    Create Your Own Culetto
    Sara K.

In a nutshell: excellent and can easily recommend! I placed an order for the create your own culetto via the DoorDash app for pick up (one for me and one for my son) and it did not disappoint! I used a suggested option that is popularly picked by other customers, which was Roman meatballs and aged provolone inside of rustic white bread. It was $30 for 2 of them, which I found to be fair in comparison to other places that offer meatballs subs but also for their exceptional quality here! Upon entering Da Nando, there is seating. It's sort of the order at the counter and have a seat style from what it seemed. There aren't waitresses walking about or anything and it in any a big place. I approached the register area to pick up my order. Although both gentleman working were busy with other customers, one of them made eye contact with me and gave me a nice smile to acknowledge my presence which I appreciated. The other man finished up with his customer first and came over to help me. He was also kind, making eye contact and a smile. My order was ready, and when the other man heard I was doordash, he instructed they guy help me me to give me some sourdough on the house. He said "we take care of our doordash drivers"! I found this so very nice! Ironically, although I ordered this for myself and my son, I am actually a DD driver by occupation and very much appreciate this kind gesture! I've made 4000 deliveries and only one other time was offered a free food item so this very much stood out to me. And can I just say that sourdough bread was AMAZING?! I had actually been craving some for weeks now and this hit the spot. It was nice and crispy/flaky on the outside and so soft on the inside with that true sourdough flavor! My culetto was superb! The rustic white bread was of the same quality as the sourdough and held the sandwich together perfectly; no sogginess, no meatballs falling everywhere. I am very picky about meatballs and found these to be absolutely delicious! Not dry. Not too dense. Not falling apart. Sauce was good too and not too much to drown out any of the delicious flavor! And lastly, the aged provolone was excellent! This is another thing I am picky about. I can taste and feel in the texture of a cheese when it is way too processed and this was not. It had a perfectly sharp and aged taste that I love! I found the portion served to be a perfect size for a meal, but if you want more, there's a colossal size you can get for an up charge, or of course you can get a side (I think they have in house prepared chips, cannoli, etc). This place was two thumbs up from me and my son and I look forward to ordering more sandwiches here and maybe getting some more bread on a DD delivery in the future!

This place is incredible! The food is such high quality, imported from Italy. The two guys that own it are so nice and truly take so much pride in their food. This place is a hidden gem for sure. Please try it out and support this place! You won't be disappointed!

    Regular Size Meatball Culetto

This was a wonderful place. I had the regular size Meatball Culetto along with my wife. I had mine on homemade sour dough. Delicious! My wife had it on the homemade white and she loved hers as well. The meatballs are easily the best I have ever had. We each had a cannoli which was perfect. I highly recommend trying this. The staff is super friendly and it has a very nice European feel to it. You'll really like it.

Food 5/5 Service and staff 5/5 During a business trip I was able to find this local gem! Drove over, but the open sign was not lit up and I started to drive away. As I looked back boom the sign lit up! I was given a warm welcomed by the staff and owner. This spot is def top tier! The food was very good; bread was warm, the cheese had a great flavor and the sauce was on point! As I ate, the owner and I chatted for over 30 min sharing stories. Gave me a bit about the background of how the restaurant came to fruition. Def loved the mother's wall and all the photos of the amazing mother guest put on the wall. I don't live in the area otherwise this spot would be a regular stop! If you see this spot make sure you stop in a support the local business!

Great food and service. The owner is a very nice guy who gives you a history of the food and of himself. Gave us many samples before we ordered and everything was sooo good. We went with the Italian wedding soup, meatball sandwich and cannoli's. Everything was top notch. The salami we sampled was by far the best I ever had. Bread was also out of this world!

True, authentic Italian meal with such friendly, customer service in a colorfully-decorative setting surrounded by family photos, customer's photos and memorabilia from Italy. The culettos, arancinis, and fresh-baked bread were first class. The sauce was rich and flavorful without being overly sweet or aggressively acidic. Don't forget to save room for the tiramisu and cannoli! They are of out this world. Extraordinary!

OMG .. HEAVENLY... INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS PERFECTION in a sandwich!! We were merely hungry for a sandwich and decided to go somewhere new hurrying to beat their closing hour. Never imagining the experience we were about to have. It was the end of the day and the question was "first time?" When the answer was affirmative one of the guys (The owner perhaps.) said "let me make you a little sandwich to try this meat." He created in all its simplicity a massive bite of oh so good meat enhanced with some Provolone on a chunk of perfect homemade bread. By now you can guess that Da Nando's is going to be a regular spot (We've already showed photos and talked about this amazing " going for a sandwich" with several friends and I told my brother in Virginia that when he's up for a Bills game that we are going here.). The restaurant is comfortable and pleasant to dine in offering a few high tops and table. You feel comfortable. What really provided comfort were the three guys making the sandwiches. AND THE MEAT OH THAT delicious meat and cheese. They hand stuff the homemade bread (I chose rustic Italian) and soon you forget Main and Transit because you are transformed to Italy. They proudly talked about the MOTHER'S WALL ... "next time bring a photo of your mother in a 5x7 frame and we will put her on the wall while her favorite song is played." These guys are proud of their eatery. We were told next time to at least sample the meatballs and by the way Tuesdays are chicken cutlet day you have to try them but I don't think I want anything other than the amazing sliced meat stuffed in a perfect chunk of bread. I can't even begin to imagine what a large sandwich is. Spread the word ... keep these guys in business and they bragged on their desserts but we were so happy and full dessert was not on our mind. And to think we just wanted a sandwich never knowing we were headed to heavenly Italy!

Mind blowing! The Italian colossal, classic meatball, and 2 imported sodas. Dessert house made house made cannoli and lobster claw.
    Lexy M.

Absolutely 100% phenomenal in every single way. It's so cute and welcoming inside. It's very clean and smells so good the second you open the door. Amazing friendly fast staff and owner! We were given samples of the delicious bread too. I ordered their famous meatball which blew my mind in presentation, flavor, smell, and texture. It's famous for a reason! My friend ordered their colossal which was perfect as well! Very good crispy crust bread! The Italian meats had so much flavor. The imported Italian sodas were freshening and paired well. The cannoli and dessert with candied citrus fruits were delicious as well. We highly recommend them.

Half of our group (was a total of four of us) enjoyed their food. The restaurant was clean and bathroom smelled very pleasant. Pricing was fair for what was enjoyed. The focaccia bread was the star of the show for me. My guests enjoyed the shrimp scampi, but felt the portion was small and the salmon was delicious. I did taste a piece of the salmon and was jealous as I can confirm it was delicious...wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. Con's: The other half of our party did not enjoy the food. Unfortunately, I was in that bunch. It was quite surprising as the menu is not robust at all; so our thought was that the items that ARE on the menu must be a delicious specialty. I had the pork chops with pasta and spinach. The pork chop was tough and the pasta was bland. The sauce that accompanied the meal was tasty and moved the overall meal from a 'no', to an 'ok'. We each indulged in some classic Italian desserts and they and the coffee served, were the best I've had in a long time. The birthday girl wanted risotto and this was the only restaurant that offered it near us. Beautiful ambience. Very well received when we arrived, having reservations. A very nice initial waitress. Food arrived, and both pasta dishes were very salty. Made a comment to the waitress who came come and waitress said that unfortunately, that has been mentioned already to the cook on prior occasions. No attempt to rectify the matter with dishes. We did not make a big deal out of it. We ate it. The portion of the risotto looked like an appetizer, although we were told it was actually a dinner portion. Price for two pasta dinners, the special of the day, the risotto, a glass of wine, and a beer s was nearly $200 if not a little bit more. The couple picked up the tap, walked up and gave the waitress the check. Upon their return, I asked if they included a tip. If not, we would leave it on the table. As we were discussing that, a separate waitress, not the one that served as, came with an aggravated look on her face, slapped the ticket back down on the table and almost in anger stated.. You forgot to leave a tip. We will be back for it when you leave the tip. In shock, with a restaurant full of diners, I was definitely taken aback by that attitude. After I took a deep breath, I said.. these are new arrivals to the US, and when we realize that they did not add the tip to the bill, we were going to leave cash on the table. That is exactly what we did. And we left. I did not think that attitude was appropriate, especially in a dining area where the guests sit very close to one another and can hear everything. I sent an email to the restaurant about that incident and I never heard back. In my opinion, I have had much better service and much better food at other places. We were looking forward to a nice experience for this couple. They had no complaints as to their food. I did not interpret to them what was going on with regard to the second waitress, her attitude and what she was asking for. I did not want to make them feel bad, or obviously, not make a scene of any kind. Not necessary. And that's my experience.
