I looked at the dinner menu and it said fish served all day everyday, I brought that to her attention and she said yeah you can get fish. So that was a big negative! I do like the option of an everyday fish fry, but I was disappointed. Finally got to experience the famous "best fish fry". First off the staff was super nice. I sat at the bar, enjoyed a few beers and ordered some food to go. They were busy. So busy the parking lot was full and had to park on a side street. I feel like because I ordered to go, that my ordered was pushed down and the in house orders got done first. Some others ordered from the bar and ate it there, came in after me but got there food before me. It took over 45 minutes for me to get my food. Again, I was enjoying a drink, but felt that was slow. I ordered the fish fry, you get a choice of potato, and comes with macaroni salad and slaw. Well, I didn't get the slaw or macaroni salad(should of checked my food before leaving) For my potato I went with the German potato salad, which was delicious! The fish, was just average to me. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Was battered and fried well, but lacked seasoning. I had to add salt and pepper. Also tried the Cajun chicken wrap with tater tots. It was fine. We ordered our fish fries on the early side (around 4 PM on a Friday), and were given a pickup estimate of 30-45 minutes, which was perfect. I'd highly recommend ordering before 5, if you're able. The fish fries were excellent. Even though we got takeout, they held up and remained super crispy and hot. The fish came with rye bread, french fries, macaroni salad, and coleslaw. A pretty stacked dinner, if you ask me. I loved the mac salad just as much as the fish. I'd love to dine in here sometime, but our takeout experience was really great. We both ordered it medium rare and both received medium well, cool to the touch pieces of meat. They appeared to have been reheated, and due to the complete lack of marbling I would guess closer to a bottom round sirloin than anything as nice as a Del Monaco. It came on a half of garlic bread sub roll with potato chips and a cup of soup. Our server, as lovely as she was, payed so little attention to us, that I had to go the bar to get a drink refill. We quite literally were the only table in the entire restaurant and there was only one customer at the bar. Atmosphere: very nice, cozy place, TV's on, country music playing low in the background. Service: very good, greeted as we entered and the waitress was super nice and friendly. Food: the food tasted very good, I had the special dibble which was a mushroom Swiss burger dibble and my wife had the original (no meat). My biggest complaint and the only reason why I gave a 3-star rating was the sandwich was very messy which is a huge pet peeve of mine. When you put 2 stuffed banana peppers on top of a mushroom Swiss burger that's sitting on a roll that is clearly too small to accommodate all that, the second you bite into it everything falls off. I LOVE all the sides of a meal sometimes even more than the main entree. Let me just say that I was BLOWN AWAY by how delicious the coleslaw and macaroni salad was. I'm not sure if they are homemade, but by tasting them they HAVE to be. I had to stop myself from eating both of the cartons! The baked potato was also extremely flavorful if you can believe that for a baked potato. The fish was cooked very well, and had good seasoning, could have used a little more salt for me but wasn't bland by any means. But recently during Lenten season, when my husband had a hankering for a proper WNY bear-battered fish fry, we headed back in to Curry's. Curry's is likely going to be busy every night of the week during Lent. We went on a Wednesday, and had to wait almost 40 minutes for a two-top. Even so, the wait was worth it. FYI that Curry's does take reservations, which I was glad to learn. For our next visit we called ahead, and got right in when we arrived. Whether you wait or not, the fish fry is worth it. It is a huge, gluttonous fish fry, with a big ole' hunk of beer battered haddock that hangs off the ends of a large oval plate. It comes resting on top of three generous sides: a potato of choice, coleslaw, and macaroni salad, plus bread. This mega fish fry platter is definitely no slouch! And the verdict on the taste and quality of the fish fry platter from the hubbs?? ... DELISH!! The fish is crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside, with a nice snap when you break into it. The sides are all yummy too, with the coleslaw being the fave on the plate, a sweet and creamy slaw with a good crunch. Recently we also headed back to Curry's on St. Patrick's Day for their seasonal corned beef platter. We saw a few coming of them out of the kitchen when there for the fish, and my husband demanded we return for the beef. Again, an excellent and bountiful meal. The corned beef was juicy and tender and piled high, with steamed cabbage, salt potatoes and steamed carrots underneath. Served with soda bread, and some spicy mustard, it was all another big hit with my meat-eating hubbs. As for me, I no longer eat meat. As a vegetarian, I come to Curry's for the Dibbles. Dibbles are what they call their stuffed banana peppers. The Dibbles Pasta is decadent and addicting. It is a pasta of choice (penne or angel hair) doused in a creamy cheesy sauce with a hint of heat, and topped with a couple of good-sized tender slightly-spicy stuffed Dibbles. It is a carbo-loaded-calorie-loaded-meat-free indulgence that is delectably delightful! On top of all the great eats we've enjoyed at Curry's, the staff is really noteworthy. They do a wonderful job of attentive service, and making you feel like a friend. It is truly a 'Cheers'-esque, where-everybody-knows-your-name kind of place. Literally. On our second visit, our sweet waitress Jackie asked our names, and we were on a first-name basis from there on out. Beyond the food, there is a reason it is packed nightly at Curry's--Jackie and the great staff have a lot to do with that. Curry's continues to be one of our favorite casual dining places in the 716. It feels like you're walking into a warm and inviting wood-paneled vintage dining room from the 80s. The staff are like your favorite aunts and uncles, ready to greet you with a smile and some witty banter. And you are not leaving hungry. The food is delicious and abundant, and completely satisfying. Head into Curry's to see for yourself, where they'll undoubtedly be glad you came. ;-) read more

This is my first visit to Curry's. I've driven by it about 2 million times, but have never stopped in. My friend Suzy & I decided to go there for lunch today. I was originally going to Get a Roast Beef on Weck, cause I LOVE those !!!! But, she was getting a Steak Souvlaki & that sounded really good, so I got one as well. It took awhile for the food to come out. The woman brought us 2 little cups of salad dressing for what I think ,was a pretty nice sized salad. (It's no Kostas though) The dressing didn't really taste like Greek dressing. It was ok, but not what the souvlaki needed. The woman seemed like she was anxious for us to leave. Idk for sure if she was or not, but she brought us containers before we were even 1/2 way done eating. After that, we decided to get dessert. We both wanted everything the waitress/bartender named off, but decided to split the peanut butter pie & the lemon cake. They were both Delicious !!! We tried coming here last week for a lenten fish fry after we saw how well they were rated locally, but we didn't have reservations, and the wait was 1-1.5 hrs so we passed and came back with reservations for this week - and, man, am I glad that we did!! Delicious, huge beer battered fish fry with some wonderful sides. I was particularly fond of the mac salad! Fresh and excellent! Dessert? It was very easy to order over the phone and the gentleman taking my order was super friendly and helpful with questions! The order was ready right at the time we were given which was nice since it was a Friday at dinner time. The fish was a little greasy but I blame that on getting take out (about a 25 min drive home), the sides were good and portions were HUGE! Side note: baked potato is an option as a side with the fish fry. The dibble (their signature sub with a stuff pepper on garlic roll and added chicken finger) was not good.
