The wings are as good as advertised. The service was a bit slow but kind. They had waffle sweet potato fries that were amazing. Apparently those are not the norm but an exception. They should make it the norm. There are lots of tvs for viewing the big game.

Single Traditional Wings w/ Mango Habanero

The Anchor Bar claims its part on the lineage of what the world knows and loves about buffalo wings. As far as traditional wings go, the ones I had were excellent, with excellent crisp and flavor. Service was excellent, which was good as close to closing as we came. Was not disappointed!

A restaurant that is known for their wings. The restaurant is very open, lots of space and wasn't very busy when we were there. We sat at the bar. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She did check in us often. The manager even came by to see how we were doing. I ordered the roast beef on weck bun. I wanted to try something different and want the place is known for. The meat was very good, however the weck bun is not for me. We also got wings that looked great and were very good. The soft drinks are overpriced, but other than that it's a very nice place.

Walked in on a Tuesday night around 6pm. It wasn't too busy, got seated right away. We decided on a dry rub wings, with fried pickles(a must) All was great. Conan took great care of us. I would come back again.

Really glad we stopped in here. Always wanted to try the original while in Buffalo but haven't had the chance. Finally got to an Anchor bar though. Sat at the bar and got great service from the bartender and the manager also stopped by to see how the meal was. Got the Buffalo dip for appetizer and would def get it again. For my meal got 10 wings for $19.99. I would def come here again but my only serious problem was the iced tea was $7. For $5 more I could've gotten a Bloody Mary w a wing in it. Great place but $7 for iced tea is a bit too much.

I've heard about Anchor bar many times over the years and though the pics I've seen of their Buffalo Wings never looked appetizing to me, I stopped in here one evening because it was a quick walk from my hotel and it was pouring rain. When I got there they were moderately busy, but there were many seats available at the bar, where I sat. It took a while before the bartender came to greet me and it was a quick touch & go when she did. Service was extremely lackluster the entire visit as she stayed at the other end of the bar the entire time, either handling service bar or patrons on that end... Made me wish I would have sat down there instead. But I had to wait for basic stuff, like a fork after being served my food. The food was decent. I tried their Beef on Weck and Wing combo - It looked nice then it came out, but it didn't come with much horseradish and I wanted to ask for more, but I'd still be waiting, so I dealt with what I got. The sandwich itself was great! Beef was tender and flavorful, the bun was great too - except I don't understand why they made them with the outside being so greasy, that's nasty. The wings had decent flavor, I ordered them with their spicy BBQ sauce on them, which wasn't spicy at all. They had a nice crisp to them too, but they were small and not very meaty, so 5 went down quickly. The fries were plain and basic, nothing special. I had to wait quite a while for the check and ended up flagging down the barback to get it for me and hurried up and paid while I had his attention, as the bartender never came back down to our end of the bar. Seems like the 2 guests around me had the same issue. Overall, it's a touristy place with mediocre food and poor service.

Buffalo Mild Wings.

Good customer service, decent waiting time, the ambience was relaxed, definitely more of a sports bar type of feel, the food was good, I got the buffalo mild wings because of course when you're near Buffalo you have to try 'em and I enjoyed them. Price wise it was a little expensive, but overall a good experience.

As a frequent traveler to the Buffalo area, I was excited to finally try the Anchor Bar. Visited the location near Niagara Falls on a Wednesday evening. Good size location near a Holiday Inn. Our group of 3 waited a bit for someone to seat us. We then waited longer (felt like 10 minutes) for our server to engage. We she finally came over we ordered drinks and food. She mostly came over when called, not really to check how we were doing. A positive note they let me sub regular wings into the Mac & cheese dish. Menu description made it sound delicious. Mac was not as creamy as I hoped it would be. Sparse blue cheese crumbles, no crusties on the mac and cheese either. Wings were crispy but not too flavorful. I ordered hot bacon jam and only tasted bacon when I picked up a piece off the plate. One thing to consider is that location is right in front of a bus stop. I noticed large groups coming as we were leaving. There were also a few tour busses in the parking lot. We parked without a pass for a bit and ended up being fine. Not sure what rules are. My co-worker ordered Anchor Bar Bloody Mary. She said it was amazing.

Came here to of course try the world's first famous creation of Buffalo Wings! When we got there, it was packed, and we waited in line for over an hour. Understandable since we didn't have reservations and it was a Saturday but somebody giving us a head's up about wait time would've been nice. Considering the entrance was getting crowded with people waiting for a table, not knowing how long they'd be waiting for and nobody at the front to give us any information. We waited, nonetheless since we really wanted to try Anchor Bar. (Little did we later realize that there are several Anchor Bar branches throughout Buffalo). When we were seated, our server Tia came after a bit and apologized for the wait, we didn't give it much mind, we weren't in a rush. We waited the hour, we could wait a little while longer. At least now we were seated. We ended up ordering the bone-in wings; we got 10 buffalo and 10 dry rub lemon pepper wings and a plate of fries. The food arrived quick. The buffalo wings were amazing and tasted fresh but they were light, I wish they added more buffalo sauce. The lemon pepper rub was delicious and the fries were good. Delicious and worth the hype! Especially if you're a tourist.

Buffalo Best Anchor Bar Wings and Weck

Had the famous wings! Was a quick stop but they were delivered pretty fast to my bar seat and the bartender who waited on me was great. I would go again. The restaurant didn't have any major appeal in the dining room but its not really that kind of place. Good local wing place.

I mean buffalo wings in Buffalo is like a must isn't it?! This location was in walking distance from our hotel and a stones throw from Niagara Falls!! The wings were good and the flavor choices were quite varied. Service was good for a busy Friday night. Our waitress did forget our appetizer but it did make it out to the table quickly after we reminded her

Chicken Wings and Fries

Had to try this place since it's pretty renown in Buffalo. Got 10 wings with the spicy garlic sauce. The sauce it self was really good. The wings on the other hand were a bit underwhelming. They were juicy but not crispy. Was still good just not the best wings I've had. Service was a little slow but it was a busy Friday night and to be expected. The restaurant itself had a weird smell the whole evening.

We started with some mixed drinks. This is the original place of the buffalo wings. My wife choose the 3 piece pepperoni rolls with sauce while I went with 10 piece boneless garlic parm. Then I got my wife the lava cake (not on menu). This is a Military friendly location.

I'm not sure if the entire second floor was devoted to the sports bar but we sat in one section of the restaurant. There were lots of flatscreen TV's (sports bar, duh!). One was showing the Canadian Open. I don't watch golf, neither was I interested in the sport but Canada has a conquering hero... that day Nick Taylor drained a 72-foot putt to win the RBC Canadian Open... a miracle playoff putt that ended a seven-decade drought. So congrats, Canada! Anyway, that's my sports tidbit for that day. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and hubby got the Classic Burger. Prices were on the high side. Maybe because I'm looking at the bill in Canadian dollars. Anyway, the patty on the burger was an 8-oz angus beef. Hubby enjoyed it. Salad was good... it was a generous portion, loved the bacon bits. Our server was great! Our side was pretty empty. She did good in checking on us once in a while and comes to refill our glasses of water when necessary. Review #3046

We got there shortly before 5:00 on a Saturday, before the dinner rush, and were seated immediately. I'd say service definitely improved since their opening. Our waitress was very attentive & helpful. While eating, we also had someone else, possibly the manager, stop at our table to ask how everything was. I ordered the spices crispy chicken sandwich with a side salad. My husband got the Canadiana burger. We shared an order of poutine. First off. Portions were huge & brought home half the food. The chicken was as described, crispy. Though I didn't get much spice flavor. The cabbage slaw and aioli were the perfect toppings. The poutine order was more than enough for 2 people. They didn't skimp on the cheese curds. The gravy was OK. I thought it was interesting that the middle of the room was filled with recliner type chairs. You can get a drink and enjoy one of the many sporting events on their numerous screens. Overall, decent food and good service. There was a long line when we left. Not sure how service might change with the larger crowd. 2024-29

The only issue I can see is that the place holds about 75 seats, so it must fill up on a good night! I wish more bars were as nice as Eager Beavers, where I live. I was glad I choose this place for a Saturday afternoon lunch.
