I stopped by here this past Friday night with my wife for drinks. We had originally planned on eating dinner at Taps but my own stupidity made us finding it a little difficult (it's around the corner on Queen) and so we went elsewhere. Thankfully we made it here after dinner. Taps has both indoor and outdoor seating but since it was cold on the day that we were there we chose to head inside. The inside is divided into two huge areas, dining and the bar. Behind the bar is a bunch of brewing equipment which the staff seems to be constantly walking around. On the dining room side there were a number of tables as well as a booth where a musician was singing since it was Friday night. As I often do whenever I am at a new brewery I decided to go with a flight here. For the flight I chose a lager, a red, a rye and an IPA. They were brought out quickly to me and I went through them in the recommended order. All of the beers ended up being good representations of their types and my favorite two were the rye and the IPA. Since I ended up ordering a pint I was forced to choose between the two and went with the Rye since I enjoyed it's full bodied flavor a bit more. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. All of the beers were good and the next time I hope to actually try some of their food. read more

We wanted a dinner that was affordable, casual and tasty but not near the tourist trappings of Clifton Hill after spending the entire day around the Falls. So, we checked out Taps after reading all the reviews. We were very impressed. Although they seemed 1 or 2 people short of full staff (there was no proper host and one of the bar staff seated us), that's the biggest knock I cam give them. We each got the beer flights, most enjoying Taps' Red Cream Ale and IPA with the Belgian Wit being a close second, which led to us ordering the Wit and Red Ale properly. For dinner, we started with the Roasted Red Pepper Dip, which was super tasty. I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich while she (my partner) got the "Beyond Meat" burger. Both were great, and drew rave reviews from us--as did the fries--but it was the pulled pork, even when it fell out of the sandwich, that we kept talking about all night. We were walking down Queen Street looking for a place to eat lunch after a morning of exploring. We got excited when we found this brewery. We love trying new beer. We were greeted at the door and invited to sit anywhere we like. We chose to sit in the patio area as it was a beautiful day. We started with a beer flight. The Flying Colour Lager was my favorite beer so I ordered a full one to go with my meal. I went with the Taps Original burger without a bun for lunch. Instead of sticking with the regular fries, I swapped them for poutine. It is a small extra charge but very worth it. You have to eat poutine while in Canada after all. It was our first night in Niagara Falls. We were both hungry and tried so we didn't overexert ourselves researching options for dinner. We desired something relatively quick and inexpensive so a brewery came to mind. We located a few on Yelp and selected this one due to its convenient distance from where we were lodging. On a positive note, we were seated immediately and the restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived. Additionally, there is a decent size private parking lot. Our server was busy and it's possible the restaurant could've been short staffed because we felt a bit rushed at times. It's important to note Chelsea was friendly and managed to take care of our needs. One of us ordered a gin and soda and two ordered a beer. No complaints regarding our adult beverages. For entrées, one ordered the baked lemon pepper haddock, another ordered the roasted vegetable curry and the remaining two of us ordered the chicken wings. Chicken wings are $.35 each on Wednesday nights with purchase. There is no mixing sauces, only one type is permitted per order of 10. That being said, one of us opted for medium while the other opted for sweet chili. The medium tasted more like hot and the sweet chili was sweet as promised. The chicken was scare which I gather was to be expected for $.35 wings. I tasted the roasted curry dish and found it to be mediocre. Although, the veggies tasted fresh. After settling into our hotel we took a walk around the falls area for food and decided to hop in our truck and look for somewhere outside the area to avoid the chains/tourist traps. We decided to try here after checking out the menu and seeing a fair amount of good teview. As others have shown in their pictures the inside has very nice decor and it's always cool to eat inside the brewery around the equipment. The staff was also very nice. Other reviews say the service is slow but if it was we didnt notice as we were taking our time (coming from the U.S., it was kind of nice not having wait staff check in with us every 2 mins trying to push us out). The only thing that was offputting was the doors were open and there were sooo many flies. This is really annoying when you are trying to eat. The food overall was ok. A little pricey but there weren't any glaring complaints. If I had to give a piece of criticism just to get that out of the way before giving the positives, it was that the fries that came with the entrees were a bit soggy. The quality of the meat on the Reuben sandwhich was high (very lean, no fat), I just wish there was more meat (coming from an area with plenty of Jewish delis, I'm used to a thicker sandwhich for the same price). The British fish and chips was crispy on the outside with a nice moist filet on the inside. The chicken fingers tasted like the breading was homemade and the plum dipping sauce was delightful. Our favorite item though was the pepper dip. I believe it's a cream cheese base so it was nice and thick and was full of red pepper flavor. We even dipped our fries and the chicken fingers in it. Overall it was a nice first experience after entering the country, but nothing stood out that you cant find at other breweries that serve food. oh my god!! went here with my family during a hockey tournament, we wanted something sit-down but not too pricey, and settled on trying this for the first time. the portions were HUGE, i barely made a dent in my poutine before i was stuffed, and for $14 that's the kind of size i love. the quality was also amazing, we got a burger, fish and chips, poutine, and a chicken club poutine and it was safe to say everybody loved everything they got. the breaded and fried foods we had were perfect, and i would definitely get some more of the onions rings if i went again. our service was incredible, our waitress was very attentive, kind, and helpful, as well as our food being served fairly quickly. the ambiance seems very casual- although we went midday and this definitely seems like a great night vibe, it was a LITTLE chilly but once the food came we didn't feel it at all. i would definitely bring the team here for team dinner for fast cheap good service! read more

Stopped by here while checking out the Falls over the weekend. I was just looking for a place for a quick bite to eat and a good beer, and Taps hit the spot. The beers here are good, I enjoyed the IPA but ordered a flight to try out a few more. I decided to order the spinach and artichoke dip as it came recommended by the bartender. It was pretty good! I liked that they brought it out with three different types of chips (pita, tortilla and a deep fried longer chip). I didn't order anything else but still enjoyed the experience. The service was just okay but I also came in the late afternoon so I'm not sure if that was the case because it was mid-day and they only had a few people on staff? Otherwise, I liked their ambiance of having a divey bar feel. They have free wifi which was nice and outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer. Overall great place for a beverage and food. We stopped here on our way north to Sudbury. Unfortunately we could not experience the full atmosphere with Covid regulations, so we have added it to the list of places to visit again. I came to Taps with 3 of my girlfriends on a Saturday night and it was just the vibe we needed. There was live music and the guy who sang was phenomenal and our waiter was very friendly and funny. I got a fuzzy wit beer cocktail and onion rings and had a lot of fun. The wait times weren't long at all and the prices were very reasonable. At the end of the main street of what I assume is a business district that isn't that neon lights of the tourist laden streets right next to the falls. It makes for a far lighter, quieter evening out but it was really nice to get away from all of the casino lights and tourist traps. Taps has a great big patio area for a nice evening dinner out in the fresh air. The weather was nice in August and the server came over fairly promptly to take our order. It's pretty standard pub fair with burgers and poutine (because we're in Canada). They serve a great burger. If you want a nice evening out away from the crowds, this is a great alternative that's a quick car ride or leisurely walk away. read more

Wonderful experience last night at Taps. It was our first time in Niagara Falls, so my boyfriend and I decided to walk around to see where we should eat for dinner. The town was kind of dead, but it was a Monday night. Then we came across Taps and it was hoping! No wonder no one was out and about...everyone was at Taps! This place was very pleasant to visit! My wife and I decided to go here for a dinner yesterday afternoon. They followed covid protocols perfectly. I ordered the fish and chips with Cajun fries, and wife had a pulled pork sandwich with Cajun fries. The fries to the both of us were absolutely perfect. The fish was so so crispy and inside incredibly tender and juicy. Pulled pork was insanely tender, sauce was delicious. And the coleslaw was the winner of both meals. The most delicious coleslaw paired so well with the pulled pork sandwich. And simply perfect on its own with the fish meal. Definitely will be back, so delicious! read more

We went on a Sunday night - me, husband, three young kids, my parents. Wasn't expecting live music, which I love but my son has sensory processing disorder and he was in bad shape because it was (understandably and normally) loud. Such a fan of this place! My boyfriend and i came up to Canada for a birthday at the great wolf lodge. At around 10 o'clock on Saturday we had about a group of 10 walk in to eat dinner, the place was just far too loud for us to enjoy our meals. However, on Sunday afternoon once we were done with the water park my boyfriend wanted to go somewhere local for lunch before going home and I instantly remembered this place from the nigh before. I found it on Yelp, and others had given such good reviews we just HAD to give it a shot and man am I glad we did! We started with a couple house brewed beers, I got the Blonde Ale and my boyfriend got the IPA. Both were good, but we liked the Blonde Ale the best. I started with an order of the Piggy Poutine because when you're in Canada you can't go wrong with poutine! It had BBQ pulled pork, bacon, gravy and cheese curds. This plate came out and sat in front of us like a large pile of goodness, steaming so hot it looked like a volcano! The first bite was just heavenly, I was able to get all of the ingredients in one bite, all of the toppings were evenly distributed within the dish (something i think in buffalo poutine people fail to do) but anyways, get it, you will love all of it's sweet juicy, delicious goodness. For our meals i ordered the burger with mushrooms and my boyfriend got the spicy ribs. The ribs were excellent, fall off the bone and had a perfect kick to them. My burger was great but the meat tasted so odd to me, not in a bad way but it was certainly different. I'm not sure if they put something extra in it or not but it was an acquired taste in my opinion. I was very pleased with the amount of food each dish offered. This was the best meal we had today. We are in visiting from the states and went on a recommendation from yelp on affordable food. The microbrews were awesome, I had a sampler and I actually loved them all. We took our kids and it was fine atmosphere them (I was worried it would be a drinking place not a restaurant). Service was great, food was great and prices can't be beat. Loved it! Please note I give this a 5 star rating for the type of place it is. HOW HAS NOBODY HERE MENTIONED THE FLUORESCENT LIGHTS? Honestly. I just went here for the first time on a trip to Niagara Falls last week. I love my beer, especially brewpubs that brew their own and love to support local businesses, so after a night at Brasa Brazillian Steakhouse we took a cab all the way here to go drinking instead.. It was a very weird night, to quote another poster above. A very strange place. Basically, the place is pretty nice in the sense that its clean, modern, lots of stainless steel, open concept kitchen, and brews their own unique beers. The downside? Well let me just say I don't know which genius decided to install these blinding, bright white fluorscent lights right in your face but he really deserves a kick in the pants. The problem with this place I feel is the horrid lighting selections which are more like a prison cell than a comfortable place to sit, drink, eat, and socialize. They are so long and hanging so low that you feel like you're in permanent daytime, a horrible choice for people drinking pint after pint and it really starts to get annoying at about 1AM. It's baffling to me how they could have made that decision, it really has to be seen in person to believe it Other than that, at the bar there were some young 19 year olds who were being extremely loud and hopped up on blow because there was empty powder bags all over the washroom floor, but that doesn't bother me The other reviewers are dogging the beer, but I'd say they are being nitpicky as none of the beers I drank were bad or offensive. Some were certainly better than others, but I was very satisfied with their "Chuck Norris Roundhouse IPA". Fresh draught that is very hoppy, citrusy, and a crisp bitter finish makes it far better than anything you're getting at a different local bar. Food looked and sounded pretty decent, more upscale than regular pub fare, but some of it sounds weird too (their burger is pork and beef, theres no beef burger. It looked "grey" and unappetizing), but alot of the menu did sound good too. They closed the kitchen at 10PM and refused to serve a poor table next to us who was in there literally at 10:05... Service was abysmal, had to go the counter every single time to get our own pints even though he kept swearing he'd be by the table, but I wont blame him, he was the only guy working besides the cook Overall: Fix your friggin lights and keep the kitchen open later and I think this place could be much, much better. We ate here for our honeymoon six years ago and dreamed about eating here again. We can back a few weeks ago with my in-laws, and it was just as delicious as it was years ago. My father-in-law is a hamburger aficionado and swears it's the best burger he's had in a loooooong time. As I said in my caption, my mother-in-law absolutely loved her pulled pork chili. We were so happy we can back!! Thank God it's not a Chain Visited the Falls and I had been in a while. I didn't realize how infested with chain restaurants this area was. Now a breath of fresh air, TAPS! Went in on a Sunday night and it was dead, but who really cares. Sat at the bar and we received prompt service. We tried a couple of homemade brews and the beer was excellent. They were running a burger special that night half price and it was the best deal in the area. Grass fed 1/2 pound burger and it was delicious. We went to Taps last night after we got sick and tired of the tacky tourist traps in downtown Niagara Falls, ON (see another review of 'Kelsey's'--do NOT go there) in search of a change of scenery and some cool, nice quality beers. And we found a little gem right there! My dad and I seated ourselves at the bar and ordered the Charleston Lager/Pilsener and the local white wine. Both were great and the staff were super nice and knowledgeable. We were still digesting a terrible meal we had had earlier, so we didn't feel like eating at all, but after a couple next to us got their food, we changed our minds because it looked so good. We ordered the vegetarian poutine, and boy, it was good! My dad is from Germany, so he isn't used to this kinda food (i.e. lots of grease and everything deep-fried), but he really enjoyed it too. Finally, the card machine went down after we got there and the ATM that is located in the lobby of the brewery was out of money. However, the staff were super flexible if you didn't have cash, so we were able to pay at a later point. 5 stars all around!! Keep doing what you're doing! :-) read more

We found this restaurant while on vacation at Niagara Falls, and we're happy to escape the high tourist area. Great outdoor seating, good food and beer & awesome service. My brother in law and I visited Taps Brewing Company a few months ago when we were in Niagara Falls. We were staying at the Hilton Fallsview and walked down (approximately 3 miles). It is an easier walk if you walk along the water. Back to the brewery. We only had beers here, no food. The beers were outstanding. The IPA is the one that jumps out at me. Very friendly bartender, and knowledgeable. They also had a beer tower for approximately 30.00 that would discount your pints if you were drinking at least 6 beers in your group. I would definately go back here. The prices were reasonable, the beer was great, and you get to walk and see some of the less touristy parts of Niagara Falls. read more

Wednesday night is .22 cent wing night which normally it's $10 for a 1lb- however many that is lol. The sweet chile was really good and the hot tastes more like medium to us. Service was slow. Beer was good , and the food was ok. A band started around 8pm and were quite loud, so we moved to the patio. People were smoking outside the front door and smoke was blowing onto the patio and it really stunk. I had the pulled pork sandwich. As far as pulled pork sandwiches go I would rate it 3 out of 5. It has a nice sauce and slaw on it, the bun could have been better, and the pulled pork was quite fatty. The French fries were good. Not a bad place to go.
