And honestly, there's an expectation that comes with it. If you're going to carry that banner, you have to be better than Buffalo Wild Wings. That's just the reality. Service: 1/5. This was a team effort in the worst way. A skinny bald gentleman who appeared to be a manager was dismissive from the start, walking away mid-sentence before we could even order, multiple times, always rushing off only to go stand at the host desk. And when he did bring our drinks, he literally slammed them down on the table. From the person who's supposed to be setting the standard for the staff --seriously? We sat for 15 minutes without anyone taking our order, meanwhile, a table seated after us got their food before we'd even ordered. When we finally flagged down a server with long blonde hair and mentioned the wait, her response was "who gave you your drinks?" - deflection instead of an apology. We also tried waving down a server with dreadlocks, who acted like he didn't hear us and walked away. To be fair, there was one other bald staff member who was genuinely kind and helpful - he was the lone bright spot, and the difference between him and everyone else was night and day. Food: 3.5/5. But there was water leaking from the vents onto the carpet the entire time we were there - that's a maintenance issue, not a vibe. Bottom line: the food holds up, the service doesn't. If you want Anchor Bar wings near the Falls, do takeout -- skip the dine-in experience entirely. Will we come back? No. Would we recommend dining in? No. To management: scroll through these reviews and you'll see service complaints going back a year or more, same issues, same patterns, still unresolved. I've heard about Anchor bar many times over the years and though the pics I've seen of their Buffalo Wings never looked appetizing to me, I stopped in here one evening because it was a quick walk from my hotel and it was pouring rain. When I got there they were moderately busy, but there were many seats available at the bar, where I sat. It took a while before the bartender came to greet me and it was a quick touch & go when she did. Service was extremely lackluster the entire visit as she stayed at the other end of the bar the entire time, either handling service bar or patrons on that end... Made me wish I would have sat down there instead. But I had to wait for basic stuff, like a fork after being served my food. The food was decent. I tried their Beef on Weck and Wing combo - It looked nice then it came out, but it didn't come with much horseradish and I wanted to ask for more, but I'd still be waiting, so I dealt with what I got. The sandwich itself was great! Beef was tender and flavorful, the bun was great too - except I don't understand why they made them with the outside being so greasy, that's nasty. The wings had decent flavor, I ordered them with their spicy BBQ sauce on them, which wasn't spicy at all. They had a nice crisp to them too, but they were small and not very meaty, so 5 went down quickly. The fries were plain and basic, nothing special. Really glad we stopped in here. Always wanted to try the original while in Buffalo but haven't had the chance. Finally got to an Anchor bar though. Sat at the bar and got great service from the bartender and the manager also stopped by to see how the meal was. Got the Buffalo dip for appetizer and would def get it again. Came here to of course try the world's first famous creation of Buffalo Wings! When we got there, it was packed, and we waited in line for over an hour. My husband and I were very disappointed by our recent experience at Anchor Bar in Niagara Falls. We had visited before and always enjoyed coming here, which makes this even more upsetting. When we arrived with my husband's service animal, a staff member immediately told us that dogs were not allowed. We calmly explained that it was a service animal assisting my husband with his disability, and the employee rolled her eyes and walked away without apology or further explanation.
