HEADS UP FOODIES!!! This place is amazing!! One of the best parts of this EXPERIENCE was meeting and being attended to by the owner. The minute we walked in-he was engaging and trying to fill our mouths with the delicious food that he prepares. This in itself is so special and satisfying. The shop is warm and inviting. It's simple, clean, and fresh. The meatballs were so delicious and flavorful, and the bread was fresh in the truest form of flavor. The salad was packed with so many different Italian combinations of garnish that it was a meal in itself! The rice balls were shared with a local bartender on the way home and they were a big hit! Again, the owner went above and beyond to fill our bags to the brim. The food was cooked from the freshest ingredients. I ordered here for a work lunch after asking them "what's good in the Northtowns." Happy when they suggested we try something different. I ordered the night before through DoorDash. The consensus was a build-your-own culetto, which sounded right up my alley. The ordering process was easy, although there were a few differences between the restaurant's menu (found on Yelp/social media) and DoorDash (no wheat bread option and aged provolone was the only cheese available). One thing I appreciated: you could pile on multiple meats without an upcharge. Naturally, the dietitian side of me chose turkey. The food-lover side of me immediately regretted it. My work partner ordered the meatball version, and wow - those meatballs, the sauce, and that crusty bread were clearly the winning combination. The sandwiches were served in little soup cups to help hold what I can only describe as a "bread pocket." It was delightfully messy, involved a fair amount of crunching, and was absolutely worth it. The office also requested tiramisu, so I ordered a couple individual cups, along with a sfogliatella. If you've never had one, imagine the love child of a croissant and a pastry shell: dozens of delicate, flaky layers that shatter with every bite, surrounding a lightly sweet ricotta filling with hints of citrus and vanilla. It's crisp, creamy, buttery, and delicate. Overall, I'm grateful for this opportunity to something a little different. Fresh baked bread, thick pieces of amazing cheese a variety of vegetables and a delicious balsamic dressing and olive oil , all served in the Butt of the bread ( as it was explained to me) and you have a truly delicious sandwich. My friend ordered hers with their homemade meatballs and was very happy as well. Everything is homemade or freshly imported from Italy every week. Including dessert that was absolutely delicious. The owner and his staff are charming and the restaurant encourages you to bring a picture of your Mom or Grandmother to include on the wall of much loved family. In a nutshell: excellent and can easily recommend! I placed an order for the create your own culetto via the DoorDash app for pick up (one for me and one for my son) and it did not disappoint! I used a suggested option that is popularly picked by other customers, which was Roman meatballs and aged provolone inside of rustic white bread. It was $30 for 2 of them, which I found to be fair in comparison to other places that offer meatballs subs but also for their exceptional quality here! Upon entering Da Nando, there is seating. It's sort of the order at the counter and have a seat style from what it seemed. There aren't waitresses walking about or anything and it in any a big place. I approached the register area to pick up my order. Although both gentleman working were busy with other customers, one of them made eye contact with me and gave me a nice smile to acknowledge my presence which I appreciated. The other man finished up with his customer first and came over to help me. He was also kind, making eye contact and a smile. My order was ready, and when the other man heard I was doordash, he instructed they guy help me me to give me some sourdough on the house. He said "we take care of our doordash drivers"! I found this so very nice! Ironically, although I ordered this for myself and my son, I am actually a DD driver by occupation and very much appreciate this kind gesture! I've made 4000 deliveries and only one other time was offered a free food item so this very much stood out to me. And can I just say that sourdough bread was AMAZING?! I had actually been craving some for weeks now and this hit the spot. It was nice and crispy/flaky on the outside and so soft on the inside with that true sourdough flavor! My culetto was superb! The rustic white bread was of the same quality as the sourdough and held the sandwich together perfectly; no sogginess, no meatballs falling everywhere. I am very picky about meatballs and found these to be absolutely delicious! Not dry. Not too dense. Not falling apart. Sauce was good too and not too much to drown out any of the delicious flavor! And lastly, the aged provolone was excellent! This is another thing I am picky about. I can taste and feel in the texture of a cheese when it is way too processed and this was not. It had a perfectly sharp and aged taste that I love! I found the portion served to be a perfect size for a meal, but if you want more, there's a colossal size you can get for an up charge, or of course you can get a side (I think they have in house prepared chips, cannoli, etc). This place was two thumbs up from me and my son and I look forward to ordering more sandwiches here and maybe getting some more bread on a DD delivery in the future! read more

This was a wonderful place. I had the regular size Meatball Culetto along with my wife. I had mine on homemade sour dough. Delicious! My wife had it on the homemade white and she loved hers as well. The meatballs are easily the best I have ever had. We each had a cannoli which was perfect. I highly recommend trying this. The staff is super friendly and it has a very nice European feel to it. OMG .. HEAVENLY... INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS PERFECTION in a sandwich!! We were merely hungry for a sandwich and decided to go somewhere new hurrying to beat their closing hour. Never imagining the experience we were about to have. It was the end of the day and the question was "first time?" When the answer was affirmative one of the guys (The owner perhaps.) said "let me make you a little sandwich to try this meat." He created in all its simplicity a massive bite of oh so good meat enhanced with some Provolone on a chunk of perfect homemade bread. By now you can guess that Da Nando's is going to be a regular spot (We've already showed photos and talked about this amazing " going for a sandwich" with several friends and I told my brother in Virginia that when he's up for a Bills game that we are going here.). The restaurant is comfortable and pleasant to dine in offering a few high tops and table. You feel comfortable. What really provided comfort were the three guys making the sandwiches. AND THE MEAT OH THAT delicious meat and cheese. They hand stuff the homemade bread (I chose rustic Italian) and soon you forget Main and Transit because you are transformed to Italy. They proudly talked about the MOTHER'S WALL ... "next time bring a photo of your mother in a 5x7 frame and we will put her on the wall while her favorite song is played." These guys are proud of their eatery. We were told next time to at least sample the meatballs and by the way Tuesdays are chicken cutlet day you have to try them but I don't think I want anything other than the amazing sliced meat stuffed in a perfect chunk of bread. Absolutely 100% phenomenal in every single way. It's so cute and welcoming inside. It's very clean and smells so good the second you open the door. Amazing friendly fast staff and owner! We were given samples of the delicious bread too. I ordered their famous meatball which blew my mind in presentation, flavor, smell, and texture. It's famous for a reason! A great sandwich! I had a variety of deli meats that we're stuffed into the bottom third of a delicious loaf of bread (they even give you a piece of bread to taste while you're making your selections). They have a variety of toppings they ado stuff-into the bread (I had marinated artichokes, gardener, onions, banana peppers, lettuce and tomato. The people that work there are extremely nvery-and very helpful offering all sorts of suggestions. I haven't tried their meatballs sandwich yet, but everyone seems to like that and I got a cannoli tsorry only sorry I didn't get two because it was also delicious. My only complaint is they never offered me a choice of mayo or oil or any sort of dressing and I think the sandwich needed something like that i know it was party my forgot-as i forgot to ask. As I looked back boom the sign lit up! I was given a warm welcomed by the staff and owner. This spot is def top tier! You have got to try this place! What a great little Italian place to have lunch. It's like walking into a little piece of Italy. They guy at the register was super helpful as we had never been here before and weren't sure how it what to order. One we had our food the owner actually came over and sat and talked with us! He was extremely personable and friendly, something you don't see everyday. The food was amazing! Basically a chunk of Italian bread with the doughy part removed to make a pocket, then filled with 6 of the most delicious meatballs you'll ever have. When visiting my son he brought us to DaNando. What an incredible visit it was!!! Made us all feel like famiglia I felt like I knew him forever. He brought us out a couple of tastings of all imported meats and cheeses. Even made us cannolis for a party for my son. Everything about him and this place is so warming. For Starters, Nando, the owner, is a great guy!! The minute we arrived he was serving us samples of the wonderful bread, the soppressata and the delicious provolone that brought me back to what my father always bought. All imported and you could definitely taste the difference. We started with the traditional Sicilian salad, which was more than we could ever finish in one seating. Then the pasta! Being Italian, and growing up with wonderful sauce my grandmother, mother and all my aunts would make, there are very few places where I enjoy the sauce. This is definitely one of them. The employees here take pride in their work and their Italian heritage. They really know their stuff and will answer any questions you have. They gave me a sample of the aged provolone as well as their bread topped with Canadian bacon. All was delicious, I am not sure if I can go back to regular provolone. I ordered the regular culetto with Genoa salame, mortadella, spicy capicola and suppressants. I also added the aged provolone, nando's dressing, onions, artichokes, roasted peppers and topped it off with balsamic glaze. I can't stop thinking about how good it was. I also order a side of meatballs. The meatballs came with a side of their bread. The meatballs were great to share, but trust me you won't want to. The bread is so hard you can hardly bite it. You have to tear it off with your teeth. It said mayonnaise on the Turkey BLT but mine was soaked with oil. When you come to Da Nando you aren't just ordering food and eating. It's an experience from start to finish. The staff is very passionate about what they do. They want to make sure you know what you are getting and help you every step of the way. These are imported Italian Deli Meats, not the stuff you get at the supermarket. If you are unsure of what to get they offer samples to help you decide. The bread for the culetto is hollowed out so it can fill the sandwich with meats and toppings which I loved so you don't feel like you just ate a loaf of bread. He couldn't have been more friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy I was a repeat customer (first time in the location as I had it brought by friends in the past). My order was custom to how I wanted it but available quickly. Meatballs were amazingly delicious, sauce was phenomenal! This restaurant is owned and operated by a small business owner named Nando. I know that because when we walked in he greeted us warmly along with two other very friendly staff members. He uses only the finest meats, cheeses, fresh ingredients, fresh home made loaves of delicious Italian bread. All of which he explains where it comes from and how it's made. No cheap mystery meats here. The food and service were outstanding. The atmosphere, once you take everything in, was soul touching. From the mother memorial wall, the beautiful prayer boards, to the warm smell of fresh bread all in a clean quaint space. Take the time to enjoy the quality of food and service, you won't be disappointed! Nando has a quote up for all to see. "Meet as strangers, become a friend, leave as family" (might be a little off on exact wording) but that's exactly what happened today. I've never had such a pleasant dining experience in my life. My mother recently asked me to go with her to Da Nando's for dinner. She had been once and wanted me to try it. Love that parking is not an issue here. We walked in and were greeted by the men behind the counter. They were so friendly and it was definitely an experience, not just food. The employees (all 3 of them) were excited to show me everything. They gave my mom and I pieces of everything to try before we decided. We each even got a little meatballs to try. I decided on a meatball culetto and my mom got an assorted culetto. We both really enjoyed our food. I probably wouldn't get the meatball culetto again but would go back to try a different culetto.
