You have GOT to come here either when you're visiting Niagara Falls or just on the regular. Raph is the coolest and best smelling barista/owner in town! He is funny, engaging and makes bomb cocktails and mean mixes! Or if you're down for a fresh brew, he is the man who will hook you up!! Everything here at local IS local! They also got live music and it's just the one of the most fun places I've been for a little while. 5 star for the local!

Love Local! The owner Raph is not only the most engaging, friendly, and coolest barista who makes sure everyone is having a good time and enjoying themselves, he is also a man of great scent! Here at the Local, they got live music, comfy cozy ambiance and they even got bar stools to tables and chairs to sofa seatings. Everything here in local! From the craft beer to the art designs on the cans of the craft beers. I love this place and wishing it's back home in Toronto, but this means I'll be visiting Niagara more often! Cheers!

Such a cool vibe! Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area especially for beer and wine…read moretaste testing. The Black Lager, Nut Brown Ale, Tropical Situation, Altar Ego, and Extra Special Bitter were what we tried and they were excellent! Food is superb here too. We started with the Whipped Feta which we tend to get a lot when it's available at different dispensaries and this one was easily one of the best we had. My Buffalo Chicken Burger was so delicious, crispy, and the Gorgonzola cheese added a lot to it as well. My wife ordered the Tofu Tacos which she enjoyed and liked even more when she added pickles that I didn't want from my burger. Wasn't as messy as she thought it was gonna be too! Our fries were nice and crispy and very well seasoned as well. Staff was excellent and gave great recommendations and we had great conversation with him. I know the menu has changed a bit since we went, so we're dying to try the new menu and new beers! Again, highly recommend stopping here!

Silversmith was such a good choice for a brewery to visit in the Niagara wine region. I'd been…read morewanting to try poutine for quite a while, and though it was available when I lived near Detroit, I never trusted that I was close enough to Quebec for it to be good. I decided maybe Virgil was close enough to try it, and oh my goodness - I understood at once why poutine is so popular. If you also hail from a poutine-less area of the world, fear not - done well, it's a great dish. The beer was also excellent. I can see why The Black Lager is Canada's most award-winning Schwarzbier. There are some really good schwarzebiers in my city, and Silversmith's is right up there with them. I also have a Nut Brown Ale, and a small size of the Motueka, both of which I would get again. They know what they are doing with their food and drink. And the atmosphere is really good as well. The old-church-turned-brewery is beautiful. I'll let the pictures in other reviews do it justice. The service was good. It was relatively busy the night I was there, but the service was still quick enough and even a bit conversational - I recall one of the bartenders worked at Silversmith in the warmer months, and travels southeast Asia in the colder months, which is pretty cool. I would likely be a regular if I lived in the area.

Niagara Brewing Company - Beer Flights

Rating: 3.5 Stars I…read morestopped by here in a group of 3 on a late Saturday afternoon. Only two spots were filled and so we got our choice of where we wanted to sit. The bartender was the only person on the floor and she was very friendly. Her service was great and we enjoyed the pop punk collection she had playing the whole time we were dining in. We ordered some drinks and for food we shared a chicken club on sourdough and a Reuben. The food did take quite a long time to come out even though we were the only ones who ordered food at the time. The chicken itself was ok, a bit bland but had some good toppings and was well toasted. We had fries with this sandwich and it was very well fried and it came in a huge portion. The Reuben was ok, instead of the tangier russian dressing I'm used to this one was more straight mayo based so the flavors weren't what I was expecting. The marbled rye could have been buttered a little more when toasted as well. The amount of meat that it came with though was great and quite hefty. Both sandwiches also came with coleslaw and a pickle spear. The slaw was vinegar based and cut through the heaviness of the meat. I wish the pickle was more crispy though. All in all, a relaxed spot for lunch with good drink but ok food.

It was quiet and enjoyable. We ordered all 8 beers off the menu for the flight and some chips and guacamole which came out pretty quickly. The chips were warm and fresh and both the guacamole and the tomato salsa were good and flavorful. I thought I would have really enjoyed the peach radler and the cream ale, neither were as sweet as I thought they would be and not what I would consider a peach radler or a cream ale. I did really enjoy their premium lager and their red ale. I definitely enjoyed here more than the brewery itself, mainly cause the service was much better and the staff was friendly.

Counterpark Brewing located in the north end of Niagara Falls in an industrial plaza is a craft…read morebrewery and kitchen. The brewery itself produces many beers and the kitchen has a great selection of food items as well as daily specials. The space is kid and family friendly where it is fully accessible (stroller friendly!). There are board games you can play and a small kids corner if your children want to play with a huge connect four as well. In terms of parking, there are lots of spots throughout the parking lot. In the summer there is also a small patio to enjoy your beers and food. Menu wise, the variety of dishes include classics like a burger and poutine as well as pasta and a vegetarian banh mi. There is also a small kids menu as well. Drinks menu wise, there is a large list of beers to choose from as well as a small list of wines, ciders, and non-alcoholic options. I had a party of 5 (4 adults and 1 baby) dine at Counterpart Brewery recently. Staff were accommodating where there was a high seat available for the baby. The space is spacious although in some areas it may be harder to fit a stroller through, but either way the space is very kid and family friendly (we saw many kids and families during our time there!). Service was great and the staff were friendly. The menu is accessed through a QR code via your phone which is at the table. My party ordered the following: - Fried chicken sandwich (b&b pickles, pickled jalapenos, cabbage slaw, and sriracha mayo) - $17 - Porchetta sandwich (slow roasted Italian pork, salsa verde, crispy crackling, arugula) - $17 - House cut fries (old bay, malt vinegar aioli) - $10 - Peach Chardonnay cider from Niagara Cider Company - $10 - Grilled jerk chicken plate (grilled pineapple, house cut fries, red cabbage slaw, cilantro) - $27 I tried the fried chicken sandwich and the porchetta sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious! In terms of the fried chicken sandwich, the chicken (which was dark meat) was tender and juicy. The pickles and slaw complimented the chicken well where the sandwich didn't feel heavy. The overall sandwich wasn't spicy even though there were jalapenos and sriracha mayo. The porchetta sandwich was also great as well which was served on a ciabatta style bun. The pork was tasty and the salsa verde added so much flavour to the sandwich. The crispy crackling definitely added some textural contrast to each bite. Overall, a great place with delicious eats and friendly service! If you enjoy beer they have a great selection to choose from. The place is also very family friendly with lots of parking outside. A must try if you are in the Niagara Falls area!

The beer here is really solid--creative, unique, and well-brewed. My wife and I both got a flight and took a few cans home, including the Pizza Pils, which we're especially excited to try. Our flight standouts were: * Better Place * Broken Crown * Blender * March of the Pigs The food was a hit too, with plenty of vegetarian options. My wife got the Tofu Banh Mi and loved it--perfectly cooked tofu, great sauce, and a really fresh coleslaw. I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich, and it was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavour--loved the jalapeños and coleslaw combo. We also want to shout out the fries--nicely seasoned (tasted like Old Bay), and paired with a malt aioli that was super tasty. The house pickles were another small touch that stood out--fresh and tangy, and my wife was a big fan. Our friends enjoyed their meals too--the Jerk Chicken Tacos looked delicious, though they only come with two and are a bit small. The poutine also looked great! Overall, Counterpart is definitely worth visiting if you're into great beer and good eats. Can't wait to check out Counterpie, the pizzeria attached to the brewery, next time!

I paired that with a tasty pile of sweet potato waffle fries and a side of honey for dipping them in. The fries were a perfect blend of crispy outside and soft inside, just a touch of salt, and the honey is genius (it's an extra $1 and well worth it). Several other beers on the menu look tempting too, and they make their own pizza dough! Another plus: the owners are friendly awesome people. I am very likely to return. The inside seating area is larger than it looks like from the outside, with plenty of seating at the bar and at tables, plus an outdoor patio. Restrooms are clearly marked and easy to access. There are several large TVs showing various sports games - no closed captions though. Music is nice, there was an upbeat jazz background while I was there. It's on the louder side but not too loud to have conversations. If you don't get lucky with a parking spot out front, there is a decent sized free parking lot just down the street and around a corner. This is another win for the beer passport!

The place is huge with ample seating at both the bar and tables. Almost everyone was at the bar and we wanted to taste our beers in peace, so we went for a table. My wife and I each got a flight, so I got to try most of their offerings. My favorites were the Steampunk Cider and the Winter Ale. Both were packed with flavor! The bartender was friendly and checked on us a few times, even though he was swamped by those at the bar. We didn't opt for any food from the kitchen, but were glad to see there's the option to chow down while drinking. An added perk was that finding parking on a weeknight was super easy. We were able to practically park in front of it. I would definitely return. Cool little spot!
