I had a pleasant time at another brewery but I felt like it was time to move along. So I checked the Yelp and here I am. The big bonus here is that they are not in the touristy area and they have a free parking lot! Very comfortable and cool here on a hot day, the hostess found me a quiet table next to a power outlet. After visiting Niagara Falls on the US side, decided to get something to eat on the Canadian side. This place is a few miles from the border checkpoint and located in a quiet little town. They have a decent selection of beers. I'm not a beer connoisseur, so I thought my bar down lager was ok, but nothing really spectacular. My buddies got the porter and they said it wasn't that good. We started with the nachos and they were loaded with cheese on every chip or at least enough toppings that you can scoop a plain chip with toppings. I got the steak sandwich and it was very good with the steak jus. I think an aioli would have brought the sandwich to the next level. The sweet potato fries I got for an extra $3 were really tasty except it didn't come with a sauce. My partner got the chicken buffalo wrap and that was delicious. I ordered the Taps Original Burger with cheddar cheese with fries and my boyfriend got the Shaved Short Rib Steak Sandwich with Pork Poutine as his side. The burger was super greasy and lacked any flavor. My boyfriend said his steak sandwich was one of the worst he ever had. The gravy on his poutine had a really weird flavor to it. $85 USD later and we honestly threw away so much of it. Pretty good! Situated in a very deserted downtown (Queens downtown?) not far from Niagara Falls. Maybe it was a weekday but the streets were deserted. There was a car show earlier that day and they played "I'm in love with my car." I thought that song was a myth. By the time dinner was over everyone went home. Went here for dinner, this is a large place with a nice sized bar and huge dining room with big screen TV. The server was very friendly, telling us about the bands they have during the summer. The menu has a nice variety of items. We ordered the fish and chips and beef sandwich. The fish was crispy good, but they didn't give you much. The fries were tasty but a bit soggy. One kid got the kids' portion of chicken strips. For $10 CAD (the price of each kids' meal) it was 3 large homemade chicken strips, a lot of very good fries, and a soda. Another kid got the cheese pizza - not inspired, but looked fine and he loved it. The other kid got the hot dog and french fries - turned out to be a sizable hot dog on a grilled bun, which is way better than expected. I got a poutine side for a small upcharge, and it restored my faith in poutine. Crispy fries drizzled in tasty (maybe even real) gravy. Yummy cheese curds. Would recommend. My wife got the vegan vegetable wrap and we both liked it. The hummus wasn't exactly her favorite, but she has very specific tastes in hummus. We ended up posting up at the bar front as the general dining area/main stage was a bit dark for out liking. Beers weren't bad. Small selection of in house made brews and I enjoyed they offered half pints so i could try a few without getting sloshed. They do have a full bar and quite the number of daily drink specials as well in case none of the beer are calling you name. For food we ended up sharing an order of the roast beef poutine ~ sliced mushrooms, red onions, cheese curds, roast beef, gravy and served with a side of horseradish. I would've preferred the cheese curds melted a bit more but all in all it was great. After driving all day, this was a welcomed stop (we drove from the Boston area in Massachusetts). I remember the beers were delicious, although this far out from the visit I cannot recall exactly what I got. I did get a flight. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the crisp air, it was August so it was slightly brisk but enjoyable being out on the patio outside. I had the mushroom swiss melt with a side of poutine. I felt the burger was a little small, but I remember being quite satisfied and actually I didn't finish my meal, having taken leftover poutine home (I ended up eating this at 3 in the morning, partially due to insomnia but also because I'm a fatty).
