First time for everything. Went to lunch with my sIsters and they brought me here for my time. So it was Friday during lent and I didn't want fish. The cheese raviolis with Alfredo sauce was a great choice. The sauce was so good. Place is homey and employees are nice. We will be back to try it again.

    Battered fish fry

So I was in Buffalo for a few days and my friend lives near this place so we stopped in for dinner. I ordered a fish fry and it was really good. The place has a great vibe and our waitress was friendly and helpful. I ordered a Detroit style pizza a couple days later . It was tasty and good but just wish it was a little bit bigger for the price . I would definitely stop back and try more things off the menu again .

    "Detroit-style pizza"

My significant other and i came here on a Saturday afternoon. I was so surprised to see they offered a fish fry every day! So i got the beer battered fish and my sig/other got the roast beef on weck. The fish fry was very good! The batter was not too heavy and cooked just right. The sides of fries, and coleslaw were standard. I thought the fish was a bit smaller than other places, but that didnt really concern me. Now the roast beef! Wow was that good! I have to say, it was better than the other nearby local place that specializes in roast beef! The beef was fall-apart tender, juicy and piled high! The wait staff were friendly and came by the table just enough. I noticed that day that they also offered detroit style deep dish pizza! My favorite! I've had Detroit style IN Detroit as well as a few awesome places in Roch. So i came back for the pizza. Unfortunately, this was NOT good here. It was very small for $18 and i didnt like the crust (the best part!). The sauce was a bit too thick and not that great either, and i couldnt find much cheese. All said, the fish, the roast beef and the service will have me coming back!

    Spinach and artichoke dip

Connor's is a great neighborhood place to stop and grab a bite to eat. I came here with a friend after a business meeting and we just so happened to stumble upon 50 cent wing night. We had artichoke and spinach dip and ordered 10 wings each. The wings were delicious and I enjoyed it. The dip was also good. What I didn't enjoy was that the bus boy kept coming up to us and trying to take our food away, not once but twice. We even asked him outright if he was closing, despite there being other tables around us, and he said they weren't closing yet. The waitress put our food down, and not 5 minutes later the bus boy came up to us and tried to take our dip away. Go find something else to do and stop harassing the customers. We didn't appreciate that. I took a star off for that. The kid needs to read the room.

Heard great things about their beef on weck. So naturally got their Buffalo platter. Comes with fries, wings and a beef on weck. Everything was delicious. I'm used to au jus coming with the beef. Without the beef the sandwich can eat dry. Would order again.

8"x10" (4 slice) Dueling Pepperoni Pizza: Caramelized cheese on the crust is soo good!

I love Buffalo-style pizza, although, Detroit-style is a VERY close second favorite. It's been a long time since I've had Detroit-style and I saw an article in the Buffalo News about Detroit-style pizzas in Buffalo and Connor's Restaurant was mentioned. I finally had an opportunity to come and try theirs. In short: I will be back again! Family and I arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday and were able to find a parking spot pretty easily. Being our first time here, we accidently walked into the bar entrance instead of the restaurant entrance but it doesn't matter as it's all interconnected. The host told us we could sit anywhere we like, so we grabbed a small table near the kitchen. The host brought menus to us and stepped away, giving us time to start looking at the menu. After a couple minutes, our waitress came over and showed us the beer list and we both ordered a draft and a glass of water. As we looked at the menu, specifically the "Connor's Pan Pizza" section, we noticed the place started getting REALLY busy, so it took a little extra time for our waitress to come back to take our food order. That was fine though this let us relax and chit-chat for a bit. Our waitress was plenty very friendly though and did her best to check on us throughout. So for dinner, we both ordered a Detroit-style pizza from the "Connor's Pan Pizza" section. I went with the "Dueling Pepperoni Pizza". This was red sauce (made with a garlic and oregano), a layer of flat pepperoni, then topped with a cheese blend and cup 'n' char pepperoni, then finished with shaved pecorino romano cheese. What makes Detroit-style unique is the soft but thicker dough with the caramelized cheese along the edge of the crust. This pizza was soo good! I loved the generous amount of red sauce on top and both my family and I appreciated the balanced, savory flavor where it wasn't too garlic-y and the oregano stood out a bit. If you like cheese, then you'll LOVE this pizza as this was plenty cheesy! Having both flat and cup 'n' char pepperoni was awesome - I really love that slight crispiness from cup 'n' char pepperoni. Now the dough was plenty thick and filling, but pillow-y soft. It was easy to bit into and had an excellent chew. The crust with the caramelized cheese was excellent, adding a satisfying crunch to every slice. The size of the pizza too was great - 8"x10" rectangle, four slices. I ate the entire pizza and felt incredibly satisfied without feeling "stuffed". I also thought the prices for both our pizzas was very affordable, especially with how generous the size and thickness of our pizzas. Connor's Restaurant is a cozy bar and restaurant that has a relaxing, easy-going local feel. The staff working were very courteous and did a good job handling the nice-size crowd coming in. Their food menu was very extensive and had all of the Buffalo-staples, for pretty affordable prices. Obviously, being a pizza-guy, I was all about their Detroit-style pizza and I thought it was excellent! I look forward to coming back and getting another but with the "Clark Classic" toppings.

I told the bartender that I wanted to grab a sandwich to go. He recommended the corned beef. I ordered a Reuben and it was great. Hot - fresh and cooked perfectly. The bartender was friendly. Service was quick and the bar was clean I will definitely be back

Food was just average here. I ordered the Pierogi as a starter. They were good but seemed very basic....not homemade or unique. The fish was okay as well. Sides were not homemade or at least didn't taste like it.

Beer battered with fries and double mac salad instead of coleslaw

Had a nice dinner here with friends. We went on a Friday, so we did have to wait (don't take reservations), but it wasn't more than 20 minutes. We did have a drink at the bar which was crowded, but we got a seat after a couple minutes. Our server Audra was very pleasant and attentive. Two of us ordered the beer battered fish, one ordered the broiled (lemon Cajun flavored not on the menu, but they'll do it if you ask), and the other the Rueben. The food took some time, but understandably since it was busy, but everything came out hot and fresh. The fish was good, but was cod (did not say on the menu), not haddock, so not as flavorful. I was told the Rueben was good and seemed to be stacked with a decent amount of meat. All in all, a nice evening and we didn't have any issues. Would return but probably won't get the fish again, but lots of other options.

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

The craziest part about it is that Winfield's Pub is literally just 10 minutes from my House. A conveniently small place that packs big Bold Flavors. Like as you are driving down Ridge Road towards the main Lackawanna area. A place that if you want to enjoy, you'd have to park in front of it or park on the Side Streets of the neighborhood across from it and walk over. After trying out their Food at a Stillwater Farm Dinner consisting or Birria Tacos and Sausage stuffed Chicken Breast. To me that was a nice welcoming Card telling me to come right away instead of wasting more time ignoring the Place. You walk up 3 Steps and in you are greeted by the Owner's wife Sherryl, the Owner and the Head of Winfield's (Tab Daulton) is running the show making sure food gets pumped out of their Small Kitchen. While their son Thomas is at the Bar making Cocktails of the highest Quality with some of the most unique names that I've ever heard. My 1st visit was enjoying a Birthday Dinner with loved ones in the center of the Restaurant. While going over the menu, I had my 1st Cocktail called The Ghostwriter in a tall cylindrical glass that had Gin, Herbal Liqueur, Coconut, Lime, Lemongrass Syrup & Dill. Sweet and Herbaceous. Next up was some Fresh made Focaccia Bread studded with Rosemary, Garlic, Tomatoes and Zucchini that was so Warm and Flavorful like it just came right out the Oven. You know I like to drink Beer and cook with it too, I couldn't help but get myself a cup of their Beer Cheese soup with Bratwurst and Housemade Croutons. Every single Spoonful I took was Rich with a hint of Spicy heat at the end. Next up was a plate off Duck Confit Poutine with Goat Cheese (I opted for that instead of Cheese Curds). You might look at it and see a big globby mess but what I saw and what I ate was pure Gluttonous Heaven. French Fries, bits of Rich and Tender Duck Meat and mild and Tangy Cheese which equaled a comforting Bite. Next was another Cocktail I got called the Dirty Harry (named after one of Clint Eastwood's best-known roles). Another drink that hit hard consisting of Pineapple, Doctor Bird Rum, Boomsa Herbal Liquor and Banana Shrub Jam. While waiting for my main course, I tried some of Nathan's BBQ Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Who doesn't like tender Pieces of Meat with the outside bring Crispy while the Meat inside just melts away on your Tongue. For our Entrees, everyone enjoyed something different like Nathan and Brianna having Seared Chicken with Vegetables, Mike enjoying a Burger, Rick just getting a few Appetizers, Grandma Carol eating Fish Tacos, Jimmy and Kathy enjoying a Steak. While I got myself Seared Scallops over Sweet Corn Risotto with Tarragon. This looked to me and ate like a Summer Dish, why on earth was it on the Menu during close to Fall/Winter, I don't know. But I'll say this, I loved every bite, you get Sweetness from both the Seafood and the Corn with the Tarragon at the end giving it a light hit of Licorice. Thomas kindly gave me a Complimentary Drink while waiting for Dessert called the Legislation #2. It had Rye Whiskey, Dry Vermouth, Orange Cognac and Acidic Phosphate. While it had all those Ingredients, it was a simple looking Drink with a Jurassic sized Ice Cube in it. But I will say this, this drink packed one heck of a Potent Punch. To finish off the Meal, I got myself a big slice of Guinness Chocolate Cake. One of my favorite Beers has been Transformed into a Dessert. It had such a Deep chocolate Flavor with richness from the frosting packed in between each layer. I walked over and personally thank Tab and his Crew for the great Food that night. The only issue we had was waiting to get our Checks, but other than that everything went great. Another one to cross off my list, another restaurant that I will no longer Ignore. Winfield's better be ready for some more Visits from me in the Future. !!!

This is a good deal to get a craft beer included with your fish fry. I actually ordered it to go and enjoyed the beer while waiting for the fish to take out. It was a very solid fish dinner, the batter was crispy, not oily. The fish was fresh, all of the sides were good, even the rye bread was a nice hearty thick cut of rye. The mac salad featured tuna, which I do like. And the fries were hot and tasty. The fish itself was not huge but was big enough for us. Every component of the fish fry dinner was on point. The barmaid was efficient and friendly, I did not have to wait. My only complaint is that they do not list beer prices on their menu, which was fine this time since it was included with the meal, but would prevent me from enjoying a stop on the way home for a beer or two.
