Burger

I have been here another time a couple of years ago. It's okay. I did enjoy my house salad that was listed as $7 but was charged for $9. Not a fan of up charges especially for a salad that was very small and had nothing but croutons as a garnish. Service good. Ambiance good. Just not digging this place.

Griffon has a really fun and diverse menu. This may be the kind of place that requires a group. I ordered the Bahn Mi Asian nachos and it was a mega huge portion. Holy cow was it great!!! There's so many cool things on the menu you can go here every day for 6 months and not have the a same me thing twice. The service is top shelf. I was seated quickly and served quickly by such a nice young lady. 101 pounds and claimed she ate an entire service of Bahn Mi nachos herself. That would be worth watching. The dining area is classic old but clean and inviting the bar is as well. You have to come here but bring your appetite and bring friends.

Calamari

I give this place a 2 because of the service. The food was good (the calamari didn't come with sauce and was quite greasy, but the peppers it came with heightened the experience). The Beef on Weck and the regular burger were delish. And here comes the issues: we had a reservation for 630p. They said it would take a couple minutes to clear tables. Ok. Then we overheard a couple with reservations for 645p come in, and they were sat immediately. We approached the hostess, who claimed she didn't hear us say we had a reservation. After that, we got our drinks and app promptly; but, our main foods didn't come for another 40 min. We almost left and told the staff to cancel our order...and wow, suddenly, our waitress appeared and said she said the ticket system held the order, but then came out like 5-10 minutes later. We ate the food, and it was delicious. It was overly salted though. She did comp our meals; however, their service definitely needs improving because this is the first place I almost walked out of. And it's rated 4 plus stars soooooo they should be on their game at all times especially for people who have reservations. Don't know if it was because we were openly gay or not, but, ummm, small town and such so who knows. I also think they're trying to do too much (being a gastropub and all) because they don't have the means to handle all that fusion.

Street corn dip

This is in a village with in street parking or public parking behind. I'd suggest a reservation which we had. The place is really nice inside, booths, tables, high tops, ample waiting area. When I first got there I opened the wrong door-for those who are dumb like me-it's the LEFT door. I went on a Saturday and was seated right away for my 5;30 reservation. I got a pistachio martini. There's a large beer and wine menu. Our server was great and offered honest reviews of what we ordered and we really appreciated that. I got the grilled cheese appetizer-cheese curds. I should have asked for ranch. The sauce they were served with was okay, very thick. No matter they light and crispy. I did feel the presentation was a little weird as if the basket had tipped over. I don't know if that was intentional and the way it's served, but it gave off very hipster vibes or if it really did accidentally fall over. My friends got the street corn dip and it was beautiful as far as bright nachos are concerned. They both got burgers and loved them. I opted for the Quaker salmon. It practically melted in my mouth. Great piece of fish. I'm not an expert in couscous-but I wish it had been hot. It seemed lumpy and cold. It had a nice flavor with cranberries and walnuts. I thought it was a hot dish so that let me down. It was sweet, with it being cold it tasted like cereal kind of. I ate it. I subbed the asparagus for mashed potties. Also my first few bites were cold. They could have been warmer. Overall, I was pleased with my dinner. I got the cookie butter banana cheesecake. Talk dirty to me some more! The topping was to die for. It had cookie pieces and some walnuts and I think brown sugar. You could've served me a bowl of the topping and I would've just eaten it with a spoon. The cheesecake had a really good banana flavor to it that didn't come off as fake or overpowering. You could definitely tell it was banana. I also got a piece of the chocolate ganache cake to take home and the person who ate it said it was a really good piece of chocolate cake and I also got the hazelnut crisp square and I don't know if that was supposed to be refrigerated or not, but it looked really small and almost melted by the time I got it back to Rochester, which to be fair is almost an hour and a half away. All three of us had never been to this place before and we all agreed that it was a really good restaurant and we would definitely give the restaurant another try because in the end we were happy with our food. I just wish mine had been warmer that would've tipped to my review to a 5. The service was impeccable. It was just a really enjoyable experience.

Takeout chicken tenders. These took 1st place for my fav hand battered tenders. Gold rush and honey chipotle sauce are fantastic.

Good spot for burgers. Love that they offer tasty gf options. Their dessert menu always is drool-worthy. Takeout is timely and can be done online.

the food itself was just pretty gooood. the nachos were slightly overwhelming and left just some to be desired potstickers were just alright, again, not quite what we'd hoped delish shirley though service was also a little slow slow, not my favorite

So not many places open on a Sunday in East Aurora. My husband decided to do a reservation. That was the best decision we made. The couple before us was told it would be an hour wait. Our waitress was awesome, very attentive as well as quite busy. She made sure everyone was taken care of but also was very welcoming and didn't make a busy restaurant seem too busy for the customer. That started a great meal even better. Unfortunately one set back was they sold their last Elk burger (specialty game burger) so we weren't able to try. They offered lamb, but we chose 2 different burgers - Jam burger and I just had a cheeseburger with Cheddar. Fries were awesome - sweet and regular. Burgers were huge and cooked to perfection. Drinks were great too. My hubby had an old fashioned and was able to choose his bourban. I had a white sangria. Both were so good. We will be back to see if we can get a game burger. Great ambiance, food and service.

Man griffin is so great. This location is really pretty interior too and a big place! Staff was super nice and friendly. I got their pb and j burger it was so so good and I upgraded the side to their gouda Mac and cheese and it was also amazing! They aren't giving the food away price wise but it's worth it for a nice meal. There's plenty of parking in the street of the large city lot behind the restaurant. Definitely worth visiting!

Had a cocktail at the Griffon Pub in East Aurora. Cool bar with darker lighting and great ambiance. We've been to the one on Transit, but I prefer this location. Drinks are reasonable priced, and they have an extensive beer selection.

And while we watch our cholesterol pretty closely, a birthday weekend is fine time for one of the best fish fries around. Wallenwein's opened promptly at 12:00 pm and we were first through the door and were seated in front of the gorgeous fireplace. The outdoor patio was so beautiful under the autumn sun, but the morning chill had not yet been burned off. So we opted for inside dining today. I've reviewed Wally's fish fry in the past, and I am going to review it again today. I love the massive beer-battered haddock that covers 1/2 of my plate. The scoops of coleslaw and tuna macaroni salad alongside a sizzling hot pile of crispy French fries is just perfection. All this comes with lemon wedges and tartar sauce and a slice of buttered rye bread. My high school sweetheart always orders a version of their broiled fish, and today it was lemon pepper. He skipped the French fries, and ordered his favorite German potato.salad. Well, that was fully satisfying, but it's just the start of the birthday weekend, so be on the lookout for more adventures in dining out!

She was so easy to communicate with, incredibly accommodating, and made handling all of the little party details feel effortless. The food was running a little behind schedule, but honestly? Once it hit the tables, it was hot and clearly worth the wait. Every single person loved it, and watching everyone clean their plates says more than I ever could! And then there were the owners' kids, who were just the sweetest. They were right there helping clear tables and sweep up, which was such a genuine reminder of what makes a local, family-owned business special. I would 100% host another party here. Great people, great food, and that unmistakable feeling that you're supporting a business that truly has a heart.

Not going to lie, it's nearly impossible to sit through a lacrosse game while smelling burgers from this place the entire time. We came by on a Sunday and took advantage of their kids' meal special: $5 including a drink, which is a really solid deal. We ordered burgers (split with my fellow burger lover) and chicken fingers for two of the kids, and the food definitely hit the spot after a long day when everyone was starving. The burgers were decent, though I would have loved slightly larger patties and a few more topping option. I'm all about an over-the-top handheld, so maybe that's just me. My only real disappointment was the fry portion size; I must have been spoiled on my first visit when my meal came with an overload of fries. One of my favorite features is the patio, especially during nicer weather. Service was good, and I appreciated the little outdoor station stocked with condiments and water, which was a thoughtful touch for patio diners. Overall, it's a convenient spot to grab a casual meal before or after games, especially if you're already at the rink.

A friend is a big fan of this The North Star, so I was glad to finally get a chance to pay a visit…read more I can see why she likes it so much. Food, service and atmosphere are all stellar. Our server, Amanda S., was wonderful. The place was jumping, but she was still able to take good care of us. Soup of the day was beef stroganoff - quite unusual, but my friend enjoyed it. The steak and spinach flatbread was pronounced "awesome". A good sized flatbread loaded with steak, spinach, mushrooms, bleu cheese and mozzarella. Without the meat, that would be right up my alley. The strangest thing on the menu is Nana's Breakfast: a concoction of Polish sausage, homemade noodles and scrambled eggs, served with a side of cute little potato pancakes. Companion who ordered it thoroughly enjoyed it. Two of us ordered pierogi. I miss my late mother-in-law's best pierogi ever, but these were pretty darn good. For the sake of critiquing, I ordered one each of sauerkraut, potato cheddar, and farmer's cheese. They're served with sauteed onions and sour cream topped with chives. Yum. My favorite? Can't decide. I would happily order all three again, and I can't wait until I get the chance to do so.
