    Fish Fry

Had lunch at 1812 Tavern with coworkers... this is the former Armour in... it was a nice day so we enjoyed the big outdoor patio. Service was good. Lindsay took care of all of our needs.l and was very friendly. The lunch menu was somewhat limited, but I was glad to hear that they had a fish fry on Fridays. We started with the homemade chips with dill sauce. This was a good starter to share. Homemade chips were quite good. I had the beer battered fish fry which came with fries, tuna Mac salad and coleslaw. The fish was very good. A nice sized piece with plenty of flavor. The fries were good, but the other two sides were rather bland. The Mac salad could use more salt and the coleslaw didn't seem to have much of a dressing on it. I would definitely come back for the fish fry.

Got to enjoy eating on the out door patio, which was very spacious. Service was great. She was very friendly. The lunch menu was limited, but it was Friday and they offer a fish fry. The fish fry was delicious. They offer several varieties of fish, I went with the beer battered. It was battered and fried perfectly. Well seasoned. The sides were not good. Came with a pasta salad and cole slaw. But they were unseasoned and for me uneditable. The slaw appeared to just be slaw mix from the bag thrown on the plate. The pasta salad was so bland. But the fish was the star and it did shine. We started with their home made chips with a dill dipping sauce and that was excellent as well. The majority at the table got the fish fry, one did get the Greek salad which they enjoyed.

Second day open. Definitely working out some kinks. I'll just leave it at that. Was expecting it. Manager was very attentive and apologized and offered us a beer on the house. That was appreciated. Super clean, bright, fun atmosphere. 8 TV's and a huge bar. Food was amazing! Texas Brisket sandwich was fantastic as was the NY Steak sandwich. Highly recommend the tuna casserole with peas and carrots. Definitely will be back soon.

1812 Tavern is a wonderful place! When we arrived, we were told the wait would be about 25 minutes, but it ended up being closer to an hour. Normally, I don't mind waiting, but when it goes that far over the estimate, I felt it was worth mentioning. Once the younger host stepped away, I spoke to the man who looked like the owner or manager. I explained the situation, and he immediately made it right. He offered us drinks to make up for the wait -- I ordered my favorite, an Old Fashioned, and my wife got one as well. Not only were the drinks on the house, but we were also seated right away. The service after that was fantastic. Our food came out quickly, and everything was delicious. The breading on the chicken was excellent, and I especially loved the South Towns Chicken -- a Nashville-style dish with a nice kick and spicy coleslaw. Highly recommended! Despite the rocky start, the staff more than made up for it. The manager or owner handled everything with professionalism and kindness, and that level of service really stood out. I highly recommend 1812 Tavern -- it's a wonderful place with great food and even better people. I'm glad to see it doing so well and hope it continues to be a success for many years to come

The wings were dry with no sauce. Not sure how much it's changed in this location. I'll give them another chance though.

Nobody answers the phones to take orders. I won't eat at a place that is that rude to customers.

My favorite dish was the New England Chowder Style Fish Soup. It was so fresh and flavorful. The cod tasted so good with the potatoes, carrots, onions and parsley. All of our dishes were prepared by a very friendly lady who immigrated from the DR. Everything tasted incredible and we left feeling very satiated. Definitely can't wait to come back! Would recommend making reservations beforehand since there's only space for ~16 ppl.

It was creamy and well portioned even for two of us sharing. We then opted for the littleneck clams, which was served with chorizo. The broth/soup was perfect to dip some house rolls! We then ended with our favorite thing on the menu - the shrimp sliders, well seasoned and served with a side or chips For dessert we had the lovely, rich budino. A cup of coffee on the side hit the spot! What I truly love about this place is the transparency - the cook is right in front of you! You can see them working meticulously to put together our shrimp sliders or the octopus salad if that's your fancy I love how cozy it is yet bright and vibrant. Highly recommend this spot!

Our first visit was in January and we've been back 2 more times already. The main dining room is down stairs. The bar area upstairs seems very lively and inviting as well, and I've heard there's patio seating we want to try in the late spring. Service was excellent and very attentive. We loved everything we tried. You can do things traditional tapas style or you can go the appetizer and entree route. We had the calamari to start and some cocktails. For our entrees we each ordered the "feature" of the evening -- my fiance got the steak and I got the salmon. My fiance is pretty 50/50 on how good his steak experiences are in restaurants and he was very satisfied with the entree he had. My salmon cakes were SO good, everything tasted very fresh. The server also did a great job recommending a white wine to pair with my meal. We finished off with our dessert, I had the flourless chocolate torte and my fiance had (I can't recall exactly) a banana cream cheese churro I think? The desserts were amazing every time we've gone. We've had more chances to try other tapas items, the arancini is delicious as well. Also of note was that we had a good group dining experience here in February for a family members birthday. Overall if you haven't tried this spot make sure you do!

I throughly enjoyed the salad - crisp greens, perfect dressing and hot, crispy calamari. The tuna bowl followed - flavor was spot on, but the tuna itself was disappointing - tasted thawed and texture was meh. The biggest disappointment with Tapas was just the location itself being down in a dark basement - not my favorite environment. Would try again when the weather is nice and their patio is open. Server was very nice!

First of all let me say this place is decorated beautifully. It looks like something concocted from a sweet daydream of a book lover. There are all kind of books and stained glass details which are beautiful. It also happens to have some pretty tasty cocktails which is a plus. Their menu is not updated on any of their pages so I can't remember what I ordered. It was a cocktail that mixed crisp, dry white wine, some kind of spirit and club soda. It was refreshing, interesting and light yet had just enough flavor to make it unique. The service was good. There were 2 bartenders that night who were helpful, attentive and friendly. There are a few tables with umbrellas outdoors in the front. A bar and some tables on the first floor inside and a metal spiral staircase which has a few small tables on the 2nd floor. Def not a great place for groups. Try and come at an odd time to get a seat.
