After Explore Buffalo's Happy Hour Downtown Tour, we ended up here with a free drink ticket for each participant. To go with my beer, I ordered their fried sprouts. I'd first had these at taste of buffalo last year and was wow'd by them, so wanted to enjoy them again. I ordered the version with balsamic and goat cheese, and was not disappointed. This was our last stop of the day for a brewery tour of Buffalo, there were 4 breweries before this one so we were fairly beered out and just ordered food (I have had beers here before and they make some solid styles) Service was a bit slow but when we did place our order the food came out fast. We ordered chicken fingers and a roast beef on weck (Buffalo staple). The chicken tenders were very thin and more breading than chicken (definitely a frozen product). I stopped into Big Ditch Brewing Company before attending the NHL Draft conference, and I'm really glad I did! The beer selection here is fantastic with so many tempting choices. This time around I decided to go with the Limonado and the Yuzu Rice Lager, and both were excellent. The Limonado was especially memorable. It's packed with flavour, refreshing, and easily my favourite of the two. The food was great too. I ordered the Chicken Mac & Cheese, and not only was it delicious, but the portion size was huge for the price. Plenty of flavour, plenty of food, and exactly what I was looking for before a busy day. Service was another highlight. Justin was tending bar and was awesome to chat with. Friendly, welcoming, and helped make the visit even more enjoyable. Between the great beer, tasty food, generous portions, and excellent service, this place left a great impression on me. Stopped by for some drinks while in Buffalo, so I can't comment on the food but we enjoyed the beers. Hayburner had always been a favorite but I discovered Rocketmule which is even better and oh so smooth. The bartender was very friendly and let us try a small taste before we ordered a full glass. I also like a bar with an airy and light look which is what Big Ditch has going for it with the high ceilings and lots of windows. read more

I come here for brunch sometimes and service is always just ok. At least on our last trip I was able to order the first item I wanted. I just got the Ditchwitch breakfast sandwich with the chicken sausage. The fried egg was over cooked with crispy pieces of white and I got a piece of shell. So I had pieces of gross egg and the shell on the side of my plate. The hashbrowns must have been deep fried because they were amazingly crispy, but a little too salty. My mother got the biscuit sampler and enjoyed it. They could have been a little more generous with the sausage gravy in my opinion. My Mom counted 4 small chunks of sausage. They took the corned beef hash off the menu that my Mom got last time and it was delicious! If I'm in the area I might stop in, but overall I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. We got a post on facebook earlier today that Big Ditch has 75 cents wings on Mondays from 3- close, so we decided to have wings for dinner. We ordered 10 of the Hayburner wings, medium heat, and 10 of the Hot Honey wings. We liked them both, but liked the Hot Honey ones more. The wings are served with blu cheese and a few( very few) pieces of celery. Our waitress, Kelsey, was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu! We went on a very busy Saturday but we were seated right away! The place is very large lots of wood everywhere! The menu was pretty big with lots of sauce options for fries! I knew they have great beers at Big Ditch, but now I can add great wings! Earlier in the day a FB post reminded me of 75c wings on Mondays, so we decided to make that our dinner plan. Our waitress Kelsey was very friendly and sat down with us while taking our order. She also gave us some extra input of the wing choices. I started with a Kringle Juice, a very nice hazy Holiday IPA. Shortly after, our wings arrived; 1 order of mild Hayburner and 1 of Hot Honey. Both were very good. The hot honey are definitely my favorite, sticky but with a very tasty kick. Another excellent brewery discovered thanks to the WNY Craft Brew Tour Cards from Habitat for Humanity. I admit, I almost left before sitting down though - the place was absolutely packed with people, very loud, and it was a 30-minute wait for a table. After not too long I was able to snag a seat at the bar and I am very glad that I did. Beer first! I got a seasonal Cinnamon Apple Amber Ale - it is light and flavorful, a beer with almost cidery-notes and a lovely autumn vibe. I would happily get that one again, and there are several more on tap that I want to try. Flights of 5 beers are available for $15 (must get 5 different ones). The food menu has some interesting and creative options and I had a hard time choosing. I went with the poutine and added chopped steak. It's a bit on the saltier side but I think in a good way and it was great with the ale. Plus, the serving is huge! (I brought home leftovers and those vanished pretty quickly too). The people next to me got the tots and nachos, and both plates looked generous and delicious. It's a bit spendy but feels very much worth it here at least for what I saw. Ambiance - the bartenders and hostess were outstanding. Even with the place being very crowded, it was easy to get their attention and I felt well cared for. Restrooms are clean and easy to find with clear signage. There is a little gift shop by the front register / host station if you do brewery keepsakes, want a new hoodie, or want cans of beer to go. For the table seating, they ask for your cell number and text you when your table is ready (so bring your phone!). I was able to find street parking not too far away which is free after 5pm. Some tables have a decent view of the tv's, but the screens are kind of small and no closed captions. There are huge windows that are perfect for watching the weather and city. read more

Stop #2 on our wing tour of Buffalo and a bit of a sleeper. Definitely went here for the beer as a hayburner IPA(or 2) is a must every visit. One of my favorite IPAs in Buffalo, this place never disappoints. Had their FC Session IPA and does it better than founders All Day. Food was really good as well. read more

We also shared the Reuben which was good but the corned beef was a little on the tough side (hard to bite so it made for a messy sandwich) but the taste was very good. I have been a fan of big ditch IPA for 1 million years. I was very excited to be able to experience big ditch in person in downtown Buffalo. The beer selection was out of this world and the wings are $.75 on Mondays. How can you go wrong? We also devoured the pizza special which was equally as incredible. Came down here for a bite to eat during a meeting so service was dedicated to our party but past experience has always been spot on. Ordered the hot honey wings, they came quickly and were slathered with sauce and had a good crisp to them and quickly too I might add. The wings were A great balance of spicy/sweet and pretty decently sized too. Bleu cheese could have used a little more "chunk" to it imo. Came in here for dinner during the week after they hosted a Ride for Roswell fundraiser and it was really good! We got nachos which were huge! Also quite spicy, that sauce was a little too hot for me but I'm a wimp with spice. I got the beef on weck - delish. Matt got the stinger wrap which he liked a lot. Service was really good. Ambiance is good. Would def come back. I guess they might have a deal where you get a discount on game day if you are wearing Sabres gear so keep that in mind! Some great wings! I always recommend this place to flight attendants staying overnight in Buffalo. I've never had bad service here. I'm always greeted with a smile and food comes out hot. Service was fast and easy, as soon as we sat down someone greeted us and gave us menus. The beer was ok but they have a lot of IPA's and I'm not a fan of them. They only had one sour which was great bc it was a strawberry and it tasted delicious. My husband and I had the Nashville hot chicken pizza and it was okay but I'm not sure if I would order it again. It didn't have many pieces of chicken and they were large. I think it would have been better with smaller pieces being able to cover more of the pizza. Perfectly sauced, hot, and just the right amount of juicy meets crisp. The honey hot is a must, the sauce is insanely good. I also ordered the Brueben, which was tasty, taking most of it togo. I committed most of my empty stomach to the star of the show, the wings. The restaurant itself was very clean and inviting, with the bar being packed for game day. Need Beer? We stopped here on a Monday afternoon to grab some beer and a sandwich before heading to the Buffalo airport. I got a huge Reuben and a salad and it was tasty. $20. My husband got the shrimp poor boy. And it was a little sad looking not much shrimp and very small so I gave him some of my sandwich. The beer was very good We had the Red. My sister got the cheese curds and they were good fried hot and fresh. This brewery is located right down town in Buffalo. So you have to pay to park. I'm not a big fan of downtown areas but this was a great place to stop quickly before heading to the airport. This place is huge with an upstairs and extra little rooms for parties. The lady told us they have been around for over 8 year's looks like they're doing real well. If I'm ever back in Buffalo I'll stop in and say hello. read more
