Poppyseed has been around forever and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious. It's my go-to for a large, heart salad or delicious sandwich. Every option is a good choice. They could use some updates inside the restaurant but the food will never let you down.

Met some friends for lunch. We all decided we wanted something light and fresh, so of course why not a poppyseed salad! We were greeted and seated up on arrival. Our server was very pleasant! Now I have not been to poppyseed in years probably like 7 since my office moved from OP. I definitely won't be waiting 7 years again. The food was fresh, huge portions and so tasty. Now I mentioned we went in for salads, well my friends stuck to their guns, me on the other hand to read the specials, and Par 5 changed my ordering. The Par 5 special was a grilled cheese around a smash burger, with bacon, tomato and jalapeno mayonnaise, yes jalapeno mayonnaise! The fries were definitely hand cut and home made and were cooked and seasoned to perfection.Who could blame me from straying from a salad, which by the way looked amazing as well! We started with the spinach artichoke dip and it was good it actually had a different flavor than I'm use to BUT whatever they did keep doing it. For my seeing challenged folks, it is fairly dark in there! Thank god for cell phone lights!

We visited for lunch today and were seated immediately by the very kind and cheerful staff. We were greeted right away by, Carrie, the team member assigned to our table. Her service was very good and very on time with everything. We ordered some appetizer, the name slips me but they were delicious along with the sauce that was served with them. I ordered the Par five burger. It was delicious and very filling. We also ordered a bowl of French onion soup which was good as well. The restaurant was quiet when we first arrived but became very busy quickly. I can understand why with the freshly prepared dishes and great service. Although it was busy it was not very loud at all and the decor of the dining area is lovely. If you haven't been there or it has been awhile I would recommend stopping in for a meal.

We always love a trip to the McKinley Mall because it means we can squeeze in lunch at the Poppyseed Restaurant. It's a little storefront establishment with a high-end feel and budget friendly prices! Today we had two little boys in tow, so a good kids menu was a must! We were swiftly seated by a very pleasant young lady. Menus were provided and we began to salivate over our choices! I was very tempted to order a Cinnamon Sandwich, grilled and loaded with cream cheese, turkey and cranberries, walnuts and a cinnamon glaze. Comes with sweet potato fries. All for only $16! Instead I selected the Par 5 10 oz angus burger on a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato, bacon and jalapeño mayonnaise. Mine came with delicious French fries, but I know the hand cut fried chips are wonderful as well. Now, I have been around the block, from a dining perspective but I have to say that this was the most delicious burger I've had in ages. The beef patty was thick, juicy and flavorful. The grilled cheese sandwich took it to a whole other level! Roll your eyes back in your head! It was that good!!! I could not finish, so half my plate came home in a box. My man had the Chicken Souvlaki Salad with a bowl of hearty French onion soup. The soup came out first, loaded with a thick blanket of cheese over a slice of rye bread. The soup was full of onions, very satisfying! His salad brought the house down! Delicious and fresh, filled with iceberg, feta, olives, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini and marinated chicken. A side pita complimented the meal which came to $15. We ordered a pita pizza for one little boy, and the chicken fingers and fries for the other. Surprisingly they ate much of their food and still had plenty to take home. These kid meals came in at under $7 and included a kid beverage. All in all, this is a place where we can always count on a great meal at a very reasonable price! I

I used to be a hater. I never understood the appeal of a restaurant that specializes in salads. But I'm a changed man. And this place offers the best salads in the world. My favorite is the Chicken Poppyseed salad with Poppyseed dressing. It's incredible. Perfectly cooked juicy chicken mixed with spinach salad, mozzarella, cranberries and walnuts. And filling too! The dressing are drinkable - so good. I've had multiple soups that are amazing. The chicken dumpling was like a Willie Wonka gobstopper in my mouth that replicated Thanksgiving dinner. Kind of funny when you go in for lunch. It's packed with a 15 minute wait. And the ratio of women to men is probably 10-1.

This is one of the only places that has come up with delicious & creative vegetarian meals since at least the 90's. Generally they are wonderful as a casual place. Recently Ordered curbside salad & sandwich. No utensils or napkins for takeout & boring $13 sandwich were most disappointing. Muddy shoes $13 was a disappointing, bland smooshed vegetarian blob with lettuce & tomato. Bread was nicely toasted. April Shower salad $14 was outstanding. Photos don't fully show how many yummy ingredients were packed into the salad (or how few were in the muddy shoes sandwich). Neither item was a finger food or could be eaten without silverware &/or napkin, so the convenience of curbside was erased.

Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. The meal always starts with fresh baked bread service that is accompanied by butter, house pickles and either a hummus or garlic confit (in my experience). My mom is gluten free so she was bought her own dish with focaccia and a roll. She was over the moon about that and really enjoyed the focaccia. We all enjoyed every bit of our meal which included our choice if an appetizer, main dish and dessert from a prix fixe menu for $40. Some of our choices included charcuterie, arugula salad, tamarind shrimp curry, salmon and lemon meringue cheesecake. We left with our culinary needs satisfied and our stomachs full... we even had some leftovers. I can't wait to go back again. It's best to make reservations as they usually get fully booked. They also have staff working there that graduated from the program and were hired by the restaurant. This place is fantastic. As soon as we walked in, we notice the ambiance of the entire building is clean and well maintained. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept so you can see much of what is going on "behind the scenes". Upon entering the restaurant, we were appropriately greeted by staff who were very personable, respectful, and informative. The same attentive and personable service was given by the entire staff. We were able to ask questions about how the restaurant operates, being that it is operated by the Culinary Institute and its students and alumni. I'll spare you the details but it is an interesting dynamic. The food was excellent. We went for dinner and while there is a limited menu, the options were varied enough that anyone would be able to find something they will enjoy. This might be the most affordable three course meal I've had this decade. The food was prepared perfectly, the presentation was impeccable, and the service provided leaves nothing to be desired. The entire operation is run calmly and very efficiently. I am happy to have had the opportunity to dine at Savor and it is going on my short list of highly recommended upscale restaurants for anyone looking for a nice dinner at an affordable price. So if you're looking for a night out and don't want to break the bank, go support the students and alums from SUNY Niagara. I doubt you'll regret it at all. You can look up their operating schedules and make reservations online.

When I rolled in at 9pm on a Thursday, hungry, I wasn't sure what kind of food I'd find, but the reviews for Last Run were good enough, so I decided to give it a go. And damn am I glad I did. The serving size was insane. A massive pile of fries, a dish of cole slaw, a generous serving of mac salad (which I usually don't love, but was happy to make an exception for), and 4 large, golden, crispy filets of fish. And every bite was delightful. Both the serving staff (who were on their way out but got me started anyway) and Anna, the bartender, were friendly and extremely helpful. I can even forgive the mispronunciation of "Smithwick's". This was an excellent way to be welcomed back to the area.

At first glance, it's easy going atmosphere, juke box, and row of motorcycles out front will have you thinking it's just another dive bar. But if you spend more than two minutes there, you will quickly see that there is more to this little stop on rt 240! The menu (albeit expensive) has a ton of home cooked options and the specials never disappoint! The Baja tacos are my favorite, the wings are perfect, and the roast beef (when they have it) is as good as or better than Bar-bills. There are dinner tables inside and out. Their newly remodeled patio is awesome, and usually shaded fairly well. What makes the last run the best is truly the people that work there. Unfortunately, that really wasn't our experience. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The entire place felt tired and dirty. The carpets looked heavily worn and stained, the booths had food stuck in the crevices, and overall it just didn't feel clean or well maintained. The dishes and drinkware didn't help. The coffee mugs, which were once white, were badly stained and dingy looking. My mother actually rubbed something off hers, and the waitress explained that it "wasn't dirty, just stained." Not exactly the best first impression, especially at $55 per person for brunch. We ordered mimosas after that, hoping things would improve, but even the champagne glasses looked questionable and were filled to noticeably different levels. Then the food arrived, and unfortunately it only got worse. Everything was served "family style," but there was no menu or explanation of what was coming. The meal felt random and poorly executed. Some highlights included: * A single store-bought pastry cut into pieces * Mac and cheese that tasted like boxed Velveeta * Deep-fried breakfast sausages * Ham that resembled warmed-up lunch meat * Three shrimp total for two people * A bowl of stew meat that felt completely out of place * An Eggs Benedict attempt that simply didn't work To make matters worse, some of the silverware and plates appeared dirty as well. By the end, we honestly couldn't wait to leave. The automatic $20 holiday service charge on top of the already expensive brunch really sealed the experience for us. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in quite a while.

Overpriced, Unsanitary, and Unprofessional - A $500 Disaster…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent experience was truly appalling. We visited with a party of 11, including my 88-year-old grandfather. Despite the high price point--our bill was nearly $500--the standards of service and cleanliness were non-existent. The Issues: Accessibility & Cleanliness: There were zero handicap parking spots available. Inside, the restaurant was filthy; there was old food and trash under our booth, and the bathroom was in a state of neglect with toilet paper left on dirty surfaces rather than the holder. The Environment: We were greeted by stained, soiled paper menus and a swarm of fruit flies that stayed with us throughout the entire meal. Poor Service: We waited 50 minutes for basic dinner salads. My grandfather's coffee took 45 minutes to arrive. The waitress appeared visibly annoyed that she had to walk around our booth to serve us. Cheap Substitutes: For the price of a strip steak, you expect quality. Instead, we were served Aldi-brand steak sauce. When I asked for A1, I was handed a filthy, food-smeared bottle that was nearly empty. The "Refill" Incident: Our initial drinks were served half-empty. When we asked for refills, the waitress told us to finish our current glasses because they weren't free and she "didn't want to charge us." In the end, we were charged for them anyway. Overpriced Food: The French Onion soup is served in tiny metal bowls, not crocks. To top it off, we paid $22 for two "slices" of cheesecake to go--one of which was a literal sliver of cake. While the food itself was decent, no meal is worth this level of disrespect and lack of hygiene. I will never recommend this establishment.

Bison sliders 8/10 Meat was good, the slider burgers were pretty thick and juicy. I would recommend since they were so think maybe cooking them a minute less for a more medium cook. I liked the goat cheese paired with the meat but you really couldn't taste it, i wish there was more. I'm not sure if it was the onion jam or the blueberry BBQ but something was a little spicy. Bbq pork belly tacos 7/10 The pork was cooked great, and the bbq was a good flavor. I liked the idea behind the double shell (one hard, one corn tortilla), but I think it would have worked better if it was a flour tortilla because both shells ended up breaking and I needed to use a fork to eat it. Between the hard shell and the sweet potato crisps, there was too much crunch for me. I did like the pairing of the pineapple with the BBQ sauce.

There are 2 and it was good 2) Roasted Artichoke: it was really the heart with the stem, breaded, served with a very small amount of arugula, lots of shaved parmesan and a lemon wedge. This was very good- wish there was a bit more arugula. My bad for not ordering a salad 3) Bison Sliders: the blueberry BBQ sauce intrigued me. There are 3 and it is served medium, or maybe medium rare. The grilled onions were yummy on there! 4) Jackruit Tacos: these were on the paper menu with their specials. What is smart is the taco shell is fried and they serve it inside a regular tortilla. Both corn. Yummy with the pickled onion. 5) chocolate ganache cake: GF and surprisingly dense and yummy.
