    Veal parmigiana
    A R.

Visited during restaurant week. Converted to a pop-up called Parmed for the winter months. The veal parmigiana was excellent. Crispy breading, tender veal and just enough cheese and sauce. Spaghetti side was good portion. Service was good. Mark very friendly and efficient. Filled up the night we were there. This should be a winter success with Italian comfort food.

For me - eating oysters is about the entire experience. The presentation was so off point. Using regular ice and crushed ice?

I was thinking about relocating to the Buffalo area and wanted to see the city in all of its summer glory. My son and I were looking for things to do/restaurants over the 4th of July holiday in Buffalo and I love oysters. I saw that they were hosting an oyster bar that weekend. I should have known better not to eat Oysters in July - but it's hard to get me to resist oysters on a menu. Not being a native of Buffalo, we didn't realize this restaurant was located in a tourist area of the city. Having said that, it was the type of restaurant you would find in a tourist location. We were sat on a lovely patio overlooking the water, which was stunning on a glorious summer day. We waited about 10-15 minutes before a server came to our table. I would have excused this - if the restaurant was busy (it was not). When a server did arrive, my son ordered a Coke or Pepsi and I believe I just had water. We saw my son's soda sitting on a counter and it was never brought to our table. When the server did arrive to take our order, we told him we didn't receive our drinks. I ordered a wedge salad (when that arrived, I didn't even know what to think) - was this the buffalo version of a wedge salad? I also ordered 6 oysters. They arrived on a bed of ice - like I've never seen - half regular ice and half crushed ice. Shotty to say the least. We could not wait to finish our meals and leave. When the server finally arrived back at the end of our meals - he was a wonderful person. Just must have been an "off" day for him. I hate leaving less than stellar reviews. We just won't be back.

Most of the time I leave reviews for restaurants and businesses I enjoy. The Liberty Hound deserved a low review for a plentiful of reasons. To start off we ordered half a dozen of oysters on the half shell we were both ill that night ! I understand at establishments where raw food is consumed you are warned of the possibility of food borne illnesses but aside from the oysters and their poorly presented ice it seemed as if the staff didn't put loving effort into anything at all. Ordered a wicked tuna burger as my entree, mushy, messy, and way too sweet, fell apart in my hands the minute I took a bite. When we ordered our beverages it took almost 15 minutes to receive them the server had poured them but another issue had caught his attention and we ended up receiving flat coke after the oysters. It's a shame that Buffalo is home to very unpleasant dining experiences unhealthy and poor quality food. I would not recommend visiting The Liberty Hound

Conveniently located at Canalside with indoor table and bar seating, as well as outdoor patio seating. We came for an early dinner on a Monday around 4:00 and it was busy and loud in the dining room... almost too loud to carry on a conversation. They take reservations and walk ins. I ordered the lobster roll which came with a pickle and fries and really enjoyed it. My only disappointment is that I wish there were more fries because they were delicious! In addition to their food menu, there have a full bar with several beers on tap. Recommend giving them a try!

I didn't even know this place existed at Canalside. My friend and I were exploring the area and we opted to sit here because we were starving. In my opinion, the menu is kinda limited if you don't like fried food or seafood. We started off with the Ahi tuna nachos. They weren't bad but I wish they took the sodium level a few notches down. There also wasn't even tuna on it. I opted for the buddha bowl because I don't care for fried food. The buddha bowl consisted of a lot of fresh and healthy ingredients such as edamame, cucumber, tofu, seaweed salad, carrot, etc. It was also ok. I wasn't impressed at all.

Decided to spend one of the last beautiful days of summer eating alfresco at this waterfront gem. Monday afternoon, not crowded, no wait. We have been here for drinks before, but never food . Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. My husband and I both opted for a draft beer. I had the chicken and Brie sandwich with a side salad. My husband opted for the Market Salad. Food was plentiful, prepared well and delicious. Would definitely return!

We visited friends in Buffalo, New York, who wanted to show us the newly revitalized downtown area, especially Canalside at the west end of the Erie Canal. After exploring the entire area, we were ready for a bite to eat. Our friend recommended Liberty Hound, as it's always packed in the evenings. Luckily, we went on a weekday around lunchtime and had no trouble getting a table. We got a waterfront spot overlooking the canal, and our server quickly took our drink orders. I ordered the Painkiller shown in the picture and ended up having two. For food, our friend enjoyed a delicious chicken sandwich with truffle fries, my wife had a beef on Weck sandwich with fries, and I indulged in a big bowl of fat, juicy mussels with a broth that required two loaves of bread to soak up.

The food is great! The Service is the definition of TERRIBLE! The waiter walks slower than the customers. She didn't even asked if we wanted refills. And the cleanliness of our table was horrible. Dirt on the chairs, and it was practically bug valley in there, mosquitoes and flies in every nook and cranny. I got the Liberty Burger. It was, well, even McDonalds could top it. Food: 3.6 stars Service: 1.3 stars Ambiance: 2.1 Overall: 2 stars

The burger was really good but messy loved the fries and would definitely come back. And is the best food ever

    Salmon special was delicious

Was in town and stayed across the street with co-workers. We all ate there several different days and had different dishes and everything was insanely delicious. We mostly had the seafood dishes or sandwiches. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous view on the water! We had a few drinks at the high top tables at the end of the dock and also had dinner outside. I really liked the hurricane drink. Food was pretty decent with delish side salad. Wait was long because they were short people in the kitchen. Overall I would recommend

I have not been here in awhile. I was able to enjoy one of the last gorgeous summer days on their patio. I indulged with a cold glass of rose and was delighted with my shrimp and crab tostadas. I thought this would be a snack with the rising food costs. I was shocked when 2 huge tostadas came out that were loaded with shrimp and crab meat. There was more seafood than lettuce, that never happens. The shrimp were very big, and both seafood items were very fresh. There was plentiful amounts of both pico de gallo and avocado to round this out. The tostadas were crust and a nice crunch to the dish. I was full after this and wanting more. I need to go back very soon! Good service and the patio was perfect. I highly recommend to eat and have drinks on nice weather days.

What's the average wait time at 6 on a Saturday 😬?

It varies depending on the wether and what's happening at Canalside. Sometimes there's no wait sometimes it's more like an hour. Hard to say what the average is. I would call ahead about 20 minutes to inquire about the wait time and possibly get… Read more

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

So it was a pleasant surprise when a friend and I decided that we'd stop by. This was their first time here and admittedly I was happy because they haven't had many pleasant food experiences in Buffalo. I believe they haven't been going to the best places but that's another conversation for another day. Okay so let's dig into the experience. We were running late and arrived at approximately 9:40 pm. I was nervous that we'd either a) be turned away or b) not get the best service since it was so close to the time that they closed. Let me be the first to say that that was not the case at all. We were seated in the most perfect little nook tucked away near the door. Dimly lit but cozy for good vibes and good food. Our server Megan came over and she was truly delightful. She provided really great recommendations. It was the perfect mix of personal reccs, insight on bestsellers, and answers to our mainy questions. We ultimately settled on two pizzas, fried rice, and a buyer (not pictured). The food came out in a timely manner. The drinks were incredible and the service was undeniable. Special shoutout to Megan again for offering a one of a kind experience. Misc: There's a parking lot next door to the building never knew. Prices are a tad steep but the vibes are good.
