Never Again! Server ignored us for the first 15 minutes we were there. And there was only one other customer. Server said yes, you can substitute a salad for fries, but, charged me for a salad. It was lunch, so we only had soda. They charged us for every refill and didn't say anything. For two of us our soda bill was almost $20. We should have had beer at those prices. Just when you think you've walked into a dive bar, you get surprised by a 5 star experience. I'm so sad I don't have a picture because it would be very different than the other pics on here. But, we were starving. They have scaled back on their menu bc of covid, so if you had something in mind, call first. BUT, the abbreviated menu was all we needed! We had the capris pizza. Please don't kill me, but I don't care for the Buffalo style thick, sweet sauce pizza (but don't get me wrong--I eat it). This was wood fired and maybe a combo of Neapolitan/New York? It was crispy but just thicker than Neapolitan. This was a white pizza with pesto. This tasted like everything but the cheese was made in house. The slight drizzle of balsamic was delicate but meaningful. All in all, this was not at all the pizza we expected when we walked into a bar called Whiskey Hill in Lilydale. It was some of the best pizza we've had. We will be back, but also when we just need a drink. Amazing nice crispy wings with many great flavs and nice thick ranch! This may have been a good place once upon a time. Now it sucks. $19 for taco salad that was 90% Romain lettuce. Totally sucked. Romain lettuce was used as a base to prop up a small amount of crappy meat. Can't say enough how sucky it was. I'll never go back. read more

5 Stars for the wonderful Halloween decor. Sadly no one under 21 is allowed to see it (or eat there.) No parties over 6 people allowed and no credit cards allowed. The food was also 5 Stars. Pot roast dinner and order of spicy chile wings. Delicious. However, very slow service and we could only be seated in the bar, although the dining room (with comfortable chairs) was only a few feet away. $17 for 10 chicken wings + $1 for extra bleu cheese? Is that the new normal? So, the negatives balanced out the positives and that is the reason for the 3 Stars. It used to be much better and hoping they can get back to that someday. This place meant a lot to me. I have been going here for over 15 years whenever we visit our family here in the area. We are from California so we come here only during the summer. I have been bringing my kids since there were little. Now that this place is 21 and over and cash only it is safe to say that it is a massive disappointment. I am truly sad about this. read more

We would go there about 2 to 3 times a month to order there wings because they were the best but the fact that I had a baby and can't bring her in is insulting. Ordered the Cowboy Jack burger off the specials menu, which was piled high with 4 onion rings, a fried egg, lettuce, tomato, sweet pepper relish and mayo, served with Buffalo tots, YUM!! Stop in on a busy Sunday and sat at the bar. First thing I noticed the employees were not that overly friendly. To start I ordered chicken wings extra crispy, when they came out they were actually not crispy at all. It was nice to see that the fish and seafood dinners are offered here on Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's so I ordered the fish fry. The fish was good but I didn't care for either side Mac and Cheese and the Cauliflower. Food was great and the menu has a good variety. I had the jack daniels burger and peanut butter pie. Both were great and a good size for the price. The pie is a frozen pie. Decent beer selection including a few craft beers. The wine list includes a local winery, Merritt. I'm always glad to see places carry local wine. read more

What a pleasant surprise. We were driving from Syracuse to Jamestown and the kids were getting hangry. The ambiance alone is worth the pit stop. The menu is extensive pub fare - not too many healthy options - but if you are looking for deep fried pickles, pot roast wraps, wings and burgers, this is a pretty great option. Lots of beer options to wash it all down. Also check out the pierogies, which my son loved. My only complaint was how slow the kitchen was. We kept ourselves occupied with "Eye Spy" and trips to the bathroom to check out the decor. read more

I talked my fiance into driving 15 minutes off the freeway to try Whiskey Hill Saloon for something different and I'm so glad we did! When we walked in, we had a choice to sit in the dining room, a covered patio area or the bar. We decided on the bar, as it had some cool decor and most patrons were in there. Had to follow the reviews and try the garbage wings - fried & chargrilled wings with spicy BBQ sauce - YUM! One of the best wings I've had. I ordered a sandwich that had brisket, pulled pork and ham with a BBQ sauce. That was also delicious! Don't bother if anyone in your party is under 21. They will refuse you service. Now if this was just a bar I'd totally understand. I mean of course you wouldn't serve anyone under 21. But this is a restaurant as well. I've never gone to a restaurant with a bar and seen families being turned away because someone in the party is under 21!! Which is exactly what happened to us when my family tried to go out for dinner with my 20-year-old daughter. We had dined there before Covid, when my daughter was a teenager and no one said a word, so not sure when this rule went into effect. The freakin friday fish fry is one of th best I ever had. Perfectly, lightly crisped batter around fresh caught haddock. I came back for the Saturday fish fry also (only 2 a week). The fried appetizers were all eh, including veggies, jalapeno cheese curds, jack daniels shrimp, onion ring twistys things, etc. The chard garbage wings were pretty good, giving it a 3/5. The honey mustard wings were 2/5. The service fukin ruled all the girls are friendly. I find myself here at the whiskey Hill saloon in a very festive atmosphere toasty warm near an old fashioned register. The ceiling in the bar is alight with tiny string lights. Christmas decorations abound throughout the restaurant. Annette was our server and she is very sweet. She was helpful, patient and very happy to serve us. We felt very welcome. The food was good with good portion size. I had a fish fry and my friend had chicken wings. There is off street parking. Rest room is very nice and clean. I will definitely be back. read more

Used to be a wonderful restaurant and bar but now seems more concerned on being a party bar. They have ok bar food now, but do not let any family in. I came in with my daughter and 15 year old granddaughter to eat, it is the only sit down restaurant in Cassadaga. Was told we could not eat there as grandchild was under 21. What was disturbing is they have a pretty decent sized dining area --separate from the bar area. But nope, wouldn't let us eat there if we don't buy booze. What a shame. I can understand no young kids up at a bar, but a 15 year old girl in a dining room? I know this is not a state law, it is their preference. I have nothing against bars, but if you are serving meals and have tables...anyway, I ate there prior to this incident. This place was a treat! My friends from the area rave about Whiskey Hill and are never disappointed. We sat at the bar and were greeted by the awesome bar tenders - they took excellent care of us while we were there and we enjoyed chatting with them. Their cocktail menu is certainly different - I had their blue lemonade, which apparently can knock you out if you aren't careful (yes, it tastes sweet). If you want shots, they have them too - ask the bartenders! Since we were starving, we started with the fried calamari, which they only offer on some occasions. We were very impressed with the delicious calamari and the home-made cocktail sauce, which had a little kick to it. For the wings, we shared a double order of the "garbage" flavored wings - HOLY MOLY this was delicious. The wings themselves came out nice and hot. The "garbage" flavor is essentially a mix of multiple wing sauces (wet rubs) and it comes out tasting like a tangy barbecue sauce. Those wings were addictive. My point? If you're in the area, you have to give Whiskey Hill Saloon a try, I promise it won't be disappointing! read more

Visited a few days before Christmas, arriving in earlier evening when it wasn't too busy. By the time we were done, the place was almost packed! Our family said it's always a wait on the weekends! Four of us shared the wing bucket. We had medium, BBQ, and garlic flavored. The wings were tasty, and definitely more than enough for all of us. We also had the fried banana peppers and onion rings. I have been to Whiskey Hill twice. The first time was a few years ago and the food was decent, no real complaints but nothing to really brag about. I went again yesterday and... my two stars could possibly be three but they lean two for this reason: the prices are nuts. A single order of wings for $11 or a double for $21 is ridiculous. Our whole order (single order of wings, single order of cheese sticks, 3 Busch Lights and 3 Bud Lights) came to $45... unreal. Don't get me wrong, the food was still decent. I just can't figure out why the prices are that high except that there could be some greed involved. Either way, it wasn't the worst meal (if you can call it that) I've had but it wasn't he best. Consider saving yourself some cash and just going to the grocery store down the street and buying all the above for $25. read more

I've driven by this place many many times over the years. I can recall it being other bars / restaurants over the years too. I never once stopped before as Cassadaga is normally somewhere I am driving through in the morning or on the way home after a long day at work. Never a place I drive by right around lunchtime until now. While doing some work at a local establishment my customer kept talking about lunch and suggested we all go to Whiskey Hill. When we arrived I was actually thrown off a little. It is a very nice place in "the middle of no where". It was a little confusing where you go to get a table or if we were supposed to pick out own?? We went to the bar and were promptly sat. The very friendly woman may have told us the specials?? I have no idea as I was too busy admiring the unique decor and really cool lights they have hanging from the ceiling throughout the restaurant. I ordered Jalapeño cheese curds as an appetizer then the Jack Daniels burger for my meal. We all split the Jalapeno's cheese curds which were great, but had no hint of Jalapeño to them at all. The burger was wonderful and cooked perfectly, the fries were bland and boring steak fries. By changing the fries or maybe adding a little bit of creole spice to those bland fries would have made my meal over the top. This will to deter me however, the food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great!!! I will be back!! read more

Had planned an evening with friends from Pennsylvania at an approximate 1/2 way meeting location from Buffalo. Our original intent was to have dinner at EBC at the Dunkirk/Fredonia location but it was unexpectedly "closed for employee training and cleaning". Asked a "local" (Taylor)walking by on the sidewalk for a recommendation (after Yelp reviews of nearby options did not seem terribly appealing). She nailed it when recommending The Whiskey Hill Saloon (ten minutes away in Cassadaga)! Large menu offering of good quality and personalized service. Excellent burgers, the wings with their "garbage" sauce rival the best wings in Buffalo, and the fried pirogies were good although the pirogies portions were on the smaller side. Very nice house salad. Very good house-made pies and cakes. Good selection of beer. Clearly a family operation and worth the 1 hour drive from the Buffalo area for future visits. Don't be put off by the exterior appearance, interior is western themed and nicely decorated. Parking is in a lot behind the building (accessed from side street at the signal). read more
