Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen Restaurant - Canadian (New) Near Me - Niagara Falls, Ontario

This was such a cozy experience. 19 degrees, snowing & this was the perfect place to cuddle up for brunch Located inside a quaint hotel in downtown Niagara Falls, it's a rustic lodge aesthetic complete with a burning fireplace in the dining area. They had a holiday bar that was secluded yet super cute. The service was pretty good, didn't take too long for someone to greet us. The food was soso - I ordered an egg Benedict with Canadian bacon & a mimosa. It might be the American in me but the bacon seemed undercooked and the potatoes barely seasoned. My family shared avocado toast and stated that it was standard as well. Overall this seems like a fun place for cocktails and comfort so I'm not writing it off. If I'm ever on this side in the future, I'll try dinner instead. read more

Most of food I had in Niagara Falls was what I will call touristy. It may have tasted good, but it was priced in the high end. Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen was different. The food tasted great and for what I ate - the value matched up. The burger was solid. The place is small and quaint and is attached to a hotel. The staff were very friendly and made me wish I was staying at the property. Would definitely go back! read more

Beautiful space? Check. Interesting menu? Check. Excellent service? Also check. From check in to check out what a nice experience. The space really is beautiful. I still don't know if the building is historic but it looked it. Our server was lovely and prompt. The menu is very interesting. Still not sure if it's pricy because of currency exchange but we got our moneys worth. Hubby: a local IPA, local Pinot and the short ribs which he declared were the best he's ever had in his life. On the bone was left on the plate. The. The pumpkin pie because he can't resist. The cleaned plate means it hit the spot. The kid: got the sliders. They dared to put a sauce on them but he powered thru. The little terrorist. I got the meatballs and Caesar salad. Just the right about of food. The salad was fresh and not overly dressed. The meatballs were excellent and came with extra bread...as all things should. I had the cherry bomb cocktail and a local Pinot Grigio. So tasty. I got the blueberry cheesecake. Not my normal dessert but nicely tart. A really great meal. Great care for the customer too. read more

Attached to a boutique hotel, the restaurant is somewhat small but lovely. Service was quick and friendly. While the menu isn't expansive, it is enough. Portions are medium to large. We had two shareables: the millionaire bacon and pastries. There were five in our party and it was enough prior to our actual breakfasts. Food was favorfull and we'll seasoned. Presentation was lovely and we plan on returning. Note: there is a kids menu available. Parking was free and easy. read more

We loved the Ambiance. The old historic building, with the cozy chairs and beautiful decor was amazing. The fresh scones and croissants were a huge portion and a hit with our family of 6. They also have fun fancy Coffees, and I loved the maple one. My son loved his French toast but I was underwhelmed by my burger and fries. The fries didn't seem "fresh cut," they were soft and lacked flavor. I would return just for the coffee, scones and butter. read more

After a long drive and border crossing, we were famished! Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen really set us off in a positive direction for our trip to Niagara Falls! We decided to split the classic breakfast. Our wonderful server had the kitchen plate it separately and we were pleasantly surprised at the bounty! Delicious bread, sausage, bacon, grilled tomato, eggs cooked to order and the highlight was the beans! We loved our wine pairing as well and happily made our way to the falls read more

For our last meal in Niagara Falls, we decided to do breakfast at Flour Mill. So glad we did. From the charming rustic setting of the restaurant, to the superb service, the delicious French press coffee, everything was top notch. I had shakshuka for breakfast, and it was one of the best I've ever had. My daughter had avocado toast, which she loved. Our bacon tree with maple bourbon syrup was to die for. Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

What a disappointment, they seemed to forget about us repeatedly throughout the night, we got drinks once, one glass of wine each, and then another server took pity on us over an hour later and refilled our waters once, and it took hours to get out in the end with nothing else to drink the whole time. My pasta was just unseasoned pasta in unsalted butter, a pinch of salt would have made it so much better. It was just such a long night for that bland dish, our server ignored us, I eventually had to get up and chase her down for our check. read more

The restaurant is within walking distance (but uphill) from the falls, near the $10 parking lot. They serve "blunch until 3pm with both breakfast and lunch items. We had the bacon rack which was excellent. He had an egg dish with halloumi, tomato sauce, and toast, a generous portion and he loved it. I had the chia pudding with fresh fruit and oats, more than I could eat and very good. Great service! read more

A hidden gem! The many times I have gone to Niagara and never discovered this place boggles my mind. Everything is just so wonderful about this place. A lot of pretty Christmas decor as the restaurant is located inside the Old Stone Inn. Very quiet and unlike the other tourist spots. Reservations can be made online and easily can access the menu as well. I ordered their Avocado Toast, mimosa and a latte. Everything from the service to quality of the food is immaculate. Very fresh ingredients and their sourdough is made in house. I definitely was impressed at how attentive the server was and overall very welcoming. Coming from Toronto, prices here are reasonable especially near tourist attractions and other restaurants as well. Highly recommend! This place is aesthetically pleasing but also the food is delicious! Will come back on my next visit. read more

We stopped here for breakfast and had such a great experience! Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen is located inside a hotel, but you don't need to be a guest to enjoy the restaurant. The ambiance is very cute, with lots of thoughtful decorations and even some nice photo opportunities. Right outside the hotel, there are also some great spots for pictures. The food was delicious. I had the avocado toast with a soft egg on top along with a hot chocolate. The portion was a good size, and everything tasted fresh. It is a little on the pricier side, but the quality makes it worth it. Service was also excellent, our waitress was very kind and attentive. Overall, a charming spot for a tasty breakfast, and I'd definitely come back! read more

This restaurant is located inside a cute little inn with a bright floral dining room. We were a group dining for breakfast/blunch as they called it. They had a great selection of offerings as some of us wanted breakfast and others wanted lunch. The service was attentive and very patient with our little munchkins in tow. All the portions were plentiful and we happily shared our individual entrees with each other. The million dollar bacon tree was probably the highlight. A display of crispy candied maple bacon hanging from individual metal clips. The bacon itself was saturated with the maple flavor and didn't really need the accompanying bourbon maple dip. There's a convenient parking lot out front and our wait time was nil. read more

I love brunch, and Flour Mill scratched that itch of mine when I was in Niagara Falls for a mini getaway. Mostly everyone in our group got a hearty Country Mill Breakfast, which was an ample amount of traditional breakfast foods like eggs, bacon, sausage etc. I ordered their char salad, which was delicious and satisfying even though it's a salad! I was worried it might be too saucy or not filling, but it was perfect with a light dressing. I had a few bites and discovered the salad was missing halloumi that was on the ingredients list. No worries, the server rectified it and added it to the salad after I inquired. The salad may not be such a popular dish, since there are so many other great options. I also tried a couple of bites of the lobster tostada, which was tasty too! Highly recommend it if you want to treat yourself to a nice brunch in a rustic-chic setting. read more

This place is incredibly adorable! There are two rooms one is pictured below and is set in a kind of Victorian style with antique chairs and decor, the second not pictured is very bright with (fake) cherry blossom trees as part of the decoration. The service was good, no complaints there The food unfortunately was a confusing experience. Some parts of it were incredibly delicious and others were seriously bad. The pastries, bread, preserves, potatoes, and other sides were very very good! The meat was once of the worsts I've ever had! The bacon was extremely hard and lacked any type of flavor, the sausage was very dry and the beans were under cooked. For the price point of this restaurant it was a little depressing to not be able to eat the main parts of the meal. read more

Flour Mill has a beautiful dinning area with tons of old character that is very inviting. The music selection while you eat is very random but at least it was at a low volume. We had the scone and croissant shared plate which was amazing. I had the eggs with bacon and sausage, which was very good. The sausage had a very good flavour and the bread that was served was very good. In fact all the baked products were very good. -SS Flour Mill has very nice interior that looks very old. It looks like a very nicely decorated cabin. The scones and croissants are delicious, the scones are so buttery and the croissants are super flaky. I had the coconut oat chia seed pudding. It had bananas blueberries and strawberries. It was pretty good it tasted like it had a little maple syrup in it. I tried some toast too, toast usually tastes the same but this toast was really good. The service was good, the food was a little bit slow but it was fine. Everyone was kind and friendly. I loved this restaurant I recommend going here. -MS read more

My gf and I made a visit to this cozy resto on a saturday, during a weekend getaway trip to niagara falls. It was about a 10-15 min walk from our hotel and had very high ratings on yelp, tripadvisor and google. The resto itself is located inside the Old Stone Inn which is a hotel. We arrived around noon-ish and walked up to the fine young man at the host desk who seated us promptly. I'm guessing because we arrived during the offseason there wasn't that much of a wait because reading some of these other reviews it seems like it's notoriously hard to get a table without a reservation. Not the case in our experience. We were sat in the main room near the fireplace. That's when my gf noticed the brightly lit side room with all these cute christmas decorations and told me she wanted to sit by the bay window with some nice sunlight. When I asked our portly, older gentleman of a server if we could move into the side room he gave us a thumbs up and kindly moved all of our cutlery for us. My gf and I settled for the french toast brule and the mill country skillet. I was very happy with the quality of the food. The french toast looked like it had 3 star michelin plating and the toast was the proper, thick cut, brioche kind. The skillet had a lot of components to it but the potatoes were cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside and tender on the inside). I liked that it came with caramelized onions and homemade sausage. That was a nice finish. We also ordered some french press which came out WITH the press for us to press ourselves. The quality of the coffee was actually superb. Idk who their supplier is but excellent quality beans haha. Service absolutely impeccable. The waiter always checked on us. Brought over extra whipped butter and jam when we asked for it and was always an arm raise away. I came out of lunch/brunch super satisfied and my gf was very happy as well. This resto is literally like the perfect brunch spot for anyone visiting niagara falls. The homey vibe, cozy decor and amazing food are all enticing me to return in the future! read more

This was such a great find!! First, the ambience was like none other... we were seated near the window where cherry blossom trees adorned the walls. The center pieces were dried hydrangea... so pretty. The food was superb! Highly recommend the blueberry cornbread... so good! We each ordered a different dish and shared. The French toast was so good we didn't even get a photo (dug in too fast!). My favorite was the veggie Benedict with smashed avocado... it was on a home baked scone (Canadian scones are like flaky biscuits - not the hard sweet scones in US) and was drool-worthy. My sisters liked the shasuka best... it tasted like a tomato-savory stew with unique spices. It was served with 2 poached eggs and on-site baked sourdough toast. Let's not forget the coffee which was served in a French press. It was really good so I had to order a refill When I return to Niagara with my hub & kids I'm definitely taking them here. One of the best meals we had on our trip. Yummmmmm read more
