Underground's Espresso Martini with whipped cream
    Allison B.

We LOVED this spot. Picked on a whim and so glad we did. I visited when it was a different place (Shupper House?) and was just unnnncomfortable for most of the time - this is a 180 and then some. Had an espresso martini and it's topped with what looks like house made whipped cream?! Love. We got calamari and wings and both were awesome - crispy, seasoned, great portion size. Server was great, serving assistant was attentive, everything was great. Back room opens up to a great half enclosed patio / large tv wall and seating in the back that is apparently bumping at night time. We will absolutely be back and can't wait to make it part of our stomping ground!

My fiance stopped there during St. Patricks Day, and then came home and proclaimed we had to go there soon. We ended up going on a Sunday at around 1pm, and it was nice and quiet. We met his aunts to catch up. I ordered the bullit old fashioned and came to the conclusion that is one whiskey I do not care for. We ordered the bourbon black.garlic wings for an app to split. They were incredible. The flavor was chefs kiss. I ordered the double smash burger gluten free roll and it was great. Not the best roll I've had, but not bad. A little too crumbly. I prob order no roll next time. Phil got the fig sandwich ans liked that and everyone else ordered burgers. It was very good. It is a cozy atmosphere. They also have a back room. I will definitely be going back.

When you first arrive it's the bar in front then the seating in the back. It's nice and dark and has your average Irish bar feel. The service was great! Our waitress was super attentive and checked in on us a lot. Very great attitude! And the food was delicious!!! The burgers were so juicy with the perfect amount of toppings. The fresh cut fries were seasoned and delicious! Will be back here for sure!

We had a great time at this bar! It's a fun location and the staff were so great. Joey was quick, nice, and made a lovely espresso martini! If you are looking for a fun bar scene, I'd recommend stopping in. We didn't try the food but everything looked amazing!

Great cocktails and patio seating! Dinner was fabulous very cute restaurant featuring 3 bar locations and a great outside patio area. The food was delicious, id recommend the steak frites. The did gave a smaller menu than expected and our waiter was unable to make the drinks we requested and our waitress was a little slow. May have hit them on an off day but we will definitely be back!

First, the bar/restaurant is so cute. It's old school but modern. We had great service sitting at a table in the bar room. I think we got our food in 30 minutes on a Friday night. We got the bulgogi cheesesteak and the chuck Norris chicken sandwich with the chimichurri potato salad. We loved everything! The cheesesteak was spicy and cheesy and delicious beef. The breading on the chicken sandwich was delicious! It says it's spicy but it really wasn't. I would love to see a fish fry on the menu with the captain crunch coating! The menu looked great- asian influence. I'll definitely be back to try more- the specials sounded good too! Also- great wine pour! $10 glasses but they do fill it up!

I had been wanting to try this place for a while, but it seemed like they're always super busy, full parking lot and cars parked all along the street every time we went by. There is not a method of reserving a table online. We decided to go in night before Thanksgiving around 5:30pm, early enough to beat the crowd. The front bar area was already pretty busy, still a couple of empty tables. We were invited to sit anywhere by the host, so we headed toward the quieter back room. The space is large with a second full bar, large tv screens on the walls, and an exit and bay door out to the patio. The overall decor is classic pub, welcoming and not too bright. The back room was spacious but it was cold, especially when someone opened a door to the patio, which happened a lot. The menu has a variety of dishes, and many gluten free choices, deciding what to try was hard, and we needed a little extra time. The braised short ribs and mashed potatoes were amazing. Hubs couldn't say enough about the burger and potato salad. I'm looking forward to my next visit so I can try something else. Please note that the address on Yelp (315) vs the actual address (2115) on Seneca St are in very different neighborhoods. I suggested the change, hopefully it gets approved. This restaurant is across the street from Grey Havens Tattoo, and Cookies and Cream, in South Buffalo. The listed address is downtown. The front entrance has a large step up into a narrow entryway, but the side patio entrance is flat/accessible.

My first time at Dog and Pony and it won't be my last! Great location near Shea's Seneca, great to see what is happening in this area. I was able to meet a friend for dinner and I tried the Korean Brussels sprouts and the winter squash salad. Both were delicious, had hearty portions and left me full even though it was a veggie heavy meal. Sprouts were crispy, not too spicy and perfectly cooked. The salad had plenty of toppings and was a great mix of fall themed items. Service was awesome and she had some great pointers on the food and cocktail menu. A great outdoor covered patio and plenty of gluten free menu options make this place a slam dunk.

Absolutly amazing!! The food was beyond my expectations. The Duck Confeti was amazing and the steak frites were seasoned to perfection! I highly recommend Dog and Pony!!

This may not look like much, but the service and unique food items are amazing. The server was quick to get drinks and go over any menu questions we had. The miso wings were crispy, and the Brussel sprouts were full of flavor. We got the shisito peppers and they were extremely hot. The server was wonderful and gave us a tip about peppers and when they are in season, they are hotter than when they are not. So, beware ordering peppers in the fall. The short ribs were so tender and delicious. They even had carrot cake for dessert with no nuts or raisins which is my favorite. Not many restaurants do that.

New to the South Buffalo area, this pub has been getting a lot of buzz . Four of us dined on Friday night - I was impressed with our attentive server , she was on top of it ,despite the crowds . I chose Adobo Chicken on the specials menu . For $22, the entree was kind of small , but I really enjoyed the flavor of the dish and polished off my plate . Everyone else enjoyed their food at our table as well, except we all agreed that the chicken wings could have used more sauce . I was a bit concerned, as I noticed there was an additional $40 hold put on my credit card , but it was released after a few days . I would check out other menu options at Dog and Pony again , and would recommend it to others .

Thank God I have a friend who still reads the paper. He read an article in the gusto regarding this spot and said we have to go try. Glad we did. Food was super amazing. There is a parking lot on the side. We lucked up got spots out front. When first walking in, it's a small space, but I went to the bathroom and noticed another whole bar and table area with TV's. It's a long restaurant not wide. Don greeted us said we can sit where we like. Don was friendly and nice. He was handling the lunch crowd which was a nice size and he did it well and with a smile. The menu has some interesting flavor profiles. I wanted to try it all. We started with the braised pork belly. They were juicy, flavorful and tender. For our meals we ordered Cluck Norris sandwhich, battered with Capitan crunch!!! The chicken was a thigh which of course absorbed all the other flavors that were in it(see menu) and was juicy and crunchy. Definitely a top 5 chicken sandwhich in buffalo with a reasonable price! You have a choice of fries or potato salad. We went with the fries. They were definitely fresh cut potatoes cooked to perfection, and seasoned well! Bulgogi cheese steak sandwich! Hear me out Korean style marinaded shaved beef, house kimchi(not over powered funky normal kimchi) pickled jalapenos, caramelized onions, Swiss american cheese with gochunjang aioli, this was amazing. Amazing Korean flavors, but maintained the taste of a cheese steak!!! Here we went with the potatoe Salad. I know I'm always saying I'm a Mac and cheese snob, well I'm even worse with potato salad. Well they knocked it out the park with this chimichurri potatoe salad. When it came with it's green color I panicked..lol but nope what a spin on a classic dish. Everything was so good, I had to order a few more items to go Chicken wings..went with the miso bbq wings. The wings were cooked perfectly. I personally was not a fan of the sauce I choose, but that's purely a personal preference. And they could of had more sauce. Shishito smashed burger. Double patty, Cheddar cheese, chimichurri aioli, shishito bacon jam. Another grand slam of flavor. They didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked, but low and behold was cooked they way I like it (no pink). Everything tasted fresh and homemade! I see why they had a write up. Well deserved. I will definitely be back, not at working lunch so I can try some of there cocktails ! And pray one day they land on door dash!!

Feels like home to me. 2) They always host grand bands/DJs resulting in really fun shows that draw interesting groups of people. You really won't have a boring night if you end up stopping here. 3) (Semi-related to reason #1) Super affordable! Depending on the night and what band is playing, the cover charge isn't bad. Well drinks are $3-4 and beers can be even cheaper. You really can't beat it. My only gripe is that it's always sort of cold in there? I get it, it's an old building, not much they can do. You're not living if you don't spend some time at Mohawk Place. It's my favorite place to catch a show in Buffalo!

Drink pricing and selection were very reasonable. I arrived around 6 on a Saturday, and just missed their cover charge. I was told the band did not start until at least 8, and while I appreciate a good dive and live music, I would be hard pressed to pay a cover here. Some patrons said that it is too loud to enjoy socially when a band is playing, which I can see given the size of the place. The bathroom graffiti was definitely more creative than most! (Yes, I'm weird guys lol) It's definitely a place I would return again if bar hopping, but not somewhere I'd be comfortable going alone at night (speaking of the location, not the establishment itself)

I visit the city every year in the fall, and I am still trying all of the wing places that have been recommended. The latest on my list was Doc Sullivan's, a very, VERY local watering hole. This is the kind of place that makes you immediately remember that you are absolutely not from here, but in the best possible way. Doc's is a historic, no-frills neighborhood pub smack in the heart of South Buffalo's Irish Heritage district. The second we walked in as clearly obvious outsiders, the entire room of rough-and-tumble regulars seemed to pause their conversations, turn towards the door, and stare at us. Even the bartender (who also doubled as the host and our waiter) clocked us immediately with a cheerful, "Hey visitors!" It was hilarious and broke the awkwardness we were starting to feel. Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming once the moment passed, but it was clear we stood out from the regular crowd. If you have an aversion to dive bars, this is not the place for you because Doc's is not fancy. It's well-worn and smells like Fabuloso cleaner mixed with stale cigarette smoke and old beer. I was surprised at how clean the place was, but it does have that dive bar smell and feel. I felt like I'd walked onto a movie set because this place screams Buffalo, and does so loudly and proudly. I'm not a fan of chicken wings, but my hubby is. Food-wise, he ordered a half dozen of the famous Smitty Wings at the suggestion of the bartender, which come coated in the house's unique spiced butter sauce along with a half dozen with hot sauce. He liked the Smitty wings fine, but preferred the classic hot Buffalo wings, which he said had legit heat and were "more than decent." Not his all-time favorite wings, but still tasty and meaty enough to earn his respect. I went with the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was massive. It was a fried chicken breast patty on a super soft, fresh roll with lettuce, tomato, and onions, tossed in a mild Buffalo sauce that had just enough heat for a timid spice girl like me. The quality was good, but not great, and it was basically the same chicken sandwich you can get at dozens of places around town (it was very similar to the same menu item at the Anchor Bar, for example). The fries were nothing special, and they tasted like regular old french fries you'd get at your local deli. They were freshly fried, hot and crispy, and we both appreciated that malt vinegar was already on the table. We had a good experience at Doc Sullivan's, but agreed that we would not go out of our way to eat here again. I wouldn't call it a must-do for foodies, but I'm still really glad we went. While the food wasn't all that memorable, it felt like a true local Buffalo experience that you don't get at polished, tourist-friendly spots. This is the place if you want to soak up local character and are seeking another stop on your buffalo wing eating tour.

The smitty wings just tasted like mild buffalo sauce and the honey cajun was pretty good. My issue was with the "ranch" sauce because it tasted like straight horseradish and every bite left a bitter aftertaste. The poutine fries would've been good if they didn't make the gravy with the power of the pacific ocean with how salty it is. All time favorite is def it's the hot honey pizza rolls, so bomb!
