This was my family's first stop when we hopped off the Go Train for lunch. We weren't sure where to have lunch so my husband did a quick search and suggested Grand Central Sports. He suggested a great lunch spot! It was a nice sunny day so we all opted to have lunch on the patio. We all ordered different flavours of wings and two different pizza's. Food and drinks came out fast. Our server was friendly and attentive. We all enjoyed our lunch! The wings were well seasoned and the pizza was yummy. He was right; the place was hopping on a Friday night. There was a band the night we visited but they were really, really bad. We kinda drowned them out while we enjoyed beers, wings, tenders and fries. We asked our server about other good places in the area and appreciated her recommendations. The bill wasn't a huge shock. Great place where the locals gather to watch sports, play pool, eat, and drink. If you're not into corporate eateries, stuffy cuisine, snobby staff, etc., then this is your place... just like "Cheers" but with a friendlier crowd of customers. We liked it so much tonight that we plan to return tomorrow. Don't fret if you're not into adult beverages. The shirly temple or the Arnold palmer are purely the best you'll ever enjoy! The wife had the small pizza, which was perfect, and I chowed down on the smoky burger, a half pound of perfectly cooked hamburger and sauce with a VERY generous serving of housemate fries. I would describe this place as a nice size, hole in a wall, dive bar and sports bar all in one. Came here on a Tuesday, which was .50 cent wings and $5/$5.50 beers. The wings are good, not great, but are doable for .50 cent a piece. They have about 12-15 different beer on tap and good priced drinks. This is a very average small-city sports pub. We tried it because it was on Queen Street and we wanted to avoid the tourist traps. I've only been here once so far, but it seems to be a pretty cool place. It's lighter on the wallet than the more touristy Clifton Hill bars. They have good deals on pizza and wings. Pleasantly surprised, especially since the food was better than I would have expected given the genera of restaurant (sports restaurant/bar). The first thing I noticed once we entered was the fact that the restaurant looked clean and well maintained. We were greeted within 30 seconds of sitting and had cold drinks shortly there after. The menu featured a good selection, but not too many items. We wanted to keep it light so we ordered the Grilled Chicken Pesto Wrap and the Turkey BLT Wrap, both included sweat potato fries. To start we had the large Caesar Salad. All the food was excellent, good size portions and the prices were very reasonable. The service was great as well, our waitress was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We'll definitely visit again. read more

Rolling in on a Tuesday night after 10pm, this is one of three joints open on the street and the only one serving a full menu. You take what you can get, right? It was a full house with lots of different sporty sports across the many, many screens. Tuesday is taco Tuesday! That said, they don't know what a taco is at all whatsoever. A better word would be burrito. Definitely a burrito. I wish I had taken a photo because it was literally as burrito-y as it could possibly be. But at $3.50, it did the trick. At the normal $7, I wouldn't go near the thing because it's just some simple ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. Get it with jalapeno (they're pickled), and it'll make a world of difference. For the downtown core of Niagara Falls and an evening of fun this is one of the two places I would choose to go, Taps being the other. My wife and I went here the first time for New Years Eve two years ago and I feel in love with the place as I wish my bar could have been just as busy and nice as this place. Lot's of TV's, pool tables, games, and good music depending on the crowed. The bands they get in are good but really does no one know how to setup a proper sound system around here. As for the food. New years Eve we had a great dinner and drinks, danced and had a great time. But over the last two years the food has gone down hill. Either is over cooked, no flavour or just tastes bad. Now I have to say I have seen a few people order there Pizza and it looks good, but I just have not had a chance to order one yet. As for the Patron's. They are young and rude. On nights they do not have live music they only have an electronic Jukebox and the music is awful most of the time. But if you keep to yourself and don't look at a young person you are safe, I think? (Now I am older but I also DJ'd for several years, and played top 40, rock and alt rock,punk on the radio. So don't think my age has anything to do with the music played. I love it all but at the right time for the right place.) The door staff is not that friendly and very scary looking but I guess that's the point. One time I was there I noticed a person on the patio with a drink, walking off the deck onto the streets. I told the bouncer who did nothing about it, Went to the bar and told what I though was a staff member but ended up being the owner. The owner became rude and again did nothing about it. Once again Niagara Health and Liquor inspectors do not do their jobs and let these business's do what they want. Big CON for me: I hate rude businesses. I have seen the staff of this place deny entrance or treat senior looking patrons like shit. I have meet a few people in the area that volunteer at a few functions as we do and they will not go into the place for this very reason. So we have decided to stop going to this business as often, but if Taps does not have anything going on and we want a place to listen to live music walking distance from home we may end up here once again. But I don't really think I will be able to go back into this business again. read more

Nice place! The waitstaff were friendly and the food was good. The music wasn't too loud so we could actually have a nice conversation. Not bad for a "locals" pub and grill. The only thing that threw me off was that I ordered a crispy chicken grilled cesar wrap which came with a massive pile of fries. The wrap was hot...so the romaine lettuce was very hot and soft (kind of like cooked spinach).... not my thing but my husband got an open faced burger and really enjoyed it. This place is great. Bar food is bar food but they do it well here. Atmosphere is incredible. Way better than the touristy areas of NF. Lots of TVs, looks like there are lots of options for live entertainment in the evenings. Game room allows kids to keep busy while parents enjoy a beverage. Lots of bar space and high top tables as well as more conventional family seating. Pop music plays in background unless here is a big game on. First time I've seen an ice hockey table. Like air hockey but actual ice and played with mini sticks. Fun hang out place. Wish we had found this place earlier in our trip. read more

we chose this bar because there are very few other places that have any veg options on their menu while this pub has a pizza with ingredients of your choice on the menu which was the only available veg option on the street. it also had a nice atmosphere with the most people (as compared to empty wastness of surrounding restaurants and cafes) and that was very attractive too. too bad we couldn't make it to the live music which happens every friday at 10pm. that would probably be super nice and cozy evening =) nice place overall and very good prices. read more

I come in here every once in a while with some friends. Usually it's to watch some sports event on the many screens scattered about. The food is cheap, tasty, and they have some good specials. Last time I was here we stayed for some pizza and wing deliciousness as well as a whole bunch of pitchers of beer. Staff is friendly and attractive. We were visiting from the DC area this past weekend and wanted to catch the Orioles/Royals playoff game on Saturday evening -- went to Grand Central as recommended to us by our B&B owner. A great little place with decent food and drinks to enjoy -- lots of TVs for games to watch. Only complaint was once the hockey games started, they turned off all but one TV with the O's game on. Only in Canada ;) Also, plenty of parking on the street and decently priced food/drinks. read more

We wandered into Grand Central when Jeffro's across the street was closed for a private party. It became a pleasant surprise. Everything you would expect from a sport bar ran with pride. Not too greasy, but not so polished it's disingenuous (which should be seen as a compliment). A good burger at a decent price. Waitress recommended a chipotle mayo for the burger....and kept real quiet about the extra charge. We are staying at a hotel by the falls but we would skip any restaurant any day to go to grand central . The atmosphere and how live this place is, is absolutely amazing. The first time we came here was by accident because we took a cab and decided to stop when we heard the music . Two years later and my boyfriend and I still come here ! They welcome anyone and everyone with a smile ! They stay on top of things even when it's a busy 2am on a weekend they check up on you when it's necessary and make sure you're enjoying your time . The food is CHEAP and tastes AMAZING! The things you'd pay $12-$17 for at another restaurant is $7-$9 here and they serve it hot and it's enough to share with a group of people. I'm so happy I found this place I would drive the two hours any weekend just to get here !
