Steak fajitas (double)
Steve M.

A fun restaurant! Looks nice. Fun atmosphere. They go all out for birthdays. Hard to not have a good time here. The food was good. My wife and I can eat. But let me tell you the double order of fajitas is more like a quad order. So MUCH FOOD. And it was good. No one left hungry. Seemed like everyone enjoyed what they got. The queso is fine. Not special. Not even that good. Lacked flavor. The salsa is also fine/good. Not the best Mexican food I've had, but a good spot to check out.

3 tacos, trio of dips

We went on a Friday and out our name and number down: they said 20min. We made our way to the bar and got a drink, after 30min+ we deduced to eat at the bar so I went to tell the hostess to take our name off- they were completely past our name and acted like they never called us- so make sure they write your phone number down correctly.. th food was great as always! I love the birthday music and when they have live bands! Great place to eat at!

This place is great! I was craving tortilla soup and boy did they deliver! That was amazing! Matt really enjoyed his enchiladas. And the chips are really good, salsa was delish, service was amazing. Live music every other Wednesday, and the best dinner staff birthday celebration you will ever find. And the service is very fast and friendly. No notes at all, keep it up!! Can't wait to come back here!

Full taco meal with rice and beans

Food and service fantastic. Food:I had two chicken and one steak taco with bacon, lettuce, and, tomatoes with Mexican rice and refried beans. It was delicious! My guest had a flight of tacos and enjoyed them. Surprisingly, although they were small in size they were very hearty and we both ended up taking boxes home. Ambiance: Clean and Festive with loads of opportunities for nice backgrounds for photos. Also, I usually don't mention the bathroom, but it was super clean and smelled wonderful. The stalls were also very private. Service: Food came out quickly and our sever was attentive and pleasant. Pluses all around.

The restaurant is big, beautifully decorated, and recently renovated. It was packed on a Monday for dinner. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious! We left full and happy.

This has become the new spot to visit every trip home. The salsa is delicious and fresh, the lunch meal deals are among the best value in WNY, and the ambiance is so cute. I've loved seeing how they celebrate patron's birthdays at other tables, and they have funny specials connecting to the Bills. I have loved my burritos every time and their guacamole is delicious-- which makes sense with the name.

Mojarra Frita Plate

I had a great time with my mom at dinner tonight. The food was amazing! I had Fried Fish (tilapia) Mojarra Frita plate. The sauce on top of the fried fish was a bit much and caused for that side of the fish to be soggy as I enjoy the crispy skin. But overall the fish was good. The server was nice, but it was hard to hear him speak with the live music that was going on. I did enjoy the singer as he really brought the place to life! All in all, I would recommend El Canelo over this place as the dishes are just as good but cheaper while being a locally owned small business.

We stopped in for margaritas on National Margarita day. The inside is lovely! We sat at the bar and wasn't crowded at noon. We had two margaritas each and shared the dip trio. I will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu.

The food, atmosphere, and our server, Lexi, were wonderful. There are several TVs to watch games and there were specials on drinks and apps during the Bills game.

I've now been to Aquacates twice since they opened and both times the food and atmosphere has been awesome! Some of the food can be a bit pricey, but it makes up with how delicious it is. The first time I visited I had the birria tacos and the last visit I had there I had the Baja tacos. The Baja tacos were delicious, and the grilled shrimp was fresh and juicy. My birria tacos my first visit were also delicious! Their chips are fresh and crunchy, and they pair amazingly with their salsa. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated, as well as the bathrooms. They have very friendly servers who are always willing to explain menu items and options. I also find the birthday celebrations they do so fun and cute!

Fresh made guac

Went twice, but remembered to review it this time! This time we came for my FIL's bday! They took our reservation and serviced us perfectly! The rest of our party arrived a bit later, but our waitress was so helpful and gave us a heads up when it was close to kitchen. So we were able to order and enjoy our food. I forgot what we all ordered, but the prices are STEEP. Think $17 to $90 range... HOWEVER, the food and amount of food you get is worth it, especially with the amazing waitstaff, and the beautiful decor. If you have a Birthday guest, there's a special show and Two choices of dessert for the birthday person. (Very fun, my FIL LOVED it). We were also able to order to have our guacamole made fresh next to our table, it was super cool and fun to see. Excited for my next visit!

Amigo Especial (Lunch)

I recently checked out Aguacates Mexican Cantina with some friends during their soft launch and had a fantastic experience. The service was outstanding--our waitress was super attentive, kept our drinks filled, and checked in regularly, which was much appreciated. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a really pleasant place to dine. The food was fantastic, and the portions were huge. I had the Lunch Amigo Especial and couldn't finish it all, so I took half home! The prices were reasonable for what you get. They didn't have horchata available at lunch, and I didn't get to try the birria tacos this time because they were a bit pricey at $21 for lunch, but I'm looking forward to trying them on my next visit. Our waitress also mentioned they're rolling out some great specials as they gear up for their hard launch at the end of August. Wednesdays feature $5 regular margaritas and $6.50 flavored margaritas, while Thursdays offer taco flights (if I remember correctly!). Definitely a great spot to checkout for lunch if anything!

The craziest part about it is that Winfield's Pub is literally just 10 minutes from my House. A conveniently small place that packs big Bold Flavors. Like as you are driving down Ridge Road towards the main Lackawanna area. A place that if you want to enjoy, you'd have to park in front of it or park on the Side Streets of the neighborhood across from it and walk over. After trying out their Food at a Stillwater Farm Dinner consisting or Birria Tacos and Sausage stuffed Chicken Breast. To me that was a nice welcoming Card telling me to come right away instead of wasting more time ignoring the Place. You walk up 3 Steps and in you are greeted by the Owner's wife Sherryl, the Owner and the Head of Winfield's (Tab Daulton) is running the show making sure food gets pumped out of their Small Kitchen. While their son Thomas is at the Bar making Cocktails of the highest Quality with some of the most unique names that I've ever heard. My 1st visit was enjoying a Birthday Dinner with loved ones in the center of the Restaurant. While going over the menu, I had my 1st Cocktail called The Ghostwriter in a tall cylindrical glass that had Gin, Herbal Liqueur, Coconut, Lime, Lemongrass Syrup & Dill. Sweet and Herbaceous. Next up was some Fresh made Focaccia Bread studded with Rosemary, Garlic, Tomatoes and Zucchini that was so Warm and Flavorful like it just came right out the Oven. You know I like to drink Beer and cook with it too, I couldn't help but get myself a cup of their Beer Cheese soup with Bratwurst and Housemade Croutons. Every single Spoonful I took was Rich with a hint of Spicy heat at the end. Next up was a plate off Duck Confit Poutine with Goat Cheese (I opted for that instead of Cheese Curds). You might look at it and see a big globby mess but what I saw and what I ate was pure Gluttonous Heaven. French Fries, bits of Rich and Tender Duck Meat and mild and Tangy Cheese which equaled a comforting Bite. Next was another Cocktail I got called the Dirty Harry (named after one of Clint Eastwood's best-known roles). Another drink that hit hard consisting of Pineapple, Doctor Bird Rum, Boomsa Herbal Liquor and Banana Shrub Jam. While waiting for my main course, I tried some of Nathan's BBQ Pork Belly Burnt Ends. Who doesn't like tender Pieces of Meat with the outside bring Crispy while the Meat inside just melts away on your Tongue. For our Entrees, everyone enjoyed something different like Nathan and Brianna having Seared Chicken with Vegetables, Mike enjoying a Burger, Rick just getting a few Appetizers, Grandma Carol eating Fish Tacos, Jimmy and Kathy enjoying a Steak. While I got myself Seared Scallops over Sweet Corn Risotto with Tarragon. This looked to me and ate like a Summer Dish, why on earth was it on the Menu during close to Fall/Winter, I don't know. But I'll say this, I loved every bite, you get Sweetness from both the Seafood and the Corn with the Tarragon at the end giving it a light hit of Licorice. Thomas kindly gave me a Complimentary Drink while waiting for Dessert called the Legislation #2. It had Rye Whiskey, Dry Vermouth, Orange Cognac and Acidic Phosphate. While it had all those Ingredients, it was a simple looking Drink with a Jurassic sized Ice Cube in it. But I will say this, this drink packed one heck of a Potent Punch. To finish off the Meal, I got myself a big slice of Guinness Chocolate Cake. One of my favorite Beers has been Transformed into a Dessert. It had such a Deep chocolate Flavor with richness from the frosting packed in between each layer. I walked over and personally thank Tab and his Crew for the great Food that night. The only issue we had was waiting to get our Checks, but other than that everything went great. Another one to cross off my list, another restaurant that I will no longer Ignore. Winfield's better be ready for some more Visits from me in the Future. !!!

We met up with some friends about 6pm, it was pretty busy, but it's usually like post work people at the bar enjoying and camaraderie. We sat in the covered patio area, after grabbing some menus from the bar. For those new to this, you order your food at the bar if you're not eating right at the bar. The folks here that work are super kind, and I see the same two every time I come in so it's pretty consistent. The four of us ordered some drinks, burgers and a specialty flavored basket of wings. It came out pretty quickly for how busy it was. We all demolished our food, and spent a good two hours there just chatting and catching up. I'm a creature of habit and got the black and blue burger with fries. I also got the cider. My boyfriend got the prohibition signature burger with tots, and the seasonal Pumpking beer. We got the chili garlic wings and those were solid. Drowned in sauce and crispy. Our friends got the Bern burger with tots and the prohibition signature turkey burger with onion rings. They got a beer and a Cabernet respectively. I really enjoyed my cider and they enjoyed their drinks. The burgers were on point as always, and I enjoy my fries with vinegar and ketchup. Onion rings and tots were nice and crispy without being greasy. No complaints at all here. Will be back soon.

Overall, the food was excellent, but the service could definitely use improvement.

However, after my brother's Sweet 16, the total was suddenly increased to $2,200 with no clear explanation. When questioned, the owner denied ever agreeing to the original price, despite multiple witnesses and repeated conversations confirming it. There were also several other inconsistencies leading up to the event. Initially, the owner told my mother that decoration would be handled and specifically instructed her not to bring anything like balloons. Closer to the event, that changed, and we were then told that no decorations would be provided at all. What made the situation even more frustrating was that only about half of our expected guests attended, meaning less work and fewer resources were needed. Despite this, the price was still significantly increased. My mother even attempted to pay in advance to avoid any confusion, but the owner declined at the time, only to later raise the price. The way this situation was handled caused significant stress and ultimately left my mother in tears and my brother very upset on what was supposed to be a special celebration. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this venue and would encourage others to look elsewhere. I would give this zero stars if I could
