Ordered medium wings and they are outstanding, maybe the best I ever had actually. Long long wait though, the French fries probably came out a good hour or so before the wings did and they were pretty salty and a bit soggy, dont know if they are always that way. Also remember to bring cash, no credit cards here. The staff very friendly and attentive. read more

Horrible place. Got there at 4:30. Waited tell 6. Never got our wings. 5 tables before us all got served. Servers had attitude when we got there. Manager was aware and still Did nothing. Horrible place. Go to bar bill !!!!! read more

A couple things to note for anyone who hasn't been here: 1. It's cash only 2. They don't offer take out (they have to go boxes if you don't finish your food but you can't just order food to go) 3. Be prepared to wait for your food. 4. Nothing you order will come out at the same time. 5. The kitchen closes long before the listed closing time. 6. It's a tiny dive bar type spot with a small bar and very limited table seating so they don't allow parties over 6 people. We were a party of 2 and arrived about 45 minutes after they opened. Place was already packed and we were quoted a 90 minute wait. Ok no problem, we grabbed a couple drinks at the bar. There wasn't a seat for both of us at the bar or we could've just ordered food right at the bar. Those seats are first come first serve. We actually only waited about 30 minutes for a table. As we were going to the table we were told that it's about 90 minutes for food to come out of the kitchen. Again, we appreciated the heads up and hoped it was going to be similar to the seating time quote and be overestimated. Spoiled alert: it's not. Our server was quick to greet us and grabbed another round of drinks while we looked at the menu. It's very small so there wasn't a lot to debate. We decided to order the Finn fries, pizza sticks (it's just pizza logs) and 20 wings. The giant plate of fresh cut fries came out first and rather quickly. They were seasoned and greasy but not in a I feel so gross after eating just a few kind of way. We ate the fries slowly and then it was the long wait. About 2 hours later the pizza sticks arrived and the wings came shortly after. The pizza sticks were overcooked and a little burnt in my opinion. The wings were a good size and were definitely crispy even though they were swimming in sauce. The wing sauce had good flavor without being just burn your tastebuds hot. The inside of many of the wings however was dry and chewy. This is where the disappointment set in. I hoped it was just one or two that were dry but we both commented on the wings being dried out. The homemade blue cheese was fine but nothing exceptional. Overall, I don't get the hype and it's not a place I would be willing to go back to and wait 2 hours for wings again. I think there are plenty of comparable options that don't take the entire night to get your food. Our server was great and kept checking on us and made sure we had everything we needed while we waited for the wings. Not his fault at all and we didn't experience the attitude that others comment about. Bartender was great too. Would I eat here again? Probably not. read more

Hostess was a very mean person. We got there at 4:20. They open at 4:30. There was a line. When they opened and we got to the door there was a sign saying cannot seat more than 6. So we split 4&3. Our whole party wasn't there. So she asked how many in your party, we said 7 total. She said she can't split tables, what ever that meant. So we said we will sit and when the rest of our party shows up they can get a table. Hostess said you told me 7, we said yes but we will sit in different tables. Again she said no more than 6. She got a little belligerent for somebody representing the company. So we went out. The rest of our party shows up, they feel she misunderstood us. He went in to talk to herShe gave him the same line. My guy said you don't have to be a b***h about it. She replied F**k you get out of my restaurant. I will never go there even if Josh suggests it. We had people from PA to try them. Bottom line don't go there with more than 6 people! read more

Follow up to my original post. Second visit I had the corned beef sandwich. Now I've been to the meca of Deli's, Katz's in NYC. I have to say that this corned beef was just as good which makes it some of the best I've ever had. The sandwich came with fries that were amazing too, but the corned beef was to die for. Sorry, no photo, I was too exited and ate I before I could think about taking a picture. Can't wait for a return trip to Buffalo. read more

I came to the reviews to see if maybe my bad experience at nine-eleven was just a 'one off' and found that apparently it was not. The food here was good, but it was absolutely overshadowed by the unbelievably rude behavior of the hostess (owner maybe?). There are a LOT of places to go for good food in south Buffalo where you are treated with kindness and respect, but this is not one of them. read more

Amazing unique Buffalo Style wings. Well worth the trip. Smaller place that also has delicious fresh cut fries. I would highly recommend.

While in Buffalo New York my husband and I were dying to try Buffalo Wings in Buffalo New York!! We decided to stop by Nine-Eleven Tavern. When we showed up they were pretty busy and it was pretty loud. Our waitress took our ordered fast and brought us two local beers to drink as we waited... When our Wings finally arrived I was surprised that they were all really big (to me)! Being a hot wing judge from Reno I thought I had probably tasted some pretty good wings but shut the front door because these are THE BEST WINGS I had ever had in my LIFE!! There was no small talk...or any talk at all once she dropped off these little chunks of heaven on a bone! We devoured them in no time at all...I am surprised that I even got a picture of them! Were they crispy? Yes!! Were they saucy??? Yes!!! Were they the right amount of spicy?? Yes!! Were they the meatest Wings I had ever had?? Yes!!!! When in Buffalo definitely check out Nine-Eleven!! Thanks Nine-Eleven for answering all my Buffalo Wing Dreams! read more

Drove 30 mins to get there. Arrived the minute they opened. Walking through the door we see the sign saying they can't accommodate parties more than six. There were seven of us. I told the hostess we were more than happy to split our group. There were several open tables. She said "no we won't split up parties do they can't accommodate us". We were forced to leave. Doesn't make sense why we couldn't divide our party. To me that's unprofessional and rude. read more

What a nice little neighborhood bar/restaurant. We were there with a group of friends to have some wings and beers. The sit down part is limited so we decided to stay at the bar. Some of the best wings in Buffalo! With this comes a couple down sides. 1- no reservations 2- 6 ppl max per party It is also cash only. The corned beef sandwich was good and the fries there are amazing. I understand some places don't take reservations then they should have a time limit. We waited 2 hours to get seated while there are tables of people finished eating and just sitting. Deff a must try at some point though! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE & OWNER. I was absolutely shocked she was the owner and would talk to my family with such disgust. From the second we walked in we were met with such a condescending tone. Complete power trip because we asked to be seated as a party of 8 or 4 & 4. We ended up leaving because the owner was so disrespectful saying "I don't need you." We traveled from far and we're so disappointed with our experience. read more

We came to buffalo to try some wings and Nine-Eleven was our last stop. We were full, and only ordered 10 wings. I wish we had come here first. The wings were amazing, the sauce was so flavorful. Finally made it here for the first time. We ordered 10 mild and 10 hot. We usually split medium and mild, but at the server's recommendation got hot. My first bite into the hot wing was the best chicken wing bite I've ever had. My wife was laughing at me ogling over the wing. Chicken texture was perfect, and the spice was so nice. Great mouthfeel, and amount of heat. Definitely a unique spice blend, different than other Buffalo favorites. I am already craving that perfect texture/ spice combo again. We also had the Finn fries that came out hot and delicious. We liked adding the malt vinegar to them. They served as a great pre-wing starter, with a non-traditional seasoning blend. We sat in the back corner, and enjoyed looking at the golf memorabilia. Everyone just seemed so happy to be there, us included! Servers were helpful and kind. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Worst Owner experience ever. Came in with 8 people family and friends after a lacrosse game and she was extremely rude. First she wouldn't let us sit together we said that is fine can we split up she responds no I know you guys have 8 you guys are 8. could have been an easy fix just doing 4 and 4 but instead I had one of the rudest people talking and disrespecting me and my family completely unacceptable behavior from a worker and it turned out she was the owner. I mean completely embarrassing display of human behavior. read more

Seeing this place at the top of the Wing Pyramid I had to give it a try. No issues with the place or the service. The hot wings were not what I would consider hot enough. Also the parm and vinegar forward sauce was not to my liking. The wings were cooked properly and were meaty however. The fries tasted over done and I was not a fan of the seasoning that tasted burned. read more

I have eaten at least 10,000 wings in my life and I believe these were the best I've ever had. Perfectly crispy, plenty of sauce and even better presentation. My only complaint about the wings is the sauce could've been a little spicier If you go here, plan on having a wait. We got there right when they opened at 4pm on a Saturday (there was a line formed outside the restaurant, in 40° weather). After we ordered it took probably an hour and a half to get our wings, but it was well worth it The fries (not pictured) weren't half bad either read more

We planned a dinner at Nine-Eleven Tavern with friends and family, totaling nine people. Upon arrival, we requested two tables--one for five and another for four. The hostess informed us that the maximum party size was six, so we could not be seated at the tables even though we explained we drove separately and planed which table each person would be sitting at. She was extremely condescending and stuck in her ways not bending at all. She refused to let us sit at two separate tables in the dining area and told us we could either leave or eat at the bar. We chose to stay and eat at the bar because some of our friends had yet to try their wings. Although, if the bar was full, we would have been turned away altogether. Not a great way to run a business. While at the bar, we overheard a group of four, which included a young child and a baby, informing the hostess that they expected two more guests. The hostess clarified that the children counted towards the six-person limit and stated they couldn't be seated until everyone arrived, also mentioning a 1.5-hour wait once seated. At that point, the dining area was nearly empty with plenty of room for the party to be seated in wait for the other two guests to arrive. To top it off, the restaurant was a sweltering 85 degrees without air conditioning. While the wings are fantastic, the customer service and overall atmosphere were extremely disappointing. This place has amazing wings but is poorly managed. We won't be returning. The bartender helped salvage the evening with his great attitude and customer service. read more

Would not allow our group of 9 to sit at two separate tables. Also told parents with two babies they couldn't sit at a table until the other two people in their party arrived. Delicious seasoned fresh-cut French fries, awesome hot chicken wings, the hot sauce is an original very good and ice-cold beer -- this is the place for you! A small place with two friendly servers who work great together and bring warm, welcoming energy to everyone read more

Wings are awesome and the fresh cut fries are even better. Very small sitting area unless the outdoor seating is open. Staff is friendly but every time I go the wait time from ordering to receiving food is always awful. They always say it's because they only have so many fryers but I would think they could come up with a better process. The last time we went someone ordered chicken fingers and we all ordered wings. The chicken fingers came out and they had eaten them and waited another 20 min before rest of food came out. I would go more often if timing was better. read more

Buffalo Wing Coalition recently named Nine Eleven Tavern at the top of the pyramid for Elite wings...wish I could say the same for their customer service. Our group of 7 wanted to take our out of town friend here to try the wings. We understood that they don't take tables of more than 6 people because its literally a dive...and that's ok. We asked for a table of 5 and a table of 2. Were told they couldn't put tables together & that they couldn't guarantee we'd be close & that they don't split checks. I let her know that we were fine not sitting close and that we certainly were not asking to split any checks. Her response was that 'it didn't work out before' (insert crying laughing emoji).Dumbfounded by the hostess, we went back outside to discuss this with our group. The other 2 (of our group of 7) arrived and we told them to ask for a table of 2 & they refused them because they saw us outside talking to them. We could have been talking to strangers for all they knew. I wish I was making this up.... We went back inside & the 'owner' was now at the hostess podium. We were hoping the hostess wasn't able to comprehend what we were asking, but neither was the owner. Two of us could have been seated at the bar and the others at a table in the dining area, we weren't asking to be close, we weren't asking for tables to be put together & we weren't asking for separate checks. They weren't even busy, they didn't have a line out the door or at all...which was odd considering it was a Friday at 6pm & they have the 'best' wings. My guess is that it has to do with their dismal customer service. The lack of awareness of their stupidity & their inability to make it make sense was incredulous...even a week later. After being told F.U by the 'owner' ( I did say she was being a b), we opted to head over to Adolf's...since our out of town friend hadn't been there. Best decision. Adolf's was busy (waited about 30 mins), great wings and AMAZING customer service. Adolf's will be getting a glowing review soon. We're now referring to our experience as being 'Nine Elevened' ... Have you been Nine Elevened? read more
