After the unfortunate last-minute cancellation of the Yelp event, my friend and I decided there was…read morereally only one thing to do: grab some good grub! I pulled out my restaurant bucket list, and we decided it was finally time to check this place off. I was happy to see that they serve fish fries daily, since that's what they're known for. We decided to share the tacos and a fish fry. Our waitress, Dawn, was friendly and helpful, and she recommended the grouper taco. The tacos were a great choice - tender, well-seasoned, sauce with a bit of a kick, and at $7, they were a steal! The fish fry had a fantastic crispy beer batter that wasn't overly greasy, and I loved the beer-battered fries. The coleslaw, mac salad, and potato salad, however, were probably the weakest part of the meal. They tasted overly sweet and didn't have that fresh, homemade feel I was hoping for. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal. There were only a couple of other people dining when we were there, and this place has all the classic signs of a longtime neighborhood spot. You get the feeling that this is the kind of place where you come for the food, not the fancy atmosphere, and honestly, that's part of the charm. Would I come back? Absolutely. There are plenty more specialties on the menu that I'd like to try.

I'm back here now to Yelp what a wonderful place Wiechec's is for a Friday nght fish fry for a table of 12. Okay, not all of us got the fish fry, but the point is, if you ever tried to reserve a table for 12 people for a Friday fish fry, you will understand our gratitude to Wiechec's for accomodating us. Service was efficient and friendly. Our table(s) were waiting when we got there. A few people got the pierogies and onions, a couple got the French dip. I got the fish sandwich. My only issue with it was it was easily twice the size I'd had in mind for a "fish sandwich." I ate the fish (excellent) and cole slaw and some of the fries.

He is amazing! I've been wanting to try the seafood fries, and while the flavor was spot on, there was a noticeable lack of seafood. I doubt I would have that again. I'm any case, the fish fry was as fine as ever, and the shrimp po' boy. Oh, those shrimps! I had a lemonade, no extra flavor. Delicious! And don't skip a baked good. I had lemon cake, which was amazing! I did get to hear the band on this night. Definitely a good vibe for the room. Classic jazzy tunes, not too loud.

Soon we learned that he was not only very friendly, but also fast, energetic, and attentive. Check out the menu. There's something for everyone who's craving seafood. We visited in the late afternoon on Friday. My partner wanted the traditional Buffalo Fish Fry. I was looking for something that wasn't a deep-fried carb overload :). At a certain point, new guests began streaming into the restaurant - including those who were there just for takeout orders. Our food arrived straight from the kitchen and was still piping hot.The Fish Fry received nothing but good reviews. The beer batter was crispy and flavorful. The haddock was flaky and perfectly cooked as well. The order was missing the corn muffin, but the rest of the sides were there, house-made and delicious. The Lexington dish on The Mains menu sounded more sophisticated than it actually tasted. It was very good indeed, but it lacked a bit of 'zing', something to elevate its flavor from being flat. The broccoli was boiled and served as a side dish. Had it been char-grilled (as indicated on the menu) perhaps it would have added more flavor and texture to the dish? Anyway, as I mentioned, my course was very good/satisfying. I should have asked for at least some lemon wedges. Next time I'll definitely order the Shrimp Po Boy :). The two shrimps I had were perfect. Truly succulent; tender, juicy and sweet. Yummy!

They were super busy with their Octoberfest celebration and football. Getting served and food prep took a while which is understandable until things settled down once Octoberfest was over and tabs were closed. Their beef on weck is one of the best in Buffalo! I always get this undipped. It's always so juicy and tender with a nice hint of beer flavor. Great weck roll. Rubens are always so perfectly made and tender. Perfect tots every time. They're nice and crisp outside, but creamy and delicious inside. I dip them in au jus and omg yuuummmm! I know for lunch you don't want long wait times. Our server was so great. She was very nice, attentive and friendly. Been here and the Lewiston location and always had good food. Still the same. Our food was delicious. Very nice portion sizes as well. We started off with the burnt ends.. YUM. The smoke flavor definitely came through and it came with some pickleld veggies and cucumbers, it was fresh and tasty. I went with the crab and corn chowder with the bourbon jam burger and fries. Also at the table was a basket of fried shrimp, and the chicken waffles. First let me say their seasoned fries are absolutely amazing. Fried perfect and when they call them seasoned, that they are in a great way! My crab and corn chowder was tasty. I could used bit more crab but that didn't take away from it tasting good. My burger was cooked as I liked. I wish the bacon jam to blue cheese ratio were a bit better. I had way more blue cheese than bacon jam so it was a bit over powering to where I couldn't even taste the bacon jam..but again the flavor and cook was great. I didn't taste the other food items but they looked great and who did eat them said they were good
