A dear friend drove to Buffalo from NYC to volunteer at an event and after a long day volunteering, they were looking for a hearty meal and some good drink. Seeing as I'm a Yelp-er, they wanted me to find a spot I hadn't been to yet, even though I had eaten dinner already on my own. I had The Ridge West Seneca saved in my "Places to Try" collection so I said let's go. Overall, I cannot wait to go back and grab a meal here and try the food for myself! We arrive just before 8pm on a Saturday night to a large gravel parking lot that was pretty busy, but we still found a spot pretty easily. We walked in and the hostess was able to seat the two of us at a booth right away! Inside it was very spacious with plenty of TVs going, a bar on one side, music playing overhead. Indoor noise was elevated (it's a restaurant that has a bar, it's going to not be quiet haha) but the two of us could carry on a conversation fairly normally. Our waitress came over immediately to let us know she'd be a few minutes as there were a few other tables she was handling. Fine by us as that allowed my buddy ample time to look over the menu and figure out what he wanted. I saw the St. Patrick's Day-themed cocktail specials menu so I knew what I was ordering. Our waitress though - Absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly friendly, had great personality, and was really accommodating in splitting the check (I took care of all our drinks, my friend took care of his dinner). Our waitress did a great job checking in on us at the perfect time, we never felt pressured, rushed. I didn't order any food but my friend ordered their Steakhouse Strip off the "Large Plates" section of the menu, and boy oh boy, did that look amazing! The 12-ounce strip was cooked to a picture-perfect medium-rare with plenty of tobacco onions on top and around the plate, and served over a generous bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus, served with a small cup of their A1 aioli. After seeing that, I certainly want to come back and order food. My friend really enjoyed their meal, the plate was clean! As for me, I ordered two St. Patrick's Day -themed cocktails: "Sham Rocked Shake" and "Irish Good Bye". The "Sham Rocked Shake" was vanilla vodka, crème de menthe, cream, and chocolate syrup and curls - This was creamy, delicious, not overly minty. The "Irish Good Bye" was Three Chord bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice with a lime wedge - There was so much flavor in this cocktail, the lemon juice added a pleasant fruity 'punch'. Looking at the prices for these cocktails, I felt they were in-line with most other places and they were made well so no complaints from me. The Ridge West Seneca really surprised me! I've driven past it a few times and wondered how good it was. From our friendly waitress and service, the delicious cocktails, to the fantastic-looking food, I am impressed. Went here for Mothers Day brunch. There were 12 of us so we sat at a long hightop table in the bar area. Have been here several times before and this was the first time seated in the bar. The bar area is not as loud as the back room but still loud. Our server was attentive and there was too much food to take any pics. We started with coffee and cocktails followed with nachos and tots. I had coffee a mule some of the appetizers followed by the fried green tomato blt. There were also 2 different pizza's a burger, waffles, stuffed French toast, vegetable frittata, chicken and waffles, sou & salads and so much more. Most of the food was good, a few said it was just ok. If I come back I would definitely sit in the bar area or outside. The parking lot is very large so I've always been able to find a space. Stopped by on a Monday for happy hour with a group. It was quiet, which made it easy to talk and grab a table. Service at the bar was a little odd. Even with almost no crowd, getting a water somehow became more difficult than expected. The staff seemed busy bar backing and not super attentive, but it wasn't a huge issue. They offer half-price apps during happy hour, which is a solid deal. We ordered the pretzels and nachos - both were good, classic bar food that did the job. The space itself is probably the best part. Lots of windows, a good atmosphere, and plenty of parking. Haven't tried the burgers yet, but I'd come back to give them a shot. read more

We usually avoid going out for dinner on Valentine's Day but this year we took a chance. We were able to get a last minute reservation for The Ridge. We had a great experience! It was reservations only today. Not sure if it was due to staffing or intentional, but we appreciated it. On a day when they could have easily had the dining room full it wasn't. It wasn't too loud. Food came out quickly and was delicious. My husband had a Ridge IPA and I had a strawberry fizz. For dinner he enjoyed the buffalo stinger mac and cheese and my sausage and vodka sauce pasta was fantastic. I apologize but I do not remember our server's name but she was wonderful! Came here for a fundraiser in the beer hall part of the restaurant, and had a great experience! The cashiers were helpful by explaining how to use the beer wall. I've been wanting to stop here for quite some time and today was the day. Walking in I was surprised at how spacious and upscale the place felt. After I sat down within a few moments the incredibly friendly waitress had the drink order and food orders moving. The wings and weck was the choice of the day with the Viking sauce that I've read so much about. They were crispy and average in size. Viking sauce was a great balance of spicy and rich flavors. I wanted a side of that sauce to dip in... and with all my wing reviews I always comment on the bleu cheese... mild flavor with a healthy amount of smaller crumbles. It's a honorable mention in my yelp reviews. A piled high lunch sized roast beef was also included... a healthy amount of salt and weck on the bun and probably some best roast beef I've had in a while. It was so incredibly tender and the sandwich alone was filling. Fries were crispy and a good handful to go with the meal... The second time we were there, for our anniversary, the food was not that great, our waitress was not very on point- not rude, but not really caring either, and I ordered a cocktail (blue crush) that I swear was devoid of alcohol. $12 for 3 blueberries and ginger ale is what it tasted like to me. I drink rarely, so for $12 I expected at least a shot in there- which I definitely would have felt. Was pretty disappointed overall. Came for an event so I can only review the beer tap area. They have the pour your own set up where you pay by the ounce. As someone that likes trying different beers I love these. Came here before heading to Spinners. It was PACKED and I'm not sure if that is their normal Saturday crowd or if it was due to the Kentucky Derby being on. We were still able to be seated though; it's a pretty big place. I asked for a sweet alcoholic beverage and the waitress was thinking ... I asked if she had something with blue Caracao as most of those drinks are sweet. Unfortunately, it was very sour. It did have sour in it but I was thinking it would have a balance to it but it was just sour. So I personally wouldn't come for drinks .. better for someone who likes "real" drinks versus me who needs sugar to mask the flavor lol Everyone enjoyed their food and we all ordered very different items. We accidentally came here on a Saturday morning thinking they had brunch - it's only on Sundays! Lol. Our mistake. Anyways it was good, I got a pizza and Matt got a burger. I really wanted the breakfast pizza but I had to get the vodka pizza with sausage. It was pretty good. We had delicious - very strong - bloodies because it was brunch time. Not a first time visitor. Have been here before and loved it. Tonight's visit was just ok. Waitress was just so/so. Not too pleasant. Started with the pretzels for an app. I forgot to take a pic but they are delicious. But the cheese and honey mustard are amazing. Both sandwich entrees were just ok. I do highly recommend getting the chips with the homemade French onion dip. The chicken wings were very overcooked. I have had a variety of experiences at The Ridge over the past few years, but I'm basing this review on my most recent trip as I heard they've had some new management within the restaurant. I came with my book club, which was a group of seven. Despite the large group we didn't have an issue getting a table and were seated in the main dining room. The acoustics of the space it can sometimes make it very difficult to hear, but they also have options for outdoor seating in good weather. Our server was Irma, who did an excellent job and even accommodated what I assume was a very annoying request for separate checks. Food in the past has been hit or miss, but everyone enjoyed their meals this time around. One person even said the Cesar salad was the best they've ever had! After some lackluster experiences in the past I'm glad things have made a turn for the better. read more

I came here for a craft night and really enjoyed this spot! I had never been before, and I believe it is newer. They have a restaurant side and a brewery side. In the brewery they have a wall of taps where you can get a card and pour your own. They have a bunch of different options, I went with a Resurgence Sour Claus which was delicious. This wasn't our first visit, but haven't been here in a while. To be honest, the food or service never disappoints. We usually get table on the restaurant-side, overall it's a very nice place. We always get a friendly server, everything we ordered has been delicious, every time we've been here. My only dislike (took off one star, but certainly not enough to keep us away,) is that it's very loud. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, this is not the place for you. We shared The Rustler. Good thing as it is a very nice sized burger, topped with fried jalapeños, two thick slices of bacon, cheddar,BBQ sauce, tobacco onions and sriracha aioli. This delicious burger is served with a huge pile of fries( there are other side options, like chips or macaroni salad) and a dipping sauce. We picked sriracha dipping sauce. I've been here a few times now and everything is awesome- highly recommend stopping in here to try it. By far, the pizza is the best. Salad is a close 2nd in my opinion. The portions are humongous and you can definitely share! When I come back I need to try the nachos and loaded fries because those both look amazing. Also they serve fish every Friday now!! I'm not much of a beer drinker and they advertise that they have their own beer but the app they make you download seems like a big barrier to people drinking their stuff. You have to join a club just to try a beer so a bit annoying but good for those that would come often to drink. Staff have always been friendly and helpful and the inside is always clean. First time here and we had to try a lot to get an idea how the food and service is at this new place. First thing first, they are still working on their beer so they have a lot of local brews to choose from. We tried the soups, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 drinks. The soups were very good and full of flavor. Only disappointment was the beer soup - could have used a little more cheese. The arancini were awesome - creamy and full of flavor. The meatballs were good but a little bland. Which takes me to the jam burger - my husband loved the flavors on the burger, but the burger was bland. Not sure if it needed some seasoning or something else was missing. I had the beef on weck and it was delicious andk tender. Fries are another thing, you get to choose a sauce to dip them into - my husband chose the Ridge sauce and I had the chipotle mayo. Both were good, but I liked the Ridge sauce better. They had a few others, but can't remember what they were. Server was excellent and attended to our needs. One of the reason why I gave it a 4 stars was the bench I sat on had food on it, so I I had to wipe off my seat. Otherwise great experience at the new place. read more
