I was here about a month ago. We were seated promptly, which was nice. The drinks were amazing! My boyfriend had bourbon and enjoyed it. I had the Bean There Buff'd That. It was a sponge candy espresso martini. It was delicious! It was my first time coming here this year and I was excited to get the pretzel sticks. When I came here twice last year, the pretzel sticks were actual big fat soft pretzel sticks that came with two kinds of sauces. They used to be the best I've ever had. We ordered those as an appetizer. Unfortunately, they're cut up pretzels. They were a bit sweet and crunchy. They definitely weren't the same as the ones I've received previously. When I asked, I was told they were the same but were just cut up. I had lobster bisque soup and wings. My boyfriend had a beef on weck that came with au jus and fries. This place had a fun vibe. We sat near the fire and had a nice view of the patio. The service wasn't the best. We had Regan and she didn't check on us enough. I found a hoodie in the bathroom and tried to find someone to give it to. She was near the bar talking to coworkers. It wasn't a terrible experience but I'm not in a rush to go back there.

Black Smoke is a bar and restaurant located in the Village of Hamburg. It was opened by the owners of First Line Brewery in Orchard Park. This establishment offers all sorts of cocktails but really specializes in bourbon, whiskey and craft cocktails. You can get your Old Fashioned or Manhattan smoked, which adds another level of complexity to your cocktail. They have two stories with tables and multiple bars. Two bars on the ground floor, one being a tiki hut, and one large bar on the rooftop. The view is great and drinks are flowing on the rooftop. One thing to note is that both First Line and Black Smoke play mostly country music. I'm not a huge fan of that genre, but I still love both bar/restaurants for their ambience and dedication to first responders, military and veterans. If you love bourbon, you'll love this place.

Went for boys night ! So much fun !

Had the best time! Loved the vibe! The staff got our sense of humor too. The owner had reserved a table just for us ! Highly recommend!

Had a couple of Landsharks and ordered the 14oz. Ribeye. Steak was cooked to perfection, as were the potatoes- crispy outside, tender inside. The broccoli was also perfectly steamed, no mushy vegetable here! However, the best part of my visit was Connor behind the bar. If you find yourself at B&B, make sure Connor is your favorite bartender for however long you're there. Great attitude, conversation, and keeping those glasses filled makes Conner #1.

A late review but a review all the same... I came for my inaugural meal for St. Patty's Day weekend. It was full of crowds and so loud inside, but the food was tasty & the staff were friendly. We were supposed to be a party of 10 with 6 that showed piecemeal over the course of almost 2 hours. I ordered the soup of the day - beer cheese!, loaded Reuben tots, fried pickles, and the pork belly. By the time I finished the soup, tots & pork belly, I couldn't eat the pickles, too, so they came home for a reprise on Saturday for lunch. The beer cheese soup was a bit on the salty side (which is saying a lot for me because I like my salt) but I remember the pretzel croutons were amazing. The Reuben tots could have used more cheese curd & in hindsight, I'd have asked for the spicy brown mustard on the side. I'd eat that pork belly every day (and have my coronary with a smile)... they were fatty, porky bites of heaven. The nearby parking situation is dicey, since the major lot nearby is undergoing construction, but I'd definitely return for brunch (I mean just LOOK at the menu!!!) and I'd happily enjoy a quieter patio setting.

We loved the ambiance here but thought the smashburgers left a bit to be desired. The Mac and cheese saved the meal, however, being one of the best macs I've ever had! The fireplace in the back is a great touch as well when you're waiting for a table!

Finally got here for brunch and everything was delicious. Loved the bottomless mimosas and my seasonal french toast was 10/10. Service was great as always and we were able to sit outside.

We had a gift certificate for here but would have wanted to try it anyway. It was pretty busy inside, but it was a Saturday night, so; expected. We got a seat at the bar and was waited on within a minute. We decided on two different smoked drinks. Both were really good versions of an old fashioned. Might be old fashioned, but they're making a comeback in a big way! The chicken was decently hot but not overly so. Crispy, tender and tasty. The smash burger had really good flavor but if you're looking for pink in your burger, this ain't your sammy! The place was super warm and toasty in the middle of winter, which I really enjoyed. First line is their beer on tap. They always have a few really good choices for beer.

    Do they also serve beer?

They do. I want to say it's not a huge selection but there is a limited wine and beer menu along with a full bar.

But tonight, tonight our first choice was closed and our second choice had an hour wait so we did a Yelp search not quite remembering that Ballyhoo was this location that I had passed over and over again. Walk in and you feel Buffalo... the waterfront dockside factory Buffalo and it's a great feeling. This ain't a wear your party dress to kind of bar but you just feel that you are going to enjoy yourself as you sit down at the bar or at the limited seating high tops or along the window side counter seats. An amazing awesome bartender who is playing a fantastic playlist of tunes you settle yourself into a place of comfort looking out at the perfectly framed General Mills plant that is busily filling Buffalo's breathable air with that comforting aroma of Cheerios! Young lady from behind the bar shares a menu and a check list of food ... sausage sandwiches ... soup ... and a few other items. Frankly you won't need more because the food is damn good ... the deep soul vitalization will start to work on you and you'll just want to stay. Get to chatting with the friendly bar keep ... always a good sign ... that music is good and your food arrives one steak and one chicken sausage sandwich both covered in yummy toppings ... chips on the side ... we indulged in LOTS OF PICKLES and based on the recommendation both ordered the black bean "chowder." Sausages were both delicious... the black bean concoction was one of those thick oh so good experiences and the pickles were special (There were lots and we brought them home.). Definitely a place to return to ... that superb barkeep makes apparently every cocktail ever created ... but a nostalgic Buffalo feel ... wondering who sat here through the years. They apparently are packed on Sabres home game nights but do what we did ... choose a slow moving weekday evening when you can watch the sunset formulate through the frame of Ballyhoos window ... watch your steps going home ...

This event is great! $45 gets you tastings (in your own glass given at entry ) of over 200 whiskies at various booths. It was jam packed but I never found waiting for a tasting to be an issue. Lafayette was my favorite location because it was spacious. But Adams Mark was convenient because of its parking lot; even though me and my crew never drive during this lol. There's over 75 different types of liquor. I love whiskey and I'm not committed to one type. So this is the perfect event for people like me. Also, some of the distilleries offer more than just whiskey. There's usually scotch, gin, moonshine, and if you're lucky absenth (just a drop or in a mixed drink). I appreciate the fact that there's plenty of water at these events. The only thing I wish was there were more food/snack options. I've been to many wine tastings in the same venues and there's always cheese, nuts, crackers, and the occasional dip. At the whiskey fest you only have the option of paid food items that are over priced; you'd think there would be more with so much high proof alcohol. I did appreciate the coffee and donuts at the last one, but they were only available at the beginning. By the time you needed it, when you were about an hr into tasting and nearly drunk, snacks were nowhere to be found. I love that the vendors are always nice and knowledgeable. They even offer classes if you want further knowledge on specific topics. I also like that most vendors sell their products, but are very professional about it. Meaning if you really like something you can buy it, but they are not pushing products on you where you feel uncomfortable and inclined to buy. At about $45 for unlimited tasting, I definitely suggest trying it if you enjoy your dark liquors. I also suggest catching an uber/lyft, or having a DD. Oh...and bring snacks

We went with the Uncle Papi, which can only be described as pizza and a fried chicken sandwich having a beautiful, messy love child. The chicken filet was impressively large, and the Sunday sauce? The fries were plentiful, and while I regret not testing one of their fun dipping sauces, the house-made blue cheese did not disappoint.
