Food was horrible. They need to change the grease in their fryers. French fries were so black. We ordered fish fries absolutely horrible. There wasn't much eaten from our plates. It was $70. They pretended they care but they don't, just rang up to $70 and looking for the tip will never ever go there again. read more

I'm extremely dissatisfied with my experience. My friend and I visited on Thursday night, and while the service was great, the food was disappointing. We ordered nachos, but the chicken was unappetizing and had a grayish hue. We could not eat it and ended up with stomach aches. I also ordered a roast beef sandwich, but I felt off from the nachos and decided to box it up. The next day when I went to take a bite, I noticed what looked like blood on the sandwich. I reached out via email and Instagram but never received a response. I'm very upset and won't be returning. I've been coming to Ebenezer's for the past ....lets just say, it's been a long time. Going further, I honesty can say I've never had a bad experience here. Well, let me take that back. I had to use the bathroom and the cleaning lady was taking forever. LOL Any way, I love the ambience, the crowd, the food and, the bloody Mary's are on point! There's always a good beer selection for the beer geeks. I also love, love, love they allow dogs on the patio especially because I take my Boonsri everywhere with me. I'm a pescatarian and they have a lot of options and for vegetarians. The owners are very personable and always are here to make sure you are satisfied with your experience. I reviewed this a couple weeks ago and gave it a 3. I would give it a 4.5 this time, but Yelp doesn't do that. Maybe it's just what you order. We got a bacon blue burger and Mexican dry rub wings. Both a 10/10. The burger was delicious and juicy and the wings were super crispy, like we like them. Our server (a young girl) was really great as well. Super attentive. Came and asked how our food was, which didn't happen last time. Pay attention to the board to order your beer. The draft menu on the table doesn't have all the options that are on the board. I've been here so many times, I can't believe I've never reviewed it before. It was a beautiful fall day, but the outdoor deck was so busy we opted for a calmer atmosphere and sat indoors. Service was a tad slow, but we're getting used to that everywhere we go, what with bars and restaurants all having staffing issues. I was tempted to order the Green House sandwich: grilled zucchini, roasted red peppers and red onions, baby spinach, pesto mayo. Sounds delicious, but I can never resist shrimp tacos. They were pretty good, It was unusual to find green bell pepper on a shrimp taco, but I didn't mind it at all. My friend ordered The Betty: a monstrous construction of roasted turkey, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and mayo on toasted sourdough. Rave review for this one. Good selection of beer, wine and specialty cocktails. Prices in line with other comparable taverns. This has always been one of our go-to lunch spots, since it's conveniently located for all of us, they have plenty of parking, and a menu with enough choices to please everyone in our party. We were really craving a Reuben sandwich so came here for dinner. 3 of us were really disappointed but what can you do. I've had the fish fry before and it was really good so I thought why not, we'll, if you have a slow waitress your food sits till it's nearly cold and your fries and fish go limp! It was not even busy and our waitress was absent. Never for a chance to mention my cold fish because by the time she came back, everyone else was done. I had a good experience here, which made me consider booking an 11 person reservation. Well, I'm here to say I will not be returning after my most recent dinner here. Four from our party were late because of a late flight. We notified the waitress that since we were celebrating our daughter's Baptism and we had an infant with us, we could not wait for them to order and needed food in and out as fast as possible. The waitress knew about our requests and seemed to understand our time constraints. She got us drinks instantly, but things started falling apart rather quickly after that. Drink requests were forgotten about and so were requests for silverware (not that we ended up needing it). While she took our orders quickly and assured us they would be put in immediately, they certainly were not. Our party of four joined us 20 minutes after we ordered. They ordered their appetizers and entrees. Their appetizers came. None of our food came. Their entrees came. None of our food came. The bussers setting food down assured us food was coming. We waited, we asked the hostess, we asked for the waitress. NOTHING. An hour and a half and all we had to show for it was our party of 4 finishing their entrees and us with 1 drink a piece. After we finally flagged our waitress down she was completely condescending on how a "kitchen worked" as if no one understood food service. The restaurant wasn't busy. She tried to blame it on a single chicken dish taking this long, but she was notified we needed food ordered and out as soon as possible so she knew we needed all dishes out as soon as they were done. I'm also sure if one chicken dish took 2 hours, the restaurant would have gone out of business years ago. We had to leave without our food. We asked for our family to bring it home to us. We finally ate 4 hours after initially sitting down and to add insult to injury, the food that was boxed WAS THE WRONG FOOD. We tried calling the restaurant and manager several times and no one ever got back to us. A giant waste of time and terrible experience, especially for two young parents finally leaving the house with their infant for the first time. read more

I came here for lunch on a snowy Saturday. We were a table of 6, and our waitress was T, who took great care of us. I love the atmosphere here, with all the windows and Christmas decorations. The beer selection is varied, but I was disappointed that there were no Rusty Nickel options available, since the brewery is in their backyard. The menu offered gluten free options, which I appreciated. The food was good and came out quickly. It's typical pub food: burgers, pizza, wings, and tacos. Overall just 3 stars for this place. I've been wanting to try it for a while since they serve fish daily and the previous pics looks pretty good. Parking is a nightmare just an FYI. Hopefully you get lucky to find a spot in the lot but they're always busy! Seating was easy and quick. We chose to sit inside so there were plenty of tables. They also have an outdoor patio which was too packed but looked nice. For appetizers we tried the hot pepper bombs and spinach artichoke dip. Both were good but the artichoke dip was best. For an entree my husband got the Mac and cheese with Cajun chicken and it didn't taste Cajun at all. I actually added hot sauce just to give it some flavor! My fish fry was decent. The fish itself was absolutely amazing. The sides were just okay but everything was overloaded with red onion - even the coleslaw. Not really a fan! Have been going to do fish fries during lent. I have been trying a different place every week. So this week we came here. But we didn't see good reviews for the fish fry, we decided on different meatless food. We chose fish tacos and mac and cheese. The fish tacos were excellent and filling. I could only eat 2 or the 3. There was a lot of fish compared to many other places that I had fish tacos. The mac and cheese bowl was enormous. The cheeses were excellent and it was very creamy. So glad we came here. We will be coming back to try the burgers. Lots of choices to eat. Please Note: a customer sitting next to us did not like their fish fry. So glad we didn't get the fish fry. There are lots of other options of food here and what we had were very good. Just needed to let them know. We will be back for more food on a non-lent friday. read more

Out running errands in West Seneca area and getting hungry. Drive to Ebenezer Ale House. We were pleasantly surprised to find a parking spot and the place looked like it wasn't too busy . We entered and stood at the hostess station for about 10 minutes and were ready to leave . The hostess gets up from the bar right behind us and says oh I didn't see you waiting . More interested in her cocktail than seating anyone .. we finally get seated and I happened to look at what time it was 7:22 pm . So now we wait again . Mind you there are many empty tables . Finally after 10 Minutes a waitress comes over to ask if we want a drink and are ready to order . We place our drink and food order and wait again . We see our waitress talking to people at the bar and other tables. 20 minutes goes by and still nothing to drink . I finally get up to go to the bar to get drinks because we are not obviously getting them from the waitress. She sees me at the bar and goes behind the bar and pours our drinks and brings them to the table . We drink those and food comes out . We order another round of drinks from waitress as she is putting our food on the table . And now we wait again... we watch her put on makeup , talk with bar patrons but no drinks . We had to eat the meal with nothing to drink . Finally came over with drinks once our meal was done . Now we sit and wait for the check .and wait . And wait . Finally we ask another waitress for our bill . Our waitress watches her get our bill and bring it to us , which was wrong .. she corrects it and we pay her . Thanks for nothing waitress and that's exactly what our gratuity showed .. too bad as we would have ordered several drinks, an appetizer and meals but weren't given the time of day by our server . Food was hot and tasty but the lack of service from the waitress ruined the entire dinner . Maybe this is why the parking lot was not full and lots of empty tables. read more

Absolutely amazing quality... chips were incredible ...made in house i believe...even the pickle had an amazing unique garlic and spice dill flavor. The visit that assured we would never go back was in December. They stuck us down in the basement under a huge drift of snow a top the roof. It was cold and damp down there. I just ate here and loved the food.. I got the goats cheese jalapeño burger and my girlfriend got the blue cheese burger.. we both agree it is the best burger/food we've had. I've been to this restaurant multiple times and before I start this review, I want to disclose some important information. The last time I visited this restaurant I did not have the most beautiful experience. The service was prolonged, the food came out cold, and the salad was highly wilted. Plus it was my last day at my job and I wanted to celebrate at one of my favorite places and I had such a horrible experience. That was March 11, 2022, and we have not been back ever since. Until last Thursday. I returned to the Ebenezer Ale House last Thursday due to my craving for their wings and corona lime queso. I ordered a beer made by Rusty Nickel Brewing Company which was absolutely delicious. I could taste the beer was fresh and in a combination with the additional flavors and notes in the beer made it not so overwhelmingly strong and well balanced. A great start to the meal. There was a biking event that day so there was not a lot of parking available. I managed to find a spot. When I got into the restaurant I asked the hostess why there wasn't much parking and she told me about the bike event which was why their parking lot was full. The restaurant was quiet plus they had a sign about the event to let customers know. I got seated right away and that was the beginning of a great start so far. I first ordered the signature appetizer The Ale House Angels which were bacon-wrapped shrimp with a lime creole sauce. They were epic! Who doesn't love bacon-wrapped ANYTHING? Paired with the lime creole sauce this dish was like a party in my mouth. Still great so far. My chips with queso came along with the wings and they were beyond perfect. The queso really satisfied my cravings and the wings were nice and juicy and flavorful. Paired with the beer made the dish, even more, better and it was so pleasant to taste all of the flavors in all the dishes. The service was absolutely excellent. The best service I ever had in the front and back of the house. A complete 180 from March 11th. The food was excellent and the service was stellar. I am so glad I gave this restaurant another chance. We had not visited in several months, due to our last visit just being ok. I decided to try it again and ordered take out. The Ale house angel appetizers were so good and my husband said his creole pasta was ok. The problem was with my fettuccine Alfredo. The menu states it is prepared with chicken, prosciutto, peas and roasted garlic. I decided to add shrimp for an up charge of 7.99. It sounded good, but what I received, was not as described in the menu. It did not have prosciutto, peas or the shrimp, that I had paid extra for. It was rather bland and I could not taste any garlic. I called the restaurant and stated the above complaint. The woman who answered was courteous and asked if I wanted a new meal made. I told her no, we were not driving back and waiting another 30-40 minutes. She asked if I wanted a credit and I told her yes. She took my information and said she would speak with the bartender for the credit. This was several days ago, no one has contacted me or credited my card. We won't be going back. The dish cost me $30.98, I could have gotten the same thing, for half the price at a chain restaurant. read more

I've had dinner here numerous times and have not great experiences (I have had good experiences as well) but today was the worst. My friend and I came for dinner. She was seated and had a drink and it took over 15 minutes for a server to spot us and stop back over after I sat down. The restaurant was not busy. We ordered and our food came out about in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered just a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were actually cold and bland. I was shocked because they used to be good. The burger had bacon on it, which I didn't order. I was just going to eat it until I realized it was completely the wrong burger (speciality burger) and the cheese was still unmelted and fell right off the burger. Was actually medium rare how I wanted it. I sent it back and waited for a new one. It came out... with bacon again. Which, again, I didn't order on it. And again, the cheese was just slapped on top and not melted. It was like hitting into a slice right from the package. The burger was also charred. Very well done when I ordered medium rare. Then we get the check and I was charged for the wrong burger. The server fixed that but it was just not a good experience. We won't be back for a while. read more

Had dinner here on a Wednesday and we were able to sit outside on the large patio as it was a nice evening and it wasn't too busy. One friend brought her puppy since it's a dog friendly patio and they had a large water bowl for them. Besides drinks, we ordered the Steak House Pizza, Chicken Quesadillas, and BBQ Chicken Salad. Our server was prompt and attentive. The food was all delicious and came out in a reasonable amount of time. We didn't feel rushed and had enough time to enjoy ourselves. This place used to be a frequently visited place for my friends and i. For whatever reason, we had not visited since before COVID. Last night, my friend and I decided we wanted to do dinner. When I pulled up, I was shocked- the parking lot was absolutely DEAD. This used to be a place that had cars parking on the side of the road on the weekends. After last night I understand why. My friend specifically asked for a plain cheeseburger- not wanting to pay for all the extras. I ordered chicken fingers. The fries here used to be AMAZING. However these were dried out and cold. My friend got a burger with bacon on it and then mushrooms- a pub burger which is more than a basic burger. She sent it back. Her fries were cold as well, not to mention a soggy piece of cheese on top of the burger, not melted. Updating my review with the experiences I have had during COVID times. I really cannot complain much, I think the quality of food that we've had for takeout matches with what we were getting during our indoor dining experiences. Most of the food is delicious and fairly priced. To pickup your food, you do have to walk into the bar area and hope someone is around. My sister said she waited there for quite a few minutes, standing next to a grubhub lady who complained to her about how awfully slow her experiences always are while getting takeout from here - fortunately we did not have any issues. Usually the food is great here but I must mention the montrosity that was the steak sandwich that I ordered... please take that off your menu. Of course I wouldn't expect a steak sandwich to be a top-notch cut but I don't think there was any steak to that sandwich, it was all fat after fat after fat that I ended up giving it to my dog and just eating the fries as my meal. Absolutely disgusting that they would allow that to be served. The rest of the family did enjoy their meals, especially the burgers. The fried stuffed pepper balls were a good appetizer but I really wish they packed more spice. Once adding hot sauce, they were delicious! I am interested to see how/if they allow takeout of their french onion soup since that is my favorite menu item here so I'll have to try that next time! read more

It's a great start when you can make a reservation. I get hangry fast :). My hubs will tell you they have THE BEST REUBEN in WNY. Add some fresh sweet potato fries with sea salt and honey. And you have a winner. The French onion soup while a little thinner than I prefer had excellent flavor. Now for the fish fry. There was nothing bad with the fish fry , there were things that were just different and this portion of the review is just to provide the reader with data. The fish was great. Flaky haddock with a light batter. The pasta salad , is not the typical mac salad you get with fish frys. Spiral noodles, with sauce that was more like Italian dressing then mayo. And the tartar sauce tasted more like sour cream and dill. Than Mayo and sweet. Again not bad. Just not typical. read more
