Vin-chet has it all. 100% gluten free & 100% delicious. They have made to order sandwiches, paninis, pizzas (frozen and fresh) and more. I have tried one of each dessert and I have nothing bad to say about any of it. It's all a home run and you can't go wrong. They frequently have sales and promotions going so it's easy to get a few options of treats. The staff are very welcoming and helpful when I come in as I usually take a long time to pick what I want each visit. They offer suggestions and give samples of new /seasonal products to try. The store itself is a little small inside but they have tables outside you can eat at if you order food. If I did have one critique, it's that the hotdog buns are a little dry but I have never found a gluten free hotdog bun that I like so I can't fault them on that. I am not on a gluten-free diet - like the complete opposite of that - but when I saw there was an autumn bakery tasting day I couldn't resist. I must say: pretty darn good. Not everything was my jam, but I enjoyed more things than I expected. Highlights included pumpkin pie, apple pie, and chocolate cupcakes. I would return for these, gluten or not. The textures of the cakes were very impressive. The chefs here clearly know what they are doing and they do it well. There are a huge variety of items available here, both in the bakery case and along the wall, some on shelves and some frozen or refrigerated. I saw plenty of other gluten-free brands available too in addition to the bakery items. This is the best gluten-free selection I have ever seen in one location. I recently visited during their customer appreciation event and got to try several items. I loved their ginger molasses cookies, cupcake with peanut butter and jelly frosting, and coffee cake. I got 2 lemon poppy seed muffins and 2 orange cranberry muffins and they were huge AND delicious! The bakery also sells a few packaged items not made by them. Vin Chet's Gluten Free bakery is absolutely bonkers to me these days. I used to get goods from there back when my gluten free journey started about 12 years ago, and now I wouldn't bother for a single thing. I'm disgusted and disappointed in how their product quality has practically diminished completely; Crumby and solid cupcakes ( Good luck biting into them ) , and rubbery cookies? I've baked independently for YEARS, gluten free and gluten containing, and I can't wrap my head around how they achieved this consistency. Never again. The real kicker, after spending the $30 for these two things, & saying something to them about it, there's nothing they can do? The girl behind the counter was openly handling cookies with her bare hands--no gloves, no care, just casually wiping her hands on her apron like it was no big deal. To make matters worse, her hair was down, unsecured, with a hair tie sitting uselessly on her wrist. Are basic food safety standards not a thing here? It's disgusting, unsanitary, and frankly, unacceptable. If this is what they do in front of customers, I shudder to think about what happens behind the scenes. My mom called on Wednesday morning (two days after Christmas) to order cookies for a family member who lives out of state. She order 2.5 pounds of mixed cookies - all gluten free - for $50 and they were even able to be shipped for only $25! My cousin got them today, only 2 days later, and they're perfect! Wow...what a dream bakery for anyone who cannot eat gluten. I stopped here on my way to Pennsylvania from Ontario to pick up a GF cupcake for my birthday, yet again. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that everything in the bakery was gluten-free. I didn't really ask the first time I was here and it was so nice to learn I could eat EVERYthing there. I really wish I lived close because they had cupcakes, cookies, and lots of meals in the freezer. The spot was very clean and the cashier was friendly. I know they have a rewards program because she signed me up when I checked out, but I just wish I could go more often and make the most of that. I got 3 cupcakes to take along on my trip. The one I ate the morning of my birthday was cookie dough. They do not taste like they are GF...absolutely delicious. The icing was perfect and the texture of the cake was wonderful. I can't wait until I travel to the States again so I can stop in and stock up on some of the stuff I was checking out. Definitely recommend them. I'm not gluten intolerant but we stopped in for their customer appreciation day. We bought a few things including muffins which my wife said were good, I didn't have any of the muffins. In the past I had signed up for text alerts and emails from Vin-Chet. Recently, I received a text alert that their freezer bread was on sale for $5 a loaf throughout the month of December. That is quite a deal. I stopped in on a Saturday morning and there were many items to choose from. I ended up getting two white breads, I wanted their cottage, but unfortunately they didn't have it in the freezer, a cinnamon raisin loaf, a black and white cookie and a peanut donut for $20. I have had the bread before and you can't taste that it is gluten free, which I like. The black and white cookie I had a day later and it was moist and delicious. The peanut donut I had that day and it was delicious. I would definitely get the donut again, and maybe try some other flavors, but I do really enjoy a peanut donut. So I need to amend my review! First of all, they now have their own app that helps you order ahead, which is quite convenient. I'm always greeted by the professional staff, who are always hard at work when I walk in. They've started doing events where you can sample their holiday offerings for free. The place is clean and has a great variety of delicious gluten free food. The food has made such an improvement since my last review! My only complaint is that their sandwiches are a tad pricey, but you have to expect that when a bakery can't use real flour. We bought the Placek bread from Vin Chet and it was out of this world. We haven't had a Placek bread this good since I was a little girl. It brought all the good memories eating it. Wow. Forget about the gluten-free (GF) stereotypes! This place is amazing in its offerings, beautifully displayed baked goods and variety of products, from GF soup mix packages to party-sized cookie trays. A family member has been booted to the GF aisle (at least for now) and the journey has been frustrating and expensive. Brian's Best is exactly what it says: delicious, is local and found in the freezer section at select locations. BUT VIN CHET is a full blown BAKERY! Every single item in there is gluten-free. Not necessarily dairy free - - some things are. (That's the other piece of our dietary change, no dairy. Ack.) If your idea of GF is dry, cardboard dust mixed with wallpaper paste - run to Vin Chet (or visit their website to find a location that carries the products) for a delightfully inclusive (of your dietary needs) experience. The cupcakes, muffins, coffee cakes, almond rings, cookies and cakes looked like regular, upscale fresh baked goods behind their glass display cases. The prices were not outrageous like many GF products seem to be. A whole gorgeous cake might cost $35. The bread that is GF and Dairy Free is white (sigh) but a large variety of rolls (sub rolls, dinner rolls, etc.) are available. The grain breads contain dairy and were in the freezer. Oh my, the cinnamon raisin loaf looked like a regular loaf. Yummy. The frozen GF pizza dough was available in a wad for $6 or frozen GF pizzas with toppings were ready to take home and pop in the oven. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, ready to assist and undeterred by what must be the ten thousandth question about the products. Had a great experience at Vin-Chet Bakery. This is a very family-oriented business and the workers there are very nice and willing to help in any way that they can. I ordered the special from their menu and it was honestly the best sandwich I have ever had. Don't let the gluten-free fool you, the bread is the best-tasting bread I have ever experienced. The lady at the front counter was also very nice and did everything she could to ensure that my experience was great. I would honestly order from there every day if I didn't live so far away. Vin-Chet should be the name of Gluten Free baked goods in Buffalo. Just sayin'. I'm not a celiac, but my aunt is. Our family was in charge of bringing dessert to Christmas dinner, and she recommended I go to Vin-Chet! I put in my order around December 10th, to be picked up on December 23rd. Probably one of their simpler orders, just two pies - an apple and a pumpkin! Even just going in to order the pies, I loved doing business with them here - the woman I spoke with was just so pleasant! I couldn't wait to pick up the goodies! Naturally, I returned for my order without issue. I honestly had such a delightful interaction with the staff here that I ended up getting a gift card to give to my aunt for Christmas in addition to bringing the pies. The pies, by the way, were absolutely delicious. I know a lot of times you can tell in the texture that something is gluten free, but if you put one of Vin-Chet's pies next to a regular baked pie, and asked me to figure it out, I probably wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. I'm definitely going to come back here. Like I said, I don't have celiac's, but the stuff here is just so good. This place definitely has a benefit of being pretty close to where I live, too. Don't get me wrong I normally don't give negative reviews on places unless they really deserve it. but when I visited here twice on separate occasions with a friend who has a gluten allergy, they clearly don't follow COVID-19 protocols at all. Of the two times I've been here, no one but maybe the cashiers were wearing masks, or gloves, the owner was openly laughing and chuckling about how stupid she thinks the whole pandemic is. And going on shortly after the election about how everything is "fake news" about the pandemic and was spouting off crazy conspiracy theories. The second time I went in here a few weeks ago, nothing has changed. No social distancing can be done in the bakery, no masks on employees, no gloves said for the lone cashier, who clearly was a teenager was following the CDC guidelines for the Covid-19 protocol. The owner laughing and carrying on oblivious like usual and right next to other people. I've filed 2 complaints now with Erie county dept of Heath on this, and I know I'm not the only one who has. read more

Very dissatisfied with the customer service. Our sister came in from TN for the Holidays. As an added bonus, my other sister and I decided it was a great opportunity to celebrate our sister's retirement from a 36 year career with the same company. We ordered her a cake, and asked it be decorated to include "Happy Retirement Carol". The cake was supposed to be ready at noon (we had a lunch reservation for 12:30) I got there at 12:15. I was running behind, and I own it, I did not check the cake when they gave it to me. I live 40 minutes from the bakery and planned the day around that pick up. When we got home, after our lunch, ready to celebrate our sister's milestone, found out they did not decorate the cake. So I called the bakery to let them know what happened. Instead of the Manager on the phone "owning their mistake" and offering an apology, she instead proceeded to bully me, for calling them out. I was born in an era when customer service was a priority, I miss those days. Bottom line, this is a specialty bakery, where people rely on their service and products. In our case GF is not a choice, we are dealing with Celiac disease in our family. Finding dedicated GF establishments, still quite difficult. Consideration for the customers you are "choosing"to serve would be much appreciated. read more

I loved this restaurant/bakery and used to buy items here often. Unfortunately when I came in for a large order in May, none of the employees had masks on. Two were in close contact with me and uncovered food. I am immunocompromised and figured that an establishment that takes such care to not make customers such with gluten would at minimum follow the basic COVID requirements to protect customers from exposure. Recently I had to transition to a gluten-free diet and Vin-Chet provides yummy gluten free desserts, breads etc. Most recently I bought an apple ring for a dessert for a party and it was just delectable! The service at the bakery was very nice and friendly. The actual store is very adorable and has that perfect local, home-baked feel! The bakery also provides their products at my local Wegmans where I've bought their peanut donuts which fulfilled my craving for these sweets. I want to give a quick review of the excellent gluten-free items I've gotten over the years. If you are able to order their pizza hot you could not tell the difference between the best buffalo pizzerias and this gluten-free pizza. They are the perfect blend of gluten-free flour mix - it is undetectable. Their coffee cakes and cookies, rolls and breads are all divine. I've supported and promoted this bakery on social media for years but will no longer go back. They clearly don't care about their customers by not simply wearing a mask. Those who have to adhere to a gluten-free diet are most likely immunocompromised and are more susceptible to contracting COVID-19. When I asked if they could put a mask on while serving me I was given attitude and was scolded and told that "not every one has the same beliefs". This is not an issue about beliefs. It's a public health issue and I wish to keep myself, my family and coworkers safe by just wearing a mask. read more

I have debated about leaving a review but a family member was just admitted to the ICU because of covid and enough is enough. I live out of state and always look forward to some holiday treats from Vin-Chet. Yesterday I want to get some pies for Thanksgiving but walked out empty-handed. The owner of the bakery was boxing up our pies with her mask down below her chin. When I asked her to please put on her mask and box up different pies, she laughed at me and said "what difference does it make?" I answered, that she may be asymptomatic which she laughed at again and said "I am not sick" (totally missing the point of what asymptomatic means). I went on to tell her I am staying with my parents and don't want to take any chances with their health, she again laughed like I was a silly little girl. I am not a little girl. As I said we left without purchasing anything. I would not have posted anything but people are getting sick and some people are even dying for this disease and if store owners think this is a funny situation and that masks are not needed WELL WORKING WITH COSTUMERS FOOD those customers have a right to know. read more
