My husband and I came here with our baby. Our friends with their baby came as well. It was super crowded since it was a Friday night, but we were able to get a table. The first table was too small and cramped close to others, so they kindly moved us to a booth that was bigger and in a less crowded area, which we appreciated the accommodation. Our server was great and had a friendly and upbeat personality. He gave us all the time we needed to get settled and look at menus before ordering. I got the chicken quesadillas, and they were great. It's quite loud in the dining room when it's full. The boyfriend got chicken fingers and I got the Santa Fe chicken salad. I would have liked to see the chicken tossed in the bbq prior to plating instead of the drizzle that was on my actual salad. Stopped for lunch today with my cousin. As a much younger man this place was a crazy beer fueled place called Melanie's. I think I spent the whole year I was 18 there. Time has cleaned up the beer soaked floor although, the place looks remarkably the same. We were seated on the old dance floor and I half expected to hear some Bob Seager. The place is nicely decorated for Christmas. It took a couple of minutes to get a menu. I had the house blueberry beer which was tasty and cold. The server pointed us to a barrel of peanuts and a popcorn machine. You don't see that often anymore and I enjoyed the peanuts in the shell while trying not to get them everywhere. My mushroom burger could have used some more mushrooms or, at least don't cook them so they were unrecognizable. I like a rare burger. It's hard to get but this was better than most. The fries, which had an up charge, sat under a light too long and could have been hotter. I wouldn't grumble but, if I'm paying more, get it right. The fish hoagie looked good and was enjoyed. I enjoy stopping here for nostalgic reasons but something is missing to make it special. read more

First off, I've probably eaten here at least 25 times over the years as my office used to be right up the street. I have not been here in several years. My son had to have an MRI so I took him and my Younger daughter to the brew pub to grab a burger because that's what we agreed upon for our meal. I would've thought after all these years, they would've washed the rugs in the entranceway and wiped down the floors. There has always been a musty smell. I can only describe it as a combination of flat beer and urine. But the food was always very good regardless of what you ate so you tolerated it. We got there probably at 7:30 on a Friday. The place was packed, which was good to see. I ordered a burger, my daughter had a chicken finger sandwich and my son had a steak. My kids wanted mozzarella sticks, which were nondescript. Right out of the Freezer and into the microwave, and then into a small basket. There were no side plates. When they brought the dinners, I noticed that the plates have become incredibly small! I mean, if you don't watch when you put your burger down, you'll miss the plate. Our waitresses name was Cassidy and she was fantastic. If I ever go back there, it would just to be seated at one of her tables. My daughter really liked her chicken fingers, my son thought his steak was OK, but my burger was horrible. I could barely eat it. I let Cassidy know that it tasted like it was spoiled. She said she would let the manager know. Approximately 5 to 10 minutes later some guy came up to our table, and wanted me to "explain what happened". I said you served me a burger with spoiled meat. Since I know how to cook, I told him that it seems, that when they ground the meat it was left out too long or it was yesterday's grind. The hamburger had a horrible smell to it. He informed me that they buy premade patties and they don't grind their beef! Are you kidding me? How can you primarily be a Burger place, and not have your own recipe. I'm sure places like this exist in Buffalo, but where are they? Whenever you watch a cooking show on TV, you see these restaurants, that make everything from scratch. All their own sauces, they bake their own bread, and they use a special blend when they make hamburgers, and they brine all their own meat products. Etc. I told the manager that would explain the rancid smell and taste of the burger. It was probably frozen and thawed and left too long before they cooked it. He offered me 20% off, which is kind of silly. I mean I did take a couple bites of it and I ate some of the fries. And I said do whatever you wanna do, but I'm never coming back. The waitress was embarrassed when she brought the check and the manager did take 50% off. But I ain't coming back. There are tons of choices around this restaurant on Main and Transit Road. Burger King is right around the corner and make a much better hamburger. I used to enjoy the food here, but hearing that they don't make their own hamburger patties is absolutely disgraceful. We stopped by for lunch around 2pm and there were about 20 people in the place. We hadn't been here since before the pandemic. We placed our order. I went to the restroom to wash my hands, which appeared clean, and grabbed some free peanuts and popcorn. Much to my amazement, our food was already at our table. We thought, wow that was fast! I bit into my chicken sandwich and it was burnt on the outside as if it was cooked on a grill with way too much heat. My friend's steak was also burnt on the outside. It was blood red on the inside. It was supposed to be medium-well. The cook apparently rushed the food, yet there was hardly anyone in the place. We mentioned it to the waitress, but we didn't want to make a big deal so we just ate it. We received the bill and I paid with an old $50 gift card I had from many years ago. The waitress brought back the bill for us to pay the balance, which should have been covered in full by the gift card. She only took off $41. We waited 10 minutes for her to come back. I said, "You only took off $41 instead of $50". She said, You had an old gift card and Buffalo Brew Pub takes off $1 per year for lack of use as an inactivity fee. I said, "that's illegal in NY state. Merchants aren't allowed to deduct any money from a gift card because the card is equivalent to cash. I explained to her, in the past decade, I've bought over $2000.00 in gift cards per year and I've never had a gift card lose value. Think of it this way, If I had placed a $50 bill in my safe 10 years ago and took it out today, it would still be a $50 bill. It wouldn't be a $41 bill. Furthermore, 10 years ago, when I was nice enough to give your restaurant $50 and buy that gift card, I could have bought lunch for 4 people. Now you're telling me, my same $50 can't even buy lunch for 2 people because the card's only worth $41. I want to speak to the manager. " She said, "I'm sorry, he just left 5 minutes ago and he won't be back for an hour." I said, so you're telling me there's no one I can escalate this to and speak to about this. She said no. I said, "do you realize that if I invested that $50 ten years ago, it would probably be worth $100 today? So your restaurant made money on that $50. They didn't lose money." I left some cash on the table to pay the bill and left disgusted. I will never ever ever go to Buffalo Brew Pub again! And, I will post this on social media and tell everyone I come across about how are food was burnt and Buffalo Brew Pub ripped me off. We haven't been here since pre-Covid and decided to go for a weekend lunch. We were seated right away and got to pick out our booth! We had a great waitress named Lisa who was super attentive and gave us a great dining experience. The pretzel appetizer was so good, but sadly did limit our eating of the main foods. Damn carbs! Great burger, terrific Reuben, great service. We had to really restrain ourselves from getting their complimented peanuts and popcorn; you have no idea. You could tell that all the staff were genuinely trying to provide a nice experience and in recent times, that has been hard to find. Stopped in Buffalo to see to a friend on our way home to Schenectady. He suggested we meet here. The menu drove me crazy. I wanted to order about 10 different things but I decided I needed to go with the "Buffalo Traditions". They have a sampler that has 6 wings and beef on weck. I got that. The wings were so crispy. Perfectly cooked, but no flavor. My fault for not saying anything but we were in a rush to get home. The beef on weck was good and it came with a side of horseradish. Looking for a burger on a Friday night before heading to the movies, some family and I ended up coming to Buffalo Brew Pub and having a great time! I arrived around 5:30pm on a Friday to an absolutely PACKED parking lot, so I ended up parking across the street and walking over! Upon walking in, it was definitely bustling but I was able to find the table my family grabbed with ease. As soon as I sat down, our waitress Joelle came over and took my drink ordered and dropped off everyone else's (I was a bit behind everyone else getting here). She gave us the right amount of time to review the menu as we sipped on our drinks and caught up. She made sure to tell us the daily specials before we looked over the menu. She did a great job checking on us throughout our dining experience and made sure our drinks were never empty. All-in-all, Joelle was excellent! For dinner, I ordered the Bison Dip Burger adding bacon, cooked medium, with a side of their pub fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent with a little char taste on the end! I really liked their house-made chips on top, adding a crunchy texture, which paired so well with the creamy, savory Bison Dip, dolloped generously on top of the burger. The lettuce and tomato looked and tasted very fresh and the added slices of bacon added a little extra flavor, a solid addition I would totally get next time. The pub fries were dense and perfectly cooked and were a great way to finish off a tasty burger! As to the portions, they were perfect - I walked away full without being stuffed. As for the prices, compared to other nearby bars/restaurants, the prices were very much in-line with what you'd expect. We were going to grab burgers at another bar but I'm glad we wound up at Buffalo Brew Pub. A group of 4 us visited after the Buffalo Bills victory over the Steelers. We knew we would have to wait 45 min and that was fine. As a starter we chose the a Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip - I worked highly recommend this as an appetizer! I was not disappointed! Filled that up with a Beef on Weck w/steak fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was quite bland and would not recommend. The fries were just fries take 'em or leave 'em. The Beef on Weck was good but I was disappointed in the bun as it was as soggy and hard to pick up. Don't worry though I managed to eat it all! Went here for dinner tonight. This is one nice place inside with fireplaces and stone work everywhere. Seeing the beer vats where they make their house brews is very cool. We chose their amber ale and Buffalo lager, both tasting great with the ale having more of a bite to it, the lager has a nice light taste. They have complimentary popcorn and peanuts where you help yourself and scoop them into paper trays. Both tasted pretty good, especially the peanuts. Our server was a bit too fast in the ordering process. I felt really rushed. We ordered the small order of Wings ($18 for 10) and Beef on Weck ($15) and both came out in 20 minutes. The wings were nice and crispy and tasted really fresh, a good size too. The blue cheese was chunky but didn't have much flavor. In all my trips back to Buffalo, I've driven by BBP on numerous occasions and never stepped foot inside until my recent visit. What took me so long? We stopped by at the end of happy hour and it was a short wait for a table, so we stepped up to the bar for some beers. The beer menu is quite large, but I believe we all settled for their home brews. $13 for three beer? We all got another round of the same beers later, it was only a dollar or two more for all three...so quite a bit less than what I'm used to paying for a pint of beer. Nice! While waiting, we grabbed some popcorn and took a seat. The floor was covered with peanut shells, but I didn't see any peanuts around. Before we had a chance to get a few sips of beer in, we were notified a table was ready for us. We got some wings and burgers. The wings were good, as were the burgers. The burgers were HUGE...2/3 lb (I got the Bison Dip Burger). The menu had so many options, but a burger sounded like it'd hit the spot and they did. Food was solid. Beers were great. Went to the Buffalo Brew Pub for lunch to specifically as part of a personal quest to find the best French Onion Soup and Reuben in the region. We were seated right away and the server quickly came over to introduce herself. We needed a little time to look at the menu so our server went to get our water. When she returned we placed our order. It didn't take long for our soup to be served. To me the best French Onion Soup should be served with a topping of nicely browned and crusty cheese that is melted over the edge of the crock and dripping down the side. This wasn't served that way. I immediately asked the server to have the kitchen really brown the top. A little while later it was brought back out in worse shape than the first time. Not only was the cheese still not browned, it was submerged into the broth. After two attempts by the kitchen, I determined that they are not capable of properly preparing French Onion Soup. Both the soup and the Reuben were of average flavor and certainly not worth the money they charge. People say they have good beer and wings but I do not recommend having the French Onion Soup or the Reuben, you don't get what you pay for. I rounder up 3.5 stars to 4 because the server was friendly and did her job well. They also have a good selection of craft beer. The loss of the other 1.5 stars is purely for the kitchen's disregard for a simple customer request, which may be because of poor kitchen training, management and supervision. read more

Had lunch at the Brew Pub the other day. We started the meal with french onion soup and were a bit disappointed. The broth didn't have a lot of taste and the croutons were mushy. The two bowls were not consistent in size or 'look'. One was smothered in cheese hanging over the sides. The other wasnt even full. We actually sent it one back to have the cheese browned more but didnt come back much better. Luckily my sandwich was very good! I got a chicken fajita wrap. It was served warm with the wrap toasted a bit. The chicken was seasoned perfectly with the peppers and onions sauteed nicely. It can with crunchy crisp fries. One good, one bad, but service was good, therefore a 3 star. read more
