Everything sounded so good that picking just one sandwich felt impossible, so we decided to split a couple. The cashier was the absolute sweetest--so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help, which set a great tone right from the start. We ended up sharing the Hideout panini (a delicious vegetarian combo with eggplant and mushrooms) and the Fugetaboutit turkey sandwich. Both were fantastic, and the specialty mayos on each really took them to the next level. Honestly, I probably could have demolished both sandwiches right then and there, but we were deep in conversation so I saved the panini to enjoy later at home. After a good sauna-sweat session at Lumos, a fellow Yelp Elite and I were looking for a good, local spot for lunch, preferably a spot that made sandwiches/paninis. I came across Joe's Panini Grill and Deli and we both agreed this checked the boxes. All-in-all, we had a great experience here! We arrived a little before 1pm on a Monday and grabbed a parking spot right by the main entrance. Their parking lot has plenty of spaces although it's a little bumpy to pull into, the parking lot needs to be repaved/repaired. Upon walking in, it's on the smaller side, but shockingly, there are a nice number of tables and chairs, we had no problem finding a seat. It's nothing fancy inside, but it doesn't need to be - It was clean and comfortable. We grabbed a paper menu and were impressed with the variety of sandwiches! After a few minutes, we decided to order a couple sandwiches and split them. The woman who took our order was incredibly friendly, very warm and welcoming! She did a nice job making us feel welcome, like one of the regulars. Once our order was placed, we sat a just-cleaned table and had great conversation and about 15 minutes later, our lunch was brought to our table. For lunch, the first sandwich we ordered was the "01 - Fugetaboutit", a turkey 'sangwich' with sweet peppers, provolone cheese, red onion, lettuce, and chili mayo. The second sandwich was the "30 - Hideout", a panini 'sangwich' with eggplant, portabella mushrooms, onion, tomato, sweet peppers, provolone, and sundried tomato and basil mayo. The "Fugetaboutit" was packed with turkey and the roll it was served on was the perfect balance of chew and crust/crunch. The chili mayo added a nice light spice to it. The "Hideout" was toasted perfectly, a great crisp, crunch to the bread. A nice amount of eggplant and portabella mushrooms inside, and I really enjoyed the sundried tomato and basil mayo, not too much to overpower everything else in the 'sangwich'. I have a "healthy" appetite so I easily devoured half of both and walked away perfectly filled up. My friend boxed up half of their meal to have later but enjoyed the "Fugetaboutit"! For the price, I thought the portions were very appropriate, no complaints from me here! Joe's Panini Grill and Deli nailed the local, neighborhood-feeling lunch spot! My co workers and I ordered lunch from Joe's. It's not our first time and we normally enjoy it. This was a huge miss. The oddest thing about our entire experience was they called us back when it was ready... yes. Called my coworker and said hey your food is ready. They couldn't give a time for a dozen sandwiches, that should've been a red flag but we looked passed it...My sandwich was the flattest sandwich I've ever had. Two slices of roast beef and one pathetic slice of bacon and a few sweet peppers. I will say the bread tasted decent, though. Fries tasted old. They don't get that cold etc from a 2 mile drive. Nice to get that Marcos flavor without having to travel now out to Maple drive. But back to Joes. There are tons of options! No way you won't find something you want. We tried the God Father, the Bugsy and the adult grilled cheese with a side of fries. The house favorite was the adult grilled cheese. We even door dashed it and it still came pipping hot and the cheese pull was perfection! The other two sandwhiches were just as good. Not shy with the meats! Great price to value. The fries were crinkles, but could of been cooked more for my liking and definitely needed salt. But that's an easy fix. I'll definitely be back have more menu items to try. read more

Very casual place established in 2019 but has a feel of being there forever. Counter ordering, some simple seating, and Italian mafia inspiration. We arrived at 6:40 pm and ordered The Hideout Eggplant panini, The Godfather prime rib sangwich, the Underboss chicken BLT, and an antipasto. The owner was concerned our order would take over an hour to make. Sandwiches take a half hour to cook and he can only cook one at a time. So don't come here in a rush, unless you pre-order. At first, I felt the owner wasn't very hospitable...but after our order was submitted, he was chatty with us. I think his charm includes the disgruntled, but friendly vibe. Despite us sitting at a table, he delivered our food to go. Since he closes at 7:30, I think he may have been eager to close. We took advantage of the nice weather and found a picnic table to enjoy the food. The biggest hits were the Underboss and the antipasto. None of the kids liked the eggplant (but that was my favorite). The prime rib had mushrooms and spicy peppers. One of my fav sandwiches in the Buffalo area. Seeded roll comes out on point, thin and crispy. The deli meat is Boars head, the key to a delicious sub. Owner is very nice and will give you recommendations. Just order the fugetabout it and thank me later. Turkey, cheese, roasted red pepper and chili mayo. Even if you don't like mayo you'll want to eat this, amazing. I can eat more then a full sub so if you were thinking of getting a half, get the whole. Fries come out crispy, but a little dry. We love an old school Italian sandwich shop and the quality of this one is really above and beyond; they use boar's head meats (the best), fresh cheeses, scratch made soups and mayos, and gave fresh bread delivered daily. Everything is great here but last time I had the forgedaboutit turkey sandwich and it was so delicious Ill probably keep getting that. I've only had delivery from Joes, and over a 2 or so years, have had a couple different things. Always great! But, the thing that has now gotten me to be my "only" from now on was discovering they have Muffaletta! It's described on the menu as follows "A 10-inch round roll with turkey, ham, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato and onion, sweet and hot peppers with chili mayo." Calling this a roll is kind of misleading. It's like a cross between a soft pita and a sliced flat bread. Nothing else like it. And so delicious! The amount of meat is extremely generous. The pepper spread is perfect and the chili mayo taste tops off this amazing sandwich. It is so huge, it can be 4 meals for one person, or 2 meals for 2 people. I'd gone to places many times that had Muffaletta, though it's not easy to find! Some places have gone out of business. Some have it only as a special. Some have just removed it. So, whenever I see it, and see it served on that special "roll", I'm excited!!! The classic muffaletta should have an olive tampenade, but with that great pepper spread, the olives aren't missed. So I opted for the blue cheese burger with sundried tomato basil mayo. The burger was delicious and well priced--$5.99. The blue cheese made it taste rich and salty. Also the sundried tomatoes added a nice touch of color and flavor. I couldn't taste the basil, however, because the blue cheese was so overpowering. I'll definitely come again. I wish for Joe to have great success as he's a person devoted to his craft. I will be going frequently as it's one of my places for great sangwichs. It's owned and operated by Joe! All the other places I visit locally for a great sandwich come up short on taste and creativity and are run by kids or people with so many tattoos and piercings its worrisome about the hygiene of the establishment. I've been a restaurant owner and see where there are failings in health code. The places run by kids are the worst offenders as they don't concern themselves with food borne pathogens. We were walking around Niawanda Park and both got hungry, but didn't know the area quite well enough to know where to eat. So we looked for something that had sandwiches and Joe's came up. Neither of us had heard of it but we were in the mood to try something new, so we stopped by. Excellent decision! Joe's seems to be a one man operation, with the man behind the counter talking to guests and going in the back to make the food. He was very friendly and offers recommendations freely, and genuinely seems to care about what you're in the mood for which was great. My partner decided quite quickly that she wanted an italian panini and chose The Getaway while I was craving a chicken finger sub - Joe had two options, Franky Fingers if you wanted hot and I don't quite remember the name of the other one, but I went Franky Fingers, which had an incredible chili mayo on it. It was clear to me just from tasting both sandwiches that the man clearly knew his flavor combinations - both sandwiches were excellent. Pricing is great, and if you want to eat in there is an extremely relaxed, neighborhood vibe that suits the place perfectly. If I lived close I would be eating at this place incredibly often, but since I don't, I will have to keep it in my back pocket for when I'm near. I went in during an off peak hour and the place was completely empty, I didn't see another customer the entire time I was there, which worried me at first, but the food is delicious. Just the one guy working there and me. I ordered two sandwiches to go and he disappeared into the back reappearing once to tidy something behind the counter and then disappearing once more leaving me plenty of time to appreciate the decor. If I had one complaint it would be that the building has that Buffalo bar smell, which you may be familiar with if you've been to legendary Buffalo eateries like Danny's and Mister Dee's. DON'T GO HERE. weirdest experience picking up food from here. i ordered through grubhub for pickup because there's no option on their website to place an order. the owner told me in a very hostile manner to "NEVER do that again" because grubhub charges 20% and "next time i'm gonna make you pay the 20%". super aggressive and weird plus he wasn't wearing a mask which apparently is normal for him after reading other reviews. very dingy place and the food isn't even good plus didn't get the fries i ordered but was such a rude interaction i wasn't going to go back in there again to ask for them. after doing more research apparently he also told someone wearing a BLM mask to "take that off you're not a communist". extremely problematic owner this place shouldn't even be in business. read more

Love this place! It's not easily noticeable when you're driving but it's definitely worth the time to check out. The ambiance is pretty cozy. You feel as though you're in your families living room. The dim decor makes you really warm. Joe is an amazing guy. He is fun to talk to and actually gives you a bit of history about how he started. The clientele that come in all seem to know him (a lot of them are regulars so obviously this place has to be good if the same people keep coming back). Joe started out as a franchise of Marcos Italian deli, but given the extortionate franchise fees joe decided to start his own business and rename it. Basically, Joe's is a better done Marcos. The menu is almost the same...even the sandwich names are similar. For example, Marcos has a sandwich called "mama Mia" and Joe's is called "mama" lol. Same ingredients and everything! I slightly prefer Joe's because he actually makes sure your sandwich is nice and toasted before you get it. I almost always get the "mama" as that's probably my favorite kind of sandwich(turkey+ bacon). I highly recommend this place if you want quality subs.
