The server never came back to ask how the food was and I had to go to the bar to ask for my own refill. Maybe it's not a sit down place even though there are tables? Nachos felt like I made them as a broke college student. Beef didn't seem seasoned and they seemed to have no heart. If it wasn't for the queso cheese I'd have skipped them. The mozzarella stick were decent. The wings were great though. They came out crispy with good medium heat. This was our first stop on a Buffalo pub crawl, and it did not disappoint. They had just opened on a rainy afternoon, and the bartenders could not have been friendlier. We had a few drinks and promised to come back to try the food at the end of our expedition. We returned that night, and the place was hopping. We were recruited to play trivia (came in 4th!), watched hoops & hockey playoffs, and had a blast. The wings were better than average, and the burgers solid. This is a great bar to gather together and catch up with friends or watch sports. The bar itself is huge and wraps around the entire place. There is a lot of bar height seating too. Grab a table and if it's not super busy a server will come to you- if it's pretty crazy like during a game, just order at the bar. Decent selection of draft beers and bucket specials. The only real positive thing I have to say is that it was karaoke night and we had fun because of that. BUT the food was sub par .. fries came out cold and they told us they would put it back in the oven for us to warm it up and this was during normal "dinner" hours, drinks were decent like any other place. But what really ruined our night was when we were severely over charged. I was out with a friend group from work and there was 5 of us and a 6th later in the evening. When I went to close my tab I was never shown my receipt before my card was charged and when they gave it to me and we noticed the error right away the bartender refused to fix it saying "he's too busy" and to call in the morning to talk to the manager. So I did and got absolutely no where. Was told I would get a call back that day being he was the only one there at the time. Days later never received a call back. Needless to say that was never dealt with and had to dispute it with my bank, which got denied. I feel this was very unprofessional and handled poorly. I came here two nights ago after a race with a close friend. The drink I had was okay. The nachos were on a small plate. For the price, you would think that you'd get more of a heaping serving. The outside door was neat and they had nice decor but neither bartender was too interested in helping us right away or excited about taking our order. Stopped in to see some live music a while back and tried a little bit of the bar food and I gotta give them props for their wings. The quesadilla I also had was pretty average, but I enjoyed it. Can't tell you too much about their drink menu since I didn't imbibe, but the place had a neighborhood bar feel and had a nice enclosed patio as well, which I imagine is open in the winter. Their wings come in a multitude of flavors and are thrown on the grill after being deep fried for some extra delicious crispiness. The extra grilling of these babies after frying 'em up really adds to it. Highly recommended. Once upon a time, they had the best turkey club I've ever eaten. Then, it sadly went off the menu. Well, it's baaaack. I was really craving a good club on Friday and we were trying to avoid they typical restaurant scene because it's Lent and we wanted to stay away from the fish fry crowd. I happened to check the Thirsty Buffalo menu online and saw the club was there once again. We were on our way! We arrived around 8 and the place was pretty busy. There were a couple other tables ordering food. I have to give the waitress props. I think she was serving the entire floor, but was extremely pleasant and responsive to everything we asked. My club was amazing. My boyfriend had the philly cheese steak and my friend had the chicken bacon ranch wrap. Both were deemed delicious. At $10/sandwich and chips included, it is a great price for the quantity of food you receive. We also ordered pizza logs. I do think these are overpriced ($8 for 4). They were good though. I deducted a star because my boyfriend and I both asked for mayo on the side of our sandwiches (we like to split and I don't like mayo) and the kitchen forgot and put it on both sandwiches. My boyfriend didn't care and kept his sandwich, but I asked for new bread. My sandwich took a few more minutes to come out and by that time, everyone else was almost done eating. read more

I've been going to Thirsty Buffalo the past couple of Sundays to partake in trivia and I order drinks with the occasional order of chicken wings. The wings at Thirsty Buffalo are pretty good - there are better in Buffalo but if you're looking for a bar to watch the Bills games at and grab some food, Thirsty Buffalo is good for that. They have a variety of sauces, I usually get the Jameson BBQ but I hear the Cheddar Bacon is good too. They're reasonably priced and delivered in a reasonable time. I make it a point to stay away from Thirsty on Friday and Saturday nights simply because it's way, way, way too crowded for me. If you're into Live DJs and [drunken] crowds then it might be for you. I'm looking forward to trying the bottomless mimosas and bloody marys with brunch sometime in the near future. read more

I am a fan of the Thirsty Buffalo! The bar is large (for the area), clean, and they always have a great beer list. I've stopped in and had a couple of meals here and from brunch to dinner, it has always been very solid. It's also a good spot to come in and watch a game or throw as few darts in the back room. If you've read my 500th Buffalo review, then you know that this place should be renamed "Thirsty Bison". After all, what father doesn't want a thirsty Bison? I'd rather go to the Thirsty Buffalo than the Kirsty Buffalo, which is the name written in my little black book of a local woman I knew when I was 17 (whose last name I was never told), whose husband (that I didn't know existed until after we stopped seeing each other), said he would shoot me on sight if he ever saw me again. I hope the offer is not still standing. The reason I added the "Buffalo" to her name is because I wanted to differentiate between her and every other Kirsty I know. But anyway. Seems like a really cool bar full of really cute people. Lots of young people and energy and a real electricity to the place. Definitely a place I would come to pick someone up or get picked up if I was into that sort of thing. My friend (let's call him K), doesn't really ever get anyone's number, not too often anyway... he was in here for all of 5 minutes when this lovely girl got into a conversation with him, they did the whole "I never do this", "I never do this either" thing, and next thing you know they are trading numbers. I got hit on by several girls in here too, which is always nice, although I'm not really looking for anything like that, I was just hanging out with my friends. My friend (let's call him M) always meets girls on "Tinder" and then they always want to meet him here, and are usually really good looking. Oh and the girl behind the bar was extremely attractive, and was totally distracting M from his conversation with his Tinder girl. So that's what you're going to get around here on a Friday or Saturday night. Enjoy it! I'll give this place a 4 for being a great place to meet new people, hook up, or flirt. I have to come back and try the food and/or the trivia sometime (which are more my style) and then I'll adjust the rating accordingly. One thing though... the drinks are massively overpriced in my opinion. So if you're into drinking, it might suck. Oh and the music is a bit too loud to have a proper conversation. Pretty much your standard Buffalo watering hole, where you're bound to run into someone you know (or someone you don't want to see). Its generic quality actually seems to be related to its popularity, I think, and the fact that you can never find anywhere to park nearby on a weekend night. Weekend nights are my only experience with Thirsty, actually, and at those times, the bar's usually packed so tight it's tough to get a drink, which leads to pretty gruff service. I'm not sure how it goes during slower times, but on a Friday, it's the kinda place where you wonder: should I really be tipping a dollar to a guy who's managed to take my order, open my beer, and give me change without once making eye contact? That said, the patio's nice and warm, even in the winter, with plenty of room, and a great place to sneak off and enjoy your hard cider or watch a game in peace. And the music is never terribly obtrusive (especially since you usually can't hear it over the crowd). Bottom line: I never dread the suggestion of Thirsty Buffalo as a drinkin' venue, but I'm never the one to think of it, either. read more

I remembered a time not too long ago when Thirsty Buffalo maintained a simple, double sided, one paged menu, easily sectioned into with Wings, Burgers, Sandwiches, amazing types of fries, and that's really it, but that's all you really needed. Coming here for bar food and having a few drinks with my friends was one of the things I loved this place for. Their new menu though caters towards a different style of fare, I guess you could call it gastropub; smaller portions but better quality of food. An example I can think of are the Buffalo Nachos we had; instead of a plate filled with chips covered with bleu cheese, chicken and hot sauce, we had 6 oversized tortilla chips, each individually decorated with toppings. Good, and if the place felt classy I'd love to share a plate of these with my girlfriend over some interesting convo, but Thirsty Buffalo isn't made for these type of situations, It's a bar. That's it. This is no place for fancy food. This place needs to class up, or class back down; they're uncomfortably stuck in the middle. The new menu is fancy but the decorations and layout are static to how Thirsty has always been, yet the old menu is grungy and totally fits Thirsty's entire vibe. You can't change the entire menu without changing the decor; Thirsty has to pick a direction and pursue it all the way. Beer is good though, no complaints there. read more

Open bar from 8 PM to 12 AM for $15 (note this was a special rate for our large group event--they don't usually offer open bar). Large bar area with attentive bar tenders and plentiful drinks despite the large crowd that night. I really liked the atmosphere here. They have TVs around, good music playing, and a narrow but nice windowed seating area where they set up a buffet table for our group. The food was great and they had a very plentiful selection that never ran out. Chicken wings, baked ziti, a variety of meat and veggie wraps, pizza, salad. I couldn't fit it all on my plate. We had an event at Thirsty Buffalo so I thought it the perfect opportunity to try the food and drinks. Julie was our server for the evening and she was pretty attentive considering how busy it was. I ordered a turkey rueben and substituted the chips for hand-cut fries. My friend ordered a chicken wrap with fries. The kitchen seemed like it was living pretty slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our meals to come out. When they arrived, the plates were extremely hot to the touch yet my sandwich and fries were only warm, not hot. To me this means it sat under the heat lamp in the kitchen forgotten by a server or food runner. The flavors of my rueben and fries were actually very, very good. My friend said his fries and wrap were actually a perfect temperate and very tasty.
