My family and I visited Feature for my mom's birthday since she is gluten free and tries to avoid seed oils... And guess what? Everything at Feature is gf (except mac & cheese) and they use zero seed oils. It was great for the family because we were all able to build our own bowls to our liking. We dined in on a Friday night around 6pm and were the only ones in the dining area, which seats approximately 20 people. There were a few pick-up and take out orders while we were there. My mom and I had quinoa bases with chicken breast and veggies and all the boys had mac & cheese bases with various meats including pulled pork and jerk chicken. My dad also got a cherry protein smoothie, which he let me taste and it was like a yummy milkshake. They use a very clean protein powder, Jocko. YUM! Feature has 2 seasonal meats going: BBQ baby back ribs and pulled pork. If you order the BBQ plate, you'll have about 5 meats to choose from. I got the baby back ribs. You can then choose 3 sides. I chose the coconut rice, sweet potato, and mac and cheese. A sweet roll and 2 sauces are included; one sauce is sweet and that was my fave. The other is tangy. Searched in the area for a place to eat something healthy after going to a yelp yoga event. Stumbled on Feature Eatery, which is in a plaza set back a little so be on the lookout for it since everything in the area is a plaza! Cool spot. Nice man waited on me and was helpful since it was my first time there. They have some tables inside if you want to eat there or you can get it to go - counter style setup. Got a green smoothie with pea protein and a falafel salad to go. Both were very tasty! He put the salad toppings on the side so the salad didn't get soggy and gross, which I appreciated. I stopped in to grab lunch and WOW this is the best choice I made all day. I had never been here before and in an effort to eat a little healthier, this was the place to go. It is shredded barbecue beef with some sweet barbecue sauce over coconut rice with broccoli and sweet potato. For me that was two meals. I took half of it home. It was so tasty. Just home cooking. And it's nutritious. $14.49. I ordered the pineapple upside down shake with vegan protein powder. I didn't care for the taste too much because I'm not used to vegan protein powder I think. Too healthy! The color looked lavender so I thought it was blueberries. But it wasn't. I would say this is money well spent because it is healthy food, with generous portions. Ambiance - 5. This review is about the feature eatery in Williamsville on transit. This is my 3rd time eating here, every time I've been greeted very pleasantly by both a male server once and the same female server twice. They are both very knowledgeable about the foods and what is in everything and both gave me their honest opinions. The first time I went there I only had a chocolate peanut butter smoothie and the protein bites and both were tasty. The 2nd time I had the Buffalo Bowl, which had the steak, roasted chicked with Cauliflower and coconut rice drizzled in franks hot sauce. It was very filling (I don't say that often when eating "healthy" because most places don't offer enough). The food was delicious, the meat was unbelievably tender and the rice was cooked in a rice cooker right in front of me. My 3rd dinner was the jamaican jerk chicken bowl with cocnut rice, sweet potatoes and roasted potatoes. Everything again was cooked to perfection. Super tender chicken, the sweet potatoes had that grilled char to them which i loved and the roasted potatoes were good also. This is my new go to that I treat myself to every weekend. This spot is a little area I didn't know about until I went for a walk during my lunch hour. I found it as it had purple and white lettering with the name of the restaurant on the windows. When I walked in I was right away greeted from the guy behind the counter. I told him it was my first time there and he instantly told me how everything works for ordering. Can't believe there aren't more reviews for this place! First, it's the only local biz as far as I'm aware that serves buttered coffee which is enough to warrant 5-stars in my book, but more than that - I love the fresh, real food concept and the menu that changes on the daily. Concept wise, it's $8 for a small or $10 for a large, which contains a "Base" (spinach/kale or coconut/wild rice of sorts), which you can then choose a main dish (I had the Vegan Fritters) and choose some sides (I got the pesto chicken and brussels sprouts). For the small, I thought the value was decent and best of all, the food felt healthy and fresh and I felt good about my choices here. The buttered coffee was tasty as well and they use Tipico beans for the roast. Free wifi (not advertised, but seems like they were happy to give the wifi out), everything is gluten free and a side business offering prepared/packaged prep meals, with a focus on keto-friendly, gluten free, but overall just plain old healthy offerings. So glad Feature Eatery is now here instead of the Dunkin Donuts that was once in its place...only open for breakfast/lunch, but hope they stick around for a while. read more

So nice to have another vegan option downtown. I had popped my head in once before but didn't order anything. A few weeks later, I was in search of lunch and I decided to take a peak on my way to Expo after being disappointed by the menus as The Lunch Box, 447 Main, and Jerks being closed on Mondays. When I saw vegan fritters on the menu, I was sold. Then it looked like they were out of sides and I could feel the disappointment setting in. I asked if they were out of sides and the person checked in the back as a courtesy, not expecting to find anything. He came back with a fill tray of Brussels sprouts and a tray of carrots and parsnips. I enthusiastically ordered a meal and took it back to my office to eat. The food was great. I'm always excited to see vegan pesto and the whole place is a really great concept. It's hard to get a hearty portion of veggies at lunch without ordering a salad. Great concept and well-executed. Lots of fresh choices to make a meal. You can choose a main, side, and base or a few sides with a base. It seems like they change up their menu depending on what is in season. Check out their site for their lasted offerings. I ended up getting 3 vegetable sides (3 bean salad, roasted broccoli, and Greek potatoes) with spinach as the base. All the veggies brought great flavor without being drowned in oils. If you eat gluten-free or vegetarian/vegan be sure to check this place out. Everything is gf except for the cookies in the jar at the register. (I believe that these cookies are made at a local bakery, not by Feature). Looking forward to going here again. Would love it if they opened a spot in the Southtowns. I really wish there was a Core Life Eatery in Downtown Buffalo , that is usually my go to healthy and quick meal place. But , now that I discovered that Feature is only about a 5 minute walk from my job, I am now not missing Core Life as much . Chose a protein , base and two sides (or any combination of those but that is what I chose ) and get a tasty, healthy and filling bowl. I chose coconut milk rice (excellent ) chicken with lemon sauce , roasted Brussel sprouts and buffalo cauliflower. I also added one Turkey meatball in a curry sauce . The cauliflower was a bit spicy for me but I enjoyed both proteins and the sprouts . Also I need to mention again how much I liked the rice ! I foresee more Feature in my future! I went for the first time today for lunch. It's been open a while and is right next to my office, but for some reason I hadn't made it yet. Anywho, it's great! I went right at noon but somehow managed to avoid a line (lots of people walked in after me). Fortunately I'd looked at the menu online so I wasn't one of *those people* who holds up the line trying to decide. The offerings are pretty limited, but I'm guessing that's by design to keep the quality up and time/cost down. I had the Thai pork meatballs on coconut rice with sweet potatoes and Italian green beans, which was very good all around. This was a "large" due to the 2 sides and was more than filling. I could have made due with a small and been fine, but wanted to try more options. I see they have breakfast too, so I may hit that up soon (pretty sure this was the location of the old Dunkin' Donuts and there's been a coffee/breakfast void around my office since the Timmy Ho's in Key Tower also closed around the same time). It was around 730 when I arrived and they close at 8 and boy do the staff make sure they are walking out the door at 7:55 kind of place. I have been there now a few times but it does not surprise me how rude the male owners are with customers. You walk in and not greeted and are not courteous . I saw an interaction with an apparent delivery person and was shocked. If your business revolves around people and food service it would behove you to act better. Their catering and in-store food: 100%. Their meal prep, which is the bread and butter of their business, as I understand it, closer to 80% approval. The only difference between the two: there seems to be less juice/sauce on the prepared meals. I got the gluten free kit this week and there was no sauce on the thai meatballs and pulled pork dishes. I mean, the flavors are still good on their own, but it makes it taste more like a prepped microwave meal than the deliciousness I know they can be from having their catering along with a cookie and smoothie in store. Given they know people will be heating up the meals it makes sense (to me) to cover them in more juice rather than less. On the note of in-store food: their peanut butter cookie - done, I'm eating them all. They are only open Mondays for people to pick up their kits, so don't expect to go to their storefront every day and make it your regular local. That being said, the extras they have available there on Monday are really good. The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup smoothie was more the consistency of juice, but it had good flavor to it. Of particular renown in their catering: thai meatballs, coconut rice, Buffalo cauliflower, and their classic meatballs. Everyone is happy at work on the days we get Feature catered.
