Fried Shrimp with German Potato Salad and Cole Slaw
    Meghan S.

We came here on a Friday and boy, was it busy. We heard great things about this place and had to try it for ourselves. Well, we still had to wait about 30 minutes. The food and service were well worth the wait We came here initially for the fish fry, But I ended up going for the fried shrimp with German potato salad, and it was beyond delicious. The shrimp were perfectly fried, not the greasy at all very easy to eat, and the German potato salad had the right amount of apple cider vinegar to bacon flavor that just made it to die for, the fish was perfectly fried not greasy at all and my husband just completely devoured the macaroni salad and German potato salad too. Our server was absolutely friendly and checked on us to make sure we were OK. The ambience is very warm and welcoming and a great place to have a the party definitely will become regulars here. Great job, Kodiak Jacks.

Food and service were great! Again, we found another gem on Yelp :) Live music, outdoor seating, outdoor bar, and friendly atmosphere. Some good choices on the menu; we had beef on weck and a salad ... both were delicious. I love French fries and these were amazing!! Motorcycle parking on the concrete pad. We'll be back again.

Good food, casual atmosphere, lots of locals but welcoming to newbees. Great to stop in after volleyball in Wednesday night or Taking your wife out on Saturday night. You'll like the wings. I had the shaved steak sandwich, awesome.

Well, i have reviewed this place before but my review has magically disappeared, so I'm going to do it again. My first review was a great review. We patronize this restaurant often and usually they give us reason to want to return but unfortunately our last two experiences were not so, which is incredibly disappointing as it used to be the go-to for us on a Friday night. The last two times that we have eaten here we have gotten the same waitress, and that is where our biggest complaint lies. The first time we were told by a regular waitress (who is always fantastic) that our waitress was new, which doesn't excuse how much she was ignoring our table, but we tried to just let it slide. The second time however, it was the same deal, she ignored our table, seemed to get irritated when we would ask for refills on drinks, or more dressing, etc. She chose to socialize with other employees (right next to our table) instead of checking in on our table, and the interesting thing is that I did not see her ignore other tables as much as ours. What's the deal??? However, I try to not give a restaurant a poor review solely on customer service, because while it can make or break an experience, it's the food that should be the bigger focus. Our last meal here was shockingly disappointing. the salad I got had chicken on it that tasted fishy and soapy, the fish that another member of our party got was so incredibly salty it was almost impossible for them to eat, and they normally load on the salt. Usually the food here is spot on. Our experience was so disappointing that it provoked us to leave a comment in their comment box. That was over a month ago and we have heard no response at all. I think that is what puts us off the most. Some sort of contact would have been appreciated! I hope that Kodiak's is just experiencing some hiccups and that one day again, I will be writing a better review!

Very nice girls and we had a party of 6 to accommodate and everything was perfect! For the food, I ordered deviled eggs which were just the perfect egg yolk to mayo ratio. Not overpowering and had great seasonings. The burger was clearly the star of the meal. Lots of options to choose from - bbq, mushroom, black bean, etc. I would like to come back to try more. Seasoning food after the fact is fine, but never as good as during the preparation. My seabass was tasteless and was sat on top of a mediocre risotto...which is saying something since it was a Gouda and red pepper risotto. Also unseasoned overcooked green beans on the side. Criminal at the price. My husband's giant steak was also under-seasoned as were the sad mashed potatoes and carrots that came along with it. The steak was good quality, cooked fine, but could have been exceptional if it had any flavor beyond being a good piece of meat. The Thai shrimp appetizer was good but if you put Thai chili sauce on anything it will taste good. The scallop was decent but again not really seared well and lacking flavor even with the balsamic drizzle. Would not come back to waste hundreds of dollars on overpriced unseasoned food again. I will say the service was good and the staff were lovely. Too bad the food is mid. Drive to a real restaurant that cares about their food prep like Prescotts provisions or Oliver's or Black Iron bystro. Skip Rick's.

We grabbed seats at the bar, which was packed (always a good sign). My friends kicked things off with specialty cocktails: a blackberry lemon drop and some kind of honey bourbon masterpiece. Apparently both were dangerously delicious, because they each ended up having three. (For the record, before anyone gets concerned, I was the responsible chauffeur and got everyone home safely.) One friend originally had her heart set on the Rachel, but they were out of turkey and her backup choice of portobello mushrooms, so she pivoted to the French onion soup instead. She was happy with her choice, although we all agreed it felt slightly offensive to be eating soup when it should've been warm enough outside to retire soup season. As for burgers: I successfully convinced my other friend to order one, because these burgers are just that good. She got the stuffed banana pepper burger, and it absolutely delivered. Honestly, if you tell me a burger is overloaded with chorizo, I'm already halfway in love with it. I decided to cross another burger off my personal bucket list and went with the goat cheese burger. As someone who strongly believes toppings should be bordering on excessive, I would've loved a little more goat cheese and pickled red onions, or maybe a slightly bigger patty to better match the bun. But did that minor critique stop me from demolishing every last bite? Not even a little. My only tiny complaint: I could've gone for a few more fries... though my stomach probably disagrees. Huge shoutout to Kelly behind the bar, who was an absolute rockstar all night. Friendly, quick, and somehow simultaneously making cocktails, margaritas, and what felt like half the drinks in the building. Overall, I was happy to treat my neighbor friends--who do so much for my kids and me--to a fun, delicious dinner.
