French Onion Soup
Jaimie P.

The service was great and the seating was nice, your able to sit outside if you would like. Nice atmosphere inside. In my opinion the food lacked flavor. I ordered chicken wing dip, French onion soup and the steak sandwich. The chicken wing dip tasted like it was canned chicken ( I don't go to a restaurant to eat canned chicken). The soup tasted too sweet and not much flavor besides that. The sandwich was good but it was def missing something. It was just steak and cheese, no condiment or anything.

Sometimes the most seasoned yelpers even forget to take pics we're so hungry. Tis the season for family and reconnecting and that's exactly what we did at the Byrd house. We walked in to a well decorated and cozy space. We were greeted & seated quickly. Our hostess and waitresses were quick to get our drinks and food orders in to the kitchen which is always appreciated. I was told the hot pepper soup was amazing so I had to grab a cup ( the only thing I got a pic of sadly). The kid's chicken fingers were of good size and had a healthy amount of fries on the plate. The Cuban was a little on the skinny side but the misses said it was better than the one she recently had at a different establishment. I was a little heartbroken that they ran out of wings thanks to the bills game yesterday. Really had my heart set on them today but , I guess I'll have to come back. I opted for the burger with peppers and mushrooms. The roll was buttery and fresh, burger was cooked to perfection, the only thing I can say is the beef could benefit from a little more seasoning. But for a first time visit I was quite impressed. Great job Byrd House, even though you're a bit out of my way we will be back.

Fish tacos and Onion Rings

I was not that impressed with this place. I got the French onion soup to start, and that was by far the best part of my meal. It was super flavorful and there was a lot of cheese. The rest of the meal however took about an hour after the soup came. This part was confusing cause the restaurant was not that busy. When the food did come, it was cold as if it was sitting out for an hour. My friends eggs Benedict was over cooked as well. I did though loved the environment because it was all decked out with bills flags and decor.

Just had Byrd House host a last minute funeral luncheon. I can't tell you how accommodating Brendan was. The food was great, service was great - everyone was on point. Highly recommended for any function - They were super reasonably priced and closed the entire facility for us. Thank You Brendan and Nick - wonderful place.

Good little spot for a drink on the weekends. Staff is usually pretty friendly even on busy nights and there is typically a good crowd!

We love their fish fry's. One of the best in the area. And other food items on the menu are also very good.

The place was full and hopping when we walked in and our table was ready. We sat down and were immediately greeted by our friendly waitress for our drink orders. The menu is huge and everything sounds good; they also had a special drink menu and seasonal food specials. Making a choice was hard! When our food arrived, we all loved it! It looked good and tasted even better! YUM! Great service overall, would recommend, but know that it is very loud in there when it's full and hard to have a productive conversation.

Was really nice to find a place that was open and not disgruntled for serving during a storm. We got a pizza, the diesel burger and the shaved steak sandwich. Their pizza is always really good. I have got it here at least 10 times. They have pizza and bucket specials if you're coming with 4+ people. We got a barbecue drizzle on half of our pizza, not sure I would get that again. Sweet Pizza is just a little odd. But, personal preference. The burger was done perfectly. It was the diesel burger with bacon added. The steak sandwich was really good... no chewy bits, which you sometimes get when ordering a steak sandwich at other places. Can't go wrong with Buffalo Sports Garden, there's always something tasty on the menu that would appeal to a lot of different people. Their beer selection is also really good as well and they have plenty of parking, tons of bar seating and a lot of tables. There are also some pinball/dart boards in there.

I will say that I've had several and when there are that many sauces and flavors, some are bound to be better than others. However, the important thing is that they cook the wing properly to get a crispy exterior and meaty, juicy interior. No chewy, gummy skin, and the interior remains juicy. It's an art that most establishments, even in Western New York, are not able to achieve consistently but O'Neill's always nails. The Smitty sauce was good, as is the traditional Buffalo sauce. I was a bit underwhelmed when I had the Jamaican Jerk wings. It did not say on the menu that it was a dry rub, and it listed it as 2 pepper hot. If it was a sauce rather than a rub, I couldn't tell, it was not saucy, and it was not spicy/hot, at least not to my sense of heat. The overwhelming flavor profile I could discern was salt. But like I said, the wing was cooked perfectly so all was good in the end. I'll be back to try the Holy Ghost Pepper sauce and see if I can live up to that challenge.

We met up with some friends about 6pm, it was pretty busy, but it's usually like post work people at the bar enjoying and camaraderie. We sat in the covered patio area, after grabbing some menus from the bar. For those new to this, you order your food at the bar if you're not eating right at the bar. The folks here that work are super kind, and I see the same two every time I come in so it's pretty consistent. The four of us ordered some drinks, burgers and a specialty flavored basket of wings. It came out pretty quickly for how busy it was. We all demolished our food, and spent a good two hours there just chatting and catching up. I'm a creature of habit and got the black and blue burger with fries. I also got the cider. My boyfriend got the prohibition signature burger with tots, and the seasonal Pumpking beer. We got the chili garlic wings and those were solid. Drowned in sauce and crispy. Our friends got the Bern burger with tots and the prohibition signature turkey burger with onion rings. They got a beer and a Cabernet respectively. I really enjoyed my cider and they enjoyed their drinks. The burgers were on point as always, and I enjoy my fries with vinegar and ketchup. Onion rings and tots were nice and crispy without being greasy. No complaints at all here. Will be back soon.

It seemed like there was only one server handling the entire place, so we weren't checked on for refills and had to track her down just to get and pay our bill. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service could definitely use improvement.
