Such a cool spot! Great selection of beer and the food was great. Peach Grilled Cheese was great and so was the steak sandwich!

Whipped feta app

We've been here a few times before. Never been disappointed. This time we ordered the 20 haze and the nut brown. Also ordered the whipped feta (so good) and the smash burger. Plenty of food for decently big eaters. The burger came with a ton of fries. The feta had hot honey and sliced scallions on top. We used the fries for the extra. You'll still have feta after you eat all your bread, so load it up! The beer here is really good and it's housed in an old church that used to be an antiques place. There's a patio out back that's open from April . 30 minutes from Buffalo NY.

First stop during our one-night stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We were looking for a family-friendly restaurant in-between our hotel in NOTL and St. Catherine's where we were planning to drop by Happy Rolph's Animal Farm. Their patio space fit the bill and we also lucked out with good weather. We ordered a bunch of items to share. Honestly, the menu was a bit tricky for small children and there wasn't really anything suitable for my 2.5 year old. We ordered the kid's chicken sandwich but it was too difficult (and large) to eat. Probably should have asked if they could do chicken tenders. The Cajun fries were also a bit spicy and we should have just order regular fries. The salads were probably the highlight. We got the Beet & Goat as well as the Garden Greens. Good portions, good acidity and refreshing. The seasonal flatbread was a little overcooked for my liking, but was good flavor-wise. The pretzel was well salted but the beer cheese dip was a bit bland. My Crispy Chicken Club main was good, albeit a bit messy. Overall decent food and good service. I would come back. The beer is excellent and I would probably upgrade the review if I didn't come with my kids.

5 Stars!!!

The food was excellent, the beer was fantastic, but both were out done by the exceptional service, not only for me, but my dog. If you're in the area, you have to stop they allowed me to eat and drink inside with my dog, but to be considerate of all those we went out to the back deck, which was perfect they brought out ice for her water

Norcini Classic Burger with a side of poutine

We came here for lunch in the middle of my birthday wine tour and it was so cool here! The brewery is in an old church which gives it such a rustic vibe. Our server was super friendly. The food itself was delicious! I got a burger with a side of poutine and it was amazing. I'm not normally a burger person, but this one was great. My fiance liked the beer so much that he got a couple of cans to go. Such a nice spot!

A cozy brewpub in the Niagara area. The regions famous for its wines but the brew making can't be overlooked either. This brew stop is in an old church with the interior largely intact complete with wood finishings and stained glass. Ample seating available with both bench tables and the bar. The beers are well done, clean and cover most classic styles. The black lager especially crisp and toasty on a winter afternoon. The wheat ale balanced and inoffensive with just a bit of banana and clove. A kitchen in the back serves up hearty sandwiches. Attentive service from really friendly staff.

Half & half braised beef and pulled pork poutine

Our waiter was super sweet and explained the beer choices thoroughly which helped with making my decision on what to order. All the beers were nice and worth trying. We were choosing between the braised beef or pulled pork poutine and he was sweet enough to get the chef to do half and half so we didn't have to decide, they were both really good but I prefer the pulled pork. The brewery is in an old church with pews as some of the seating, which I thought was an interesting setting.

Made a quick stop at this brewery! We loved it was in a church. The beers were really good, I suggest the Breakfast Wheat. I only wish they kept it looking more of a church but it was a good stop! You are able to even buy a beer for someone to redeem.

Silversmith Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada in July 2012. It was founded by friends Chris Pontsieon and Matt Swan. While on a rock climbing trip just outside of Las Vegas in 2005, the two walked into a Wholefoods to purchase some groceries and they discovered a huge selection of craft beer. They loaded up their cart with various Stouts, IPAs, Bitters, Porters, and Pilsners and soon they were obsessed with all things related to craft beer. By 2011 the friends were living in Niagara-on-the-Lake (known for its huge selection of wineries), but they realized that there wasn't a single brewery in town. They soon decided to open their own brewery and they found a home for it at the old St. John's Anglican Church (built in 1894) in the Virgil section of town. Silversmith Brewing opened their doors to the public on Canada Day in 2012. The current head brewer is Matthew McKeen. My wife and I visited Silversmith Brewing in April 2016. We were on a sightseeing trip to Niagara Falls for four days. Several people had told us to head north and check out Niagara-on-the-Lake for its huge winery scene, but we also heard that breweries were starting to pop up as well. We dedicated a day for visiting wineries and breweries and Silversmith Brewing was our first stop of the day. We really liked how the brewery was housed inside an old church. It still very much resembles a church from the outside, but then you walk inside and it's a really chill brewery taproom. They still retained a lot of the Anglican Church charm, including stained glass windows. We decided to split a beer flight of five samples including: "Breakfast Wheat" (Hefeweizen), "The Black Lager" (Schwarzbier), "Golden Ale", "Dam Buster" (ESB), and "Paulie Walnut" (English Brown Ale). The Golden Ale was our favorite and we purchased a bomber of it to take back home with us. We enjoyed our stay at Silversmith Brewing and definitely visit again the next time we're in the Niagara area.

The vibe of this place is awesome. A beautiful converted church with a lovely patio. The patio tables all have umbrellas for rain of sun cover. Their Black lager burger is unreal! 100% is a must to get. The beers are great as well! Lots of different unique flavours and all are great to try out. We ended up getting a few beers to go from them! One growler and a few cans to enjoy at home.

Service was prompt and friendly, and both the food and beer were delicious (loved the whipped feta and the halloumi sandwich!).

Great selection, service and ambience. Also learned a lot about local brewing, history, as well as international trade with the Canadiens.

The Grist - Philly Roll

The Grist

The setting for The Grist is incredibly adorable. It gives industrial chic in the best kind of way,…read moreso walking in is comforting and cozy but still sophisticated. The food was more of a 3.5, but I think it was truthfully just what I ordered. For me, the roll was just too greasy to begin and then when they add the Italian dressing it ended up being difficult for me to eat. That being said, it's a given that it would be a heavier dish, but I didn't expect it to be quite so heavy. I stole some fries from my dining partner, and they were yummy. And if you couldn't tell, the pretzel was great (I took a bite before I took a picture. Whoops.) I do believe if I ordered something different (and the menu is quite extensive) I would likely have a better experience with the food, so I'd definitely come back. There were a few times it was difficult to get the attention of our waitress, but it was very busy on the day we were there. All in all not a bad experience, but not a stand out either.

My wife and I have been to a LOT of breweries, so it honestly takes something special to wow us…read morenow... and Grist absolutely did. We both grabbed flights, and while everything was solid, there were four beers that totally stood out: * Horchata Wit - creamy, spiced, super smooth * London Fog - light, unique, full of flavour * Cantarito Sour Ale - bright, citrusy, refreshing * Smoke'd Scottish Ale - the most unique beer we've tried in a long time It's rare for a brewery to hit this many home runs in one visit. For our appetizer, we got the Baked Brie-zza, and wow... dangerous. The dough (pretty sure it's house-made) is incredible, and the Brie adds so much creaminess while the fig compote and hot honey round it all out. Just so flavourful and sooo tasty. For mains: * I ordered the Baked Chicken Parm Ziti -- nice and cheesy, chicken cooked well. Noodles were slightly overcooked but I still enjoyed it. * My wife had the Smoked Tuna Tacos, loved them, and powered through the serious spice level Our friends enjoyed their meals and drinks too. And we're 100% coming back. The menu was super appealing and the pizza looked unbelievable -- easily something we need to try next time along with a few other dishes we had our eyes on. Overall? A fantastic experience. Great food, great beer, and easily some of the most memorable flavours we've had in a long time. Interior is decorated nice too, really cool and clean vibes!
