I was very disappointed with my experience at Buffalo Olde Brewery. Let me start by saying that the service was outstanding and the beer garden area is top level. However that's where my praise ends. I ordered the West Coast IPA which was okay but not great. The food was not good at all. I ordered the Beef on Weck which was one of the worst I have ever had in Buffalo. The roast beef was dry and had no flavor. All the salt and what few Kimmewick seeds were on the roll fell off at the first bite. The fries were clearly frozen. This is a hidden gem with a wonderful courtyard . The friendly bar service is top notch along with a comfortable setting whesther you sit i side or outside. Weekends have live music at an outdoor stage to enjoy from tables or lounging on a couch. One building houses the brewery and a lot of photos of Buffalo's brewing history. We sampled several beers and really the quality of them. Inside another building is a bar at street side and the rest of the building has a 2 level dining room with an open second floor . I was asked to join a friend to meet at Buffalo Olde Brewery to watch a podcast being recorded in the beer garden outdoors. This is a really nice place, and the first time I've eaten outside. The weather was very comfortable and they had a nice crowd. They have many beer choices, and two of them we tried, one a lager and the other more of a hazy color were both excellent. But the highlight was the food we ordered. They have a "Beast" burger that combines waygu, elk and bison, topped with a bacon mayo. It was absolutely delicious. When I go back, I'm not going to hesitate. I shared this one, but next time I will eat the whole thing myself. It was really cooked to perfection at the medium rare requested. The burger comes with shoestring fries that were also cooked perfectly and much to my pleasant surprise, almost no salt at all. So many places just overdo it with the sodium, but not this place. Great job. We also ordered a small plate of 5 wings, and they were cooked just the way we like them. We will be back. read more

This was another discovery thanks to the WNY Craft Brew Tour Cards from Habitat for Humanity. I have both pros and cons for my visit here which even out to a solid "Okay". Parking is on the street and I found a spot easily. The front door, not so much. Fourth time is the charm? There are several doors at the front of the building and it isn't any of those. A sign on the sidewalk points down an alleyway (well-lit with pretty lights) and the door is the unmarked one halfway down the alley. I still wasn't sure upon walking in that I was in the right place but fortunately someone greeted me pretty quickly. Menus are QR-code-only so cell phones are a requirement here. (Also... the QR code didn't work and I had to ask for help - basically just go to their website and look up the menu). The menu is on the boring side and fairly small. This is not the place for foodies looking for a unique flavor experience. That being said, my fancy grilled cheese was delicious. I had the "You're Not The Boss Of Me" Hefeweizen. It's decent, not the best I've had, but I was happy with it. (I mean, all Hefes are good, right?) Ambiance: Most seating can see the huge TVs. HUGE TVs. No closed captions (at least not when I was there). Music was a good selection and at a reasonable volume to still have conversations; it's in the background as it should be. Would love to see WNBA games here but they didn't get the right channel (although I really appreciated that they checked for me!). Staff was great - both my server and a person I assume is the manager were friendly and helpful during my whole visit. I went on a weekday evening and it was very quiet, only a few other customers. I sat indoors, because I did not discover the outdoor patio area when I first arrived - it is large and very cool. If I go back I would probably sit outside. read more

Haven't been there in two years but will return more often! I grew up in the Lovejoy area so nice to see new life returning! The place is a nice mix old and new modern ! I had the Bob stuffed burger which was a uniquely blended burger of Bison, wagyu, New Zealand Elk,and wild Boar topped with pickled red onions,Gouda and house made bacon mayo with fries on the side!, WOW !!! What an Amazing mix I never saw before! The wagyu gave the other meats which are on the leaner dryer side an awesome juicy, delectable taste!!! Absolutely loved it! The wife had the Beef on wick, it was awesome too!! Plenty of very lean tender piled high delicious beef! It also came with fries that were cooked perfectly crispy! I have gone to Buffalo Olde Brewery (1221 East Lovejoy St, Buffalo NY 14206) on multiple occasions this year to listen to music for the Buffalo Music Coalition's Summer Sessions. There is a beautiful outdoor patio and the food is great. The problem is the service. It doesn't matter if you order outside with the staff or inside at the bar, it is slow. Very slow! Another issue is each time I have gone, they have run out of clean glasses which they say is delaying the drink orders. My observation has been the staff does not pick up the empty glasses when new drinks are brought out. Therefore, causing a depleted supply of clean glasses. We're outside on the patio - just serve the beers in plastic disposable glasses until you get caught up. The place is so wonderful and bringing back life into the neighborhood, please correct your service issue ASAP. read more

The new server is the reason for the stars. It was her first night waitressing and she was great. The place was very dead on a Sunday evening @6pm. There was only one other group of four in the dining room. The manager that ( always wears a suit) was not friendly WhATSoEver. In fact, he started to bring out our food. He went up to the table next to us ( Who VEErrY clearly had their food) already. So I quickly waved a little and announced that it was our table. Clearly noticing my turkey wrap an arms distance away. He literally did not believe me I suppose, since the Manager ignored me a second time and turned walking the food back into kitchen. AWKWARD There was no one else in the restaurant besides the table that had their food, and our table of four. He read back on kitchen note, that it was indeed ours. Manager never apologized or said anything like "Sorry about that", he just looked at us like a deer in headlights while delivering our food. My Grandmother said wow ," not friendly for a manager, that is not good for business!" Also for the food. Since we are Buffalonians and WINGS are on the menu It should be a sin to Serve RANCH! I arrived just as dining was kicking off and was immediately greeted by the staff, grabbed a seat at the bar and put in an order for some wings a cold pint of the Lovejoy lager, which really hit the spot. Frosty cold and light on flavor. The food came out quick and immediately I had the scent of those wings hitting my nose as the plate was placed in front of me. They were of average size but perfectly sauced and cooked. Most times I struggle to put a single order of 10 down. These were a breeze. Ive had wings all over the city and I'm going to say that these deserve an honorable mention. The bleu cheese was "ok" just a little light on flavor for my liking. Not our 1st visit & never disappointed! This brewery/restaurant has it all- good food, good drinks great staff (Kathy & Pam at this visit)! Due to air quality issues & rain, the beer garden wasn't occupied, but its a beauty! There was a bridal shower happening on the 2nd floor, various patrons on the 1st floor. We had books our ladies auxiliary Christmas party for here way in advance.We started out with appetizers I took the Pierogi. It was two potato and cheddar cheese.Not a big fan of the combination and they were very greasy,plus it took forty minutes to get them.They had no coffee brewed so that took another half hour to get a cup.Then my choice of entee the fishy fry took another forty five minutes. Again it was also very greasy ,came with fries, potato salad and coleslaw slaw.When it came to my favorite part of the night, the desserts we were informed by the waiter that they ran out.How do you run out knowing you had fourteen people booked? This was the venue for fourteen ladies aux members for our Christmas party. I started out with the potato and cheddar cheese two pierogis. The food took forever to come , like forty minutes and it seemed over cooked and very greasy. When I asked for a cup of coffee, I was told that none was made and it had to be brewed.That took a half hour.My fish fry took another forty minutes. It was a huge piece of fish,over cooked and kinda hard.It came with fres, potato salad and slaw.They had two desserts listed on the menu, and I was looking forward to this part of the dining experience. We had such a great experience here last night! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Charlie, who kindly helped us find our group. The staff was incredibly accommodating and made the whole night feel easy and enjoyable. Cool historic space in Lovejoy. I've heard about this spot and was finally able to stop in. First of all the front bar is original and has been preserved and restored but still feels unique and vintage. Behind that is indoor seating for dining and it's gorgeous! I love that this spot is inside of a house within a neighborhood. It feels so different yet perfectly placed within the area. They also have a huge outdoor patio with a great mural and spot for music in warmer weather. The staff here was so welcoming and helpful with menu questions. Lots of good drink options. Service was awesome our waitress/bartender was so sweet and very helpful on anything we asked questions on or needed. The bar wasn't busy at all but it was a Wednesday night. We decided to try this place out because it is on the New York beer trail. I was very happy to have stopped here and try it out because it didn't disappoint. I did have a couple suggestions on food how it could have been a little better but I definitely want to go back to try some more. I stopped by this evening with my dog. We waited eighteen minutes and didn't get service. There was plenty of staff. Maybe they're afraid of dogs. My dog is a super friendly. Don't think I'll be back. Update: my neighbor and I went there yesterday 8/31 to see my favorite local band. Same poor service!!! We waited so long for a beer! Buffalo Olde Brewery has a beautiful space! Inside, there's a bar area at the front of the building that includes historic framed photos and news articles about the space. There's also two levels of seating to dine in, and a small gift shop upstairs with mugs, pint glasses, and more. Although we came in November, we saw that they have a spacious outdoor area behind the building, so I'd love to come back in the summer! I came on a brew tour so I didn't have any food, just the Pumpkinheimer beer which was absolutely delicious! They also fill growlers and crowlers, so I got a crowler of the Pumpkinheimer to go and appreciated it had a cap. In addition to great beers on tap, they also have several bottles of wines in a wine preservation system, as well as cocktails. Really great atmosphere and service here! Our bartender was attentive, friendly, and got our drinks quickly. I'd love to come back for food one day since their menu looked fantastic! read more

The olde brewery opened somewhere in the beginning of 2023. The facade still looks like the facade from a century ago. The inside is a mix of the old looks and a modern design. Just check the pictures on the wall from pre-prohibition. They have a big patio in the back with live music in the summer months. There is also a big upstairs room for private parties. I was there with a number of friends and the manager, Thomas, offered us a short tour to the brewery in the building right next door. The freshly brewed beer goes into storage tanks and then strait to the taps. No kegs, just pipe lines. At the moment parking in the area is a bit of a problem, but they are working on that. We visited this evening as they were in our WNY Beer Trail pass. The ambience is very nice, the food was very good, and the beers and margaritas were delicious. The happy hour specials were really affordable. Sports are televised in the dining room. The bar is beautiful with really nice furniture. Kathy, one of the servers, is a great historian about the restaurant and the neighborhood. She was delightful and interesting. The staff there was very friendly. I travel to the area a lot for work and am always looking for new things to try. I came across this spot, and considering Tuesday nights are usually pretty quiet, I was glad to see they were open. We came in at dinner and it was pretty quiet, not a lot of customers. We sat on the patio which is FANTASTIC. So pretty, clean, and adorable. Even being outside, we had a great server all night. Austin is great at what he does! He was helpful, kind, and patient with us all night. I had a ceaser salad with chicken which was so delicious and then the peanut butter cake for dinner which WOAH. The pierogis are a MUST - stuffed full of potato and so flavorful. I also had their sour beer which was super tasty (if you like sours!). We had a great dinner tonight here. I had the burger- so delicious! The cheese on top was so yummy! Other members of our party had the turkey wrap and beef on week and both enjoyed. The fries were good! There was an issue with one meal and the waitress and kitchen went above and beyond to make it right. We also enjoyed our cocktails- delicious! Just note they are a bit on the expensive side (-$15), but I do feel like most restaurants have cocktails at that price. Just didn't match the price of the food- food was very reasonably priced!
