Was at work wanted a quick bite and a beer and ended up here which was cool. All sauces are made in house the wings were cooked exactly to my liking and the beer was cold. Pool table dart board in the back will definitely be back once the Bills season starts will most likely be one of my spots during the season the owner was cool as well as staff stop on by!

Fun times, good drinks, nice music Go for a drink, get some food, hang out There's a nice dining room in back, casual, not fussy A place where neighborhood folks hang out

Great vibes, great service, great place. Came for open mic on Wednesdays and had a lovely time. The owners are super friendly and usually around. Divey place in Blackrock with a pool table in the back where you can hang with friends. Smoking patio out front where you can watch the world go by. I always have a good tule when I come here. Try it. You'll like it.

We were looking forward to trying their fish fry. Read some reviews that were positive but our experience wasn't great. Everything was over cooked and fish was salty. The Panko breaded fish fingers were good but the beer battered fish, hush puppies and French fries were fried too long. Wish we could write a better review. Sorry.

This place is awesome. Always different things going on from trivia, karaoke, live music, multiple DJs, burlesque, there's a pool table, a regulation shuffleboard, both plastic and steel tip darts. The food is great (try the mama bomb) and the bartenders are efficient and friendly. I love the all accepting attitude they have.

Loving cows and hot sauce to love.

Okay, I feel like I am cheating on my favorite dive bar in Buffalo, the Gypsy Parlor, by posting this review. But as much fun as the Gypsy is and as many cool things as it has going on and as much as I love the staff and the food, everybody is just soooooooo cooooooooool and working it and trying maybe just a little bit too hard and sometimes your old-school honkey-tonk inflected dive bar that has people older than 35 in it is what I want instead so that I, too, can be uncool and old and my lawd, does Hot Mama's fit the bill in terms of being a dank and gloomy and still oddly joyous and raucous dive of the old school, where people still carry cash and there are bands full of old dudes who know both their Neil Youngs and their Neil Diamonds and also, weirdly good food to go with the cheap drinks and and the no-nonsense service and the unbelievably friendly and chatty locals who buy you drinks four minutes after you've met them. That was the longest sentence that I've written since grad school and I'm not even sorry. Specs: One small, dark bar with chile pepper Christmas lights providing the main source of illumination to strain to read the oddly interesting and unexpectedly veg-friendly menu and take note of the tasty and eclectic variety of hot sauces; one intermediate parlor area that seems mainly to serve as the band stage; one dining area to do traditional sit-down service, making this really more a two-in-one than a straight dive bar. Paper straws for the drinks would be a good option here, and the cocktails could use a little more fuel, so I'll hold at four stars. But I am certainly coming back and I'm glad we decided to give Hot Mama's a go. On-street parking only. Cash clearly preferred but cards accepted. Establishment advertises itself as welcoming and inclusive.

Wow what a place. Everything homemade, great service, excellent music, solid drinks. Unfortunately they were out of the eggplant wings and The Grain Elevator ($11) was not the best substitute - the fried tomatoes and goat cheese were good, but just not as good as we imagine the eggplant wings were- but that was the only disappointment. The quesadilla and chicken Caesar salad were solid staples. W.C. Fields burger ($12.50) was amazing. Homemade sweet potato fries and onion rings were definitely worth the upcharge. Hand cut chicken fingers with housemade hot sauce was the highlight. Everyone, even the vegetarian, loved them! If you don't do spicy, get the sauce on the side and dip it instead. Worth the flavor even if you only have a little. Everything was delicious and our bill didn't break the bank (even better that the server split our check for us). We will be back!

Their speciality hot sauces. If you really like one you can buy a bottle for $7 or get a 4 pack for $24.

This has been on my list of places to try for a while and I'm glad I was finally able to come. All the anticipation and they did not disappoint. I went with a couple of friends on a Saturday. We wasn't sure what to expect because it was a bar/restaurant, on a Saturday night, with live music. Luckily it wasn't overly packed and we got seated right away. When you walk in, you are entered by a divey bar area with a decent amount of seating and some tabletop seating. There was live music as soon as we entered as well. Though it would have been nice to watch them perform, we opted to grab a table in the back because we knew we would need the space to try all of our food. Lucky for us, we were still able to hear the music because it was really nice. The inside is a decent size with burlesque style art along the walls. The lighting is dim but it goes with the ambiance and you can still see the menu and everything. We also appreciated the fact that despite how cold it was outside, it was nice and warm inside. Now for the food We tried a little of everything. We started with an order of the nacho fries which were fried to perfection and covered with nacho cheese and fresh jalapenos. We had an order of the eggplant wings which you can have fried plain or tossed in sauce. We opted for the sweet mango orange hot sauce which was a great balance if sweet and heat. They came out looking like chicken tenders and tasted soooo good. We got a mama bomb, which is a huge rice ball stuff with either vegetables or meat. They were out of the veggie bombs so we got the meat version which was pulled pork. I wish they had a bit more flavor but it did come with a side of chunky tomato sauce that had a nice flavor. We got an order of the beer battered fried pickles. I love pickles and I love fried pickles. So when she came out with 5 huge spears of fried dill goodness, I was in love. When you bite into it the pickle still had a crunch. You get that fresh dill flavor and then all of a sudden a shock of heat hits your mouth. This was one of my favorites. We also got the say cheese which is their twist on mozzarella sticks because instead they use white cheddar. The batter is was made the cheese sticks stand out to me. After all of this you're probably thinking there's no way they tried anything else. Don't underestimate this trip because we definitely did. ‍ I got the spicy mama burger which was a huge patty with fresh jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, a fresh huge sliced tomato and hot sauce. The flavors came together nicely and the burger was juicy and flavorful. I got a side of sweet potato fries which I can tell were not frozen. They definitely cut up a sweet potato and fried them. It came with a side of honey butter that had an extra surprise to the taste. I won't say what it was, but it was definitely a perfect addition. Another friend got the fish sandwich which was beer battered haddock with all the fixings on a hoagie. As much as it seems like a cool bar go hang out at. This is definitely a place for food. If you haven't been here you are missing out. Their food is reasonably, with nice size portions, and their drinks are cheap. If you usually drink from a straw when going out, do be mindful that they don't have plastic straws. But they do have metal straws that you can purchase for $1.25 and you get to keep it. I didn't just come home with leftovers, I am officially an owner of a metal straw.

I've been on somewhat of my own personal wing tour lately and I'm glad we tried Adolf's. We came on a Monday, which is their wing special night, 75 cent wings. We arrived a little before the 5:00 PM rush so we sat right at the bar, ordered and behold, the wings were in front of us in about 5 minutes! Service was very fast and friendly. We ordered hot, and the level of heat was exactly what hot is supposed to be. Saucy, but not swimming in excessive sauce. The wings were crispy outside and juicy inside, that elusive perfectly fried wing. We opted for the homemade blue cheese, and while I liked it, I found it didn't have a strong blue cheese flavor. But they do have two choices of blue cheese type. Carrots and celery were included, not always the case with wing night specials. I would call these elite level, top 10 in Buffalo wings, maybe even top 5. The only reason that I did not score 5 stars was that there we 7 drums and 3 flats - and I am a flat guy. This usually works out well because my wife likes the drums, but this time they definitely skewed in my wife's favor. If it were not the wing special night, I might have said something, but the wings were so good I did not want to register a complaint about the lack of flats. We also ordered the hand cut fries which were hot and excellent. We definitely plan to return.

He was a really nice guy and told me what his best menu items were. I had heard good things about the steak sandwich and hadn't had one in a while. I opted to get that with some fries. The fries were the best fries I've had. They taste like the ones from McDonald's only better because they aren't doused in salt. The sandwich was perfect. The steak was cooked exactly like it should be and the flavor was incredible. The peppers and onions on top added even more flavor but didn't overpower it. I don't think I've eaten anything faster in recent memory. No take out boxes needed here. The meal is too good not to eat right then. The bar also had a great vibe to it. I'm a big fan of old school style bars and establishments like this. The traditional architecture and nostalgic feeling is perfect here. It's not modernized like every other new bar built in the last decade. It's got character, a great menu, and excellent service. I will definitely be back for more lunch specials and enjoy this spot downtown.
