For lunch one day while visiting Buffalo, we decided to bring Ferras Lunch Hour back to our hotel. I got the Buffalo-style chicken w/ lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, and mayo. All around a great family and business!! I'm new to working downtown with that being said, I've had food from all of the local to downtown spots. FERA's by FAR is the best bang for your taste buds and buck!! All sorts of subs, salads and wraps customized to your liking. And if you visit enough like I do lol they know your name. It's really a comfortable and enjoyable experience when you come here. Everything I had was fresh and delicious. They also have bomb soups and chili and stuff. The tuna macaroni salad is to die for. Do I miss working downtown or do I just miss having lunch at Fera's Lunch Hour? Today I attended a seminar downtown and afterwards, decided to hit up an old haunt. I was so happy to find Fera's still in business. I got a turkey with bacon sub but it was a tough decision between that and my other favorites, a small taco salad and the chicken salad with cranberry and walnuts which I enjoy as a wrap. The place has been renovated a bit since my last visit and looking nice. Although, there is slightly less indoor seating. The menu is exactly the same, simple, no-frills, but full of plenty of options for a quick and satisfying lunch. The prices have increased only minimally since my days of frequenting this place and are still very affordable. read more

Like Subway but with a local, less chain store flair... And much better subs. The owner took my order and chatted with me a bit. Very pleasant and made me feel like a regular. The menu is basic but there is a good selection of hot and cold subs, wraps and salads. I had a roast beef sub and was very happy... Fresh roll, generous meat and cheese, and plenty of toppings... 8" sub and a can of soda for under $7 is a fantastic value. Kinda wish they had locations in Rochester but the owner said he's getting up there and is happy with what he has... A refreshing attitude. Did not take a pic but was lucky enough to get lunch today from here. I ordered the Italian sub and it was the perfect size for a lunch. The meat was freshly sliced and super thin just the way I like it and there was a lot of it. I added pickled onions and they added such a good flavor! Highly recommend!! read more

Affordable and quick. It didn't take long for my order to come out. You get a good amount of food for the price point. However, I would only recommend if you forgot your lunch or need something quickly. My review is about the tuna salad sandwich. Overall, the presentation is nice. But, the tuna salad was a little dry and lacked flavor. I've had tuna salad other places and this does not compare at all. Good price for food though. read more

Been going here for years! Basic sub / sandwich shop. I usually get the turkey club on a large seeded roll (for an extra $1). Subs are of good size for a lunch place. Occasionally, I get a soup and they're good but definitely not homemade! Service is quick. John, the owner, is friendly. Prices are VERY fair! Hours are limited, but for where they're located and the fact they're a lunch spot, it makes sense! Not pretentious at all, just good solid lunch food! read more

A locally owned sandwich shop. I went here on my birthday and the owner is very friendly and makes your experience very personal. His prices are really competitive and everything is fresh! I got a turkey sandwich. What's even better is they slice the meat you order at the time you order it. It's a breath of fresh air to find a sandwich shop that's fairly priced and so yummy! Great gem of a lunch spot if ever you're in the neighborhood (e.g. jury duty, catching an afternoon Bisons game, etc.). It's nestled between a parking ramp entrance and exit. Not much as far as signage outside at the moment, so it's easy to miss. But, if you do, you'd be missing out on some fine sammiches. I got the gabagool..er, capicola w/ oil, lettuce tomato, cheese. Fera's is a perfect lunch place. Hours are very limited though. It is quick and has your typical subs and salads. Very convenient and prices are extremely reasonable. If you are looking for more than subs, wraps and salads, then Fera's is not the place to go. I had a Caesar salad which was perfect for a quick lunch. I also had a steak sub which was okay, but not the best I have had. The steak was not extremely flavorful. I would definitely recommend the salads and cold subs, as I was not a huge fan of the hot subs. Aside from this, the customer service is great and the people are very friendly! read more

I went to Fera's today, after being away for some time. (Started going there in late '80's). Wow I am so glad it is still there & the food is still just the right amount for lunch & doesn't break the bank. So glad to see the owner still taking orders & being his pleasant, welcoming self. I can't say I understood the hype about this place. Yes, it's inexpensive - everything is around $5-6. But still - if price were the only criterion for restos, nobody would go anywhere but fast food joints. I ordered a chef salad - this was the first vegetarian chef salad I ever received in my life - if I was alone, I would have gone back and asked questions, but I was not, so I ate it with a smile. The salad was pretty plain for a chef salad - romaine, cubed cheese, croutons, and a couple of other unmemorable things. Everything was fresh and it did taste ok, but it really was kinda disappointing to be honest. Perhaps next time I'd order a sandwich here - they looked considerably better. read more

Fera's on Pearl has an extremely friendly staff that seems to know all of their many regular customers. With freshly sliced deli meat and slightly toasted bread, they have the best cold cut subs around. They have been doing their thing for many years and you can tell that not much has changed here in the past 30 or so years, but not much needs to. I am terrified of the food here. The taco salad (basically just nachos with some lettuce) is good and the burritos are good. If you can get past the look of what goes on in that kitchen. Meats here are scary because they're just sitting out. The Caesar salad is cubed chunks of chicken that tastes so stomach churning. It's basically the grossest place ever but people keep going there for convenience and price. They do have those delicious vinegary chips that come in the black bag with the robots on them that I can't find anywhere else. read more

What a gem! My fiance and I went here for lunch yesterday and had two amazing subs with chips and drinks. I got a turkey sub with the fixings, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo & oil, and my fiance loves their cappicola sub. Maybe it was because I was super in the mood for some cold-cuts and chips, but this was the best turkey sub I have had in a while! So fresh and just the perfect size. Also the prices here are incredible. With two subs, two drinks, & two chips, we spent exactly $15. The service was fast and very friendly. Feras is a downtown staple. Not the best atmosphere, but the subs are fresh, meat is sliced to order, they are quick and super friendly. When comparing to other Downtown lunch spots, it's a great way to break up the week. They usually have some great soups too. read more
