11 pm. My flight came in Buffalo was over 3 hrs late due to severe thunderstorms in the area. The hotel restaurant did not really have good Yelp rating, I gave this palace a try. The portion was big and the wings actually tasted really good. Ten of them is plenty for one person. I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the day bartender, Becky, who only pays attention to her regulars, I've come in multiple times and sat at tables and had great service, and the other bartender Lisa was fantastic, and friendly, but this has been the second experience I've had with Becky, both being very unpleasant, she drinks at the bar, and quite literally plays darts while she has people at tables and the bar needing service, music selection I will say was very bizarre at best and borderline uncomfortable, I wasn't a regular so I was essentially ignored and then talked to like a middle school child who didn't know anything, I asked for a menu, she said one moment, disappeared into the back, emerged 5 min later, and went and played darts, it took me going to the other side of the bar to get a menu a customer offered me, who also expressed their frustration to me about her service and lack of any genuine edict, any time I had a question it seemed like I was ruining her day, it's also scary when you hear the bartender bad mouthing tables 15 feet away from her right in front of me, very unsettling feeling, after another round of darts she finally took my order, now I heard that bell ring about 3 times before she brought my food out, thankfully they were still warm The wings were incredible, bbq medium, grilled perfect and crispy, then with medium on them, they hit the spot, I also had Cajun which were incredible, crispy, juicy and big wings, even got an added extra bonus wing in there, also ordered a buffalo wrap bbq which was incredible, it was massive and very large amount of chicken fingers in there, they definitely don't skimp on their portions, fries were perfect, every time come here the food has been terrific, the wings, western burger, buffalo wrap, beef on weck all good One thing I will say, I'm not coming back during the afternoon on certain weekdays, and this isn't a reflection of the rest of the staff because I've never had a bad experience with anybody else there whether it be another bartender or a waitress taking care of me, it's just crazy to me how you can't treat and act that way to a paying customer, I really don't understand how she has a job there because I wasn't the only person there that day that had an issue with her read more

ugh .. ok, it's Wednesday night and almost 10pm. There are very few options for wings or pizza but my brother has just flown in and I have heard good things about Elmo's so one star for serving "food" until 11 midweek. Menu pricing isn't bad and we were hopeful with the beer and wing special. Ok maybe it took the special and serving food until 11 to earn one of these stars. It's a dark dining area on a dark night ... Sabres jerseys on the wall leading us to talk hockey. The service was slow and non-attentive. When the server finally arrived she refused to even look at us ... I did not do a breath analysis but if you have ever had one standing two feet in front of you and rolling their eyes looking anywhere but in your direction you know how unappreciated we felt. It was clear she was dreaming because a big platter of French fries was plopped in front of us, which we did not order. She said "go ahead and eat them," which turned out to being the only good food on the table but we definitely didn't want fries (we sampled a few each). The frequently highly touted Elmo's wings were DRY and really pretty awful. The hot wings didn't seem that much different from the mild wings and they were just piled together. What made it worse was ... the wings were piled on top of the blue cheese containers and the carrots/celery. That meant we had to dig through the wings to get the dipping sauce proving whoever was in the kitchen had the same attitude as our waitress (Anyone in the food service industry concerned with their customers would have arranged wings, dips, and celery/carrots in a visual appealing manner not requiring digging in with fingers to find everything.). We all have different criteria in declaring our favorite wing locations but fresh wings, unique good sauces, good presentation and excellent service matter! Elmo's failed in all categories but the price (if the wings had been good) was right, they served until 11, and the French fries we didn't order were pretty good so two stars (I am being generous) but if you are on the Wing trail ... skip these guys and go for any other option! read more

I am in town for the weekend and was recommended Elmo's from a local cashier. I placed an order of 20 hot wings and a quesadilla for carry out. I received my food in roughly 20 minutes(no complaint as the restaurant was very busy) the quesadilla was nothing special, beef was average but quesadilla was soggy. Fries that came with the quesadilla were among the worst I've had, which could be due to the fact that they were carry out so that does not impact my review. Now for the main event, the wings. These wings were among the best I've had. They survived a 15 minute ride home and still remained perfectly crispy with a nice hot sauce. Elmo's has been my favorite wing spot since Khalil Mack name dropped them 10+ years ago. Crispy and charred, they are perfect. Since then, they've become very commonly put in the best wings group for locals. However, I will say that while that is a great thing for their business, it may be a con too. This is a very small dive bar. Nice sports bar atmosphere and the staff is generally very nice and accommodating. But the last couple times we've been, we've noticed the dip in food service. We showed up at 5pm on a Saturday, and when we walked in, I kid you not, there was not one order of food on any of the tables, and the tables were filled. Very bizarre. I would assume they do a great portion of their business with door dash, and it seems as if that took priority over feeding the customers inside of the actual restaurant. It also seemed extremely overpriced. (I didn't pay much attention in the past about the price.) for 5 single order of wings, order of fingers, 1 order of onion rings, and 1 order of fries, our bill (4 adults and 2 kids) was $172. I could not believe it. You would have thought we ate at Lucia's for that price. While they are still my favorite wings, it's gonna cost you. read more

Elmo's is a dive bar so don't expect much in the way of ambiance or service. I've come to Elmo's four or five times over the years because everyone in the neighborhood raves about it. Unfortunately, I've never had a genuinely good experience. The wings have always been very average at best, and today the hospitality was honestly disappointing. The staff acted annoyed or just understaffed. The bar team was complaining about the kitchen crew. Just not good at all. I ordered a beer and waited for wings to go -- that was it -- and still felt completely unwelcome. Solid 3.5 for the buffalo wings! The flavor was pretty good. If you're looking for classic buffalo wing taste, go with "hot" when you order as there are different options you can choose from. I know Bar Bill (yes we went to the original location) gets all the hype, but they didn't hold a candle to Elmo's wings. As someone who can't stand slimy chicken skin on their wings, this place knocked it out of the park. They cook them just long enough that they're crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We opted out of the "double dip" option and it was the perfect amount of hot sauce. Plus I'm pretty sure we got more than 10 wings in our order, which I'm not complaining about! We set off on the maiden voyage; four chicken wing rating virgins armed with no plan and no expectations. After some complaining that we should have picked somewhere closer for our first stop -- 40 mins from Hamburg -- we settled into our new surroundings. The ambiance and decor was as one would expect. A little rough around the edges but they had a good beer selection, the wait staff was nice and was accommodating to our many questions. Now onto the heart of the matter... Sauce (3.5/5): Honey mustard sauce was killer. We also ordered "double dipped Cajun-Medium" flavor but they must've heard "double-dipped Cajun-Medium and hold the cajun". I'm drowning in Frank's Red Hot! Meat (5/5): Good size; meaty wings with no grizzle. That's how you do it, local wing supplier! Cook (3/5): The extra-grill technique made for some heavy caramelization on the sweeter wings which led to mixed reviews at the table. Some enjoyed the sweet char and some thought it dried out the meat and left it a bit chewy.
