I think this might be one of my favorite restaurants for taking a family in the Buffalo area! They have a menu filled with variety (but not overwhelming), plenty of different dining areas, and I especially love sitting outside in the summertime. The service was superb. Christina was one of the kindest, most genuine waitresses I've had in a long time. Their kids' menu prices have to be the same as they were at least five years ago, just $5, including a drink and a side. You really can't beat that! I was torn between their corned beef and chicken fingers, so I secured that I could get a finger from a shared meal and then ordered the Mother Superior. I substituted grilled sourdough since I'm not a fan of Kimmelweck seeds. This sandwich was loaded with tender corned beef and absolutely delicious with the melty Swiss, creamy Russian dressing, and lightly cooked red onions. We also ordered Combo #2 to share, which has several Buffalo favorites: chicken fingers, wings, beef on weck, and waffle fries. It was a LOT of food for a very reasonable price. My boys said the wings were amazing and perfectly crispy. There were plenty of waffle fries to share, and the chicken tenders were nice and crispy too. The kids loved their meals: mozzarella sticks, boneless wings, and chicken tenders. The fries were just okay, but when you have a vessels of blue cheese and a salt grinder on the table, you know they're going to be just fine. And then there's dessert... Very smart marketing to have a display of their homemade desserts right on the table! Our waitress mentioned that everything is made by their pastry chef, so of course we had to order a couple. We went with the pistachio cheesecake and peanut butter pie. The peanut butter pie was so smooth and creamy, and the kids loved the cookie crust and puddle of chocolate sauce. One of them actually said it was too much peanut butter. I had no idea there was such a thing! The pistachio cheesecake had a cake bottom with a thick, rich layer of cheesecake on top. We really liked the addition of lemon, it added a nice freshness to balance everything out. I absolutely love this spot and highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food, a great atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Saw on Facebook a post about their soup of the week. Stuffed hot pepper soup. Absolutely had to get in to try it. It was incredible, should absolutely be a permanent menu item. Only available from 4-10 PM for some reason. I had the fish fry. Fish was perfect, fries were meh. Tartar sauce came in thimble size plastic cup and was half full. Server brought more but seriously? Had a great fish fry at JPs! Beer battered fish fry was very good! Sides were also great. I had the slaw and the macaroni salad... both were very good... but especially love their coleslaw!! The Scarlet Vetter says....I needed a night off from cooking on a summer Friday, after a long work week. I made a reservation at this Irish pub about an hour from my home which is in the Southern Tier and my husband and I made arrangements to meet a friend for dinner at 7 pm. The restaurant was close to his house, which was the reason for choosing it. The reservation system was easy to use. We arrived at 7, and parking was a little tight but we found a spot close to the facility. When we walked in, we were greeted promptly. A few couples were in the waiting area and I began to worry that we were going to have to wait to be seated to have dinner, but it turns out that making a reservation was pretty brilliant, because we got taken right away and it appeared that the people who were waiting, did not have reservations. They were out of booths, so they asked if a table would be okay and it was, and so we were seated quickly. The restaurant was quite busy, but it really wasn't very noisy. A server came by in about five minutes asking for our drink orders. The menu was very extensive, and there was something for everyone. It was actually quite impressive. Our friend decided on the Mini Beef on Weck with a side of crispy waffle fries and a side salad. My husband decided on the "Bangers and Mash" with a cup of soup of the day, and I ordered the open Rueben, which sounded delicious. My friend and I also ordered side salads. Apparently, the restaurant makes their own rye bread fresh every day and that is what tempted me to try an entree that had rye bread. The drinks came quickly and the food was actually quickly delivered as well within approximately twenty minutes. Our salads and soup came first and about ten minutes later, our entrees arrived. Everything was really good. The salad was crisp with varied greens and it had sliced cucumbers, a wedge of tomato and rings of red onion on it. There was quite a selection of dressings to choose from. Our friend wanted croutons and cheese on the top of his salad, and the server gladly complied. My friend said his beef on weck was delicious. My Rueben was also quite good with a healthy amount of corned beef, sauerkraut and a delicious russian dressing. The bread was amazing, thick cut, fresh and tangy, but because I'm watching my carbs, I only ate half of it. The nice thing about the open Rueben, was that it only came with one piece of bread, as opposed to the closed Rueben, which is a grilled sandwich, so I could avoid a lot of carbs by getting the open Rueben. I had ordered a glass of pinot noir, and the server deftly noticed when it was getting empty and asked me if I wanted another one, which was nice. The prices seemed reasonable. In all, I would definitely go back to this place for a nice, casual dining experience. read more

Started off with a crock of French onion soup which was spectacular. Extra cheesy with incredible pull, and still crispy around the edges. The table has various types of the corned beef and all looked great and huge portions. Not the biggest fan of corned beef but still tried the corned beef quesadilla. It was really good and loved the sauerkraut in it. If you don't like Irish food, plenty of other food options including beef on weck and chicken wings. They were very accommodating, had a reservation for 8 but asked them when we arrived to change to a 9 top. Having different rooms helps create a great atmosphere. This is an Irish pub/restaurant that is a good size and has both indoor and outdoor seating. We ate there around 6 pm on a Thursday and it wasn't super busy yet. Their food is delicious with generous portions. My husband had the Irish dip, which is just like a French dip, he said it was really good - probably the best he's ever had. My son had the Club House with chips and he really enjoyed it. My daughter had the cheeseburger and fries and it is a large burger but she really gobbled up the whole thing and loved all the pickle spears! Monday lunch with friends, there were eight of us and we were seated in the room I would consider the sun room. My choices were straight cut, waffle or sweet potato so I opted for waffle fries. I would definitely order it again. I'm going to go out on a limb and say their roast beef today is number two on my all time list. Service was great, and quick. The wings were huge and still juicy, the beef on weck was a normal sized sandwich even though it was considered mini and the fries were seasoned and crisp. We used to like going here but lately it's off. Last time we went the chicken wings were sauceless and the beef on the beef in weck was like a cheap deli meat and had no beef flavor. A particular wait staff needs attitude improvement because the last two times she's been grumpy and needs to retire. I don't think she appreciates it when we order cocktails, that second round seems to irritate her, she never asks if we want another and when we ask for a second she is definitely bothered by it. Definitely speaks to the versatility of the menu here! I opted for the souvlaki salad. The portion was huge, and for $15, I'd say it was more than reasonably priced. his was our first visit here and our last. We walked in and not greeted with a hello just a how many, booth or table. The same server that we didn't know would be ours cut us off as we walked to the front. We asked for a booth and we were seated right across from the back end of the bar entrance. My fiancé came back from the bathroom seconds later and I said all they have are Pepsi products. We asked for a diet, a water and a regular Pepsi. She brought our drinks about 2 minutes later. Asked what we wanted. My mother in law ordered a REGULAR hamburger asked for no cheese. Waitress then said cheese? She goes no, no cheese. Asked for how she wanted it cooked and she answered. I ordered spinach dip and French onion soup. My fiancé ordered French onion soup and the Ruben burger. The attitude surfaced again. The shake from her head and the reprimand we got when he asked for fries because he didn't say how he wanted it cooked. We ALL saw it. My mouth dropped. She took our menus and I told my fiancé to get the manager. He went up front to the greeters and told them TO GET THE MANAGER due to the attitude and the attitude needs to stop or we are leaving. The blonde receptionist went to the back and I'm assuming went to the server instead because the manager NEVER came to our table. The receptionist walked past our table and as she was walking past our table shot a look at my mother in law in a disgust way. That's when we had enough. We got up and went up front. We said we want to pay for our drinks and leave. That's when they called the manager up. That's how we knew she never went to the manager because she didn't even know what was going on. They said don't worry about the drinks due to how annoyed we were. We were seriously considering this place as a place for bridal shower party and rehearsal dinner due to all the great reviews.
