Full disclosure: I had two complete "rookie mistakes" during our meal that I've never done in my life. First, while reaching for a slice of pizza, I managed to send the entire rest of the pizza - pan, rack, and all - crashing onto the floor. Mortified is an understatement. Before I could even finish apologizing, Adam stepped in. He had a staff member clean it up in literally ten seconds, flashed a warm smile, and calmly said a new pizza would be right out. Zero frustration, zero annoyance--he handled it with complete grace and had a second, fresh pizza at our table in minutes. He made sure I didn't feel embarrassed for even a second. To make matters worse, five minutes after walking out the door, my phone rang. It was Adam, politely letting me know I'd left my credit card behind. When I walked back in feeling twice as foolish, he handed it over with a smile and a good laugh after I admitted it wasn't my banner day.
