Unfortunately, my experience at Wingnutz on Genesee St. in Buffalo was disappointing. I was really looking forward to trying the food, but it didn't live up to expectations. The wings arrived cold and were overly soggy, which took away from what should have been the highlight of the meal. The nachos were also disappointing -- they were overpriced and didn't offer anything special for the cost. I also tried the beef on weck, which was average but nothing that stood out. Thanks to an internet search, we found this restaurant. Our hotel room wasn't ready early so we needed time to kill and we were hungry. The hostess greeted us warmly and immediately asked how many in our party and seated us after asking our table preference. Our server was so attentive and helpful. We chose nachos for our appetizer. They were huge and we couldn't finish them all at one setting. The mother clucker sandwich was chefs kiss. I didnt finish it at the restaurant and it reheated well. The house salad was so good and plentiful, my family even helped me eat it. I thought it was side salad sized but not so. My child loved the cheeseburger and fries. He ate it all up. I don't pretend to know what a gluten free chicken wing entails but if that's a desire of yours, this place is your friend. The only chicken place around that offers a flight where you can try all their flavors! The wings were cooked to perfection and smothered in sauces. As for the flavors themselves: all of their levels of buffalo are really about the same (just a kick and not spicy per se), the honey and garlic ones are great for those that don't like any kick, and their best flavor is really their WN signature. Came here for an event with friends, which was hosted in its own room that's wedged between the restaurant and hotel. It's a decent sized room if you're having a mid-size gathering. I would say 40 or less people is good, but don't all go up for food at once or it will get congested. It can actually seat more than that so call for exact headcount it allows. I'm thinking again of congestion if people are getting in and out of their seats. We had a speaker talking about the history of sports in Buffalo. There was a podium, projector and microphone he used, I think provided by Wingnutz, but you'll have to double check to be on the safe side if that's something you would like to use. There were TVs all over the room with different sports games on and the news. There's an overhead speaker that was playing music and can be turned off while someone is speaking. And I'm sure can be tuned to the TVs. We had one waitress taking care of 12 of us and she did a phenomenal job! The food was excellent! We had pizza, beef on weck sliders, chicken sliders, and about 6 flavors of chicken wings! And the chicken wings were nice and crispy! My absolute favorite was the garlic parm! That's not my typical fave but it was here! Yum! They had wet napkins and a giant bucket at each table for your chicken bones too. I also enjoyed a peach hibiscus cocktail. The room had sports decor while also remaining crisp and clean and modern and leaving room for your own detail if you wanted your own celebratory theme. It's consistently flavorful, balanced, and exactly what you want when you're chasing that perfect Buffalo wing experience. Between us, we tried a spread: beef on weck, "nacho friends," mild wings, hot wings, BBQ wings, and parmesan wings. The BBQ and parmesan wings were solid hits, but the signature sauce stole the show. On the flip side, the mild wings were a bit too soft, and the buffalo-style wings were overly sauced--just didn't hit the mark. They also have a wide variety of draft and bottle beer, and they are all reasonably priced. The wings were great as always. We were there a 4:30. By the time we were leaving, there was a line at the entrance, possibly because it was $1.00 wing night. Danielle was as efficient as she could be, but she had problems with applying our friends' gift card on their bill and my birthday treat on ours. Both were eventually applied to our respective checks, but my birthday treat was apparently applied manually as my Toast points were not added because she must not have been successful at using my phone number. Our cheese pizza was good, maybe a little heavy handed on the seasoning this time but it was cheesy and the dough was cooked perfectly. For the first time ever it pains me to say it, the wings lacked the crunch , and sauce. Well some of them lacked the sauce. The honey garlic wings were swimming in a sea of sauce while the buffalo medium were dipped, with no residual sauce on the tray. Biting into the wings I always expect that nice crunch like I've gotten in dozens of my other visits because my most recent trip the same medium sauce on them was absolute perfection. I had the opportunity to go to a Yelp Elite event as a plus one at this location and had a great time! The event took place outside in the hotel courtyard, which was very cool but I'll keep the review to the restaurant and the food. We enjoyed samples of three different types of wings, several types of pizza and sliders. Traditional wings, garlic parm and a sweet BBQ. All delicious, every wing cooked perfectly. Hey, I didn't even get chicken stuck in my teeth as everyone from Buffalo knows is part of the wing experience but perfectly cooked wings eliminate that! Pizza was great, I tried a traditional slice that had a light honey drizzle and sesame seeds on the crust, some spice and heat to it but just pleasant, nothing that burns the mouth or ruins the pizza. Tried an eggplant slider and a beef on weck slider, both excellent, eggplant also cooked perfectly, good tomato sauce and cheese. Beef was tender and just right. A rather large piece of chicken on the available chicken slider but I just noted how good it looked - we didn't take too much so the rest of the people had enough to go around. Next time! A very nice salad was also provided. We had a drink at the bar first, about average prices, good service, comfortable bar atmosphere, I thought. Though we ate outside, the interior of Wingnutz was appealing, cool in the summer heat, Really would have liked to order something else after the event but there was plenty of food to go around. I've heard nothing but great things since they were on Kenmore. I'd say at this point, most wing spots in Buffalo are very good and it's all preference. However, they do seem to be bigger wings here! It's spacious inside and connected to a hotel. They had merch you could buy at the front and an outside eating area. They had lunch specials so we got one and ate inside. We waited longer than what I feel is reasonable during the day and I was surprised considering there were few people inside.
