My friends and I visited 42N for the first time and I was impressed by the ambiance and the service here. We were given ample time for our entire party to arrive and were not rushed at all. Our waitress was wonderful. I was debating between a couple items on the menu and opted for a salad. I ordered the Beet & Burrata salad ... um lol well if you would call it that. Two of us ordered this and we both were surprised when it came out to say the least. Basically a couple pieces of lettuce on top of chopped beets under a spicy-ish hollandaise type dressing over burrata. Or I'm assuming the dressing was what was a tad spicy. However I couldn't figure it out lol. There were a couple tiny smoked peach pieces on the side...just too smoky for my taste. Would have preferred just a fresh grilled peach. Also added a side of chicken to toss on my "salad" thinking it had a whole bed of lettuce, however could have avoided ordering that had I seen a picture of this salad beforehand - so I threw that in for you all in case you're on the fence of what to order. It was good if you like beets, but not really filling since the portion was pretty small. Loved the presentation though, gotta give them that. I also had the Oz-molitan... cosmo with blood orange ...delicious! If you like fruity drinks get it!! I tried my friends' fresh cut regular fries, the truffle fries, and also some of the pepperoni flatbread (I forget exactly what it was called, apologies) but all of those were to die for! I almost wished I had ordered those myself haha. Oh well, next time! Went on a Thursday night at about 6:30pm. There was a party going on and a show at Shea's so it was packed. We had to wait about 10 mins to sit at the end of the bar. The inside was super cute. It is on main street with the train track so there is basically no parking in the vicinity so it's a cold walk during winter. We ordered Kugel Latke for an appetizer. It was fine, it tasted like uncrisp tater tots. If there was a sauce of sorts to dip it in, it would have been better besides just potato. For mains we shared two half pizzas the Fig& Pig and the Pepperoni + Honey. They were both fine, they were half sized but still didn't seem like a lot. The person I was with thought it was too much fig, but I had no problem so that is preference. Though the pork belly was mainly fat. The people with us weren't fans of their food either. They also added Truffle fries and were told it would be extra which they agreed to, but it was an additional $9 not jut 2 or 3. For the service, we assumed it was all due to the massive party but it wasn't that great. We were right in front of the bartender and our water was refilled once the entire time we were there. We also didn't get silverware and when we asked for napkins we got a single paper one. We were also at the end of the bar which is where the severs would stand or get the food which was directly next to us which was a bit annoying due to the proximity, they were as close as sitting next to us at a table. No one checked on us either thoughtout our time. Overall, the food was fine, nothing amazing. I'm assuming they get a lot of Shea's traffic which is fine if you want a drink with a snack. I would not come here for an actual meal as it is a limited menu and you don't get a lot. The service wasn't great, but we're going with it was due to the large party. None of us will be returning. Came here during happy hour and had a great experience. We didn't have a reservation and there wasn't room at the bar, but they reserve a few high top tables at the front for walk ins where you can order by QR code and it was easy and convenient. We both got flights and they came out quick. I'd absolutely come back again for drinks and would try their food too. read more

We stopped here for dinner before Sheas. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Some of the tables are a bit close together, FYI. We both ordered cocktails and wine and enjoyed each. Both the Hollywood and Dirty Chai were tasty and well made! Service was timely and our waitress was kind. It did get a little loud with the high ceilings and was difficult to hear our server at times. We both enjoyed our food! We got the special fish fry, which was huge! We also got a side salad and the craftsman burger. The burger was a smashed patty with a pretzel bun- had great flavor and the beer cheese was outstanding! My son and I came for dinner before seeing The Lion King at Shea's. The close proximity and menu were the biggest initial draws, but the service and quality is why this place will be my top choice for future trips to the theater district. The venue is small but feels very open and spacious with high ceilings. There's a piano in one corner though nobody was playing. Very easy to hear and brightly lit relative to other brew pubs. I tried The Hollywood. It's made with bourbon, honey syrup, and grapefruit juice but the juice is very subtle so it tasted a lot like my favorite cocktail the bourbon and honey (or Goldrush) which is hard to get anywhere else despite dating back to prohibition, even bourbon bars. They have a lot of fun mocktail options, too. We both had burgers, but my son had the one with bacon and crispy onions. Smash burgers aren't my favorite since I prefer a juicy medium rare, but it was still good. My son had truffle fries with garlic aioli and I had regular fries with the beer cheese in mind. The beer cheese was good, but the truffle fries with garlic aioli is better. Our server was excellent. My son didn't finish his fries, but she gave us a couple small soup containers I could fit in my winter coat pockets to save us a trip back to the car. Great restaurant. read more

We stopped in here before heading to Shea's for a show one night. I have been to 42N in East Aurora and loved it so figured this would be a great spot before Shea's. Turns out, I was right! The Flats is a phenomenal spot to stop at when you're downtown, especially before a show. There was a good size crowd here that night but we were seated right away. We each had a couple of drinks which were great. They had a few mocktail and NA options too which was awesome! We went with the pretzels and mustard and a small plate of truffle fries. The portions here are big and we could barely eat everything! The pretzels were so big but also soft and just the right amount of salt. The plate of fries was a larger portion than we expected but they were so good and flavorful. All of the menus were available digitally and you could even order from your phone if you wanted something extra and your server was busy. Great idea and it made paying and ordering so easy. Everything about our dinner here went perfectly! We came here because they had a vegan flatbread option but will be returning for several reasons. It was very easy to make a last minute reservation online but it turned out that we didn't need it. We were sat right away and the service continued to be excellent all night. The server knew just the right amount of when to come to the table, not too much that we were annoyed but not so little that we were left waiting. She also happily took several pictures for us at the end. Everything looked and felt very clean. The food and drinks were great and I was happy to see an entire non-alcoholic "zero proof" section of the drink menu as well. Cool little bar for our last stop of the night. Caught a bit of the Dodger game on the TV's they have behind the bar. Place is really clean and a lot of open space. Wasn't too busy, so the bartenders had time to talk to us and they were very nice and friendly. I was done for the night and just had a water, but my buddies had the asylum porter and they said it was one of the better porters they have had. We didn't eat any food, but I saw someone eating a pizza and another person eating a hamburger and it looked pretty good. Wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night, but the bartender said it gets pretty busy when the theatre is going on and they get the theatre crowd that comes in. First is that there were only a few people at the bar and maybe one other table, yet there was quite a wait for our food to come out. Normally we hit up Bijou before a Sheas performance. They were full so went looking for another place open. Sunday nights are scarce for restaurants! Not 42N at the flats!! It got good reviews already and I like beer...so, win-win! We started with the brisket beef on Weck dip with flatbread. There were only four pieces and a generous amount of dip. Enough for two hungry diners and a taste for four people, if you go that way. I would suggest they give you two more pieces of flatbread. We also ordered a pepperoni, hot honey flatbread to split as we didn't want leftovers going to the show. I have to say that this was the tastiest flatbread I ever had. Most of the time they are bland and way too bread-y. This one was super tasty and the toppings were great. Generous cheese that gave you that squeak on your teeth. So, you know it's real cheese. For one regular diner and one that eats like a bird, we had a hard time finishing. There's plenty of beer on tap and a full cocktail menu. My daughter got the espresso-chai which she really liked. I had a west coast hazy IPA that I really enjoyed, or maybe two! The restaurant has reg tables, high top tables and bar seating, of which all are nice seating. The restaurant is very upscale for a brewery, but they have a full menu so maybe I shouldn't call it a brewery. They are open for almost all Sheas performances. Really glad we came here. read more

This was our first time visiting the new 42 spot downtown and we had a great experience overall! First off, the space is awesome. It's spacious, modern, and the bar is so cool. I would definitely come just to sit at the bar when looking for drinks downtown! The espresso martini was really good, would recommend it. Our truffle fries and burger were also delicious. The wings we got were Cajun and didn't have a ton of flavor, so we asked for Nashville sauce on the side and that was actually delicious. Personally I wouldn't get those wings again but the menu does have a lot of options. This is a new spot for our list of places before a show downtown for sure! read more

3.5 stars. We went here for dinner before a show at Sheas. It is definitely very convenient to the venue. I wish that I could agree with the others about the food. The hummus was actually quite good. The carrots, cucumbers and pita were very fresh. The wings were also a nice size and well seasoned. They use not so great blue cheese, which to me is a huge no-no. I am a blue cheese makes the wing kind of girl. The biggest disappointment for me was the hot honey and pepperoni flat bread. It had very little flavor and not enough toppings. I had a cinnamon peach cocktail, it was ok. My husband did not enjoy his beer. I know I am in the minority here, but we likely won't be back. Service was ok. (Big Ditch...I'm looking at you). 42 North's Main Street location does indeed deliver on the beers, they are delicious. But the lovely surprise was their food! Every dish my party had, from the sharables to the sandwiches, were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. And while most "flatbread" pizzas available at sports bars and pubs are phoned-in, the ones here are true pizzas. Great toppings, flavorful nuanced crust, really worth a try! We went to 42N at the Flats before a Shea's performance. We were seated promptly for our reservation. We ordered seared tuna for an app, the Taproom burger and the harvest salad. All food was very good and presented nicely. One big improvement can be made with the harvest salad. It included field greens, seeds, and a delicious dressing... however the butternut squash and apples slices were sized for a "Barbie" salad. The squash was cut so small, a toothpick would be the utensil of choice!! Same with the apple ... My husband ordered the only dessert choice available which was a small piece of shortbread with a brownie on top with mousse and a caramel drizzle . Not worth the calories in my opinion. We ordered food and it got delivered to the wrong table. We asked for an update after 1 hr and the food runner blamed the table who accepted the order. No apology on their end- A bartender offered us drinks- but we were already hungry and drinks would've made us drunk. We tried tipping in cash and zeroing out the online tip option but that wasn't possible. So we double tipped for pretty bad service. Food and drinks were so good but service was less than optimal and we tipped like 40%. Either need to fix the payment and table running portion or get servers who can read which table food goes to, or adults who can apologize when they mess up so we dont have to write a public review of poor service :( read more

Chef's kiss! We happened upon this gem when giving up on the line at Duff's for buffalo wings. Little did we know not only were we going to have the best buffalo wings in the world but also the best lunch too. Two of us are mostly vegetarian. We had the Bahn mi with tofu and the vegan pizza.... Delicious. The truffle fries were amazing too. My picky tween practically licked the plate his burger was on.
