Stopped in last nite with a friend to enjoy a Lenten fish fry. Obviously due to being Lent they were & we expected them to be busy. We were seated almost right away which was perfect. The Hostess was very friendly & accommodating. Sooner after our waitress Hannah came over with menus & asking if we would like something to drink, we ordered a beer & a soda. After receiving our drinks we placed our order for a Broiled Cajun & a Chicken Caesar Wrap with fries, my fish was ordered with Home fries. When the meals arrived the Wrap looked great and turned out to be really good as for my Fish, I was totally surprised regarding the size. To me it was smaller than 1/2 a fish and based on the lack of Cajun spice i know it was not going to be tasting very Cajun (I was right, zero Cajun flavor). The Home Fries where well over done and quantity was unbelievably small, the coleslaw was very tasty but not cold, which is a turn-off for me, Also NO Mac. Salad. Overall for $18.95 the Fish was not good! the Wrap was good. The beer was not cold either I had to ask for a pint glass with ice. Probably would not return for Fish. Everyone was at the bar watching the game, and we were the only two in the dining area. We got the best seat in the house, where he could watch a television and had it all to himself, and I could watch a television too. On an abnormally warm Saturday night in October, some family and I decided to try Snyder Bar and Grill for dinner. In short, we had a nice experience! I arrived around 6:00pm on a Saturday night and was able to grab a parking spot right out front of Snyder Bar and Grill. The front parking lot is small but I noticed a sign that said additional parking in the back. You could probably also park in one of the end spots at Walgreens too, it you want to be adventurous. haha I walked in and family I was meeting had already grabbed a table. It sounded like it was a seat yourself-style of seating. There's a pretty sizeable bar area and a long, dine-in section with multiple TVs playing college football and playoff baseball, which is where we sat. Our waitress was very courteous and friendly. From the time we place our orders to when our food arrived, it probably was about 20 minutes or so, which was good for a table of five. The only thing was the food orders came out haphazardly and some of us had to wait an extra minute or two, but definitely not a deal breaker. For dinner, I ordered their Peanut Butter Bacon Burger (cooked medium) without lettuce, tomato, onion with French fries on the side. I tell you what, this was an excellent burger! The burger was hot, thick, and juicy, cooked a perfect medium. The bacon was cooked to my liking where it was a little crispy but still had a little chew to it. I really appreciated the generous amount of peanut butter spread on top of the burger itself! Each bite was phenomenal and had all of the flavors and texture I was looking for. The next time I order the burger, I would maybe add some pepperjack cheese or have jalapeños on top just to add a little bit of spice/heat. The French fries were steak fries so a bit thicker but still fried to a nice crispiness and had a nice golden color. My meal did a nice job filling me up without having me feel stuffed. I also thought the price of my burger and fries were incredibly reasonable compared to some other bar and grill spots I've been to in Buffalo. All of us were very happy with our meals and time at Snyder Bar and Grill! I really liked that it had that small, hometown bar vibe going for it as there were plenty of people at the bar drinking and conversing, having a great time. The dine-in staff seemed young but generally friendly and accommodating. I would not hesitate to come back for a beer and burger. Or, maybe I should try their wings - A booth had ordered some and we were shocked at how big and how good they looked all sauced up. read more

This is our local neighborhood hangout so it pains us to leave this review with only two stars. The servers are always so friendly and efficient, but something is definitely not working in the food prep area. Lately food has been way underdone our waaaayyyyyy overdone. My son and I come here once a week , he is 20 so we do not sit at the bar.. we sit at the tables next to the bar. I stopped in last night to get two burgers for take out and I have never in my life been treated so poorly by a bar-tender. I got to the bar and he said it will be an hour and a half for you , even for take out. Another woman came up after me and he told her for you sweetie 60 minutes to which I said thought it was 90 minutes. He looked at me and said tables come and tables go ,I have no control.. He was a complete Delta Bravo.. I will never step foot in the place again. Larger man with longer dirty blond hair. For a women run business , I am astounded. I went to Mcpartlans, walked in.. Not impressed. Boyfriend ordered buffalo chicken wrap and there was hardly any chicken. I ordered the appetizer sampler and everything was deep fried way too long; I could tell by how dark it was as soon as it was set down and then confirmed by eating. I didn't finish anything. Came to this place while I was out of town visiting Buffalo. Came up first in a Google search for buffalo wings, Amherst New York where I was staying. Less than 5 minutes away from my hotel. We have been dining at SPG for many years and we love the food and service but the past year it is really gone downhill long waits for your food up to 40 minutes and when it comes expect it to be cold, french fries cold, chicken fingers cold, tuna melts cold and burgers burnt. This place may be ok for the locals to grab a drink but is nothing I would recommend. The place is very old and dingy and the food was very basic. I also think for the price the food should've been a lot better and the stuffed ravioli shouldn't have been burnt. This place honestly is one of my favorite wing spots in Buffalo. I can't tell you enough about how great the wings are here. The Cajun especially are the best in my opinion. Also it's a cool spot to just stop for a drink. They also take wing orders by phone for pick up which is what I did on this last visit. The taste sometimes fluctuates depending on who is cooking but always great. Three stars should be 4 but it's explained below. This is the EXACT kind of place that wifey and I were looking for when we moved to Amherst. A local. A place that isn't divvy and gross or divvy and filled with underaged college kids. Just a nice dive. We have been there twice for quick (well, therein lies the problem...) dinners on week nights. During both visits, at around dinnertime (6-7ish?), the place wasn't busy and looked to be stocked with locals having after-work drinks and food. Yes, they do have the aforementioned shuffleboard table and I think we would have played if it wasn't occupied (and if we had a freaking clue how to play it!). Parking is easy. The place is easy to miss if you don't know where it is - on Kensington in a little strip plaza between Harlem and Main St. The place consists of essentially two rooms - a bar room and a dining room. The dining room has a wall lined with wooden booths, which are perfectly comfy. There are 1-2 tv's in the place and the first time we were there one was tuned to a Red Sox game (bonus!). We had burgers, wings, and beer, and all were made as requested and good. Nothing spectacular, but exactly what you would expect out of a place like this. Here is the problem, and though I hate having a problem with a place, this is why we haven't been back in a couple of months: the wait for our meal, after ordering and before it is served, was extreme both times we were there. For burgers and wings, in a mostly empty restaurant during normal dinner hours, we waited well over a half hour. The food did come out perfectly hot, so I don't understand what the deal is. I'd love to come back and have some more of their great wings and atmosphere, and I'm sure I WILL go back, but I do not enjoy the wait. I'm usually very patient and like to relax and chat before the food comes out, but this was just more than the norm. Oh, and one other nice thing: the place wasn't packed with families with young children! I'm sure it's family friendly and that kids are welcome, they just don't seem to be the focus of the place, which is nice. read more
