This was one of the highlights. But first- a warning! Be careful how you book a table here. I went through a link on their website and it carried me to a booking site that they no longer use. Tock perhaps? It's been a couple of weeks and I can't recall exactly. But it's better to call the restaurant directly and book through them. Because of this snafu beyond my control, and a late flight into Buffalo, we almost did not get to Dine at Weinkeller, which would have been a huge loss. Thankfully, the hostess was able to work something out and they got us in. We are so glad they did! Everything was so delicious! The Goats cheese was awesome and I can't stop thinking about the amazing Kona rubbed tenderloin! Was a bit hesitant when we first saw the restaurant as it's downstairs and dark, however there were a lot of positive reviews and one of our guests had a long list of food allergies. Much to our surprise the waitress was very upbeat and recommended everything on the menu which is often a bad sign. She was absolutely correct in that every dish we ordered was excellent, including the specialty cocktails! One of Boyfriend and I's favorite restaurants! This was our first visit since they re-did the menu and went with itemized pricing, instead of the "five items for $85" menu they used to have. Of course it is more expensive to eat here now, but still worth it! Delicious food, especially the appetizers. We were sorry to miss our favorite, Kaileigh, but Julie was great and very patient with our table (lots of loud talking and we took forever to choose what to have, lol). TO Bestie joined Boyfriend and I for dinner and really enjoyed her first visit! We shared the goat cheese and beef tartare apps... omg... go just for the apps! Absolutely perfect. She had the chicken and I had their new mushroom pasta as mains. Very good. Boyfriend had a Caesar salad and some steak - I think it was a striploin - he didn't care that much for the steak which was a bit tough. He would definitely stick with the filet mignon next time. Believe Jules! Niagara Falls was way more touristy than I expected-- lots of cheap souvenir stands and crowds of people. The Weinkeller is an exception that's a Niagara tradition for years. While we loved the intimate atmosphere and the attentive service, how do you describe the scrumptious Caesar salad totally without the huge Romaine spines that usually go along with most Caesar's? The blackened pork tenderloin was beautifully crusted and topped with an apple-vinegar reduction that left us asking for more. Definitely a 10/10, especially if you want more than fatty street fare. I was recommended to come here for dinner. So I made reservations for a Friday evening. It wasn't busy when we arrived, only a few seated tables. We were seated immediately and given menus . It's very intimate and dim in there, I could barely see the menu so I did end up using used my phone light. We chose to do the 5 courses for $95! I ordered a glass of wine, sushi, mussels and truffle fries, filet mignon, and more mussels and truffle fries. Why more mussels and fries you ask? Because they were so freaking good! Literally that was my favorite part of the entire night. The quality AND quantity were magnificent. My significant other ordered the oysters, fried goat cheese, tomahawk porkchop with apple butter sauce, and a chocolate dessert! He enjoyed his entire meal as well. I tried a little of each and he was 100% correct about the yummy flavors, especially the fried goat cheese! That was the best goat cheese I've ever tasted in my life! We came to Weinkiller for our anniversary... the day after the blizzard! They stayed open for us and we were the only table when we got there and the only table all night. The food was fantastic, the famous goat cheese appetizer does not disappoint! The special salad was amazing. It served "deconstructed" style, which looked beautiful, and our server, Kailey, made sure to mention that we should chop it and make sure to blend the flavors together. Incredible. Visiting Niagara Falls with friends from Germany, we were looking really for some good food and ambience. The Weinkeller had great ratings on Yelp, so we went. In short: We were very happy and impressed! The concept of choosing any 5 items is a little confusing in the beginning. However, we received some instructions and then it was easy! We started with a parsnip soup which was great. The fried goat cheese is a must as well. I had the Bone in Tomahawk Pork Chop with Maple Mustard as a main dish and it was delicious. Cooked just right and juicy. The local wines are very nice. The service rounded up the experience. Very friendly and informative. We enjoyed conversations about the interesting history of the Weinkeller. The Weinkeller definitely deserves to be recommended. We will certainly be back when we visit Niagara Falls again. read more

During our stay in Niagara Falls, my husband and I wanted to go for a nice dinner and decided on Weinkeller. Weinkeller is not cheap, however they have a pricing structure that offers excellent value: for a set price of $80 per person, you get one entree and four items, and the four items can be any combination of appetizers, desserts, or alcohol. I had never come across this before, but I think it is brilliant -- you can have a full meal (entree, appetizer, and dessert), plus a couple of drinks, and not have a nasty bill at the end. The one problem was, there was so much to choose from, it was hard to make a decision! For our appetizers, my husband and I shared the daily soup (a creamy parsnip) and mussels in a white wine sauce; for our entrees, my husband had grilled chicken and I had the cedar planked salmon; and unable to decide between the desserts, we shared a cheesecake and a semi-freddo (frozen chocolate mousse). I'm pretty sure we each had three drinks (I love my wine!), so I was fully expecting to be charged extra for the desserts, as we had exceeded our four items each (one appetizer and three drinks), but surprisingly we were not charged -- I'm not sure if it was a miscalculation on their part or if they knowingly gave us one extra item. Although the bill shows my husband's three drinks and only two of my wines, but I KNOW I had three drinks. At any rate, the food was delicious, and the bill was very reasonable for the amount and quality of food and drink. The service was excellent (we tipped well!), and the atmosphere was great -- we were seated outside on a nice, cozy patio with lovely lighting. If you want a nice dinner in the Niagara area, I highly recommend Weinkeller, but be sure to get reservations -- we were lucky to get a 5pm reservation! I will not be back here. I just wanted an appetizer but you must sit at the bar if you don't want the full 4 course meal. The prices here are CRAZY! The food was just okay, nothing spectacular. I ordered the oysters as an appetizer. I ordered oysters quite often at many restaurants. I was very unimpressed with these tiny oysters. They did not have any spectacular flavor either. If you want to add chicken to a salad that is a $16.00 up charge for a thigh. I didn't see anything to warrant these prices such as farm to table food or upscale liquor, etc.. the chicken thigh wasn't anything special with seasonings or spices, etc. however, it was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is delightful. The bar tender was friendly. Added note I did see in a different review that this is farm to table but nothing of that was mentioned by any staff, and there was nothing in the restaurant that indicated that. The menu pricing turned me off so much that I couldn't enjoy the experience at all. You're basically forced to buy more food than you might want. read more

A perfect Saturday evening dinner! From the wine to the service! The way this place has their menu set up is geared towards two things one you spending at least a certain amount of money fair enough with the setting and to you getting a bang for your buck. I know that combination might sound a tad odd, but I promise you everything I eat at this place was delicious and it was at least a three course meal perfection. I cook salmon pretty often, and I'd like to think the salmon that I make at home is delicious. This salmon was next level. The salmon came out on a cedar plank that smelled like fall. I have no other way of describing it other than smoked fall and deliciousness. My appetizer was fish on a chip that was out of this world and the cheese cake was delicious, I almost regretted sharing with the hubby. If we ever make our way back to Canada I will Be heading back this place! Oh and a round of applause for this restaurant putting out what most us think! Keep your bad a*** kids at home. For apps we had the red pepper soup and beef carpaccio. The soup was so silky smooth and I loved the tang of the goat cheese. The carpaccio was well balanced and the panzanella salad cut the richness of the dish. For other apps we had the oysters, mussels, and goat cheese. The oysters were fabulous! We love Tide and Vine! The mussels had the most delicious broth and the fries had a hint of truffle. The goat cheese was amazing! I wish it had some black pepper, spice, or acid. It was so rich, but so tasty! For mains: we had the special. The bacon wrapped filet was so tender and cooked perfectly. The veggies were also amazing along with the potatoes. My husband and I were so stuffed before the mains!!
