We made a reservation at Hustler's Tavern in Lewiston, and I'm glad we did--it was packed! The ambiance was warm and welcoming, giving the whole place a nice, relaxed vibe. We went for the French Onion Detroit-Style Pizza and the Lemon Ricotta Pizza--both were absolutely delicious, generous in portion, and well-priced. While in the area from Michigan we stopped in at Hustler's for dinner. What a great choice! The chopped (classic antipasto) salad was great, easily served 4. Do not skip the truffle fries, which is the hugest portion of fries I've seen. The wings were perfectly sauced and crisp on the outside, and the pizza choices (thick, crisp "Detroit" pan style or thin New York style) were unique and delicious. This place blew my balls off. Stopped in before a concert at Artpark. Peachfest was going on and the area was mobbed. They take reservations but I never considered making one. I thought that would be a huge mistake but we were seated immediately at the bar. Tenders were attentive, helpful and kind. Solid beer options and quality cocktails. Brussels spout appetizer was HUGE and delicious. The hot and sweet pizza stole the show. It wasn't the prettiest pie but my goodness was it quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had. As for their Detroit style pizza, I've tried it twice, and both times felt it was totally missing something. Not enough sauce. Felt like I was eating a cheesy breadstick. Dough is light with a little bit of chew but the toppings are way too minimal for the pizza. If you want a great Detroit style pizza I recommend trying Jay's artisan pizza on Delaware Avenue. Both times I've had great service. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ambience is nice if you're there on a weeknight. It tends to get very loud on the weekends. read more

Hustlers tavern is a great spot to go for a pizza dinner if you want something a little nicer than ordering local takeout (though takeout from Hustlers also sounds like a great idea..). We came on a Tues and were delighted that the special was buy one pizza get 10 free wings. We decided to do this - wings were very good and we were able to split the flavor, and the Detroit style pizza was delicious!! We also got a salad to make ourselves feel a bit better about the heaviness of wings and pizza, and the beet salad fit the bill perfectly. This new spot in Lewiston is a great addition to the village. It has amazing food and cocktails. We visited on a Friday, not knowing they took reservations over the phone for their tables. Luckily, we were able to snag a couple seats at the bar. The spicy chicken Caesar salad was really delicious and had a nice crunch to provide some texture. Whatever hustle they may do it is done well. initially seeing their business on Facebook we decided to ride out to Lewiston to give them a try. I was not disappointed. Everything I tried was great. I can't remember if I ever had Detroit style pizza before but I have been back several times since then. The wings are great as well as the other items. This review is not only for those who are considering checking out Hustler's in Lewiston, but also for its owner, whose own employees are undermining his efforts to remain open in a part of the village where many others have failed. i've frequented this establishment for the last time. The main reasons are two employees who may or not be playing will a full deck and could care less if paying customers return or not. The first employee, a barmaid named Brooke, may be the worst bartender in WNY. Not only is she unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational, even when she's in the wrong, but acts as if she's doing you a favor every time she serves you a drink. The time i was in with my two cousins they swore they'd never return because of the unpleasant experience. One of them said, "This bartender should be bagging groceries at Tops." Does Brooke care if my cousins never come back? Obviously not and this should concern the owner, who likely does. The second reason is the unhinged cook, who sent us home with a burnt pizza that was inedible. Of course, he knew he burned it, but he tossed it in a box anyway, not caring if we returned or not. As for me, it's not, and that should concern the owner, who has an uphill battle making it where Hustler's is located, especially when his employees behave in a such a way that makes customers not want to return. Last summer, me and my friends watched in disbelief as the crazy cook threw a temper tantrum that would have embarrassed a toddler, slamming and banging things for a good fifteen minutes. Have no idea what set him off, but he certainly was pissed. It went on for so long it became comical, like live entertainment but the bartender looked legitimately frightened. Does he care if customers return or not? Obviously not. FYI: The first time i was in Hustler's i sat at the bar for about an hour or so, working up an appetite and planning to take a pizza home. The place closes at 10pm and was mostly empty. About 15 minutes before closing about two dozen people piled into the place. There was a festival that day in the other part of the village and they were overflow from the other bars. The barmaid (young brunette, late 20s, maybe 30) obviously had made plans for the evening and quickly closed the place down, costing the owner a tidy sum. Does she care if Hustler's makes it or not? Obviously not. To the owner of Hustler's: The odds of your business succeeding in the village are against you, especially on the wrong outskirts of town. But if your employees are, consciously or not, working against you, Hustler's has little chance of lasting for very long. i hope i'm wrong and these employees are the exception rather than the rule but every time i'm in your place, one of the employees has made me not want to come back. The burnt pizza was the last straw. Consider taking a good look at your staff and definitely spend more time keeping an eye on your employees. i've not seen anyone that looks remotely like an owner or manager when i've been there and when nobody is looking over their shoulders, your staff conduct themselves as if they'd been hired by a rival restauranteur who sent them to destroy your business. read more

I went to Hustler's Tavern around 7 pm on a Friday night. It was stuffy under the outdoor patio area, a noticeable difference in temperature between under the awning and outside. Our server was attentive, but unfortunately forgot to ring in one of the pizzas in our order. We ordered the cauliflower starter and crushed tomato pizza. The aesthetic was awesome, I would say upscale casual. I went here last night with my 6 friends for a ladies night out and Hustlers BROUGHT IT! We all shared 2 apps, 2 salads, and 2 pizzas and everything was delicious! The Dill pickle pizza and the Brussel sprouts stood out (there was NOTHING LEFT). The drinks were great! A wide variety of cocktails, beer, and wine. Only reason we are at a 4 is the service.... It's just clear they need help. There was only 1 bartender (that's like a no-no for a Friday night in Lewiston) it took too long to get drinks. Our server was CLEARLY on too many tables. We had to ask for water several times, I was left without a plate at one point, and she seemed extremely frazzled. One of my friends said that she saw only that they were hiring, so I really hope they get more staff. The food was SOO GOOD I want this tiny tavern to survive. read more

We tried this place yesterday evening for the first time. It was wonderful! It is a beautiful restaurant, very cozy on a snowy night. We had the Detroit style cup and char pizza (I agree with previous reviewers to add extra cup and char), and the chargrilled wings. We were so happy with all of our food. My fiancé had 3.5 pieces of pizza. This is highly unusual behavior! He was so happy with the food. Madison was a great server. Friendly and just the right amount of attentive. We will definitely be back and will be recommending it to friends as well. read more

hmmm it's new i understand but my oh my like the saying goes you only get one chance to make a first impression this first was awful bartender was uninformed about what they had ( no crab cakes) or in this case what they didn't have on top of that she really wasn't very pleasant with little sense of urgency oh top of that chicken fingers were just ok i think they make them there served with fries shoe string that must be the cheapest they can find because they were all broken up in very small pieces served with nothing no ketchup no malt vinegar salt nothing. oh and back to the bartender I don't think she even knew what malt vinegar was and said they didn't have any anyway sooooo good luck i will give it another chance in a few months to see if they learned anything read more
