a sandwich and potato salad

Went with a friend to check out this new-ish bar in the area and it did not disappoint. Stayed for a couple drinks more than expected and tried the food as well. Their signature items are the paninis and I highly recommend trying the Open Face Memphis Pulled Pork ($9). It was really, really good. All sandwiches come with chips (which were also good). I also ordered the stuff pepper Mac and cheese ($4, cup). Didn't wow me as much as the sandwich, but it was good. Love the staff begins the bar and the atmosphere was very comfy and neighborhood bar feeling, but way less grungy looking, haha

Absolutely wonderful! Came for my birthday with my bestie and had a blast! Mike was nothing short of the best host we could have asked for, he was super accommodating, polite, friendly and good at what he does so two thumbs up especially on the margaritas and that Mac and cheese! We'll be back!

Great sign in the bathroom. While there Josh Allen watched over you.

This bar opened not that long ago on Niagara Street. It is a nice addition to the neighborhood. Not too big, screens with sports on the brick walls, just a nice place to have a beer with friends. The bar has no taps, beer is served in bottle or can. Don't worry you have to drink out of the can, a glass is provided. I did not study it, but there is a small plates menu, so come hungry. Did I mention the bar tender was a very nice, friendly guy?

Doing everything right. Paninis excellent and large variety. Everything in the menu that I saw was under $10. Play the football games on Sundays and Monday's and turn the music down and sound on. No long wait for drinks or food. Amazing wine list actually. And not freezing cold inside. Oh and clean bathrooms and friendly, helpful staff.

This review is loooong overdue since I found myself becoming a regular here. I can't say enough great things about Free Street. The staff is friendly & welcoming, the food is delicious, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The space is small, but it makes for a cozy experience. If you're not in the mood for one of their paninis, they always have something different going on in the crockpot. I have made it a goal to try every panini on the menu, but found myself in love with the Memphis BBQ panini and can't bother to order anything else.

Best bar in America. And Canada. Probably in the world. Great food, great people, great beers, great ambiance.

Don't waste your time, just another trendy location with below-average food and customer service.

The bartenders had the offered cocktails ready to go and that really hit the party started. Brandon was at the door greeting everyone as they came in, and the room was not too crowded. The more I've learned about them the more I wanted to visit. I was optimistic that they could be our new neighborhood bar. We finally got an opportunity to visit this evening, on a Thursday around seven. When we first walked up it seemed packed full and I was a little anxious, just because I avoid crowded places. I looked inside to make sure there was room and I was pleasantly surprised that there were a few four tops available. Most folks were at the bar. I prefer a table anyways, so it was perfect. We got to a table and someone came up right away. I ordered a Paper Plane and Matt got the Lagunitas IPA (um, great price at $6!). I had already heard the owners were from San Francisco, which makes us so happy because we happen to be from the same area! We ordered the pasta chips and flatbread to snack on. They were both delicious! I love sweet and savory and the dip that came with the pasta chips definitely delivered on that! I also got the best dirty martini I've had yet! I always want to ask for three olives, but don't want to be a pain. This one came with three olives without me asking! We'll definitely be back lots! So close, so welcoming, such delicious cocktails, very reasonable prices. Everyone was so kind, there was no pretension whatsoever. They're the neighborhood bar we've been waiting for. So super happy!

So glad that on the spur of my girlfriend invited me to go to hear some jazz piano on a Sunday night. Great way to end the weekend! Small group of silver-haired patrons. They look like relics themselves! The music was great. That atmosphere couldn't be beat. I'm coming back for more fun. Comedy, Celtic music, cartoons and bloody Mary's! I ordered the hummus and veggie plate. I needed a little something to go with my cocktail. I wouldn't come here for dinner, just for the vibe and the music. The bartenders are super friendly. 5 stars!

These are dark, dark times indeed...but somehow, Nietzsche's is a little beacon of light down at the end of Allen Street. From the exterior, it isn't hard to surmise that Nietzche's is a dive bar. Very much coated outside and in with writing on the walls, old photographs, weird relics that have been around for longer than I've been alive, you immediately forget what the sun looks like if you're going in in the daytime. But, that's okay. The people of Allentown will tell you that the dark is comforting...and you wouldn't want to see a place like this properly lit up ANYWAY... But don't get it twisted, what might come off as "rough around the edges" to some, this bar is absolutely one of the coziest, comforting dives and I'm always ecstatic whenever I get the chance to come here. They have a pretty decent variety as far as beverages go. Mostly tap beers, but they have a fridge with plenty of other canned stuff; my go-to is a cider, of course. A cheap PBR is my husband's drink of choice and has been for most of his adult life - and that's what we love about this place! The consistency!! Live music daily. Yes, daily. They literally have a calendar inside that will tell you every musician that has booked a spot that day. Sometimes it's just a solo guy playing in the front of the house, other times there's a full band in the back. Either way, you're going to get a totally unique music experience here, no matter what day you pick or what time you get there! I think they have snacks here?? I can't remember. After The Pink burned down we went to Nietzsche's the next day and they were serving up bagels and cream cheese. Totally unique experience. But I have eaten in this establishment before. However, this place isn't known for it's food, so I wouldn't rely on it. Instead, might I recommend the Jim's SteakOut down the street? Nietzsche's is owned by some pretty good people now, who are putting their heart and soul into keeping the business good and the music flowing for years to come. And I can't wait to go back. Rock on y'all.

There were only a few other guests during our stay and things began to pickup as we were leaving. In the past, later at night, we've walked by and the place is quite packed. If you like quiet intimacy and a deal on drinks and food happy hour is your golden time here. I almost hate to share this secret tbh. Don't go. Leave this for me haha. The drinks here are all delicious and lovingly made. Really superb cocktails that taste good. The food is pretty good. It is clearly prepared well and presented artfully. I do think that calling a burger, "A quest for heaven" and not having it be super memorable and mind blowingly flavorful is a miss. It's a good burger and I'd eat it again but it's not a craveable item and I hoped with such a small menu it would be amazing. The charcuterie is super generously portioned and the nduja add on is a huge portion of nduja. Get the charcuterie. The crab toast was good and I'd get it again. We want to try baked brie next time. We also tried the pistachio mousse dessert and it was very pretty but lacked a lot of pistachio flavor. A chocolate cup full of unflavored but rich whipped cream and a minuscule amount of pistachio flavored something that was holding the cup to the plate. We were mostly just confused by the name of the dish versus the experience. It was good just not pistachio mousse. We actually wondered if someone accidentally prepared it wrong. We were here for an anniversary and were given free champagne before our meal and offered more at the end which we declined because of all the other lovely drinks we'd had. The service was great, the staff were polite and informed about the menu and drinks and the bartenders made wonderful things. Will be trying Saint Neri again soon.
