The hideaway is my favorite restaurant and has been for the last 12 years. Their open steak sandwich is my favorite steak ANYWHERE. Their stuffed mushrooms are sooooooo delicious and their sweet potato with walnuts, brown sugar and butter is basically dessert. I'd recommend a lot on their menu even for someone who's pretty picky. The artichoke dip is amaaaazing. And if you dine at a table rather than the bar you get home made bread with their home made flavored butters Their service is always great and the ambiance is too!! Would rather have a breaded artichoke. French Onion Soup - cup 7/10 Pretty good. The broth looked like it was oily but didn't taste it. Flavor was good. Could use one less chunk of bread, and definitely needed way more cheese. Pasta brandel 9/10 Added shrimp. Good and simple. I liked the amount of tomatoes in there. The Fish fry is excellent. The haddock is thick and fluffy with just enough crispy beer batter and cooked to perfection. NO over greasy rock hard fish here. There are multiple sides available. Went New Years Eve last night. Nice menu. However, our server was not very good. Took forever to get drinks and food. Tables after us with other servers were in and out! Had prime rib served without any au jus and it wasn't very good and when the server finally came over to check on us we told him so. All he said was "I'm sorry" turned and walked away. He never brought the dessert tray to our table all he said is there anything else you want. Very disappointed and I told the hostess so when we left she thanked us. I should of not left a tip. Of course I recommend this place! It seems as though I keep popping back in and rarely, if ever disappointed. As I have been coming here for likely 20 years... I saw the Yelp reviews for ribs so I decided to give them a try. The ribs were fall of the bone delicious with a little kick. They were served with bread, coleslaw and baked beans. I wasn't a fan of their coleslaw. We split a Greek Salad which was great. The waitress stated that everything is homemade in the kitchen. Service was terrific and the restaurant is kept very clean. They also give you a free glass of wine for checking in with Yelp. We definitely will be returning. read more

First time here and it's really like a hidden little gem in NT! They take reservations, the inside is super comfortable...and they have a pretty ambitious menu full of salads, steaks, burgers, ribs and more. They even had a nice little check in offer when I came in for a free glass of wine with Yelp check in (for the win!). We got the french onion soup, shared a slab of ribs, and a steak salad. Service was kind and non assuming. There were a couple points where I would have preferred to have my water refilled more (maybe a pitcher on the table next time?), but not going to ding the place for that. Ordered a 16 oz Prime Rib Center cut and received a boiled piece of some kind of meat for 43.00$. Called the manager after opening my to go order and told her I specified Rare center cut and took a picture and texted her the product and she said to bring it back. She was rude and she said I could try another piece or be lucky to get a refund of 43.00$. Why would I want any piece of that rib roast after getting a overcooked piece of meat!!! Someone there does not know how to cook prime rib roast or was this leftover from some other time ! I am from Texas and know a lot about beef so no excuse for this! She would not even compensate for me not having my meal and acted like the refund was a favor to me ,really. Also they charged me 5.00 for a Caesar salad that went with my meal? The food is excellent. This is by far my favorite restaurant I've tried so many different things on the menu and every time it's just amazing. Some of my favorites are the artichoke francaise, stuffed mushrooms, coconut shrimp, chicken francaise, french onion soup and BBQ ribs. They had this pasta special one time with sun-dried tomatoes and that was probably my favorite thing I've ever had there I wish I could have it again. Not to mention the desserts sometimes I go just for dessert because it's just divine. The service is fantastic everyone is so nice and it's just a great place to be. The soup and the complimentary bread were very good. The soup was nice and hot which is how I like it. The shrimp and scallop scampi also contained artichokes. Been to this restaurant twice now and I must say that it a great place to dine at. Your welcomed in by the friendly staff and seated in a cozy room complete with candle light and a fireplace. The jazz music however can be a little overbearing. The food here is so enjoyable. I really liked the bread service today! It came with this homemade strawberry butter and that great! Unfortunately the corn bread was a little dry but did have nice flavor. The biggest praises I can sing of this place are their soups! They have serval soup choices each day including a few soup de hours and the French onion. Today I decided to try the chicken tortellini soup. Each soup they make is a lovely taste of home cooking! The entires are also pretty impressive with very large portion sizes. I got the New York Strip which was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. It came with onion rings and a sweet potato. The thin onion rings where super yummy! I liked the sweet potato to but I felt as if the honey walnut butter was a little much. Last minute decision to go to dinner with my daughters. We've heard good things about the Hideaway for years but just never made it. The food was good. We ordered pretty simple items (burgers/salads/stuffed banana pepper's) but the menu was very extensive with options from Salmon to Filet. My daughter said her salad had more oil on it than dressing so unfortunately she didn't finish it. The banana peppers could have been cooked longer but the sausage stuffing was good. My boyfriend's mom raves about the Hideaway Grille, so when she said she wanted to go to dinner there the another night, I was thrilled! I had never been there before. Due to Covid-19 you need to make a reservation in advance. I wasn't sure what to expect, from the outside, it looks like a small place, but inside,it's actually quite large, clean, is beautifully decorated(they still had some Christmas decorations up), and has a fancy feel to it. We were seated right away. The three of us ordered dinner entrées. I ordered the chicken Alaska and my boyfriend and his mother ordered the prime rib- Saturdays special. They loved it! The chicken Alaska(chicken with crab under melted cheese and I believe a horseradish sauce) was good, but I don't think I'd order it again- very rich. The asparagus had a balsamic glaze on top, which I like, but the taste was stronger than other balsamic glazes I've had. I'm definitely going back! Our waitress was wonderful! Exemplary service! Soo this 5 star really goes over for the quality and taste of the meals. I was very turned off by the price tag on these dishes but I gave it a shot. The waitress was not bad, a little rough around the edges but she was nice just not personable. The room wasn't too loud and the food was pretty amazing. I wouldn't get my meal again it was the lobster Ravioli and it wasn't bad but I've had better. However the coconut shrimp was amazing and the stuffed banana pepper was great!!! I will probably be coming back as my whole family loved everything. They also gave us cornbread for the bread option which was amazing. A definite must try read more

We enjoyed lunch here, it was much larger inside than I expected and the tables were spaced quite far apart. It was decorated for the holidays and very cheerful. The soup and sandwich of the day lunch special is a bargain at $8. You get a full size sandwich and a cup of soup. I had the patty melt on rye, and their rye bread is one of the best I've had - thick buttery and full of caraway. Decent burger in there too. Because of "orange zone" dining restrictions in Erie County we decided to venture up North to Niagara County and were lucky enough to catch a reservation for dining at this hidden gem. Except for the self-centered, smokers that stood maskless and blowing smoke at the entrance, the place was excellent in terms of COVID-related safety protocols. Tables very widely spaced, staff masked and diners kept masks on while going to/from tables. Now on to the good stuff- the FOOD! Selected some cocktails and wine and placed an order for a colossal (3 huge pieces) shrimp cocktail and an artichoke appetizer. The shrimp were fine according to my husband, but really those artichokes! Yum. Our waitress was great in getting our pacing for this meal, waited until we were enjoying the apps and took our dinner order. We got to enjoy the company of friends on what kind of felt like a normal night out. All dinners served with choice of soup or salad, and boy was that salad a perfect starter- great tomato, great dressing, loved every bite alongside the warm, tasty bread. I was soooooo happy when my meal arrived, a perfectly cooked mid-rare filet, with tons of flavor, served with the sweet potato starch option that basically ooozed goodness all over the place. Loved the two together. Friends enjoyed chicken francaise and a talapia special as well. Also happy with the bill as this place is reasonably priced for all the good food we and drinks we enjoyed.
