Had a good experience at this restaurant overall. We were seated right away at the first floor on a Sunday evening. The first floor is casual dining, second is fine dining, and rooftop is bar only (kinda sad we couldn't eat on the rooftop). The atmosphere was great -- not too loud and baby/stroller-friendly. Portions were great for the prices. Would highly recommend the Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza and Bourbonzola burger (pizza was big for one person!). The waitstaff was kind, helpful, and gave us fast service. The only negative was the general location of the restaurant and look of the building. It seemed sort of industrial, even though the inside was far from that. A bit out of the way and close to a couple other buildings that hurt the ambiance in my opinion. Good experience! Came here for a work lunch. Was on the nicer side so we opted to eat outside. Which I forgot just how much I hate out door seating as the bees were awful. The space is very nice large. Believe two or three floors. The staff was very nice. The food was just okay to me. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it. Nothing said wow. But again nothing was bad. If I lived in the area I'm sure I would frequent the bar area and grab a bite. If this makes sense it gave me more bar food restaurant vs like a food food restaurant? Come have a beer or two grab a bite and go. But for lunch and dinner, would not be my first choice to go to. But I had the jerk chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The chicken had some flavor and little heat, but my chicken was way smaller than my bun so I had more bread than meat. The table got a salad and burger and fries. It was it was a half pound burger but it definitely didn't look like that. I also ordered two wood fire pizzas to go. A regular with sausage and their hot honey pizza. These were actually decent! The service was wonderful. Our young waitress was polite, attentive, and on top of everything throughout our visit. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the hostess was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Bourbon BBQ Burger, cooked medium-well, and it was absolutely delicious. Honestly, it was one of the best burgers I've had in months. My only hesitation was the price--$23 for a hamburger is a little steep. I also ordered an Old Fashioned, which was very well made and tasted great. However, I was a little disappointed that it was served in a plastic cup. I understand we were sitting outside, but since it was during the afternoon and the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, I would have preferred it in a proper glass. Grabbed dinner downstairs, the waitress was friendly and the beers were good but that's about it. It was extremely loud and couldn't hear each other at all, I ordered a Ceasar salad with shrimp. The shrimp was terrible, not seasoned or seared, don't add in shrimp! The salad was fine otherwise. The burger was the special the Vermont farmhouse melt ordered medium which came really well done. I went here with a large party - a mix of adults and children. Our waitress was great. The food I had was fantastic along with my drink. I had the Watermelon Harbor with Tequila for my drink. I had the lobster burger with lobster bisque (delicious) and the Blackberry Chicken salad. The chicken in the salad was pretty dry but I still enjoyed my salad. Ended up here two nights in a row for dinner with opposite sides of my boyfriend's family. First night was on the first floor with more casual atmosphere and food choices. The boyfriend got a pizza that he liked and I got the Greek chicken bowl that was decent, but the chicken wasn't a very generous portion. Night number two was upstairs on the second floor. The menu contains many seafood appetizers and entrees and neither of us eat seafood. I went with the Tuscan Steak Pasta, which came with five ounces of steak cut into smaller pieces and pasta. I found the pasta to be quite bland and actually added salt and pepper. I did not finish the pasta or take it home because it was also a little over cooked. My boyfriend got the twelve ounce strip steak that came with green beans and he substituted the fries for mashed potatoes. While it was decent this meal was VERY expensive. I would not dine on the second floor again. It's just not worth the price. I was very appreciative that the server told us that our gratuity was included for our party of eight. Not every server does and that was very professional of her. We did end up on the rooftop after dinner for a few more drinks. It was a nice atmosphere with a DJ. We had a great time at Johnson's landing! We went to the upper part of the restaurant for our anniversary and got to enjoy a beautiful view of the lake as well as delicious food. Our server was very attentive to us as well as all of her tables, the atmosphere was very comfortable and over all it was a wonderful experience. I mean I get I ate them but from someone who's been in the industry for 10 years. Do not offer a guest something and then not communicate that they'd be charged. If that was the case I wouldn't have kept them.. more so on management... they should've just let me eat them as they would've went in the trash anyways AND my dish was sooo disappointing. Had my birthday brunch here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience as did my guests. Everyone ordered different things of course, and I ended up going for the breakfast pizza ($20) which was delicious and had some for leftovers too! The pizza had bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and other things on there as well. I also had a cocktail, but I can't remember what it was called, but I know it had a peach ring on top and our server was really nice and brought me some extra peach rings in a glass to enjoy. I really enjoyed the vibe of the space and we were able to all be together outside on their covered patio where you could almost catch peels of the lake across the road. Chicken was marinated well and that is all I can say for it. Way too much jerk seasoning, fries under cooked and over salted and finally mayo was put on sandwich. Johnson's landing is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Buffalo during the summer months! They have 3 levels of different dining experiences so there's something for everyone! From your average pub restaurant on the first floor, to your fancier restaurant on the second and a rooftop bar on the 3rd overlooking the gorgeous Buffalo sunsets and view of Lake Erie! I have been here 3 times and I have never been disappointed! The food is outstanding! I come here with friends whenever there is an occasion where we have a large group because it's perfect for grabbing drinks and seeing the beautiful lake view. This was my first time here and I'm certainly looking forward to coming back in the summer! Ambiance was great- 5/5 on that due to the views on the 2nd floor. It was a very "fancy" environment with cloth napkins, candles, etc. this would be very nice for a date night ! Food was also pretty good so 5/5 on this as well. They serve you bread with butter AND dipping oil which was pure perfection. The bread was crunchy out the outside and soft in the inside and had a great texture with every bite! Service was slow here and I'm not sure if it was a due to being a busy Friday night but I had to call the waitress over a few different times for drink refills. Had a good experience. The food was very good. I didn't take pics because I was with another couple but we all agreed the food was good. The crab cakes had a pineapple salsa on top which gave the appetizer a sweet and salty and a slight citrus taste. My chicken Milanese was amazing. I enjoyed every bite! The venue itself is of course still very new, clean and modern. That can often mean high noise levels as others have noted, modern restaurant construction seems to put acoustics at the bottom of the priority list. That said, I did not find it overly loud, just loud enough where you had to raise your voice slightly. Enough about that. Johnson's Landing has a Lenten fish fry special, $20 for a full fish fry with sides, and this includes one of their specialty beers. This is a good deal to get a craft beer included with your fish fry. I actually ordered it to go and enjoyed the beer while waiting for the fish to take out. It was a very solid fish dinner, the batter was crispy, not oily. The fish was fresh, all of the sides were good, even the rye bread was a nice hearty thick cut of rye. The mac salad featured tuna, which I do like. And the fries were hot and tasty. The fish itself was not huge but was big enough for us. Every component of the fish fry dinner was on point. The barmaid was efficient and friendly, I did not have to wait. My only complaint is that they do not list beer prices on their menu, which was fine this time since it was included with the meal, but would prevent me from enjoying a stop on the way home for a beer or two. I think it is a sneaky practice, but strangely I do note prices on their website, and guess what? All draft beers are $8 including Labatt Blue Light, unless the website is now outdated. ($8 for Labatt's!! Holy Moly!) I can see why it is not on the printed menu. I really don't like when there is not full price transparency, thus four stars instead of five. However I wholeheartedly endorse the value and quality of the Lenten fish fry special. read more

Though they couldn't seat us at a table, they were able to serve us at the bar on the top floor. The view was spectacular, and the service was quite prompt and friendly. We were pleased with the selection on the menu. The Caesar salads with salmon were excellent. We also enjoyed the grilled peaches & burrata; however it needed more peaches and less arugula, but that is my only complaint. We have come here twice now, both times we started with a drink on the rooftop bar and then moved down to the first floor patio for dinner. We love rooftop patio so much we brought both of our families here! The food is good, but nothing out of this world. We had reservation on June 20th and spent around $400 on apps, drinks, soups, salads, and entrées & desserts. The service was great, but the food--especially the entrées--was very disappointing. The mushroom bolognese was heavily over-seasoned with herbs to the point it had to be sent back. The pork chop was actually the only entrée at the table that was good. Ordered the 14 oz ribeye and it was a major letdown--tough, chewy, and oddly thin for a ribeye. It also came with what looked like frozen diner-style home fries, which did not match a $52 steak at all. My family and I waited 20 minutes at our table without anyone acknowledging us. We didn't receive water, menus explained, or any kind of service, while the tables around us were continuously being attended to. Eventually, I went to the hostess stand to let them know we still hadn't been helped. I saw her speak to a group of waiters, yet another 5-7 minutes passed with no one coming to our table. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of urgency or concern for a family that had been sitting there waiting the entire time. I can't say for certain it was racially motivated, but we were the only Black family there while everyone else around us seemed to receive constant service and attention. As a business owner, I understand situations happen, but this was handled terribly from start to finish. We waited over a half hour only to find out they didn't have the ingredients for the meals we ordered. First it was the appetizer, then after waiting even longer it was the main lunches too. The problem wasn't being out of ingredients -- it was the lack of communication, leadership, and basic customer service. What made the experience worse was the manager. Instead of coming to the table, apologizing, or trying to fix the situation, he sat near the entrance on his computer acting like he was too important to deal with customers. Meanwhile staff looked lost and customers were left waiting with no answers. As an owner myself, watching a manager wander around, avoid customers, and put zero effort into resolving an issue is frustrating to see. It honestly looked more like someone wasting ownership's payroll than actually managing a restaurant. Completely disappointing experience and very poorly run that day. read more

There were 6 couples, 1 fam of 4(adults), 4 singles and 2 kids. If you didn't have cash (which most people don't carry anymore) then they split the bill EVENLY among all the cards. Someone who had a bowl of soup and a water paid the same amount as a couple or a family who had a meal and drinks. It's exciting that after a long wait Johnson's Landing finally opened at the end of this past summer. It's a gorgeous, modern and sleek new building that overlooks the lake. It has several floors/ spaces each with slightly different vibe making this the perfect spot to grab drinks, have dinner or host a private event. The first floor has an upscale bar food menu and the second floor has the same items as well as a few more upscale entrees. Both floors have ample amounts of seating and pretty big bar space. There are also outdoor patio areas to enjoy the outdoors and see the lake when the weather is nice. I've been here 2 times. Both have been very good. The first time was right when they opened. We had a reservation on the first floor but there was still a long wait. While we waited we were able to skip the line at the bar and use their self service pour station. This was pretty neat. You had your own QR code and could pour your own beer, wine or cocktail. It made splitting the check very easy too! This time I had a salad with shrimp, it was ok but the shrimp weren't cooked all the way. Our server was very kind and fixed it for me right away so i don't see it as an issue. The second time we were upstairs and it did have a more date night vibe. This time i had the stuffed filet of sole with shrimp and rice. It was perfect and was a large enough portion I had some for lunch the next day. Stop by and check this place out when you are in the area. read more
