Good food that was served fast. There on a regular night and during a Bills game and enjoyed both times.

I am writing this review because I believe this is a quality restaraunt and hopefully it will help management to improve. We have eaten here a few times. Chicken Adriana is our favorite. on Friday we decided to try their fish fry. I had mine panko breaded. Thumbs down. It had as much breading on it as their was fish. I sort of ate around the excess breading but the fish did not seem fresh. It was kind of rubbery. The Cole slaw was pleasantly interesting, it kinda had a vinegary taste. My friend had her fish baked. She like it but did not like her Cole slaw. She let me have it and found hers to be hot and spicy. No wonder she didn't like it. Inconsistent . Probably won't be back for a while. Definitely not for the fish fry. read more

HOLY HELL, this food was amazing this is the first time I've eaten so much I actually made myself sick haha. I went with the Elvis burger fried bananas and jalapenos, bacon and peanut butter was soooooo good. sweet, spicy and savory I wanted a nap. the others in our group went with the angry bull burger and the peaches and Brie burger so I split them into 3rds and tried all 3. the Peaches and Brie one was KILLER, I tried it myself at home out of curiosity, it's perfect. Our waitress was on top of it with food, drinks, making sure we were doing great. I'd recommend the pita chip buffalo dip appetizer and pickle flat bread. I am unsure of who is rating this place well... the only good part was the friendly waitress. The food was what I'd expect from a pizza place. Let's start with the "pub pretzels" and which are 100% the frozen ones you find at Tops. They are not unique and I've had better from Auntie Anne's and countless other pubs/restaurants. They completely overcooked my friend's burger. I ordered the honey garlic parm chicken sandwich, it's insane that the ingredients/flavors were perfect but the chicken was rubbery and again something you'd expect from a pizza place, pre-cooked and hard outer skin, also the roll is chewy, they basically nuked it... if they had real chicken, and toasted the roll, that sandwich would be the best in WNY. Heavy burgers, very filling. None of our group were able to finish their whole meal at the table. We had a vegetarian join us and they felt the bean burger was very well made and delicious! We went during the week so it wasn't crowded at all, the ambiance was calm and relaxed, no blaring music so you could have a conversation. The waitress was very kind and helped me choose between two options. The food came out very quickly. It was delicious! Our first time trying this restaurant. They were steady, however definitely not crazy busy when we came in to eat. Our waitress definitely fell into the "space cadet" realm, as she was not attentive to our table and she kept forgetting items that we had ordered. This even after she had taken note of the items...even writing them down on a pad of paper right in front of us??!! Not sure how that's possible??!! You wrote the SIMPLE items down on paper....for goodness sake! Honestly, that part was the most impressive part of our evening by far. Complete - wow! I think what was even more upsetting to handle, was the fact that after all of these mistakes our waitress kept making, and the back-and-forth misinformation about what food was available, and what food was not available on the menu.... I would've thought she would've been more apologetic or compensatory. Her demeanor was more of a flat affect. I think that was most likely attributed to the fact that she was very young and apparently not an experienced waitress. In fact, all of the waitresses that we saw while we were at this establishment seemed to be high school aged. We ordered burgers, they were average. They were decent, but definitely not worth the price. I believe we paid $20 per burger.... and they didn't even come with a side! We paid three or four dollars extra for our sides. So after that, you figure you're paying....$23, 24, $25 for a burger! The burgers had unique ingredients, however, at the end of the day it is just a hamburger. The other thing that was very frustrating was that apparently the restaurant was out of so many items on the menu. Some of those items were needed to make parts of burgers even, which they were selling as well. When I asked the waitress if they ran out earlier today, she advised me they've been out since at least the day before. At least the day before?? Really? Not quite sure how as an owner of a dining establishment when you know it's going to be a very busy weekend because of a festival going on in the neighborhood why you would not order additional food to make sure you did not run out if patrons are coming in. When everything was said and done 2 burgers, an appetizer, and two drinks was $90. Take that...how you may. Just our opinion, there are way too many other fantastic "mom and pop" restaurants in the Upstate/Western New York area that deliver consistent, excellent service and outstanding culinary delights. I am pretty confident we would not bother spending our time nor money at this restaurant in the future. Mediocre at best. Negative overall first experience. Overall, would not recommend this establishment. We will not be back. read more

What a great little place in the heart of Lewiston. Driven past this place dozens of times and have always said, "let try it sometime", well Valentine's Day was sometime! Upon entering you go into the bar area with some seating and adjacent to that is the main dining area with what looked like a stage for possibly live music, but I don't know if that's something they do here or not. Out waitress was a young girl who was super friendly and helpful, very personable. We started with the pepper dip which was hot and delicious, the homemade chips that came with it were very good. I was a little skeptical to order the Hot Tempered Elvis burger given the array of toppings but they came together very nicely. My wife had the Dill Pickle Flatbread that she thoroughly enjoyed. They had a full bar, including about a dozen different beers on tap and several other cans. Their cocktail menu was also good sized and the espresso martini that my wife had was perfect. We will definitely be back again, maybe this summer even. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for a while now but never had the chance to check it out. After a lovely hike at Devils Hole, my friends and I opted to come here for dinner. We sat outside which was nice! I ordered the honey garlic parm chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. Would've loved more of a honey flavor but it was still good. The place is cute & has a cozy feel. Greeted right away when we walked in. The waitress was very sweet & gave the perfect amount of attention. My son had a burger that was a large homemade looking burger & said tasted good. I had a pasta special. It was served luke warm at best with way too much sauce for my liking & it didn't come with a salad or veggie or even a piece of bread. The serving size was ok. For the price I expected a bit more. We went here prior to a concert at ArtPark. We had reservations and were seated quickly in a back room. At first, the room seemed lovely, but there was one table that was so loud, their voices were echoing off the walls, plus the loud music made it difficult to hear our server or our family. We asked if we could be moved and were first told no. We asked again and were allowed to be seated in the bar area.. which was far away from the one table. However, every time someone came into the restaurant the door would slam shut. It was annoying to hear every few minutes. The food was good.. nothing extravagant. The host and our server were great. She was running from one room to the next and then outside to the patio. I would like to try them again on a different day when it's not so busy and when they might not be so short staffed. read more

This was an outstanding place for lunch while spending time at the Lewiston Peach Festival. It is clearly one of these places that fall in the category of fun. After many hours at the festival, we walked across the street to this charming shop. (bar / tavern) We were with three other people and the hi-top table easily accommodated us all. We really came here just to relax so I knew it was going to be wings and beer. Along the way we had pretzels and pizza. Everything was just fantastic and plentiful. The wings were served exactly how we love them. A great medium hot sauce, tasty blue cheese dressing and crispy wings... Just yum. We loved the pizza (extremely tasty sauce and cheese) and the pretzels were also terrific. There were five of us and enough food for 10. No problem with portion size here. It was fun the the people we were with had their two sons there. Made for a nice picture. I am so glad that we came here and looking forward to coming back one day and trying one of their famous burgers. read more

The service was lacking to say the least. We sate for 45 minutes before the drinks from the bar were brought over. We were there for 1 hour before we asked for water to be brought to the table and were told they didn't have any more pitchers or glasses for water. Was able to hold a conversation and not too loud with the other guests dinning. The server was very overwhelmed and trying her best but couldn't do it all. The food was great when it came out. She forgot one of our appetizers and some of the bar drinks were not made well. I don't write very many reviews. So I am not an "Elite" reviewer. Something has to be well above or well below par before I ever take the time to write a review. In this case, the experience here was so bad it prompted me to write this. I would never recommend this establishment to any others. In fact, I would warn them against going here. We wanted to take my brother-in-law out for his birthday and asked him to choose any restaurant of his choice. Since he had a craving for a rib eye dinner he thought a place named "The Cask & Cow" would have something to his liking. Unfortunately, this was not the case. My brother-in-law ordered the K. C. Ribeye and requested "basic" mashed potatoes as a side. Unbelievably, they only offered sweet mashed potatoes or french fries for a choice. I would think his "regular mashed potatoes" request would be a staple for any decent restaurant. So, right from the beginning, it didn't seem to start out well. I ordered the salmon entree which included basmati rice, zucchini and squash. My wife ordered a pasta dish entree. When our food arrived, I looked at the plain clump of rice on my plate and tried a forkful. It tasted like flavorless Uncle Ben's rice. I was kind of surprised that there was no spice or flavoring to the rice because it didn't seem to pair well with the entree, being bland as it was. When the server came back around I questioned her about it, asking if it was normal, was something forgotten, does the chef just serve tasteless rice with this? I didn't get much of a response other than sorry. I usually wouldn't question it but it was so tasteless that I wanted to ask because it seemed unusual to serve something so tasteless. It was like something I gave to my dog when he was sick. Plain white rice. Maybe if you had a curry dish or some other sauce but this was very uncreative on the chef's part. Ok, he's now demoted to a cook, next he can move up to a dishwasher. Then, I tried the zucchini and squash. OMG, it was so peppered, it just about ruined my taste buds for everything else. So, over-spiced zucchini and squash and flavorless rice. Not a good start. The salmon was ok but the other parts of the meal diminished any favorable thoughts I had about the salmon. I didn't dwell on this because we wanted our brother-in-law to enjoy the experience that we were expecting him to have for his birthday. I kept it to myself but in the back of my mind, I regretted what I ordered. Ok, above and beyond all that, this is why I am writing this review...... We asked my brother-in-law how he liked his rib eye steak and he said it was tasteless and not close to anything he's had before that was decent. That was early in to the meal. About halfway through, he spit out a piece of gristle from his dinner. Then towards the end of his dinner we all heard a loud "Crunch". He had bitten down on a bone in the rib eye. It was so loud I asked him if he chipped his tooth. He double checked and said he didn't but this totally ruined the experience for all of us. We didn't make a scene or hoopla about this but we did tell the server about this when she returned. Her response was a weak "Sorry to hear that". We are not complainers but my wife (who usually says nothing) asked her to please tell the "chef" about this. The server, Katie, said she would tell him but no one ever came out. No manager, no chef, no one. So is this supposed to be acceptable and "Sorry about that" is what you get. We paid the full bill and yes, I still left a tip for Katie. But we all decided that we would never return here and obviously, would never recommend this restaurant to any other of our friends or family. In fact, we would go out of our way to dissuade them from ever going there. Especially, when there are so many other restaurant choices in the area. read more

My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch at Cask & Cow. My husband and I shared sweet potato fries, I ordered a kale & apple salad, and he got the Mo Town Philly Burger. He finished up his Mel with a Key Lime Cheesecake. Both of us were very happy with our meals. Top recommended items we got would be the truffle Fries. WOAH. They were very tasty. Atmosphere was average - tvs were blue so not sure what that is about. Our server was good but not the most friendly. So that's why we decided to go with a 4/5. I have been to Cask & Cow two times and have enjoyed each visit. This past visit, I ordered the Honey Garlic Chicken Parm Sandwich for the second time. It is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. The honey, garlic and parmesan goes together perfectly. Also the roll it comes on and the homemade chips were very good. My friends ordered burgers and they all said they were impressed with their meals. They also had a long list of beer and other mixed drinks to choose from. Read about this place for awhile and finally had the opportunity to try it out. Was lured in by their solid beer menu and was not disappointed. Great selection of rotating taps to please even the most discriminating beer snob. Then the burger, it's a WOW Perfectly cooked juicy meat, with my favorite toppings of cheese, crispy bacon and the good old fried egg. The bun was a bianco roll which was perfect, soft and flavorful soaked up the juice nicely. House made chips are a satisfying side for this wonderful burger. Yes, you read that correctly. To top it off they used a banana and peanut butter sauce. Interestingly, the banana, peanut butter and jalapeños work well together. I asked for medium well. Bang, they hit a home run. Regrettably, I didn't care for the homemade chips. They tasted good but needed some sort of seasoning. My wife had the nacho salad. Their brisket is perfect. We were in Lewiston to catch a show at Artpark but we needed to grab some dinner first. We chose Cask and Cow based on reviews and the delicious sounding menu. We were not disappointed. Upon arriving we noticed that there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, always a plus. We were then greeted by a staff member who seated us promptly and got our orders in. We were pleased to see that they have a nice big menu, lots of cocktails and specials. I started with a Paloma because, why not? It was delicious and not too sweet, a perfect summer drink. For our meals we figured we had to try their burgers because there were so many and the combos all sounded outstanding. First of all the burgers on their own were delicious! Perfectly cooked and seasoned and the right amount of generous toppings. My significant other picked the hot tempered Elvis which he said had such a good combo of cheddar, caramelized banana, bacon, jalapeños and peanut butter! He said the salty and sweet with a little kick of jalapeño was unique and perfect. He added that even the roll was delicious and way above average. I tried La mucca and it was wonderful. The mozzarella, prosciutto, roasted red pepper and arugula were the perfect light Italian inspired toppings for this yummy burger. It was nice that they can accommodate vegetarians and gluten free diets with menu substitutions. They also had sweet potato fries so it was an all around win. Great service and decent prices rounded out a great dinner. When we come back to Lewiston we will absolutely go back. read more

People vaping all over when you are trying to eat... dogs hanging out inside where people are eating food, sorry but that is gross to me. On the weekend it's full of underaged NU girls wasted at brunch. We walked in here on a Saturday night and were surprised there was hardly anyone eating in the place. It's huge with a large bar and another large dining area. The servers were nice to us and took our drink order quickly. We went with draft beer and they brought it out quickly. The menu is mostly burgers and sandwiches, priced fairly high (a burger and a side with an upgrade above the potato chips is $17). They also quickly took our order and we chose two specialty burgers, one with asparagus and the order with brisket. Our sides were sweet potato fries and onion rings. All items came out fantastic. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Everything I've ever had is so good. The food is impressive. Everything tastes clean and fresh. We always come back for the pretzels with the beer cheese. Their beer cheese is the best. My hubby had the roast beef sandwich and said it was better than Charlie the Butcher. As you can see in my pictures, the food is put together well and plated with care. They do give you 3 pretzels but I got eager and took one before I could snap a picture. The restaurant is very clean. The restrooms are clean. The town is noticeably clean as well. I don't ever write reviews but I feel this one is needed. me and 5 others went there on Saturday night around 630. the place was empty and for Lewiston on a Saturday night that is unusual. well we figured out why. ordered 3 appetizers all were horrible. then when we get the bill it was $350. we all just got a burger and one drink a piece. the waitress gave you a option for side chips, onion rings or fries. then when we get the bill it was a extra $6 for the onion rings and $5 for fries. she never told us. they charged extra for salad dressing for a salad. screws up the one person order brought the fries out after everyone's meal was done and charged extra for them. the burgers sucked , fries undercooked. i dont see how this place is still open but with the minimal crowd they had on Saturday night i cant see them being open and longer. and they charged extra for pop refills. my guess is the owner is trying to squeeze every penny out of the customers before he closes down. read more
