First time here as we drove through this town and wife's AI search of vegan and gluten free led us here. Upon some studying of the menu wife and I ordered up a storm and the cashier helped us order accordingly to get all the foods we wanted at a lower price point than ordering individually! This man got our back! The food is nothing short of amazing. My chicken and waffle made with oyster mushroom was perfection! Batter was thick but soft. Crunchy yet juicy. Fried but not oily. This dish is a walking contradiction but they walked this fine line and blew this dish out the water! Best chicken and waffles hands down. The drumsticks were the classic with sweet and tangy BBQ sauce with paper thin skin and fibrous underneath. At the end, there's a sugar cane for bone to chew out the sweet "marrow". Highly recommend. My wife loves nachos and theirs were a big hit with impossible meat. I was unfortunate not to have been able to sample it. Jalapeño cornbread? Yes please! I believe it's gluten free and it's just a hint of spicy that builds as you eat more and more of it! H bomb burrito was tasty as well but I did not eat it fresh to do it justice. The dragon fruit lemonade was also refreshing and a fan favorite with the kids. On top of a fantastic meal, the owner and staff were just so welcoming. Visiting Buffalo and I wanted some vegan wings. Sunshine Vegan provided! We stopped in for take-out on our way to the airport. My husband (omnivore) ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich made with fried oyster mushrooms. We shared and both of us loved it. We also ordered wings and shared them and both of us loved them (my husband was quite impressed and he is picky!). I also ordered the ribs plate with sides of jalapeño cornbread, garlic mashed potatoes, and mac 'n cheese. The Mac 'n cheese was the best I've ever had (and it of course was vegan). Some Yelp reviewers had not liked it but I'm glad I tried it because it was perfection. My ribs were nicely seasoned and delicious, but favorites were the wings and that buffalo chicken sandwich! I would come again and order wings as a side and the Mac 'n cheese, and the buffalo chicken sandwich, but then also try the meat loaf, and the Nyah hoagie. OK, this is more than I could eat, but I would save it for other meals, except for the buffalo chicken sandwich--as that is fried it is best eaten right away. My friend and I had a great dining experience here. The service was kind and communicative, and one of the staff came and spoke to us during our meal to see how we were doing and exchange a few friendly words. I had the vegan ribs which was similar to a meatloaf and very tasty, as well as sides of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes both of which were absolutely delicious, and topped off with a tasty hunk of cornbread. My friend got the wings which had a sugarcane "bone" (everything here is vegan!) and were some of the best vegan wings I've ever had, with the only possible competition being the wings at Rochester NY's New Ethic Pizzeria. I am from WAY out of town, the West Coast, and as soon as I walked in I felt like family. I have never experienced a place to eat that has made me feel so much like I belonged there. The food was terrific and the people here are the best. It's an amazing place and I wish I was close enough to go back again and again. This place has a comfortable lived in feel and it is clear it is a part of the community around. Every person on staff was happy and we were treated like we were part of their community. The washroom is a lil sketchy, somebody opened the door on me and food was looking very messy, could use a better presentation. Have known about this restaurant for many years, but never had the pleasure of their food until last wkend. they were at the jamaican festival at larkinville, and even though we weren't hungry, we ordered the pineapple jerk burger b/c at $5.00, we expected it to be small. It was small, but it packed a flavorful punch beyond its weight! Per their website: an impossible burger seasoned with bold jerk spices, topped with sweet pineapple and their signature blue slaw. And, it was on a pretzel bun which makes everything better. don't know what made the slaw blue, but the combination was spot on, and now we know we need to get over to their bricks 'n mortar site to try more of their food! read more

Everything we got was delicious, a bit overpriced than other places but I'm glad it was great. The breakfast 'eggs' were a little bland and I wish they put more seasoning on the tofu, same goes for the cheesesteak, it needed something. The 'cheese' was very watered down to make it more of a liquid but it took away from the flavor. The 'meat' was also missing that signature 'cheesesteak' seasoning. I love the food at this place. After I ate here, I was sad that I didn't try it sooner. They have really good vegan alternatives to the meat dishes and as a lifetime vegetarian, it was enlightening for me to try some of them. My friend and I shared the wings and I got ribs as my entree. Needless to say, the portions were so big that I ended up with leftovers which I gladly ate the next day. The only thing the place could improve upon is the service and ambiance. It's a small place with only a few tables and since they prepare everything from scratch, they take a while to get the good ready. Got excited to see a vegan restaurant on our way back from Niagara so decided to stop by for lunch. We got the Buffalo Wing Dip, Street Tacos (FANTASTIC especially the green sauce on top) and the Buffalo "Chicken" burger. We really enjoyed the side of fries, they were flavourful and crunchy. I felt the fried "chicken" which was actually oyster mushrooms was pretty oily and salty for my taste. The condiments were yummy so overall they came together really well. The nachos with the buffalo dip were also too salty for me :/ The portions are huge, shareable and make for a good 2 person meal. So many great vegan entrees and thankfully such reasonable pricing. Selections are creative and delicious (for example, Carrot tuna dip)...this is a vegan restaurant you can bring your carnivorous friends to, and they will feel like they're not missing out. Lots of "meats" like chick'n, shrimp, steak that are subbed out for non meat items (Konjac, soy, impossible brand, etc.) It's like an "I can't believe it's not dead animal" miracle. The owner Nikki was onsite (she seems to work at least 6 days week) & was incredibly friendly with all customers, greeting many by name. The place is bright and has a laid back fun vibe, with old school Maxwell, MJ & other great music pulsing in the background. Great little place... And there was a parking lot! Which I have learned is a rarity in Buffalo, where you normally have to park on the street and step through snow to get to a place. We got 3 things: The pastelillo (no photo) was basically a fried empanada and it was very good. One was good enough to split for 2 people since it was deep fried. Chicken bacon ranch sandwich: homemade fries were good, sandwich was good, ranch dressing was excellent. Ribs with mac and cheese, cornbread and greens: the star of the restaurant. This was awesome. It seems the ribs were made of jackfruit and it was the most innovative use of jackfruit I've ever seen. Honestly, where do I even start with this place. Well, let me start here if you haven't tried Sunshine Vegan Eats get there ASAP. It's the Black owned and vegan for me! In my short 2 months in Buffalo, I have been to this place more times than I think my bank account or scale would like to admit. When you walk in the atmosphere is super welcoming. I can tell that they are intentional about the vibe they are curating. During Halloween and Christmas, they had all the nice decorations going on and whatnot. I've tried so many items during my time here which I will talk about individually below from very favorite to still good but not the best thing that I ever had. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich - 6/5 Listen this sandwich was so delicious. No kidding it is one of the best vegan chicken sandwiches that I have ever had. A strong statement but it was everything from the flavorful slow to the texture of the patty and the bun they use.... chef's kiss. Sunrise Breakfast 5/5 Phenomenal. Love the crispy golden egged pancakes. Kickass Burger 5/5 Cookies 5/5 These are the bomb. Pastelillos 4.5/5 The Belt Burger 4/5 It was good. It was just a lot for me personally. Impossible Niyah 3.2/5 I was not in love. It legit just tasted like to impossible ground beef on breed to me. Flavorful but just okay. Vegan Lasagne 2.8/5 I just was not in love. Food always comes nicely packaged with the utensils I need. Customer service is always on point! The restaurant is clean and welcoming. The ambiance is on point with the music vibes. Potential Cons: sometimes it can take a minute for the order ( no more than 30). The parking lot is small. It can get pricey, but it's worth every penny! Heard about this place from a local article and it's definitely worth a visit!! I got it on Grubhub delivery so it was pricy, $25 for a sandwich and fries. I'd definitely go back to have this meal again and to try other things. I got the Impossible Niyah. It's a vegan steak hoagie. I'm not vegan and I wouldn't have even been able to tell that this wasn't meat! Very tasty!! Wish there was a little more sauce but I know to ask that for next time. I went here with some friends and tried nearly the entire menu. So here is the rundown: Cheesesteak- you would not even believe it was vegan. It was absolutely delicious. The (cashew?) cheese was great, very creamy. We shared everything and this was the favorite with all of us. I'm not a vegan myself so I do have an occasional meat version of a cheesesteak and this was better than most. I did not miss the gristle or livery taste you get sometimes. It comes with fries. They are the handcut variety and I would consider them on par with the other best fries in the city (Franks and Allen St Poutine IMO). Tacos- we got two kinds. Street and fish. Loved the street taco, the plantain was nice and sweet. It was on a flour tortilla. It was nice to have that change up since most tacos in other places are corn. As for the fish tacos, I don't care for seafood and it tasted enough like fish that I wasn't a fan, but my friends really enjoyed it. Fried green tomatoes - also good....just like my mom made them only with a delicious cilantro sauce that was unexpectedly bright and tangy. Fire Fries- Sooooooo yummy, as mentioned earlier the fries are amazing., then you top it with meat and cheese and spicy veggies, you really have something Waffles and shrimp- as mentioned, I don't care for seafood, but I really liked the vegan shrimp. It had the same texture as shrimp but not as fishy. For this reason, cheesy grits and shrimp will be what I get next time. Nachos- they were OK. Maybe if I wasn't so wow'ed by everything else, I would have paid them more attention. We also had carrot cake, which was great. So if you are not a vegan or vegetarian, give it a try, you won't be disappointed at all. If you are a vegan then this is the place, plenty of delicious food and not a piece of kale in sight. So many different things to try, but their smoothies and their vegan wings are a must for every visit. Brand new 100% vegan black-owned business on Jefferson. The inside is brightly lit and colorful with music videos playing on a wall mounted television. Order at the counter for dine in or take out. Food comes packaged in to go containers either way. It took a minute to pay because the person collecting payment was still learning to work the iPad, but they just had their soft opening yesterday, so no big deal. I'm just glad this place exists Once we ordered, the food game out pretty quickly, five minutes or so. I got the shrimp and waffles, hubs got the breakfast combo which of tofu scramble, sliced bacon, grits, and home fries with plenty of onions and veggies mixed in. Hubs immediately remarked the tofu scramble had actual flavor, which having eaten many scrambles, we know is not ways the case. Bacon was great, a very hammy taste it it. The home fries also have great flavor and I love the burnt onion bits. It came with two ketchup packets and while I normally smother my breakfast potatoes with ketchup, I didn't dare put any on these. The shrimp has an awesome flavorful coating. The person behind me was saying they have a shrimp allergy and they explained it's not real shrimp and he will fine. He seemed excited to get to have it They take credit cards. My daughter and I are from San Diego, and we were passing through Buffalo and looked up vegan restaurants to eat at and found this wonderful place! The entire menu looked amazing but we settled on the tofu scramble, vegan sausage and pancakes, Brussels sprouts, and impossible egg rolls. I also got an elderberry shot yum! And we took chocolate chip cookies to go. What a feast and it was all incredibly delicious. I can't recommend this enough!! Even if the weather hadn't pulled through, Madame Sunshine was radiating it, from her personality to the food. I identify as pescetarian, and my mate is an omnivore. We are both food lovers, even with the complications of an eating disorder and tree nut allergy. We were assured that unless we ordered cookies that I wouldn't be poisoned. Which is good to know, as much as I love cheese, and her cooking, that isn't how I want her to take my breath away. We had ordered on door dash, with intentions to take our food to go, though she let us come grab a table when she found out we were running early. My mate grabbed a lime soda from the fridge, utilizing the provided bottle opener to access the goods. She placed our takeout containers in front of us, which I opened to find bursting with fries. They reminded me of a straight version of an Arby's fry, soft with skins, and a perfect hint of salt in each bite. I could only manage to eat half, as could my mate of his plate. If you're getting a meal, come ravenous, as she will fill your satisfied gut. My mate got the niyah, a word here meaning Philly cheese steak. He noted that the traditional flavor was there. The lack of animal fiber led to a bit sloppier of a sandwich, yet the costanzo type roll held it all together as it made its way to his delighted tatsebuds. They were minorly disappointed by the cheese, as while the consistency was great, the flavor got lost by the other components of the dish. A good showing to leave him curious about what else they have to offer. I dug into my lettuce wrapped Jeff, sans sauce. I honestly cannot tell you what the shrimp was made out of, as all I could taste was shrimp. For a tiny thing, they pack a big flavor punch. The pickle was sweet. I usually pick dill, but it worked well to balance the flavors of the dish. If you need to use the bathroom, choose either door, as they're all inclusive around these parts. The owner is an absolute doll, with talent to prove she merits the sunshine title. To quote one excited customer in the room: "the ribs are off the chain." I'm so excited I was able to try this restaurant and I was amazed by the steady flow of customers during our time eating. Some of the menu items you wouldn't even know were vegan, we actually asked to make sure it was definitely all vegan. I enjoyed the shrimp tacos which were delicious and unique. I also got the carrot "tuna" dip which was a generous serving served with tortilla chips. We also ordered loaded tortillas which were good. My sister got the pot pie which was delicious. Servings were large which allowed for leftovers. I would definitely like to come back to this restaurant and try other items. I highly recommend it! As someone who doesn't eat meat, of course I had to try Sunshine Vegan Eats. While I'm still looking for the dish that absolutely amazes me, I've enjoyed what I ordered, and there's still a lot of the menu I haven't tried. I've tried a lot of faux-beef and chicken, so when I saw that Sunshine Vegan had vegan shrimp and fish on the menu, I wanted to try those since they're not as commonly found. I got the Jefferson, which is a vegan shrimp po' boy. I used to like real shrimp, but the texture of the vegan shrimp was definitely not right. The rest of the sandwich was fine, but I didn't care for the shrimp at all. I enjoyed the Legendary Fish Sandwich a lot more. The vegan fish tasted like Gardein's Fishless Filets, which you can find in the grocery freezer aisle. I happen to like Gardein, so no issue there for me. My husband, who stopped eating meat more recently than I did, loves the Kick Ass Burger so much that he isn't really inclined to try anything else on the menu. He was really impressed by how meat-like the patty tasted. I haven't tried the burger yet, but will have to at some point, if he loves it that much. The sandwiches come with an ample amount of fries, but unfortunately they don't travel well. We've gotten our food as delivery, but maybe the fries are a lot better if you pick up your food yourself and eat right in the car. We don't live that far, but the fries are still pretty limp by the time we get to eating. The onion rings are also floppy by the time they get to us, but they don't skimp on the breading/batter, if you're a fan of that. Two little things I think could be improvements would be if Sunshine Vegan Eats: 1) put sauces on the side to help prevent foods from getting soggy, and 2) provided more ketchup for meals that come with fries (when we ordered two sandwiches that both came with a lot of fries, plus a side of onion rings, we only got three packets of ketchup, and definitely had to supplement with our own condiments). But we'll definitely order again, since there's still so much we haven't tried. read more

The topping for the fries were good and very "meaty." However, I had to say the fries ruined everything. They were dry, and they tasted to me like the run-of-the-mill frozen fare taken out.
