Marble + Rye has been one of my favorite spots for quite some time now. Unfortunately, I don't get to go as frequently as I would like to do so. So it was a pleasant surprise when a friend and I decided that we'd stop by. This was their first time here and admittedly I was happy because they haven't had many pleasant food experiences in Buffalo. I believe they haven't been going to the best places but that's another conversation for another day. Okay so let's dig into the experience. We were running late and arrived at approximately 9:40 pm. I was nervous that we'd either a) be turned away or b) not get the best service since it was so close to the time that they closed. Let me be the first to say that that was not the case at all. We were seated in the most perfect little nook tucked away near the door. Dimly lit but cozy for good vibes and good food. Our server Megan came over and she was truly delightful. She provided really great recommendations. It was the perfect mix of personal reccs, insight on bestsellers, and answers to our mainy questions. We ultimately settled on two pizzas, fried rice, and a buyer (not pictured). The food came out in a timely manner. The drinks were incredible and the service was undeniable. Special shoutout to Megan again for offering a one of a kind experience. Misc: There's a parking lot next door to the building never knew. Prices are a tad steep but the vibes are good. Little did we know this gem was right around the corner from our hotel during a recent visit to Buffalo. We were looking for a spot to grab a small bite and some drinks to wind down and didn't realize just how good this spot would end up being! Their Detroit-style pizza was legit, with really good dough texture and a nice frico. I wish I had found Marble + Rye earlier on in our trip because I would've definitely gone back for more of the pizza. We weren't looking for any more food, but their menu sounded really good and if I'm in town again, I'll certainly stop in to try some of their other offerings. Regardless, I definitely recommend the pizza! They also have a really good cocktail menu. Their bar staff were all really friendly and knowledgeable. Aside from pizza, I'd make sure to stop in for a cocktail, as well. Overall, our time at Marble + Rye was short and unplanned, but it still left a great impression and made me wish I could go back a second time to explore both the cocktail and food menus further. Stopped for our anniversary tonight, Cassie was our waitress and she was very friendly and on top of things! They gave us complimentary sparking wine for our anniversary which was so nice and not expected! Tried the Detroit deep dish pizza and it was absolutely delicious - perfectly crispy crust with rich flavors that hit the spot. The pasta bolognese had a nice kick of spice and tasted great, though I do wish it had a bit more sauce. The crispy potatoes were a standout - golden, crunchy, and super satisfying. Drinks were amazing too - well-crafted and refreshing. We loved it and will visit again! We also were sat by the window so we could watch volunteers walk the shelter dog's! read more

I love the vegan pizza here with just the perfect amount of spicyness! More importantly the vibes are so cozy and perfect for chilly fall and winter evenings with low lighting. The service is always great and it's the perfect location for before so many downtown events (show at Sheas, Sabres game, etc) more importantly it's great for any evening and then to just wander a little downtown after. Dislikes: Likely related to me getting older, but it was really dark inside and some of my friend's even broke out their phone flashlights to read the menu - hahaha. Went here for a bachelorette dinner (older bride so much more tame) and loved it! The hostess made sure we had a quiet space and went out of her way to ask if there was any decor or special things they could do. The groom ordered flowers from around the corner and she even offered to pick them up for us! So kind! We had a great dinner here before a show at Sheas. We were seated promptly and both got an espresso martini cocktail. It was absolutely delicious and full of complex flavor! We split the Pickle Pizza and Caesar salad. Both were tasty and fresh. We enjoyed it and I forgot to take a picture it was so yummy! We especially liked the Detroit style pizza! I went for their burger and beer special on a Wednesday and was not disappointed! The double cheeseburger came out piping, hot and well assembled along with a side of potatoes. Also had a nice little dipping sauce which I'm not quite sure I how to describe, but it tasted really good with the potatoes and on the burger. The beer was just a draft lager, which I can't recall now and I also got one of their happy hour cocktails, the Bourbon + Tea, which was oh so smooth. I had been to Marble and Rye in the past and it definitely looks like its had a bit of a makeover since. For the most part, I love their drinks, although some of them get a little weird. Sometimes in life there are Plans that don't work out the way you hope because of Unfortunate Circumstances. I was supposed to dine to dine at Chez Ami at the Curtiss Hotel, but unfortunately we had to postpone that to the following week due to Family Member being sick in my Party. So as a Backup Idea, my Brother Nathan kindly took me over to Marble & Rye for a Dinner just the two of Us. First time going back to see Michael Dimmer in almost 4 Years (not since the night the Bills broke their 17 Year Playoff Drought). This is always a good place to visit, Small Place, Casual Atmosphere, and Good Food done right. Just before we ordered Michael Dimmer came out and greeted us, I told him its always a Pleasure to see him. I said sometimes we should meet up for Food and Drink when he's not Working. Then our Server let us know about their Origami Randomizer, you do some Folding and all that and whatever number it was, that the Drink you would Get. What I got was Glass of Amaro which packed an intensely Strong mint Flavor, it almost felt like that I was drinking Cough Syrup (not one of my Favorite Drinks). My Brother had better luck and got a Modelo Beer, he was Happy. The only Appetizer on the Menu that sounded remotely interesting to me was their Pakora. Similar to Falafel packed with Indian Spices and mixed with Spinach and Onions, came with a side of Jalapeno Dipping Sauce. When they were placed right in front of me, I said to myself: These are Huge. These were almost Baseball sized fritters. I took my first bite and I bit into that crispy Surface and then tasted that Curry. Not too spicy but it packed some Heat, dip them into that Vibrant Neon green Sauce and it gives more heat with every Bite. While waiting for our Entrees I ordered a Cocktail off the Regular Drink Menu. I got a Drink with Ingredients that sounded Unusual, Tear's for Tammie Brown. Consisting of Angel's Envy Bourbon, Circus Peanut Sweat (Peanut infused Cointreau), Corn Dog Water (Water that's been Fermented with Smoked Corn, Cinnamon and Cloves) and Purple Perfume (Plum Bitters). You gotta admit that this sounds like the most Unorthodox Drink that you've ever heard. But when you taste it, it somehow Works as you Sweet and Nutty with each sip, topped with Candied Orange Peel. This is like the type of Drink you'd like to get Drunk at the Circus on, makes your Taste Buds do flips like a Trapeze Artist. For our Entree's, me and Nathan split their House Burger and their Detroit Style Clam Pizza. The Burger tasted better a 2nd time (well for me anyway), Nathan thought it was ok. Meat Blend was perfectly Seasoned on a Sweet Toasted Brioche Bun with some Sweet Onion slices for some Bite. Accompanied by some Crispy Smashed Potatoes and Housemade Pickles for some Acidic Bite. Also came with cups of Herbaceous Chimichurri and Garlic Aioli to dip in. As for the Clam Pizza, a little bit of everything I could ask for in a Seafood Pizza. Crispy Crust, Zesty Cream Sauce, good sized Chunks of chopped up Clams and some Fresh Lemon Zest to brighten it up with notes of Citrus. To finish off this Meal we split one of their Housemade Ice Creams, Vanilla sounded too Simple and I wasn't feeling Sorbet. So I got to try their Burnt Honey, 3 Scoops of Ice Cream piled into a Glass sporting a bronze like Color. By burnt it actually didn't taste Burnt like it was Bitter it was more like a Caramelized, Creme Brulee taste to it. Michael Dimmer still does Great things here, whether its Pasta, Burgers, Fish, Pizza (etc). Marble & Rye makes Great Food with Great Ingredients. !!! read more

The only minor flaws would be that the linen napkins smelled very stale, so maybe they should inquire about that with the linen service they use. Definitely unappealing. Marble + Rye has been on my list of places to try for far too long, and while I've been for drinks before, I never got a chance to try their dinner menu until last night. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's on the smaller side but we didn't have a wait when we stopped in (6 PM on a Saturday). As of right now, they're first come, first served. In the past I've had their margarita, and I have to say, it's one of the best I've ever had! Their cocktail menu is pretty extensive and their bartenders are super talented, so everything looks amazing. Last night, we started with the crispy potatoes and Caesar salad. Both were delicious, and the chimichurri sauce that came with the potatoes was excellent. I opted for the Detroit-style cheese pizza, while my boyfriend went for the clam pizza. Both were so tasty and the perfect balance of sauce to cheese to toppings. The crust was ever-so crisp, and I have to say, they've really solidified my love for Detroit-style pizza. I always enjoy myself when headed to Marble & Rye for a drink or dinner with friends. It's a nice atmosphere and vibe, and the cocktail list is fabulous. This is probably my fave thing about this place - it's very consistent. You know you will enjoy yourself when you go. At my last visit we sat in one of the window seat (dream come true) and I got the Lil Dynamite, which is like their signature version of a margarita. It was suuuper delicious and went down easy. I also ordered the double cheeseburger which was smash burger style came with these deliciously crispy, salty potatoes. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Service was also very nice and attentive as always. We stuck around for a while and the server was changing shifts but he was not rude or pushy when asking us to sign our checks so he could be on his way. As a former server, I know how that is, so I totally respect that he didn't want to wait for us to close the place down with our long awaited catch up! I def don't want to be that person! Detroit Style Pizza is starting to catch on in Buffalo and this version was great - heavier crust, but the char on the crust was perfect. The Sweet Corn Pappardelle starts off a little soupy, but once the ricotta melts, the sauce is fantastic. The Caesar Salad was good, but more on the Kale side. The best mocktails I've ever had, hands down. The bartenders are incredible, and I challenge you to ask them to make you something and watch the magic unfold. Also a huge fan of the "Odyssey & Oracle" if you're look for alcohol. They have a fantastic happy hour deal on chips which you cannot miss, for only a dollar. From the rest of the menu I've only tried the kale salad (fabulous), and a burger (reasonable). Actually, can we go back to the salad for a second. Kale ceaser salad. So simple yet so ingenious and very tasty. I'm technically gluten and dairy free (when I actually listen to my body), but this is a dish I would cheat for any day. It's a very hip vibe, and everyone is friendly, but it can get a bit noisy and crowded with the bar crowd so close to the tables for dining. Definitely recommend a stop here though for the kale ceaser salad and the Odyssey & Oracle. Not that I'm telling you what to do, except that I kinda am. read more

Booked dinner at Marble + Rye for my birthday before heading to see a show at Shea's. Our table was ready at 5pm, but we decided to start off with cocktails - Rye Manhattan and a Future Sailor (Mezcal, Linie Aquavit, Foro Amaro, Lime, Red Pepper, Coconut and Tamarind Angostura) at the bar. The Manhattan was superb and so was the Future Sailor. At the recommendation of the bartender, I ordered the C Student (Rye, Cognac, Cappelletti Sfumato Rabarbaro, Sweet Vermouth and Rhubarb Bitters)... and that was excellent, too. OCTOPUS (Woodfired, Charred Onion, Pickled Jalapeno, Romesco) - The octopus was cooked just right with a char and not so much or so little that it was rubbery. The romesco sauce (roasted red pepper and nuts) was very good. My wife loved this dish and I liked it as long as there was some pickled jalapeno with each bite. REALLY SPICY CUCUMBERS (Chile Oil, Soy, Dill, Cilantro, Scallion) - Nice appetizer to go with the Octopus. CACIO E PEPE (Garlic, Reggiano, Fresh Black Pepper, Fettuccine) - For me... this was the best part of the dinner. The fettuccine was cooked perfectly and the flavors were perfect. FALAFEL BURGER (Lettuce, Onion, Pickle, Dill Tzatsiki, Sesame Bun and Fries) - My wife liked the Cacio E Pepe, but said this was her favorite because of the Dill Tzatsiki and the moistness of the falafel patty. We really enjoyed the service and our meals... and both agreed we could come back here again for either just drinks or a meal. read more

It's cozy and there is something about the space that feels welcoming and relaxing yet semi-fancy. The service was great. To start we got the pickled onion rings. They were absolutely amazing. A unique twist. The pickling made them sweet, but not too sweet. The dipping sauce paired perfectly. We each got the burger as well. It was ok, honestly I expected it to be amazing after reading the other Yelp reviews but I found it pretty standard. The bun fell apart and didn't seem as fresh as it could have been. A group of us went for a pre-show dinner at Marble & Rye last week - I was excited since it was my first time back at the restaurant in over two years! Holy cow! I love the ambience. The restaurant is a large, dimly-lit room that fits just the right number of people. The tables are fairly spread out, so you won't feel like you're a sardine. They have a large bar where you can hang out and sip on a delicious cocktail instead of getting a table. I was a in a group with 8 people and they accommodated us with a nice table towards the back. I was glad we were all able to hear each other despite the place being fairly crowded by the time we left. The waiter greeted us right away and took our drink orders. They have a full bar (of course!) and they even have really interesting cocktails on the menu, including one which includes honey ice cream! I had the old fashioned, which was fantastic. We all enjoyed the drinks from the bar. The food menu is fairly limited. Most of the entrees are different types of "Detroit-style pizza". They do have 1 or 2 salad options, a double cheeseburger, and a pasta dish. Everyone at the table basically had one of these options and they were pleased. However, the cucumber salad was spicy and lacked flavor (we all tried it). Regarding the pizza, I may be a native long Islander, so I think NY style is king, however I am always open to trying different home-made pizzas, and Marble & Rue didn't disappoint! It was definitely sufficient for 1 person but could be shared between 2 people. I picked the clam pizza - it was absolutely delicious! You couldn't tell that there was clam in the pizza either - it did not smell or taste fishy. Our food was served nice and warm/hot. It took the waiter a while to get our food out, though I assumed he was trying to bring out all of the dishes at once. Marble & Rye is a great dinner spot for a group of people and also a great date night spot. Definitely an ideal place to eat if you are spending the night in the downtown area.
