First time eating here. Always nervous when trying a new place to eat. Rarely am I as happy with a new place as we were here. Very clean comfortable atmosphere. Large selection on the menu and specials sheet. Savannah, our server, was awesome. Prices were super reasonable IMO. The food... WOW! Portion sizes were great. French onion and Buffalo chicken wing soups were the first signs this place was going to be good. The fish fry was huge and the plentiful sides were homemade and delicious. German potato salad was the highlight. Wife's reuben was massive and came with a ton of fries. Sandwich was loaded with meat and very flavorful. Can't suggest this place strong enough. I wish I could give this place 2.5 stars. Most of the stars are for the food being pretty abundant and food decently priced. The waitress was very abrupt and short with us but I assume she was busy. I was also a huge fan of the French fries but the chicken fingers were some of the worst ones I've had. There were clumps of fat in the chicken, but I'd blame that more on the supplier than the restaurant. The Jamaican jerk chicken fingers appeared to be barely cooked. I bought most of them home, threw them in the air fryer, and then they were pretty good, besides the random clumps of fat. I also wish the drink menu had $ listed on them, but this is common at many restaurants. My friends beef on weck looked good, so I would consider trying that if we were to visit in the future. Why does a restaurant ask how you want a burger cooked if they're not going to make sure it's cooked the way the customer wants it? I have given the Elma Town Grill many chances and things have been wrong multiple times. We usually order from there because of convenience as it is two miles away from our house. We ordered three cheeseburgers, all medium rare and they all came well done. My son only ate half the burger and mine was so dry I gave most of it to my dog. $60 down the drain. Prices are getting ridiculous and the quality is getting worse no matter where you go. read more

We were there with a group for lunch. Walking in I saw the sign "small fish fry". Seemed like more than enough for lunch and I was right. It was a generous serving of fried fish with Cole slaw, pasta salad (shells this time!) and fries and a container of tartare sauce. The fish was perfect, the Cole slaw and pasta salad were very good too. The fries however were comme si, comme sa. Not crunchy and even a bit soggy. All in all a nice meal for only $10.99! Now work on the fries and it will be a perfect meal. read more

I ordered the turkey Reuben and didn't notice from the menu it was made with Cole slaw instead of sauerkraut - not a good substitute. Was impossible to pick up and eat like a sandwich so I deconstructed it and ate the components separately. Could only eat half and left the other half. The fries were good. read more

These potato skins seemed to be very old and reheated several times. Not to mention they were burned. They were disgusting. The fact that they had the nerve to serve these is amazing. We will not be back here. Save your money and find a different place to eat. read more

Portions, portions and more portions. I have never been here and have passed it a few times, but decided to come here on our way to Marilla Country Store. I ordered the blt cheeseburger quesadilla. I thought a nice small lunch, boy I was wrong. I was huge and about an inch thick. It was very good but only could eat 2 on the slices. I also tried the sweet potatoe jalapeno soup. Was very good and sweet, there was not heat from the jalapeno. My Hubby had the cuban. He could only eat half. And the Fries - covered 3/4 of the plate so he had enough to share with me. As our adventure continues in search of the best of WNY restaurants for soups and chili's we found this little gem last night. Tucked away and nestled in the quiet little town of Elma, New York about 14 miles East of the city of Buffalo, this amazing place has it all. We had reservations for 6 and we seated right away. Jen our server was fast, funny and the kindness lady. Soup! What do they have for soups? Wow, French Onion, Buffalo Chicken Wing, a very delicious vegetable and mushroom. Absolutely , outstanding! Our group ordered fish fry's to their fried bologna sandwich and a huge plate of goulash. I can write on about the Elma Towne Grille however , better yet, stop in and check them out. Yummy. There are 8 quesadilla choices: beef, chicken, pulled pork, veggie, just cheese, Greek chicken, cheeseburger BLT, and shrimp. I asked our waitress what was in the veggie one. It is onions, peppers and cheese. I picked this one and was very happy with my choice. The quesadilla is made on a 10 inch soft taco, folded in half after it is very, very well stuffed with the onions, green peppers and cheese and then pressed. It is then cut into three sections. I managed to eat only one section at lunch, and one more at dinnertime. It is easily sharable! read more

For 10.99, I ordered a ceasar salad and added grilled chicken for an additional 4.99, The salad consisted of Romaine lettuce on the plate with a few croutons and a couple of shakes of Kraft parmesan cheese. The dressing was pre poured in a small plastic container. The grilled chicken was quite dry. My husband had a reuben sandwich which was so soggy, he couldn't pick it up. He used a knife and fork. My only issue was that my wine was served in a glass that felt like it had a grittiness feel to it (probably residue from the dish detergent) and the waitress brought back a new glass for me. First time at the Elma Towne Grille. Decided to try the Lenten fish fry. Waited not even 5 minutes before 6PM and was sat in the bat area. The atmosphere was great as it was not loud and the conversation was easily heard. Ordered quickly and received the food within 10 minutes! The beer batter was a golden crisp color, the fries were just the perfect amount of crisp, and the cole slaw and mac salads were delicious! Picked up a regular fish fry and an order of potato pancakes at ETG. We haven't eaten here in years, even though it's only about a mile from our house. Both items totaled a little under $23.00. Seems a little high for a fish fry. The fish was pretty large and crispy. The batter was a good thickness but lacked seasoning. The fish was flaky and cooked well. The fresh cut fries were thinly cut, greasy and a bit overdone. The coleslaw was great with the right amount of flavor and mayo-based sauce. The macaroni salad used large shells and had celery and egg with mayo. I added salt and it was pretty good. I actually really liked the larger, thicker pasta. The potato pancakes were crispy and tasty, albeit a bit salty. The sour cream and apple sauce accompanying the pancakes were perfect and made each bite a little more balanced (from the saltiness). read more

I have only been here once to eat with my family, and it was great. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars, is because of the to go order I ordered, and the condition it was in when I picked it up. You can see in my pictures, it wasn't pretty. The fish fry is falling through the container. The food was correctly made and good. It's just the condition. I picked it up early, so it wasn't sitting around, and the trip back home was 6 minutes, so it wasn't a waiting time issue. I will go back here to physically eat, but I do t think take out from here again is an option for me. Nice big place and plenty of parking. Went for dinner on a Thursday at 6 PM. Took quite some time for the server to come get our drink orders and even longer to get the drinks. We finally placed our food order after being seated for 15-20 minutes. Food didn't take terribly long but the chicken fingers and a few other things were over cooked and fries were pretty barely cooked but 1 of the 2 orders were cold. Some wrong dressings/condiments. Ordered salads, sandwiches/bar type food kind of hard to mess up but was all pretty much under or over cooked. Female server was very unfriendly but the nice younger gentleman who brought our food was great. Have tried this place a handful of times over the past 2-3 years and are more and more disappointed each time. Overall this place has just seemingly gone downhill over the years. read more

ETG has long been a go-to for my dad, as it's close to home, and more importantly, he likes their giant reubens. So when he's in the mood to get together for lunch I gladly venture out to Elma. Their food menu is huge, loaded with the usual crowd-pleasing fare. Nothing exotic or trendy - just good old traditional American staples. I appreciate their offering a "half" fish fry, which is still plenty big, and on the menu every day. Tiny selection of wines, but as our server put it, "It gets the job done." My glass of Cabernet was a very generous pour, and probably reasonably priced. (Since Dad was treating, I didn't see the check, and if the price was listed on the menu, I missed it.) Our server was really nice, and so accommodating. Brought us extra napkins and takeout boxes without our having to ask. I've been here so many times over the years, for lunch, dinner, holiday buffets and catered events. No hesitation recommending this place for a dependable meal at a fair price. read more

They have added 16 ounce, 32 ounce mixed drinks and all sorts of great concoctions and even 1.5 L bottles of wine for only $13. They have one of the best fish fries in town and you can't go wrong with their generosity in portions. Now more than ever it's important that we support local business and I ask that you please put this one on your list! They are delicious, their portions are ample, and they are locally owned and operated - they have a lot of employees that work hard it seems. I've never had poor service. I typically go for their chicken fingers but I recently got their fish fry. It was delicious! Super crispy with delicate flavor. They packaged the salads and rye bread separately which was a nice touch. Their fries are a-okay, not typically the kind I like but nothing to truly complain about. These guys have done an amazing job during Covid putting up a giant wedding tent in the parking lot in creating an outdoor environment that's actually cool. As always the food is fantastic, the wait staff are exceptionally attentive, although the day we were there we were in a thunderstorm where the place practically filled up with water, our family joked that we had her own water feature. And the staff made up for it by treating us with kindness and respect helping us move. The food is very good I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 it's about an eight they have some exceptional specials and a massive fish fry. Well worth the visit read more

So glad they offered my wife's favorite eggplant! They called it a vegetable lasagna but it was better than that no noddles just layered eggplant parm! read more

I love coming to this place because they have 3 soups everyday! I am a soup guy!! The prices are also VERY reasonable. Soups I tried this time were scalloped potato and tomato barley. Both were good! The other soup was sweet potato. The salad bar is pretty good too. You can add it to most meals for $3.99 My meal was two "mini" sandwiches of choice between- turkey, beef, pulled pork and cheeseburger. They were actually pretty full sized sandwiches!! They came with a side and the soup and salad bar- for a great price. My grandma ordered the 1/2 fish fry. They have fish daily and you can get it quite a few ways. It's also nice you can order a 1/2 portion that is just enough! She said the fish was very good and she ate it all which says a lot! The service is usually OK. We ordered take-out fish fries earlier this month. The online ordering was easy, you didn't need to sign up for a service or pay online. More restaurants should copy this. The food, however, was not to our liking. My fish fry was luke-warm even though it was brought out fresh, and it had a mushy consistency. The sides were all homemade, but very bland. We love going here, especially when in the mood for a fish fry because they are stellar. The restaurant is always busy so be careful if you are running short on time because we often run into a wait before we can even be sat. That being said, we love it here and would consider ourselves "regulars," usually (OK always) ordering the same thing because we love it so much - the fish fry and the loaded fries! Their loaded fries are among the best we have had; they have gooey fake cheese on top (which is, IMO, the best kind of cheese for loaded fries because it doesn't harden) and are loaded with bacon and scallions. Oh, and did I mention, they use waffle fries which make them THAT much better. Just fantastic. Their fish fry is huge and definitely enough to share, especially when paired with their massive appetizers, and comes with an assortment of salads on the side (mac, potato, coleslaw) and I think you can get fries if you want instead of potato salad. I went here for the very first time last week with relatives. I will definitely be going back! I LOVE the atmosphere of this place - down to earth, friendly and just the right amount of lighting. The menu includes much more than I expected and I found the prices to be extremely reasonable to the large proportion size of the food. I was all set to get a burger until I saw the Reuben on the menu. I love a good Reuben, so I took a chance. The corned beef was fresh, moist and piled high. The sauerkraut was perfect, not too tart, and plenty of melted cheese and Russian dressing. They even let me substitute a big pile of coleslaw instead of the fries. The meal was great, along with price! My relatives plates were piled high with fries and sandwiches. The service was excellent, our waitress was friendly and very attentive. The ice tea was really fresh and good tasting. I had a fried bologna sandwich with onion rings. Onion rings: THE BEST onion rings I've ever had. The onion stays inside the breading. I'm told these are bought from a vendor / not homemade - but none the less they were excellent. Served with a savory aoli. Fried Bologna: about 7 layers of thin sliced bologna with cheese and onion. DELICIOUS!! Oddly, I was not given mustard; I mean did they think I'd be eating it with ketchup??? Oooooh noooo. My Mom ordered Potato Pancakes - which she enjoyed, but felt they were too crispy. On Monday September 4th we went to the Elma Town Grill at approximately 7pm for dinner/drinks. Food was good, however the server was not professional in any way. Short when asked about beverages, omitting options and chastising when questioned. Slow to no service , more concerned with having cocktails at another table, actually sitting down and socializing while having drinks with those patrons. Worst experience yet.
