    Liberty Hound Truffle Fries

With speedy service and a smile I received my order. I got the parmesan fries, they were crispy hot, delish and came with a BBQ dipping sauce. My cocktail of choice was the lucky duck ,it was a promo for the world's largest duck being in town.It was tasty and refreshing on a hot day with a blueberry and strawberry mixture.Choices of fish, burgers and chicken on the menu.Bar area to grab drinks.

Get Parmed is the winter "pop-up" restaurant that Liberty Hound is running. Don't get confused by the term pop-up, as it is still theLiberty Hound restaurant with the same chef, location and interior. It is just what they are calling their winter menu. We had the chicken parm dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine and were pleasantly surprised The chicken was tender and crisp and Nona's sauce had a smooth texture and nice flavor. I would suggest reservations as only inside dining is available this time of year. There is a bar set to one side and note you enter from the side door that goes to the museum (on the naval park side of the building). Street metered parking is nearby or walk from the transit or one of the paid parking lots. We enjoyed the food and will be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was great![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was fast and the waiter was very nice. The food was okay, not what I expected. I ordered a fish fry with fries but the taste was just not yummy. Hopefully I stop by again and try something else from the menu.

Great meal. Stopped by after hitting the beach knowing it would be busy on a 90* day on the water. The wait was about 25 minutes, not that bad for a good meal and great cooling drink! Two of us ordered the tacos with chicken and they were delicious! And a good size with a side. Everyone loved their food. Service was on point and so was my drink, The Painkiller! This is always a good choice when in Buffalo.

Visited during restaurant week. Converted to a pop-up called Parmed for the winter months. The veal parmigiana was excellent. Crispy breading, tender veal and just enough cheese and sauce. Spaghetti side was good portion. Service was good. Mark very friendly and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Filled up the night we were there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This should be a winter success with Italian comfort food.

Most of the time I leave reviews for restaurants and businesses I enjoy. The Liberty Hound deserved a low review for a plentiful of reasons. To start off we ordered half a dozen of oysters on the half shell we were both ill that night ! I understand at establishments where raw food is consumed you are warned of the possibility of food borne illnesses but aside from the oysters and their poorly presented ice it seemed as if the staff didn't put loving effort into anything at all. Ordered a wicked tuna burger as my entree, mushy, messy, and way too sweet, fell apart in my hands the minute I took a bite. When we ordered our beverages it took almost 15 minutes to receive them the server had poured them but another issue had caught his attention and we ended up receiving flat coke after the oysters. It's a shame that Buffalo is home to very unpleasant dining experiences unhealthy and poor quality food. I would not recommend visiting The Liberty Hound

Conveniently located at Canalside with indoor table and bar seating, as well as outdoor patio seating. We came for an early dinner on a Monday around 4:00 and it was busy and loud in the dining room... almost too loud to carry on a conversation. They take reservations and walk ins. I ordered the lobster roll which came with a pickle and fries and really enjoyed it. My only disappointment is that I wish there were more fries because they were delicious! In addition to their food menu, there have a full bar with several beers on tap. Recommend giving them a try!

I didn't even know this place existed at Canalside. My friend and I were exploring the area and we opted to sit here because we were starving. In my opinion, the menu is kinda limited if you don't like fried food or seafood. We started off with the Ahi tuna nachos. They weren't bad but I wish they took the sodium level a few notches down. There also wasn't even tuna on it. I opted for the buddha bowl because I don't care for fried food. The buddha bowl consisted of a lot of fresh and healthy ingredients such as edamame, cucumber, tofu, seaweed salad, carrot, etc. It was also ok. I wasn't impressed at all.

We visited friends in Buffalo, New York, who wanted to show us the newly revitalized downtown area, especially Canalside at the west end of the Erie Canal. After exploring the entire area, we were ready for a bite to eat. Our friend recommended Liberty Hound, as it's always packed in the evenings. Luckily, we went on a weekday around lunchtime and had no trouble getting a table. We got a waterfront spot overlooking the canal, and our server quickly took our drink orders. I ordered the Painkiller shown in the picture and ended up having two. For food, our friend enjoyed a delicious chicken sandwich with truffle fries, my wife had a beef on Weck sandwich with fries, and I indulged in a big bowl of fat, juicy mussels with a broth that required two loaves of bread to soak up.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Decided to spend one of the last beautiful days of summer eating alfresco at this waterfront gem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Monday afternoon, not crowded, no wait. We have been here for drinks before, but never food . Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. My husband and I both opted for a draft beer. I had the chicken and Brie sandwich with a side salad. My husband opted for the Market Salad. Food was plentiful, prepared well and delicious. Would definitely return!

The food is great! The Service is the definition of TERRIBLE! The waiter walks slower than the customers. She didn't even asked if we wanted refills. And the cleanliness of our table was horrible. Dirt on the chairs, and it was practically bug valley in there, mosquitoes and flies in every nook and cranny. I got the Liberty Burger. It was, well, even McDonalds could top it. Food: 3.6 stars Service: 1.3 stars Ambiance: 2.1 Overall: 2 stars

What's the average wait time at 6 on a Saturday 😬?

It varies depending on the wether and what's happening at Canalside. Sometimes there's no wait sometimes it's more like an hour. Hard to say what the average is. I would call ahead about 20 minutes to inquire about the wait time and possibly get…

Starting with ambiance.......2 full sized bars with plenty of tv viewing if that is what you are in to while there. The seating area is well lit with natural light and comfortable, well spaced seating. We were greeted by our quiet, yet smiley server, Raymond. He was warm, efficient and also gave us great recommendations (coupled with personal stories as to why they were recommended). We ordered drinks (their craft cocktail menu is one of the best I have seen) and then perused the menu. We went with Raymond's recommendation to order 2 cinnamon rolls for the table (we were leary as many places whose claim to fame for having the "best" cinnamon roll, fall short). We also ordered 2 of the multigrain breakfast sandwiches, a smashburger, Brasserie breakfast sandwich, and the biscuits and gravy (highly recommended by Raymond as well). Everything was OUTSTANDING! Phrases like "seriously the combination of this breakfast sandwich with pancakes as the buns is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had." And, the cinnamon rolls!!! Raymond wasn't lying when he said they were the best. All 5 of us agreed that they were the best cinnamon rolls we have ever had, and lo and behold then had a conversation about what makes a good cinnamon roll - these check ALL of the boxes. We are still talking today about the great atmosphere, service and drinks/food at this establishment. And yes, there may STILL be talk about the cinnamon rolls. Don't sleep on this place!

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
