The menu has lots of vegetarian options, and many of the desserts are listed as gluten free. The French onion soup broth was delicious, even if the onions were only translucent and not caramelized. The ingredient that did not square with me were the croutons of seeded rye. Maybe a mistake? The color scheme is purple walls with grey baffles. The noise-abatement measures are somewhat nullified by the volume of the overhead speakers playing late 80's/ early 90's British Wave. (Spandau Ballet, anyone?) The food was too-notch! My mom always enjoys getting a Rueben sandwich from here. She loves that it re-heats nicely in the airfryer too! The blasdell smash burger was great. My date loved the patties were seasoned and presented with a great bun that could withhold the burger patties and cheese. (We went to Red Robin a few days ago and the patty wasn't seasoned and the bun came out soggy) My dish was perfection. Mixed Seafood grille on top of rice. Very filling and packed with flavor! The food was delicious. The souvlaki salad was probably one of the best salads I've had in a long time. The chicken was super moist. It was packed full with ingredients. The dressing it was served with was definitely homemade. I could drink it that's how good it was. And the pita bread that came with the salad was some of the best! It's a little storefront establishment with a high-end feel and budget friendly prices! Today we had two little boys in tow, so a good kids menu was a must! I was very tempted to order a Cinnamon Sandwich, grilled and loaded with cream cheese, turkey and cranberries, walnuts and a cinnamon glaze. Comes with sweet potato fries. All for only $16! Instead I selected the Par 5 10 oz angus burger on a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato, bacon and jalapeño mayonnaise. Mine came with delicious French fries, but I know the hand cut fried chips are wonderful as well. Now, I have been around the block, from a dining perspective but I have to say that this was the most delicious burger I've had in ages. The beef patty was thick, juicy and flavorful. The grilled cheese sandwich took it to a whole other level! Roll your eyes back in your head! It was that good!!! I could not finish, so half my plate came home in a box. My man had the Chicken Souvlaki Salad with a bowl of hearty French onion soup. The soup came out first, loaded with a thick blanket of cheese over a slice of rye bread. The soup was full of onions, very satisfying! His salad brought the house down! Delicious and fresh, filled with iceberg, feta, olives, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini and marinated chicken. A side pita complimented the meal which came to $15. We ordered a pita pizza for one little boy, and the chicken fingers and fries for the other. Surprisingly they ate much of their food and still had plenty to take home. These kid meals came in at under $7 and included a kid beverage. Her service was very good and very on time with everything. We ordered some appetizer, the name slips me but they were delicious along with the sauce that was served with them. I ordered the Par five burger. It was delicious and very filling. We also ordered a bowl of French onion soup which was good as well. The restaurant was quiet when we first arrived but became very busy quickly. I can understand why with the freshly prepared dishes and great service. I used to be a hater. I never understood the appeal of a restaurant that specializes in salads. But I'm a changed man. And this place offers the best salads in the world. My favorite is the Chicken Poppyseed salad with Poppyseed dressing. It's incredible. Perfectly cooked juicy chicken mixed with spinach salad, mozzarella, cranberries and walnuts. And filling too! The dressing are drinkable - so good. I've had multiple soups that are amazing. The chicken dumpling was like a Willie Wonka gobstopper in my mouth that replicated Thanksgiving dinner. Muddy shoes $13 was a disappointing, bland smooshed vegetarian blob with lettuce & tomato. Bread was nicely toasted. April Shower salad $14 was outstanding. Photos don't fully show how many yummy ingredients were packed into the salad (or how few were in the muddy shoes sandwich). Wow! I have to say I was beyond surprised with how good my lunch was from here. Went with a friend and we split our meals so I could write a proper review. I ordered the Belgian Burger ($18) which was one of the best burgers I've had in recently memory. The buns were waffles and aside from a bourbon and brown sugar-seasoned patty it came with bacon, mozzarella cheese and a grilled slice of pineapple. It was sooooo good! It came with a side of "sidewinder" fries. My friend ordered the Violet Beauregarde sandwich ($17) which was crazy concoction that worked with Grilled blueberry bread, Cajun chicken, gorgonzola cheese and arugula. It had a blueberry glaze on top and came with sweet potatoes fries. This was also very delicious and I'm lowkey jealous I didn't order for myself instead of just getting half, haha. Poppyseed continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in WNY. They have a great menu - from delicious burgers to funky salads and everything in between. They have great dips, usually served with fried pita. Last night, we got the chicken wing dip (which is a special on their fall menu.) The dip was a great way to start our dinner, so delicious and cheesy. Poppyseed is my FAVORITE spot for soups. All of their soups are homemade, and change daily. Last night, I got the French onion, and it is now my favorite French Onion soup in Buffalo (and I eat a lot of soup.) I also got the chicken souvlaki salad, which was massive! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the salad dressings complimented the salad perfectly. My salad came with warm pita. YUM. My boyfriend got the Berlin Wall - which is also on the fall specials menu. His sandwich had apples, Swiss, and schnitzel and came with crispy sweet potato fries and a caramel honey butter. He practically licked his plate. One thing I love about this restaurant is that their menu always has original menu items and they often feature items I would never think of! But it's always delicious. Two things are always true at poppyseed: 1. The food is going to be delicious and 2. Your waitress will be an angel. You need to try! I will be back very soon! read more

Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. Although half of the booths were taped off, there was still plenty of seating both inside and outside. They also had a ton of takeout orders ready to go by the door. There was hand sanitizer at the door, and the staff had masks on. Customers were also asked to wear masks when not at their table. Service and food were both fantastic, we were greeted and seated right away, drinks and food came out quickly too. I ordered the Black Forest Sandwich with fries. I especially enjoyed the variety of flavors and textures of the sandwich, it was truly fantastic and super filling too. I would definitely order this again. Found multiple inedible pieces of cartilage in her sandwich and when she said this to the waitress, did she get an apology? or a recognition that this wasn't acceptable? Portions are generous and everything is made of the highest quality ingredients. I am not a salad person , yet at this place I'll make an exception.... The steak Gorgonzola salad was incredible! ($16) Tender steak cooked a perfect medium, Gorgonzola cheese, balsamic portobellos, roasted red peppers with a grilled pita. Several dressings to chose from (I went with a salsa ranch.)
