    Spring rolls
    Morgan F.

I ordered takeout for the first time from here. The restaurant appears very clean with some seating inside. I was very impressed with how fresh the food was and flavorful. I ordered a side of spring rolls and the lunch special. The spring rolls, hot/sour soup and Szechuan chicken with fried rice were all delicious! This was the best Chinese food that I've had in the WNY area.

Friends were here from out of town and wanted to order take out Chinese. Naturally we went to Wok & Roll. Normally we'd order various dishes to share. Today we went with the dinner specials that come with your choice of rice & and egg roll. The others in my party ordered sesame chicken, General Tso chicken, and beef & broccoli. They all seemed to enjoy their choices. I ordered Kung Po chicken but received a dish loaded with veggies but no chicken. It tasted ok but was disappointed to not get what I ordered. The egg rolls were a decent size & pretty tasty, not at all greasy. Overall good meal which is what I always expect here even with not getting what I ordered. 2024-89

L12. Chicken Eggplant. It was a bigger lunch portion than I expected. Pleasantly sweet, but could be spicier. In general a very tasty dish.

Perfect time to update my review. Honestly, no need to look further for Chinese/Cantonese food when in the area. Today's experience was even better than usual. The food was consistently delicious, very clean and fresh. With friendly service, I couldn't ask for more. We just always have a pleasant time at Wok & Roll.

Extra Sauce for General Tso's Tofu (a must)
    Sam B.

The best takeout Chinese food we have eaten so far in WNY! The food was refined, tasty, well seasoned but not too salty or oily, and being vegetarians we appreciated the large amount of vegetables in each of the dishes. It could have been spicier but still great tasting. We had the Curry Tofu (appeared to be in a coconut sauce), General Tso's Tofu (with extra sauce on the side), Sesame Tofu (comes on a bed of broccoli), vegetable Tofu, and Vegetable LoMein. The only negative was the LoMein which was a little too oily for our taste and not too many vegetables. Rice was well made and dinner came with fortune cookies. Quantity was adequate but not as much as you get in other takeout places. This is a nice dine-in. Restaurant and not just a takeout place. We will be back!!!! PS: the tofu was crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside.... Great texture!

    General tso lunch special

I came and placed a to-go order for general tso's. It's a small place but there is seating (not just takeout). Food was ready fast. The price was right for the lunch special. I didn't love it, personally. I didn't finish my egg roll which was an up charge. The chicken wasn't crunchy at all. It wasn't horrible or anything but just not for me. I did like the fried rice though.

Lately I haven't been able to find a Chinese restaurant that has really good orange chicken however this place definitely changed that! The chicken was crispy and tasty! I also ordered crab Rangoon but the filling wasn't what I expected it to be. Over all the experience was good and I didn't have to wait too long for my order.

Wow wow wow! I can't say enough about this place. We came in after the snow storm looking for something yummy and we found to. I haven't had wonton soup this good anywhere else!! The crab Rangoon was so flavorful and delicious!!!!! For meals I had the Beef and Broccoli. My family had General Tsos chicken, sesame chicken, fried dumplings, and sweet and sour chicken. Everything was perfect. We had left overs too. I shared it with my friends and they all had visited before and said it was the best spot they'd been to for this cuisine in forever. So you have to check it out!!

    Orange chicken combo
    Elayna H.

I've been craving Chinese for a while so went for it today and ordered from the place closest to my work. WOW. I am beyond pleasantly surprised. I ordered the lunch combo orange chicken with brown rice and wonton soup. The chicken is white meat, delicious, not over cooked, and the orange sauce is perfectly spicy! Beautiful presentation. Great price. I will definitely become a regular here!

Szechuan chicken dinner with fried rice and eggs roll
    Eli J.

I tried this restaurant for take out. Online ordering process is simple and food is waiting at a table in the front. I had the Szechuan chicken dinner with fried rice and egg roll, beef with scallion and onions, and fried pork dumplings. Overall, this seems like a pretty decent Chinese restaurant. The food in general is good, reasonably priced, and good sized portions. The Szechuan chicken was good, I would probably get it again. The chicken seems good quality, as well as veggies and the sauce is good too. The beef with onions had excellent flavor, the beef seemed to be of lower quality. The fried dumplings were pretty standard, thin wrapper pork dumplings. They were mediocre, much better dumplings at other local restaurants within 5 mins. They have a pretty big menu, definitely worth trying a few times. I would recommend this place to a friend to try.

    Chicken and Broccoli

If you're looking for solid Chinese takeout, look no further than Wok & Roll! Wok & Roll has two menus: more Americanized, "classic" Chinese takeout, and a traditional Cantonese menu. I've never tried any of their Cantonese foods, but the pork buns are calling my name, so I'll have to try them sometime! Tonight we ordered what my boyfriend would describe as a Gilmore Girls style takeout dinner: lots of yummy eats from their menu so we could have lunch and dinner for tomorrow too! I got the crab Rangoon and chicken and broccoli. The crab Rangoon were crispy and delicious! The sauce that comes with them is a must too. I also enjoyed my chicken and broccoli but my one small complaint is that the dish was super broccoli heavy and only had a small amount of chicken. Regardless, the sauce was tasty and the meal as a whole was delicious. I wish Wok & Roll was closer to where we lived because I think it would easily be my regular Chinese takeout spot! Every once in awhile, though, it's a great weekend treat.

    Crab Rangoon

Way better than expected! Usually Chinese food has you running for the.....dental floss! Not tonight, the chicken was fresh and tender, really yummy and saucy. Even had some extra garnishes that were also fresh (can't say yummy because I didn't want to bite I to that hot pepper). The crab rangoons!!!!! Ooh don't get me started! They were like nothing I have had before, they had actual crab meat!!! Fantastic!!! It wasn't a shell of a Rangoon where they stuffed it with just cream cheese that melted out in the fryer, there was substance and IT HAD THE MEAT! Highly recommended, it was worth the cost.

Chicken lo mein with brown rice
    Bella B.

Wow! Amazing Chinese food at a good price! Place was quiet aside from a few people grabbing take out. It's small inside but has great atmosphere. Very relaxing. Started off with the wonton strips with a sweet and sour sauce. Those where pretty good. The real star of the show for me was the wanton soup! Delicious served in a cute bowl and made with homemade broth! For my main I had the lunch chicken chow mein with brown rice. It was also super super great! Will 100% be back!

It was outstanding…read more The place was packed, in booths and at tables, with Asian families enjoying traditional dishes like congee with roasted duck, and multiple types of noodle dishes and dumplings (bao). Although the dim sum menu is a single page, there are enough different kinds of foods here that even the pickiest of eaters will find something to satisfy them. Vegetarians and vegans will be happy here too. I was really pleased to see that hot and cold soy milks are offered: This restaurant caters to the Asian community, many of whom are lactose-intolerant. The bao are $5.50 - $6.50 for a steamer basket of 3-5 items; it's listed on the menu how many bao to expect, in case you're dining with a crowd. (And you really should!) The congee is listed as "small bowls" for $7.50, but I think at least 3-4 cups of soup fits there. It's easily shared. The stuffed eggplant I ate in Nanjing had ground pork, garlic scapes, and ginger. The ones served here are stuffed with an enormous sweet shrimp in each piece of tender eggplant: Better than I remember. The sesame balls were a little different too: I remember a pale, sweet paste inside a crispy deep-fried ball covered in sesame seeds. Here, the inner paste was sweet and black, but the flavor was the same. So was the joy in eating them. The pork with black bean sauce was so tender and delicious! We made that plate disappear! The har gow/crystal shrimp were perfect. We plan to return soon to try their spicy beef noodles ($13.95) and custard tarts - the recipe for which the Portuguese Jesuits brought to Macao in the 16th century. The atmosphere of the Golden Duck is very relaxed: A dim sum meal is usually a time to drink a little tea, eat a little food, and get caught up with family or friends. There's a full bar if you're celebrating; there's also a private banquet room. The regular menu is also available during the dim sum hours, as is a Mongolian buffet. The regular menu has Peking duck, available with some notice. My favorite celebration meal! Parking is in a strip mall lot, well off the street.

The place looks like a home that was converted into a restaurant with parking in the back but once you enter, you feel like you are going into one of your Auntie's places for an actual home cooked meal. And they did not disappoint! Each dish was made to order and took a short time but you could tell it was prepared by a chef with a lot of experience and care--just looking at how the veggies were chopped/diced you can see they put their energy into each dish. The flavors were really superb and not at all overpowering and one major bonus--nothing was over salted or over oily as you might think typical Chinese food can get. Our party of 4 loved every bite and finished all our dishes, no leftovers. As you can see in the photos, they make an excellent meal. Prices are also very affordable and competitive with anything near the touristy areas. So if you want a solid, great meal prepared by a true mom & pop kitchen that feels like a home cooked meal, you really gotta try them out. I asked them how business was in summer vs winter and they said it's tough when it's winter (less tourists) but they make it work. It's also nice and quiet/intimate so you can have an actual conversation with your group rather than try to talk over some loud music at a chain restaurant! ----TL;DR---- Pros: excellent Chinese cuisine at very affordable prices and great portions. Not too salty or oily. And super nice, friendly owners who provide great service and great food. Cons: not easy to walk to from the main strip but if you have a car it's an easy drive.
